I have been a member of Alden Credit Union for many years now and have nothing but good things to say about them. Kim Seaver is great at what she does, offering helpful advice in a friendly and kind manner. She is always able to answer my questions over the phone, email or in person in a very timely and professional manner which I know from experience comes from going to a local vs. national bank.

I have been a member with Aldenville for 18 years and still counting. I currently live in CT and I still have an account with them simply because the people who work there are outstanding and they never treated me any different from others.It’s a 1 hour drive but honestly, it’s worth the drive.I’ve taken out a personal loan a few years ago which helped me greatly! It was quick and fast. Any issues I had, they resolved it for me and yes they do call you back when you leave a message when they are all set with other client appointments.They are professional, on point, customer friendly, and will try their very best to please you. I’m a happy client and truly grateful.

Have had a loan since last September 18 its June 2019 now. Problems with account, over a $2 late fee. My credit score dropped -100 points. I called in and was professional and said very plainly I need to resolve this however you can. I told them I thought it was a clerical error however I was willing to take responsibility if we could have a show of faith and goodwill adjustment made to my account to remove the late payment. They sent me a letter in the mail saying simply it was my fault and there was nothing that they could do to help me. I told them I would make an extra payment, or I could set up auto pay, anything to fix the problem. They were absolutely 100% against helping me in any way. Still trying to resolve months later, no help from Alden. They couldnt care less.*UPDATE*It is now February 2020. Over 1 year since my late payment and negative review. Google said a couple hundred people have found my review helpful, GOOD. I have told every person I have met to never go to Alden Credit Union. I have spoken to them about forgiving my late payment as it was over a year ago and I have made all my payments on time, brought up again I could do automatic payments. Alden simply doesnt care about hurting you or your pockets or credit score. They GAIN from your LOSS. All I have to say is my Truck is almost paid off. I plan to walk in to get another loan for something like a $45,000 Truck and I CANNOT wait to tell them I would never ever get the loan from them. They are missing out on thousands and thousands of dollars in future loans by how they shaft their current customers for their current loans. Ive had an account there for almost year and half and still NO MOBILE banking. NO ONE picks up the phone half the time. Financial department is a bunch of snotty rude woman. IF you ever have a problem with loan who ever got you loan wont even ANSWER YOU after. You are basically dead to them after you sign the loan. Again they dont care about customer convenience. Profits are all they care about. Overall worst business experience I have ever had. But it taught me to avoid business like Alden at ALL COSTS.

Having worked with just about every bank in western Massachusetts at one point or another, I have to say Alden is second to none. Throughout the years I have worked with the bank staff on everything from car loans to business loans, construction loans, home equity loans, mortgages etc. Their common sense lending practices have made life so much easier for me personally and in assisting in the growth of my business. Whether it’s working with Mark to get a car loan done quickly or Ana to meet both my business and real estate needs, Alden is truly second to none in the area. Even my office manager raves about the tellers at Alden saying they are the friendliest she’s ever experienced. In my 10 years or so with the bank they have absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. If ever there was an issue or a hiccup, Adam has personally stepped up and did everything in his power to help out not only myself but many of my referrals and clients. Over 10 years and hundreds of transactions with the bank, it’s rare not to have anything negative to say about a bank and their staff. Nothing is ever perfect but I can honestly say that Alden has gone above and beyond to fix and help as much as they can to meet all of my banking needs. I appreciate Adam and the staff that he and the bank have assembled. Keep up the good work and I look forward to working with this bank for years to come.

I paid of a loan early. I overpaid by a little. They closed the account they had opened for the loan and took the amount overpaid as a fee instead of refunding the money. That is pretty crooked if you ask me.

