Denise and Adele are very helpful. They go out of their way trying to help us with our situation. Internet sucks. Almost non-existent in the campground. Time to grade the driveway! Trees need to be trimmed so they dont damage larger, taller RVs.
Professional staff and willing to assist clients with the site operations.
Fantastic experience. Denise and the camp host were extremely helpful, professional, friendly and overall awesome! The facility is clean, organized and close to DC. Uber allowed on base for easy transport. Highly recommend!!
Excellent location, amazing staff, and such a warm family friendly community.
I read a few reviews on how bad the campgrounds and base were and was scared as to what we would find. The campgrounds were neat, concrete slabs, a/c in laundry room didnt work but looked like new washers and dryers. No wifi. The base looked better now than in 2012 when my daughter and her husband were stationed there. BX and Commissary were good and prices not too bad. Very sad that the stupid virus was here and all museums were closed. Zoo opened on Friday but not able to get tickets only so many people allowed. So we stayed on base, saw wonderful friends, went to Walmart and read books. Two and a half weeks on to North Carolina and Gem Mountain!!! Yeah.
Small but nice set up. Good value.
Great place friendly staff. Great service.
Our stay here was uneventful. The only things this campground has going for it is location to DC(metro)& level cement pass. It needs a complete overhaul!! The roads inside the park need regrading. They are very bumpy and uneven, NOT good for your RV/camper. The buildings are very dated. The grounds have been ignored for a long time. They are covered with layers & layers of old leaves and sticks.I will say, the laundry area was nice and priced great however, there is no change machine available and office doesnt have any either. We had to leave campground and go to golf course clubhouse for change frustrating .Denise in office was nice and very helpful.Honestly, the manager of this facility needs to take a good look at it and ask him/her self Am I proud of this campground I manage ?I also want to say, the military NEEDS to start putting more money into these Famcamps. This is NOT any way to treat your active, veteran and disabled personal.
Mosquitoes were insane, but not their fault, just a warning. Woman managing grounds is rude, she accused me of being a speeder on the phone before ever meeting me and warned me if my dog wouldnt be quiet while I was away that theyd have security forces break my door down to get her out. I had arranged to stay for 25 days. I have paperwork confirming this. Half way through my stay I was told I was only staying 15 days and no explanation was given as to why my stay was shortened. Place is far from pet friendly. When you check in they will give you a full page of rules for your dogs. There are signs EVERYWHERE telling you No pets allowed. There is a tiny dog park up front, which is where your dog is expected to poop, Im not sure if they know this, but a dog will poo where it wants, regardless of what you want. Id go as far to say this place is hostile towards families with pets. If you are not at a full hookup site like I was, water used to fill my fresh water tank smelled odd. Like it had bug spray in it.
This FamCamp was great! Yes, it doesn’t have a bunch of bells and whistles but what it does have is excellent sites that are all paved. Water and electric and sewer. The sites were clean and well maintained. The location is perfect in its location to DC. The cost of the site is a very good deal. The staff was friendly and quite helpful . Excellent BX and commissary on base with every other service you can think of on a major base. I would and will camp there again. Don’t let some of the other reviews scare you - we found this camp site to be a great deal and you won’t be disappointed.
Run down. Friendly staff, just hasnt been maintained. Situated between a golf course and a highway. 0600 traffic is loud. No fire pits either. Prices are good.
Needs to have the water supply looked at as the water is a bit brown. Do NOT wash your whites in the laundry facilities, as they will stain. But everything else was good. Quiet, and close to Washington DC.
Great RV Park to visit Washington DC from. It is only open to active duty & retirees. Staff is great & helpful. 1/2 of camp is to be improved & is inaccessible at this time.
Stayed in October 2019. Denise, the camp host was very helpful and informative. Park has level concrete pads with fhu available. Laundry has new machines at low prices. There is a lounge with tv, pool table and pingpong table. Close to the Metro for sightseeing transportation. By far the lowest priced rv park in the area. This is not a destination park, rather a stopover point in my opinion. It is old, and the base doesnt appear to want to spend a lot of money on it. Bathrooms could use a renovation, tho they are clean. Water lines lines in the park need upgrading.Denise does the best she can, but there should be more staff to help with the workload.I would definitely stay here again.
Campground in Washington DC, Andrews Air Force Base, was the worst I have been to. Refuse to use the bathrooms, disgusting. Also the lady at the office was very rude. Will not use that campground again. Now, the campground at Wright-Patterson AFB was great, clean bathrooms and laundry room, great campsites.
Nice quiet place. Great camping area. Great place to take the kids.
The campground is poorly maintained. The grass and weeds are waist high with downed trees and limbs throughout the park. The bathroom facilities are in a state of poor repair. I do not recommend this RV park... unless you are using it as a one night stop over.
My experience here was outstanding. Everyone neighbors, staff and visitors were all friendly and comfortable to be around. The facilities were clean to the point of expected when you come to a camp site. Could not have asked for more. Thankyou staff and crew at the Joint base Andrews Famcamp.
Great park. Denise is very accommodating. Loved it there peaceful. Sign out front should alert ppl that Famcamp is thru golf course.
Good. Unfortunately with the amount if rain (which they cant control) grass was high along with flees and tick and mosquitoes.
This place is awesome manger and staff is great, The Manger denise is very helpful and understanding ,I have stayed at several camp grounds and had several bad experience , this campground is a must too visit, Hats off too M W R for having a well knowledgeable staff. at the camp ground I look forward in staying there in the future.
I had a horrible experience here. People werent friendly. Plus when I was making our reservation the man kept messing up the dates and we had to call him 3 times for him to get our credit card information correctly. From there I should have known how horrible their service was. This place is so run down it the ugliest camp ground Ive ever been too. Our connection for water was leaking the whole time. I would never recommend this place or ever stay here again... Dont waist your time or money here you will be very disappointed!!!!!
It was awful to see our military facility in such bad shape. ..thought the one where the President goes in and out of would be the best. ....Boy was I wrong...embarrassing. ....
Just a basic military camp ground. This is a place to spend the night not a destination camp ground.
Took forever to get a spot in the winter of 2017-2018 because of the large number of sites down for maintenance. Has full hookup, bathhouse, and laundry facilities but overall the sites are not very impressive.
Good place for camping.
Office person or rude the grounds are inadequate no leadership certain people in the office show favoritism towards other campers would not recommend
Only has one good thing about this place and its the golf other than that the wifi doesnt work and the camp is very boring.
Like to see new place
Place is in disrepair
Natural camping
