Emilia provided great customer service by assisting me and being friendly. She went above and beyond on helping me find a perfect foundation match. She took her time on helping me and I didn’t feel pressured on buying a certain item.

Mario cut my sons hair today. We were going for a Bradley Cooper- type look! Mario nailed it and showed us how to train his hair to fall back ( not down). Very pleased with our experience and will be back! 👍🌞

Worst place to buy cosmetics. Bare bottom products who can get over on Butte County as all things beautiful...maybe if youre under 25. Terrible, cheap smelling, and poor Customer service is why this gets a 1 to no star.🚫

First time visiting the Ulta Salon! MARIA did a balayage with blonde on my hair today and it turned out AMAZING! THANK YOU Maria for all that you did today..your truly a natural and Im SO happy with the results!!!!

Associates were up and ready to help find items and answer questions, just a tad pushy when trying to sell their services. Multiple cashiers were open and trying to get a membership started (which was quick). All in all not a horrible experience.

Went in for some lip gloss and found a great deal on an eye shadow palette. Found a few other things, but unfortunately the dont carry Dirty Little Secret brand in the store.

I usually have a good customer experience here, but I went in for a return a couple weeks ago, and I wont be going back. There was at least two other employees that had to have overheard the cashier that was processing my return, but they did not intervene. I posted a review after the incident the same day, but got no response. After a couple days, I contacted corporate and explained what happened. All I got was a generic email response with a promise that someone would reach out, but no one ever did. I know the email is a template, because I emailed again when I didnt get a call after a week, and got the same email.Heres the short version of what happened:The name on my return receipt read Theresa, so Im assuming thats her name. She wasnt wearing a name tag. I will say that she was pleasant until she requested that I sign for the return. I noticed that there were three items missing. I was not upset, but I did want my full refund, so I pointed out the mistake and did not sign. I meant no offense, I just wanted the nearly $60 missing from my return, but she flipped from sweet to sour suddenly.She was tossing around all the products I returned. She slammed the three missing products down on the counter in front of me. She was huffing and puffing. She was rubbing her forehead. She stated that she wanted to go home. She mumbled some stuff under her breath. She lectured me about having an emailed receipt instead of a printed one. Etc. etc. This all made for a very unpleasant experience.I dont know what her problem was. I asked if she was okay. I also suggested that someone else could help me, if it was the end of her shift and she needed to go. I just got the im fine, and its fine reply with an attitude. Clearly it was not fine. I dont know why her coworkers wouldnt help her or me. I just know that I went in there in a great mood, having a great day and left appalled.I feel unwelcome in that store and no one at Ulta seems to care, so Ill be shopping elsewhere for now on. I do not recommend shopping here.

This is a good Ulta, really glad they brought one here to Chico. The customer service here is just fine and its nice and clean inside. I like how theres a fairly large selection for fragrance and haircare. Sometimes its hard to find certain items around town but I think this store has given us a lot more options when it comes to beauty products. Of course its a little more pricey here than at other places but I suppose thats what you can expect from this company. Sometimes they have good sales for specific items each month or bonus goodies for buying certain products which is always good. Their mask selection is really cool too! You can find all kinds of unique things here, I would recommend this place if you dont mind spending a little extra money for some more upscale type products. Oh and you can also come here for hair cuts and styling and I think for eyebrows too.

I was expecting to go in the store and get zero help. It happened my first visit. This time complete opposite. I not only received help but she spent almost an hour showing me how to use the products I was buying. Thank you for making this old gal feel good about myself!

Very little customer help unless you go searching the store for someone to ask. I was there last night and there was no one in the higher end make up area to assist. The wait to check out can be long. I shopped Ulta in Denver Metro before moving back to Chico and loved going there. Was glad to see there was an Ulta now here, however, the service here doesnt even compare to my other store experiences.

Terrible Salon. Not professional at all. My appointment was at 12:30. She started at 1:00 and finished cutting my hair at 3:00. I didnt style my hair, not because I didnt want to, but because I wasted 2 hours just while she was cutting my hair!!!! It was true waste of time and money. The worst Salon ever

The girls are very nice. Store is very clean. Lots of veriety. Supplies for hair, face, body. Tools for hair etc.