My experience here was excellent when I first began banking with Alden. Jessica set us up with a terrific car loan and she was responsive, helpful and informative.Unfortunately, the last few years, customer service has been poor. Trying to call with an issue and get answers is difficult, and loan officers can be pretentious, especially when asking questions. My wife and I visited with a loan officer regarding a home mortgage. We were surprised and frustrated by our experience when were lectured on what houses we could and could not afford, and were told that because we are young, we should seek HUD housing so we dont get ourselves in trouble. We both have credit scores in the 700s, have income well above the national median and have low debt. We have been just fine in the home we purchased, using a different lender. Condescension based on our age is unacceptable, at best.More recently, I have had issues with mobile deposit where checks I am attempting to deposit are being rejected. I am properly endorsing the check and taking images within the scope and format outline in their Mobile Banking App. After speaking with someone in their organization, I was told that the signature and endorsement section on the rear of the check wasnt showing in the image they had on their end. I tried again and even went as far as taking a screenshot of what I was seeing in the app on my end, showed that everything was being captured and endorsed properly. Instead of recognizing what I sent to the banker who was helping me, she passed the buck to her I.T. department and basically said, if you continue to have issues please come in and we will help you take the image. It feels like laziness. Its easier to assume that the person on the other end of the phone doesnt know what theyre doing than it is to try and problem solve. Very frustrating as a client. Unfortunately I am still trying to get the problem solved.I recommend banking with a different local bank. Its too bad switching banks is such a hassle. The customer service here is poor and the staff is bothered by clients who have questions or need help. Their marketing material says, At Alden, we make life easier for you. I think their marketing guy has never worked with their managers and loan officers.

😢😢😢😢😢😢 a one-star is even too much if I could I would put a 0 I was just put on hold for 16 minutes the person came back to me was so rude Im a customer looking for general information and the way I was talk to is so disgusting... so rude... no patience ...if I could rate a zero I will put a zero Im being generous by giving them a one-star dont ever ever bank with them 😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢 customer service theyre rude I thought we were doing business.. we were human try to have a little respect for your customers please

I was a personal customer for 16 years and a business account holder for 3years. And I was treated like I didnt exist. The manager made promises and never kept them. Not even a call back for multiple situations. FORGET YOU ALDEN CREDIT UNION for treating your customers like nobodies. WE MAKE YOU YOUR MONEY< GOODBYE

Is there an option to give -5 stars?!?! Had to give 1 star to be able to post this!!! Seriously this credit union is the biggest joke in town!! How dare they claim At Alden Credit Union we want to make things easier for you. Doing business is worse than having a tooth pulled without novocaine!! Found a great used car for my daughter and had to deal with this place because thats who the dealer worked with which I had thought dealing with a cr union would be great since I wanted to get the loan in my daughters name to build her credit with her fiancé (with Great credit) to co-sign. They told us they couldnt do that because she had no credit...DUH, thats what you use a co-signer for??!! Did the loan in his name and it has been a major PIA right from the start!! They have yet to credit any of their loan payments correctly even when they send it in 1 week prior to due date. Then they have the audacity to charge them a late fee for their screw-up. When you question them, if you can actually get thru to anyone, they are incredibly less than helpful...youd think you were taking [my] money out of their pocket!! We have contacted them numerous times to alert them that we go months without even receiving a billing notice...still havent received one for the last TWO months...and the ones we did get had a different amounts due based on these erroneous charges noted with no real explanation. It baffles me that they have online banking but you cant make an online loan payment?!?!? Hello, 21st century here :O) I could go on and on but suffice it to say this is the poorest staffed and run business I have encountered in my entire life and I have done lots of business with other smaller, and bigger establishment over the years!! I would recommend that if anyone mention doing business with the place that you RUN, RUN as fast as you can to any other bank or credit union! Maybe they should read [and ACT on] the numerous reviews out their about them...WTH!

I been with Alden for 7 years my 3rd loan yes Im on ssi I love making business with them Im paying right now as I write on a 5000 loan my credit is 729 I left hurt so depressed when they turned me down I told them do you know i have a loan at the moment for 5000 with only my ssi she laughed and said we change our policy two years ago thanks Alden when im done with this loan i Will close my account never will I recommend you guys again

These people are a joke stay far far far far away their customers are always getting their bank cards hacked they have zero security and when your bank card gets cancelled its not their problem apparently, they tried to charge me $100 to mail me my bank card when their bank card system was compromised. They are never friendly and always act like its your problem. Be weary very weary of these people they will smile in your face and not help you behind your back. I dont even understand how these people are still in business. They are an embarrassment to banking. Ive had my bank card hacked over five times in my 2 year span banking with his people. And they always try to act like its not their fault if you keep getting hacked dont you think they would be get better security. Very prissy and arrogant stay far far far away from aldenville.
