Dr. Yanish & his office at Capital Ortho were amazing which was such a breath of fresh air after so many awful experiences at Iowa Ortho. At Capital Ortho the rooms were clean, staff & nurses were very organized & efficient. I loved that they pulled the X-rays up in the room so you could see for yourself what the doctor was talking about. Dr. Yanish was very open & honest about all options available and took a non invasive approach which we appreciated. When asked about a certain procedure that was a bit unique/cutting edge he didnt try to brush us off (or the idea of it) or make us feel a certain way for asking, instead he welcomed the question and answered in a very open & positive way so that we could learn more. Doctor was great! He was determined to give me pain free mo movement in my wrist even if the scans didn’t show him what he wanted to see. Had my first cortisone injection yesterday and now dr. Yanish knows I speak “French,” haha! It was the most comfortable procedure but he didn’t great! Also helped me lay down and got me a cold rag from neck when I wasn’t feeling well after the procedure! He is funny and truly caring and has a great bed side manor!

Ultimately an experience that made me feel like I mattered. Originally went for surgical consultation. Turned into more tests and they squeezed me in right then and there so I didnt have to make another appointment. I was provided detailed expectations for pre, during, and post ope surgery processes. Very comforting and he didnt even seem annoyed with any of my questions or concerns. He answered ALL of them. His nurse scheduled everything for me and provided detailed instructions for next steps. Even explained how to get started with FMLA. Stress free appt.

I had a good experience with Capital Orthopaedics in general and Dr. Gregory Yanish in particular in dealing with Dupuytrens Contraction disease in my right hand. My condition was severe enough that he was not certain he could resolve it. Yet he did. Although he allowed two hours for the surgery, he completed it in 59 minutes. Afterwards, both fingers were straight for the first time in many years. I could not believe it. The support staff was excellent, too - professional, tireless, and delightfully humorous. One guy asked me to give him a thumbs up if my arm was completely numb. My arm WAS completely numb - so numb that I was unable to even lift my thumb. I appreciated the humor.

Dr. Yanish performed my carpal tunnel surgery a few year ago, and recently helped me when I cut off a portion of the end of my thumb. My carpal tunnel surgery was a breeze. He made sure that I felt as little post-operative pain as possible, and my incision site is nearly undetectable. He made me feel at ease, and I was very confident in his abilities. My hand was back to fully functioning in no time.

I Went in with an arm injury and paid insurance co-pay thinking everything was taking care of as far as payment. This was first and only visit. The doctors seemed very knowledgeable which was good. I was advised I needed surgery on my next visit and that my insurance would have covered it in full So I scheduled the arm surgery. A couple weeks later I received a letter in the mail stating I needed to pay almost $600 before they could perform the surgery. I was lied too, so I called and cancelled the operation. I then received a bill in the mail stating I needed to pay $420 from the initial visit and if I didnt pay they were going to garnish my wages. I didnt even get my arm fixed and they didnt do anything to help me. Then they turned it over to a collection agency. Bottom line is this company is very misleading as far as payments go. I thought my insurance would have covered everything like they told me or I wouldnt have never went to them. Now I am stuck with a $420 bill for nothing and receiving threatening letters. BEWARE OF ALL CHARGES BEFORE GOING HERE. THEY ARE VERY GREEDY AND UNREASONABLE!!

Dr. Yanish is an excellent doctor and top notch surgeon. I was told for many years that I needed carpal tunnel surgery but I was in complete denial. I had 4 consultations with doctors around the metro trying to find the right surgeon for me. I wanted to do both hands at the same time and also knew I wanted to do the surgery endoscopically to reduce down time and the healing process.I am a very busy restaurant owner and can’t be away from the store for more than a few days. When Dr. Yanish told me I would not have any limitations immediately after surgery I knew he was my surgeon.My hands were pretty swollen for about 12 hours after surgery but the next day, I was right back to work. I put myself on a little lighter duty for a few days but, I was back to work with full duties in less than 3 days.If you are looking for a hand or arm doctor look no more Dr. Yanish is your guy.I also have tennis elbow and Dr. Yanish gives me injections to keep these aches and pains away. I call these appts my tune ups. 😂Dr. Yanish is very personable and his bed side manor is impeccable. You will not be disappointed as his entire staff is wonderful!

Dr Yanish performed surgery on my left wrist to unlock a tendon. He was thorough in his explanations of the problem and the treatment. I had immediate relief and scaring has been minimal. My occupational therapist knew of Dr. Yanishs reputation as a good surgeon and has complimented how good my scar looks.

I am three months out post op from a tennis elbow surgery Dr. Yanish performed. This man has given me my life back, not to mention being able to use my arm without the major pain I was in for three years before the procedure was done. Dr. Yanish has an excellent bedside manner, spends time with his patients and makes sure they understand what he is going to do, what the recovery will be like, and encourages his patients to contact him with concerns along the way. Although he is very professional he also presents himself as a human being which goes a long way to making his patients feel comfortable while under his care. He even recognized me when we saw each other at Costco and talked with me. You will not just be another surgery to this Dr. He genuinely cares about his patients, his practice, and doesnt present with the inflated ego many surgeons have. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Dr. Yanish for any hand, elbow or arm issues one might be having.

May very well be an Michelangelo if Hand surgery but he showed me an Arrogant and Prideful Man. If your o’k with that proceed, remember prideful find it nearly impossible to acknowledge mistakes and shortcomings.
