I started going to Beyond Exercise for dry needling and PT with Dr. Jennifer Moehring-Schmidt, PT and have expanded to training sessions with Jason. Dr. Jen has carefully curated my treatment plan from Day 1, clearly communicating her diagnoses and course of action. What I love and appreciate most is that the discussion is always around getting me back to doing everything I want to do, as often as I want to do it. There has never been a plan that involves limitations. Weve expanded needling from one knee, to both knees, back to one without question. I trust her and she has been an integral part of my decision making for other treatments and imaging. If I could go to Jen for everything, I would.I decided to expand to training to take my game to the next level, but it has helped with my recovery and strengthened muscles that no one else talks about but are critical to peak performance. My muscles simply dont get tired and sore like they used to.And Deanett is the best.

I’m training for an Ironman and was in desperate need of a bike fitting. I am a Physical Therapist myself and don’t trust just anyone with my care. Ellen Foster at Beyond Exercise is an expert in the field and took the time to evaluate my biomechanics. Ellen made sure that I did not leave without the proper adjustments. I went from biking 40 miles with extreme lateral foot pain, to absolutely zero pain in my first attempt at biking 70 miles after my fitting. The name says it all, not every therapist is created equal and their manual skills and ability to think outside the box is way beyond just exercise.

I have been seeing Jen for about a 5 weeks as I work through a long and arduous hamstring tear injury. She has given me so many drills and things to work on at home, and I am finally back on my way to running! She really knows her stuff and has been great at answering all of my questions and also with communicating via email when I have a question before my next appointment.

After spending years trying to ease an achy back through chiropractic adjustments, the manipulations and exercises provided by Eric and Ellen have me pain-free after only three visits in the last year. Instead of relying on twice-monthly adjustments, I feel so empowered to control how my body feels. The upfront cost may be more, but the overall cost is so much less.

Been going to Beyond Exercise since there was one employee/owner (Eric). Hes a runner/cyclist athlete himself so he knows what your gong through.Erics gotten me through low back pain while cycling. Achilles pain while running. Severe rt.hip pain while running (My Doc wanted to operate, to see whats in there.) And most recently low back pain while cycling.Happy to say Im pain free!Eric takes the time to really listen what the issue is. He gets right to work, using different manipulations on the table to ease the pain. What I really like is He will give you a list of exercises to do at at home to strengthen the problem area.(if you travel this works out great!) Some are pretty hard but its worth it to get back out there! He also recommended a massage cane for my lower back. Wow!! I love that thing!Thanks Eric!

BE was recommended through a Friend for my running injury and I was a bit skeptical, but I have to say now I regret putting off my first visit. Jen was truly impressive with her knowledge and recommendations. The entire place seems very committed to your personalized wellness journey. I am actually looking forward to next visit!

I have been going to Jen at BE for the past 5 weeks for a running injury in my hip. What seemed like a daunting task to get back to running full time, no longer feels that way. Beyond Exercise is seriously one of the best places to compliment your running, cycling, endurance training or just overall fitness. I had heard about it from many different running acquaintances but never called until after I was hurt and needed Pt and conditioning....it has been a fundamental part of my training ever since....my only regret is I didnt start when I first heard about it. Eric and the entire staff are amazing....they take serious interest in you and your goals and work hard to help you accomplish them.

I have seen both Eric and Jen at Beyond Exercise, and they are both phenomenal physical therapists and have helped me overcome various running injuries. Besides the treatment I have received in the office, both Jen and Eric provided me with a lot of strength and stretching exercises that I could do at home between appointments. The staff at Beyond Exercise want to see patients heal as quickly as possible and will provide patients with various resources in order to do so. I recommend Beyond Exercise to anyone looking for a PT they can trust.

The staff go above and beyond to help you rehab your injuries and are truly invested in your recovery. Not only did they help me through my current injury but they also gave me a home workout plan of stretches and exercises to keep me running pain free! I have worked with various PTs at BE and have always been very satisfied. Theyre always up to date on the latest techniques & science and are able to customize therapy to my unique needs. I live in Dayton but make the drive as I would not want to work with anyone else. Highly recommended.

I have gone into Beyond Exercise for PT, strength class, and running group. Everything about this place has a family feel to it.The staff truly does go above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. Small injuries always seem to pop up over the course of the training season and these guys always work incredibly hard to get you back to 100% and out on the road as quickly and safely as possible.I have also learned to do a better job of injury prevention which has now become a staple in my training.Won’t find a more dedicated and knowledgeable group in the industry!

Ive gone to BE for PT, personal training, and a gait analysis. All of the professionals are terrific. Jen (PT) and Jason (trainer) have truly gone above and beyond to make sure that I recover from an injury and am able to return to running stronger.

My massage with Ian was the best I’ve ever had. I went in due to headaches and he worked my neck, shoulders & back like never before. Somehow he made it relaxing despite the deep tissue work he was doing on problem areas. I was headache free after that for months! He knows his stuff. Highly recommend.

I started running with the BE Run Project in January 2019 which was the season that resulted in my Boston Qualifying race! I started having some nagging knee and hip/glut discomfort and started seeing Jen Schimdt for PT. She was fantastic and after addressing some of the smaller pain issues through massage, home exercise and dry needling she recommended I do some deep core work. I had never really addressed my deep core after having children (my youngest was almost 7 years old at that time... yikes!) and had no idea that my lack of core strength was contributing to my pelvis being misaligned and therefore my knee/hip pain. Jen gave me some basic strength moves to do at home and recommended I work with Katie Kezele, BE pilates instructor. I did about 8 private pilates sessions with Katie and was amazed at the results. She taught me how to breath with my diaphragm and to engage my deep core/pelvic floor muscles in order to load my abdominals correctly for the moves we were doing. We worked pelvic floor, deep low abdominal muscles, hips/gluts. arms and upper back. We did a mix of mat and reformer work that Katie tailored each week to my progress. Jen and Katie made such a great team in talking through a plan for me. Both of them are super knowledgeable and passionate about womens health, especially postpartum health & pelvic floor. I highly recommend!!

