I sincerely wish I could give this ER 0 stars for its incompetent and arrogant staff. I came in with very bad abdominal pain that had me unable to stand or walk along with nausea, the doctor that goes by STEVE SUN refused to do any imaging, take a urine sample or give me ANY pain medication. It took them over 2 hours to tell me my blood work was fine when it was literally empty. Asked the doctor for pain meds and basically got told I’m an addict searching for opioids and that I wasn’t going to get them. When I tried to leave because I was offended they told me to wait for discharge papers or my insurance was not going to cover a single cent of my ER visit. I will NEVER return to this emergency room again and will only be going to scripps from now on

I received a call that my daughter Amanda (Mandy) was rushed to Sharp Medical Center. As soon as I could- I jumped on a plane from Texas. I admit when I arrived I was upset because the person the phone said I would be able to go in when I got there and that wasnt the case at 11:58PM. After having to find a room for the night it left me questioning the integrity of the hospital. The next morning I went back to Sharp and I was able to see my daughter. She was shocked/happy to see me. She was on a birthday trip in TJ where then she had to be rushed to California. She said that Sharp doctors and nurses had been nothing but good to her since she had arrived. I was there visiting her 5 days and I was amazed at the professionalism, compassion, consideration of each and everyone of the staff there. I mean from doctors, nurses and anyone else that worked there and had to walk in the room to conduct any interaction with my daughter. I had to return to Texas but I felt confident that she was in good hands when I left. I especially want to thank Dr. Hugo Barrera which called me personally to give me my daughters outcome on a procedure , Dr. Repishti , Manager- Francisco Garcia, Nurse- Isabell and Erika, N.A.-Benjamin and Lucy/Luz (those are the only names I remember) and all the other nurses and assistants that cared for my daughter and were extremely informative and kind to my daughter and me as well.Thank you so much and may God continue blessing everyone of you.Sincerely,Rachel Zamora

I was hoping to leave the ER feeling better but I left feeling worse. I came in with 10/10 pain and left with a higher grade fever and an extreme headache. I was not given ANY meds for relief. I will never go back to this ER and I will not recommend it to anyone! There is no sharp experience here. Do not waste your time. You will be treated like a burden to them. The RN at the front is rude and has no compassion for anyone.

My wife had the worst experience today at the E.R.she is still in pain beside being unprofessional and having nurses flirting with each other while she was in pain , the night. Before my wife was experiencing pain in her lower abdomen, cause by a ovarian cyst. I insisted on going to E.R. cause I saw her in so much pain but she didnt want after a long night of tossing and turning I took to sharp E.R and was treated like carp no took her pain into consideration and gave her medication for irritable bowel syndrome, when her discharge papers show that she has a ovarian cyst and pain the released her in worst shape then when I dropped her off the discharge papers say the gave her prescriptions plural but only gave her a prescription for irritable bowel syndrome

My son was DENIED SERVICE from a Sharp Chula Vista’s ER Registered Nurse. He had been vomiting for 4 days, was very DEHYDRATED, weak, amongst other symptoms. He had refused to go to the ER because he was afraid of not being helped and SHARP CHULA VISTA proved him right! What a COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT and DEHUMANIZING experience! He is a veteran and SHARP embodied how LITTLE THEY CARE TO HELP REALLY SICK PEOPLE!VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Everyone from the nurses to the Doctors were great. Everyone was extremely attentive and on top of everything. I delivered there and everyone was absolutely amazing to me. Nurse Paola was one of the best nurses ever! Super thankful to all the staff.

I had a great experience. I did arrive around 6:30 am so there weren’t any people to wait on. I had pain in my side and it turned out I was passing a kidney stone. Thankfully it resolved itself, but they did tests just to make sure. The staff was friendly in every area, and I didn’t feel pushed to the side at all. Thank you for helping me today.

Super rude and slow. While I was in the ER with my mom they were making fun of a elderly lady asking for help in the room next to us. Not really sure how people can laugh and make fun of people in need.

In most professional emergency facilities they would at least take vitals to make appropriate decisions regarding triage. Airway breathing circulation , right? Had to watch a guys bleeding foot and glossy face for 20 minutes before they dragged him into the back. And I do mean drag! He was bare footed with clubbed feet and bleeding. Worst care I seen to date.

Great volunteer staff at front door. Doctors are OK .Some nurses that prepare patients for OR are rude, with no bedside manners. I would choose another ER.

If you are 90 yrs old do not expect any help from Dr Sun, he wants you out of the bed for another critical patient. If you are 90 yrs old i would seek out another hospital. Good luck if . You have an elder parent needing help.

Worst emergency room I’ve ever been to. Rude, and dismissive staff. I try to avoid emergency rooms at all costs, but any time I’ve gone here, it’s been a terrible experience. Last time I left before I was even triaged, the nurse at the front desk was so dismissive, it really irritated me. I was having chest pain when breathing in for hours, I was rudely told “it’s not your heart” as if I don’t have lungs or something. I was concerned about a pulmonary embolism due to being on chemo, but apparently they weren’t. So I just left. Way to treat patients...word of advice, if you need to go to the ER try to avoid this one if you can.
