Im in eviction court myself and Im in court because I had to call board of health and the same day I called the landlord and his wife showed up around 7 pm with a 3 day evection notice. Ive been in court since 09-08-20 over a year because his expensive lawyers keep continuing the trial date. If the landlord is willing to accept rental aid then by the cares act of 2020 that landlord can not evict you. And if they force you to pay get receipts and video everything so you wont be screwed over in court!

Honestly, Im not sure why this organization still exists. Ive tried several times for assistance without success. They are great for referring to lawyer referral services and handing their number out like free flyers and business cards at convention, maybe dum dums at Halloween. This sounds like an advertising ploy to assist lawyers seeking clientele than to really help those that need help outside of getting their security deposit back. A rock is more helpful than legal aid. Do not recommend.

I have used them many times and they go out of there way to assist you with your legal cases.i would refer them 365 days a year.they are absolutely the best.

They sent me to a lady who works in the Hamilton county juvenile court house. I informed her that I was concerned about emotional abuse of children. She stated that emotional abuse is not a concern and I should do the same to the child. I told her those methods sounded disgusting. This place is highly corrupt. I would recommend recording everything on audio for your own evidence because they are very corrupt.

I have a situation with Chime Card services. I called 1week ago to get legal aid. I still havent heard back yet! The lawyers did nothing to help my situation. In fact the intake person said they probably wouldnt be able to help me. I took care of the situation myself. Chime sent my money back without informing me until I threatened to go to media.

Thanks for zero help. Apparently legal aid only means helping the people who they think will win, not actually helping people.

I didnt spend enough time here to give a helpful opinion. What I can say is that the intake clerk got me in, I was seen in 5 minutes time. I can edit my review if my experience with this organization expands. **Update, my experience with this organization will not be expanding at this time. According to a letter I received, Legal Aid receives 30,000 calls each year. Im sure that this High volume of calls is why careful consideration of cases and their nature is at the root of their decision to take on only specific cases. Legal Aid is a viable resource for people who are in need of legal representation and their income does not exceed a certain amount. Although it is entirely true, I dislike typing or saying it out loud, the working poor doesnt stand a chance in this society. That is a truth that is hard too dismiss. Organizations as such are under too much pressure to meet the needs of the public.This organization and similar ones often lack the resources and manpower to impact more than a few. Dont let this deter you from getting representation if you need it. However, it is something to keep in mind. Theres parking right next to the building. The parking is almost never Free. Be prepared to pay a minimum of $5 (bring a credit or debit card). Theres also metered parking on the street. I forgot to pay close attention to what Metro routes run through this specific area. But the Metro comes very close to here. Definitely Walkable. Theres an Elevator which makes this convenient for those who are not able to take the stairs. Always bring a current and valid form of identification. Doing so will also add ease to the process. Good Luck!

So far so good. My lawyer has been great and has helped me a great deal with my case. It is still ongoing so we havent reached an outcome yet but she definitely makes me feel like I have a voice and I have somebody on my side. Give them a call if you are going through some legal trouble and see if they can help.

Im extremely surprised at the commitment and duty provided by my lawyer. He is working hard with me and putting in the work to make sure Im not brushed under the less fortunate rug and he makes sure I understand what is happening and how. I have options and my opinion matters. I have rights and I feel they are protected. I highly recommend calling if you need help. Worst thing you could hear is a no sorry have a good day.

Legal Aid attorney Elizabeth Tull Laureano misrepresented my son while I was trying to obtain special education services at Winton woods city school district which resulted in him being denied a free and appropriate education and being abused by school staff for years. She is most interested in maintaining relationships with the school districts instead of advocating on her clients behalf. Don’t bother contacting the director of the agency she won’t do anything. File a complaint with The Bar instead.

Legal Aid has helped me on several occasions.Please understand that these attorneys are working pro bono (for free).As such, in my own experience, they wont get back to you on YOUR time line. I had to wait weeks for an attorney to get back to me but she helped tremendouslyagain and it was free.As they say, you get what you pay for but I do highly recommend legal aid as they can be very helpful. And have been in the past for me.I should clarify, theyll set you up with an attorney relatively fast, but conversion between you and your attorney once theyve been established may take a little work.