They’re amazing! I saw jen and she was able to diagnose my neck and hip problem right away. She did dry needling on my trapezius muscle and I feel so much better today like a huge weight has been lifted. Finally feel like I have some hope! Excellent place for those suffering from pain

I was first introduced to Beyond Exercise through the running group. I always noticed them while I was out running on my own, they were always the most polite people I passed! Once I joined the training group I joined a family. Everyone at BE is amazing and will go above and beyond to help you reach your goals.6 weeks before my first marathon I had a minor injury. Ellen was an amazing physical therapist that helped me get stronger and gain confidence in my ability to finish the race! While some other PTs might have encouraged me to just rest and wait for next year, she knew how important this race was to me and she is a big reason I was able to finish the race painfree! I highly recommend everything that BE does! You really can’t go wrong!

Wow...Cant even begin to express the amazing experience I have had with Beyond Exercise! I had suffered from chronic right knee pain for several years after having kids. The pain was enough to send me to a traditional physical therapist. I trusted their diagnosis and went about completing the exercises they gave me. When the number of visits insurance would cover was up, I stopped going...but also thankfully my knee was feeling better...for a time. Fast forward a few years and the knee pain flared up due to an injury. I went in to see Eric who took the time to thoroughly assess my condition...not just my knee, knowing there could be other root issues. After just that first therapeutic session, I left feeling much less pain than I had when I walked in. My knee is now in great condition and I have been so impressed with the staff there at BE. Eric took the time to really understand what was happening and diagnose the root issue of my knee pain. I felt listened to, understood, and cared for throughout the therapy process. I would HIGHLY recommend Beyond Exercise to anyone looking for treatment of the whole person, and for a friendly, attentive, and personable experience!

I started visiting Beyond Exercise (and Eric) at the original location in Hyde Park square. Eric is extremely professional and knowledgeable and helped me with a shoulder issue. After some time, I continued to face issues with my shoulder and started having back and groin issues. In their new office in Oakley, I started seeing Jen who is phenomenal. I really enjoyed visiting Jen each time (even though she was sticking me with needles!)...extremely knowledgeable and fun to chat with during some necessary, painful sessions. I also saw Jason for some personal training to correct some posture issues I had...I had been lifting heavy weights my entire life (from High School until about 38-39), which caused all my injuries. He completely changed my routine to lower weight with a focus on back and legs. Everyone at BE has been great to work with and I highly recommend giving them a try.

I’ve seen a dozen different chiropractors and physical therapists for my lower and upper back pain. None of them were able to make significant change for me until I discovered Beyond Exercise. Eric has a level of understanding of the body as a system and skill in working it into balance that I haven’t seen anywhere else. He doesn’t assume the answer but spends time understanding the problem systematically and thoroughly. It’s not just about aligning bones and telling me to have better posture. They gave me a new paradigm to strengthen myself at home and in the gym to get me on a path to chronic wellness. I endorse!

I trained for the Philadelphia Marathon with these folks in the autumn of 2017. The training director is very knowledgeable and works hard to develop a detailed training strategy for full and half marathon preparation, and also manages to get to know everyone on a first-name basis. The coaches are extremely supportive and dont hesitate to share their experiences and offer advice. Each water stop during training seasons is every two to three miles, and almost always occupied by a coach or volunteer in case somebody needs attention - something you will not find with other local training groups.I have never regretted running with the #BERunProject and will use them for spring marathon training in 2018!

Do you have back pain? Dude...me too (or at least I used to). I have sought help from physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, some crazy people poking me with needles, etc. Nothing has produced results for me like Beyond Exercise.Whats the difference between these guys and the kooks? I believe it is a combination of expertise and time. Expertise around the proper biomechanics of the body, and spending the proper time to systematically address physical needs. The kooks just wanna pop your back. Beyond Exercise address why your motion is impaired, and works to return your body to proper function.Beyond Exercise as whole, under the leadership of Eric , has produced for me and my extended network a return to holistic, pain-free mobility.For this reason, I emphatically endorse Beyond Exercise.

Eric has been a blessing. After my first visitI felt better than i did after 8 visits to a Tri Health facility. I have gone to physical therapy where the therapist worked with me and 2 other people at the same time! I wasnt even sure if i was doing my exercises correctly. Well that didnt happen at Beyond Exercise. I got the one on one attention that i deserved and an exercise plan unique to me and my specific needs. It was so refreshing to have a therapist that was knowledgeable and attentive. I highly recommend Beyond Exercise. You wont be sorry!

It’s called the “BE” run project for short but really its an “A+” training program. Mike, Leslie, Laurah, and Rick do an amazing job stategically planning out the 18ish weeks. They are all so knowledgeable but active runners too so they truly practice what they preach.Easy to find your niche as they have pace groups ranging from the sub 3hr marathoners to the walkers.

My hamstring was bothering me after running a half marathon. Ellen worked with me to access the problem, highlight my weaknesses and put me on a program to return to running. Ellen followed up with me a few weeks after my appointment to make sure everything was going okay. I highly recommend Beyond Exercise for treating any sustained injuries!