There are open/used products on the shelves for sale, none of the employees speak to customers and seem to try to avoid customers at all cost. Sadly it’s the only Ulta around otherwise I would not go

They are very helpful and everything you need beauty supply wise is all under one roof!The Lancome eye brow pencil Ive used for years was discontinued, of course. I searched online and found one left on Amazon at twice the normal cost. I chose not to buy it. Went to different makeup counters in the Bay Area and couldnt find anything close to the color I had been using. On a trip to Ulta, they were launching a new line in Benefits and, I found a color that came pretty close to my original color. Cant wait to start using it!

I used the services of Ulta Hair Salon. I went in for a deep conditioning. I am very pleased with the results. My hair looks healthier than it has in years.I also bought perfume and I got some very nice perks.Everyone was friendly and willing to help. It was a pleasant experience. I will definitely be shopping there again.

I got a blow outdone by Maria and she did a fantastic job. I got so many compliments, also she offered to do a deep conditioning treatment on my hair as it colored and my hair looked amazing in photos the next day that I had done.

Just left from getting my hair cut by Mario. He did fantastic. I literally never know what to do with my hair and he helped me figure it out while sticking with what I did know I wanted. Never had a hairstylist I wanted to return to again until now. ;-)

Ulta overall is fabulous, I love that they carry prestige make-up brands AND drugstore brands. However this review is for this location. Its feast or famine with the staff. Ive been in and there arent enough sales people on the floor to help all the people that want help. Other times there are so many sales staff to help Im getting asked every few minutes if I need assistance. Id say its 50/50 that itll be over staffed or under staffed.Its also hit or miss with the help you can get. Some staff know their stuff but others not so much. Some of the times they dont have the answers they have directed me to someone else that does, but if theyre short staffed then it just means more waiting.But dont go in asking for samples! I found out that they dont give samples when I was shopping for a new foundation. They told me the makeup brands wont allow it, which is weird because you can get samples at Sephora. So youll have to go to there if you want samples.

I love Ulta because while here you can get help in finding different cosmetics and even hair care items. They are very knowledgeable and willing to help you.

Beautiful store, lots of products, drug store to prestige. Prices a little high on drug store stuff. Has a Benefit Brow Bar, hair products and salon. They sell some stuff you cannot get at The Other Store. But, that store has a lot of stuff you cant get here. The customer service was good. The rewards program is ok here, its great if you use MasterCard. I would recommend and will go back for certain things.

I walked in and bein as lost as a fish out of water was out in less than 20 minutes. The young lady took my phone ( which had a picture of the list my daughter sent me ) and said follow me. Small handful of items and small debt later I was on my way. Happy daughter to come, yet ole dad didnt learn much. List also didnt shrink much, lol.

I can get whatever I need here. Great people, great selection. Sometimes you get samples with your purchase. The store is immaculate, bright and warm. The parking is sometimes a challange because Costco shares the property. Ulta is worth it, youll find a spot if you keep trying. I adore the guy at the front counter, he never forgets to greet people.

Very good prices and staff is really helpful. They should have been in the Chico Mall. But with the Malls Management team they went elsewhere. I dont blame Ulta at all for not going to the mall. Chico Mall Sucks now because of Management

Came in to browse a couple brands, neither of which were sold there (Natasha Denona & Melt cosmetics) after asking about Natasha Denona the employee called over another to ask if the product was carried then continued bashing on the price of her make-up and who would pay so much, even comparing her prices to what they sold. (not all ND has a luxury price tag) Just unnerving especially considering I was asking for her products, I would pay. Not a good vibe and pretty much left right after a little sour feeling.

Worst service ever. I know after I get off work I may not look like I do make up for a living but I do and Im published for it! I cant believe that I would walk into a store and be discriminated against for being male. Not only did someone from the salon have to help us because everyone else refused to. The checker took the people behind us in line before us and pretended we werent there! I know most of the makeup professionals in town cant wait to tell them all about it! Thanks though to the salon in there for being so helpful!

