My husband, Michael Bush, is a patient of Dr. Schatz and has been his patient for several years. He is a great doctor. He explains everything so that you really understand what hes doing and what he recommends. He has a great manner and disposition about him. This was my first meeting with him and I was very impressed. His office staff also makes the environment warm and friendly. I would truly recommend hom to anyone.

I called them and made an appointment and they were polite and friendly. The staff were following all the safety procedures. The lady who checked me in was very friendly and polite. Dr. Schatz was patient and answered all my question. Overall a great place. I would definitely recommend this place.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Schatz & his staff. I & my family have been his patients for decades. My eyes have many challenges & he has taken extra time & care to help keep my vision up to surpringly good levels. Our daughter-in-law suffered from migraines. His eye exam revealed an issue that was easily corrected & really reduced the number of times she experienced them. I am grateful for the care weve received over the years.

Do not make an appointment here. Not worth it unless your 100000000% sure your insurance covers it. The office staff is not helpful at all. They took my insurance (blue cross blue shield) and told me everything was good for the appointment when I made it. I then got a call a few days after confirming my insurance. I gave them it again, assuming I’m good because no one told me otherwise. when I showed up to my appointment, my insurance magically doesn’t cover anything now, and need to pay $190 out of pocket. This is obviously very unprofessional and the insurance should have been handled before I came, if there was a problem she should have told me when I made the appointment or when they called the second time. After expressing my frustration, everyone in the office tried to handle the solution kindly, but it’s too late, and the mistake was already made. I’m already here expecting my insurance will cover it when that’s not the case at all because no one told me otherwise even though the website says it takes Blue Cross Blue Shield. I just wish someone recognized this and told me when I made the appointment or the second time they called confirming it. How can you confirm it, if it doesn’t cover anything? Literally makes no sense to me but I’m not an insurance expert. The doctor on the other hand was very efficient, quick, and professional.

We switched from the location in greenbelt because we needed a same week appointment and the entire staff at this location were very friendly and so sweet with getting us situated. We got checked in by Vanessa who was very quick and proficient with the exams as well. The Doctor and his assistants were informative. We left with happy frame purchases and updated prescriptions. Can’t wait to go pick up my frames. Thank you to the staff for your assistance! Will be recommending this specific location to others.

The people at the front desk dont bother wearing masks - this place is not safe!! They will get cranky if you ask them to put the mask on, and then take it off immediately when you leave the room, and then theyll get really rude when you come back and ask them to put it back on again. What sort of health care facility is this place?! If they cant follow basic pandemic protocol from the county/state, then they arent to be trusted with your eye care either!

Can I say AMAZING! Cant believe I lived 10min away for 20 years and didnt know about this place. Stumbled upon this doctor because of a missed appointment elsewhere. They were professional and found an immediate appointment on the SAME day! The staff are courteous and welcoming. They answered all my questions perfectly. Wait time is ZERO!! Dr. SCHATZ ROCKS! He was honest, patient and carefully listened to any concerns I had. Unbelievable! They even showed me how much they appreciated my business. No pressure gimmicks to buy unnecessary nonsense. I got a thorough eye exam. I will never go anywhere else.

Everyone is so pleasant and it is always such a pleasant experience. They always have the most current analysis equipment. Ordering my new glasses was also a wonderful experience. Carol is more than helpful. She gives you advice on finding frames that compliment your features. If Carol ever retires I would be lost without her. In conclusion I say go to Contact Lens Associates if you want to take the best care of your eyes; you won’t forget it!!

The lack of professionalism from the Doctor on down is appalling. The lying starts from the top and permeates through the entire practice. I would not trust their work just from the Doctor s lack of management skills as well as his supposed policies . He could not do the right thing at the making an appointment stage without making incomprehensible excuses. Good luck, but, remember, there are better eye doctors!

Dr. Shatz and his staff were the greatest!!! I had given up hope that anyone could correct my vision enough for me to see as clearly as possible again, they changed all of that. They took the time to make sure that I received the lenses that would best correct my vision. I have been a patient here several years and am always more than satisfied with the exam and extra information that is shared regarding my eye health. I can ask any questions and get answers immediately from Dr. Schatz. I have recommended his practice to several neighbors who asked if I knew anyone. It is convenient that the practice includes an optician on site as well. One drawback is the expense of the glasses, which I feel could be less, even though they do have a warranty. I will continue to be a patient as long as Dr. Schatz is the primary practitioner.

Dr. Shatz has been my optometrist for 18 years and has always been patient with me. I was diagnosed with kerataconus which is a condition that causes my corneas to form a cone like shape versus the normal sphere or a basketball shape. Since then, he has done thorough exams on my eyes and supplied me with the medically necessary contacts that have dramatically improved my vision. I love the fact that this business is privately owned and operated. Hours are not accurate. Came to pick up contacts on Tuesday at 6pm, doors were locked. Waste of time driving to CP.

Dr. Schatz is friendly, professional and knowledgeable about all things optical. He quite often brings in interns, and yesterday, he had a senior intern working with him. They both dealt with my visit, and Dr. Schatz reviewed the interns work and made a few necessary corrections to her diagnosis. Have been going to Dr. Schatz for nearly 40 years, and wouldnt dream of changing, even though my medical coverage doesnt include vision care.

Schatz is a dinosaur who is more of a used car salesman then an eye doctor. Only went to his office once but that was all I needed to see what kind of businessmen he was. He will one way or another force a product down your throat when all you needed was just the routine eye exam that should be covered by your insurance. and if you tell him you will order your lenses thru his office (when you are only trying to be nice to an old men who seems desperate to get a sale) but call back the following day to cancel the order, he will then delay and sabotage your ability to order contacts has every lenses company will need to verify the perception in order to mail your lenses... Schatz knows this and will use it to his advantage or basically to get back at you for not giving him your money, instead of having your insurance purchase the lenses for you. All in all this place is trap and I would recommend everyone to find another eye doctor.