I had 2 problems that i needed help with. I left a message & my call was promptly returned. Based on my current needs for assistance, I would need to speak to 2 lawyers in their respective fields. Both lawyers returned my call the same day. I was not expecting such a quick response. Due to transportation problems, one lawyer, Steven cameto my home. I have been treated by them with the utmost kindness & respect. I feel the lawyers that work there are very passionate & wish they could help everyone that walks thru their doors & are troubled when they cant. Unfortunately, they are funded by the government & their hands are tied on how much they can do. They perform a service like no other & receive very little recognition. I feel very grateful that they were able to assist me. Don t give up on them. If they werent able to assist you now, dont give up on them entirely, you may need their assistance in future.

They cant help me until I been in ohio for 6 months

Over the course of two years, I got 3 different stories of why they couldnt help me until blank blank took place with my situation. Well all the blanks happened and each time I was given a non- helpful number. This place was a very BIG waste of time, I cant give zero stars but they definitely deserve that many!!!! I did get help from the Help Center in the main court house, their free and I won my case against my old Landlord. Whomever is reading this PLEASE go get free help right around the corner at the Main St. Court House!!!! The Sheriffs inside will direct you to the Help Center and they will help you the best way possible!

Inadequate paralegals! I was able to conduct my own independent research that CLEARLY contradicted what they supposedly found. Im convinced that theyre under the impression that those requesting their assistance are not capable of obtaining a second opinion. Im also convinced that, they all just sit behind a desk and respond to possible clients with the same lazy line We are unable to help you SAD! Im pretty sure that the couple of people who gave good ratings, either work for this organization or are associated with them in some form or fashion. A waste of government funds!

So I called for help with bankruptcy and because my license are not suspended and I make bare minimum I don’t meet the qualifications. So I guess their saying they want you to be dead broke living outside in a cardboard box to receive help smh.

Theyll provide you with any legal concerns, your rights, including the process and cost, if any at all. My experience has always been a simple, short and successful, process.

Rolling over and dying like a cockroach, is not what the people who use this service deserve. Just because they need the help doesnt mean they and their families dont Matter. The people in this office should what to fight hard to help their clients, because they are what they can afford. Justice should not be determined by who can pay to make the matter at hand disappear. Bullying clients because they ask questions is wrong, when families are involved sometimes the smallest people count more than the money it take to fight in court.

The most Nobel organization in The USA. People dedicated to help those who have most difficult cases.

Its a scam. Dont waste your time. Just a few attorneys claiming to do pro bono work for their resumes. They will not help you even if the case is simple to work. Ghetto hood rat sounding phone answerers. Trust me dont waste your time, but if you insist just remember I told you so.

I was thinking about filing bankruptcy 3 years ago, called in about it but the fee they said they were charging I couldnt afford, so i never thought about it again.Three years later today, i had some unfurnate events happen that made me want to reconsider bankruptcy. I called legal aid, to be told they still had an active case for me from three years ago and she did not know if she should open a new case. So she referred me to a lady name Rhonda Tucker; whos tone was unpleasant as soon as she called me. She proceeded to tell me that it had been 3 years and that lawyer did not have to take on my case and it would be closed and I needed to start a new case. I asked why didnt the other lady tell me that I would have done that yesterday, she responded and said well you waited three years. I replied, wow, that was rude, and unecessary you dont know my situation and she said ok and hung up. Then I called the main line and wanted to start a new bankrutcy ticket and someone trannsferred me to her again, for her to tell me sorry we are no longer accepting new applications. Wow, talk about retaliation and rude service. I know there service is free but I would still expect some type of customer courtesy. I will file bankruptcy myself before I will ever call this company again.

I hate to write a negative review of an organization that I believe does valuable work. However, I contacted Legal Aid regarding help with a landlord/tenant issue. Since then, I have talked to three lawyers, all of whom have told me the advice I got was 100% wrong.