This review is for the interior salon services, not the retail! My girlfriends and I booked hair styling and makeup appointments a month in advance for the four of us. When we showed up, they had only one stylist and makeup artist, three of us got hair styled in three hours (all the relative same styles as well, despite having asked for very different things) and only ONE of us got her makeup done!!! Both stylist and artist left to attend other appointments mid-session, and the other makeup artist came in 45mins late, showing up just as we got disgruntled enough to leave. Pleasant staff, just awfully inexperienced and terrible scheduling/staffing!!!

Charged 190.00 for hair color. They botched my hair color so bad. The girl was only 21 and inexperienced. Tried to fix but still bad. It looks like grey streaks insnstead of blonde

Horrible service. Sister and I came in last Saturday and all the employees ignored us. I needed help looking for something and had to go up to the counter to ask someone to help me because all the employees kept walking away. Sister needed to get color matched but the employee walked away before she could even ask. Tried to ask two others and they walked by like we werent there. They werent busy. We gave up and as we went to leave all the employees were standing at the counter goofing off. Third time in a row Ive had this kind of experience. The Tarte foundation I like is exclusive to Ulta which is the only reason I kept trying. Wont be back... Id rather wait two weeks for Tarte to ship it.

Sephora now has competition in town. Ulta carries some of the same brands, plus some and has a bigger variety. This location has a hair salon and the Benefit Brow Bar. Brow tinting is not available but all the Benefit ladies are wonderful. Enjoy!

I was extremely excited when I found out that they were opening an Ulta in Chico so I made a trip there on my day off from work. The employees there werent rude but werent very friendly, welcoming, or helpful and the manager was just plain rude (rolling her eyes and had an attitude) so I left and went to Sephora where I was welcomed and wanted.. Never coming to this location ever again. Customer service is horrible!

I noticed the customer service was not the best, but I shop online now. I love walking around in the store. I found quality makeup and items. The store keeps up well with trends. Shopping online saves me a trip to the store asnd gives me the space to think what to buy.

Im not a shopper here myself but from how much my girlfriend likes this place, Id say its a very good place to get makeup and other personal care items.

This is the one stop place for all your beauty needs! To me ULTA is the Disneyland of makeup, I enjoy my experience every time, the Chico store is very helpful and friendly.

Went to get my hair colored. After 2 and a half hours putting in the foils (and my hair is not very thick) I told the stylist that I didnt want my hair cut because I was meeting a friend and had not planned to be here so long. Apparantly that meant to her dont towel dry my hair, use a big paddle brush to swipe my hair a few times and send me out looking like a drowned rat.Thankfully I had a clip to put my hair up. When I got home after meeting my friends, my hair was still damp so i put some leave in conditioner into the straw that is now my hair and tried to comb it. My hair either pulled out or broke off. Totally disgusted because Im going to have to wash the color down the drain tomorrow and do a treatment to try and repair the destruction.

Ive been in a few times. Always had help. Used the eyebrow bar talked to some ladies who worked their. Then my fam. brought in my grandma who had a stroke. She had little to no use use of her dominant hand. Not only did ULTA help her figure out how to put on make and feel beautiful they invited her and us (5 women) for beauty make up for my grandmas birthday! I have been nothing but impressed by the products but more importantly the people

This place has a huge range of brands, cheap and expensive ones. The mark up isnt bad. However, the employees dont keep it very clean. Sample makeup is always smeared everywhere.

My wife and I drove from out of town to purchase one last minute gift. Raced to the door as the employee was locking it and asked if I could please buy one $100 gift card. She rudely replied that I could return tomorrow morning at 8am. I explained that I drove from out of town and saw that there were still two customers in the store but she told me it was a safety issue now that she was locking the door. Hmmmmm The two customers still in the store and lights all on but my $100 purchase was a safety Issue..... Needless to say Sephora will be ringing me up in the future. Horrible customer service here. Remember 1 happy customers tells 1 person and 1 unhappy customer tells 10.

If i could give a zero star rating then i would. the employees are just downright rude & awful. i brought in some things to return & they just rolled their eyes, even after i apologized. then told me i couldnt return them because ive already returned a few things within 365 days. the manager is just awful as well. if you dont like your job & you dont like working with people then i suggest YOU QUIT. not to mention some lady kept following me around like i was going to steal something!. ive never been treated so poorly in my life. this is the absolute last time that im ever coming here. ill be going to sephora from now on. at least they like their job (or pretend to at least.)
