Both he and his assistant were extremely professional. They diagnosed my shoulder issue and immediately began a course of treatment. Dr. Garrigues’ demeanor created complete confidence in him. He communicates extremely well, takes time with you and is friendly. I found his personal skills to be on par with his academic transcript, which is saying a hell of a lot. This has been my best surgical experience to date… the entire staff from my first doctor office visit, the surgery itself, follow up, to six month check up has been professional, considerate, efficient, and kind.Dr. Garrigues has an incredible staff and he is the most personable doctor I’ve ever met as well as obviously very good at putting shoulders back together! Every follow up visit came with X-rays which was very reassuring to me. During a follow up visit I had several questions, even though both of us were standing, he had us both sit down - he was willing to give me the time to address my concerns.When I saw his online video of how he felt about his patients, I thought “that’s who I want taking care of me” - I was not disappointed.

Phenomenal experience. From the beginning Dr. Garrigues took exceptional care of me as a person and a patient. He took all the time I needed, which was a lot, to explain his diagnosis and treatment alternatives. I never felt rushed. The practice runs smoothly and I never found myself sitting around waiting to get my appointment underway.As for the outcome, it is so much better than I expected. After I smashed my shoulder in a fall, Grant Garrigues repaired it with a reverse shoulder surgery. In our first meeting Dr. Garrigues assured me that after the surgery and diligent physical therapy I would be able to resume kayaking and playing pickle ball. Promises made, promises kept. After a six month rehab I am back enjoying my favorite summer pastimes! Dr. Garrigues is not just a superb surgeon— he and his PA Elle are knowledgeable, caring and empathetic. They fully explained the surgery and recovery beforehand. Any time I called with a question during my recovery, I got a callback within hours. The first time I was diagnosed with a SLAP Tear was in summer 2014 while training with the PR Beach Volleyball National Team for the Youth Olympics in Nanjing. With such a big commitment, I did not get surgery back then and was able to play after an intensive rehab program. During all these years, PT helped alleviate the pain so I can keep playing volleyball in a competitive level, but did not allow me to get to the next level since I was always having shoulder issues. It was not until I had to quit a volleyball game in a tournament because of the pain in my shoulder that I started looking for a shoulder specialist. Being a prolific bone spur producer I am not a stranger to joint replacements. Both knees and both hips and just scheduled my shoulder replacement with Dr Garrigues. He and his team gave me all information needed and I left my appointment feeling confident I made the right decision with his practice and Midwest Orthopedics.

Dr. Garrigues was highly recommended by my PT. Him and his staff are excellent at listening to my concerns, explaining what the issue, or issues, might be, and giving clear information on next steps. Ive been to see him twice. Hes not rushing to suggest surgery but instead other treatments and continuing PT. My experiences have been all positive.

I had had persistent discomfort in my shoulder for almost 10 years that had suddenly increased to full out pain. I was certain I would need surgery because it was so painful. Dr. Garrigues recognized even by my relatively basic description of the pain what the issue was. He sent me to physical therapy and and he was absolutely correct with his diagnosis. With some PT my shoulder is well on its way to healing. Im very thankful he knew what he was talking about.

Giving a review on the services of someone is very difficult. Dr. Garrigues and his various assistants (Elle I think is her name and spelling lol) are so wonderful. I’m very thankful for everyone, and their patience. I have not been a model patient. With all that being said I’m doing pretty doggone good I will say. I’m very relaxed and at ease when speaking with them. I understand that they are quite a bit smarter than me, but I have never been made to feel that I am less than them. I could go on and on but this has to be short and sweet. So I would just like to say thank you Dr. Garrigues and and the team for all you do for an old fat guy like me.

Dr Garrigues treated me in early July for a shoulder problem. After a thorough examination with an x-ray and MRI he diagnosed my problem as bursitis and not a rotator cuff problem as I had thought. He felt that with an injection and six weeks of therapy I would be good as new. His diagnosis was correct and now in September I’m feeling good as new. He is very good at what he does.

I am very late with review of Dr. Garrigues as my left shoulder was replaced about 18 months ago. He is outstanding with follow up and is an excellent surgeon. I did as instructed during physical therapy and my recovery was much quicker than I anticipated. Also, the Oakbrook location is very convenient to living in western burbs. While I hope I don’t have to do it again, if I do, he’s the one I’m going to!

I suffered a comminuted fracture at the distal third of my humerus (from armwrestling!!). I also developed radial nerve palsy immediately following the injury. Doctor Garrigues performed this highly complex surgery, explored the nerve and my recovery so far has been amazing - i have no pain, full ROM (even extension) and even the nerve is starting to come back! Dr Garrigues is also a really caring doctor. I had worried about infections post surgery and it was during thanksgiving. So he gave me his phone number and asked me to send him videos and pics even throughout the holidays! He truly cares about his patients and together with his competency I believe makes him the best doctor to go for humerus injury!

On 6/8/19, I fractured my elbow. On 6/17/19, Dr. Garrigues performed surgery on it. On 7/8/19 I started therapy. On 9/18/19 Dr. Garrigues said the elbow was solid as a rock and, I was released. I will continue to work on my strength but, all in all my left arm/elbow is near 100% of what it was before the accident. Crazy good result! Thanks Doc!

I cant say enough about my left shoulder replacement by Dr. Garrigues. I had my right shoulder replaced 12 years ago. It took me close to a year to get my arm over my head. My left shoulder replacement by Dr. Garrigues, took about 2 weeks. Incredible difference in recovery time. Five months after surgery I have absolutely no pain and complete movement of my arm. I owe a lot of appreciation to Dr. Garrigues and the staff at Rush. Simply the Best!!!!

Dr. Garrigues repaired my ruptured pectoralis major. It is an uncommon surgery, and Dr. Garrigues did a great job repairing the tear. My chest is back to its normal appearance, and I am functioning at a high level again. I highly recommend Dr. Garrigues and his team.

I had been experiencing on and off shoulder pain for a while. At its best, it was annoying. At its worst, I was in tears and losing sleep. I was hesitant to get surgery because of how recovery would impact my lifestyle. Less than 3 months after surgery, I’m back to my favorite activities. I consultant Dr Grant Garrigues after a bicycle accident for a recovery plan for a fractured humerus. I visited him three days post the accident and after treatment received by an ER in Chicago. After looking at my shoulder, Dr. Garrigues took extra time to make sure the stitches in my elbow was healing. Dr. Grant discovered an infection in elbow, removed the stitches and found me the immediate care I needed. If it was not for his intervention and taking the extra time I would have been in a very different place today. He is a pretty amazing doctor! I agree with all of the other patients of Dr. Garrigues. He is a highly qualified surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. Dr. Garrigues is patient, gentle, encouraging, easy to talk to, yet always highly professional. After having a shoulder replacement in 2013, I had an accident in June where I shattered my humerus causing it to totally detach from my shoulder replacement, and break into many pieces. I was told I needed to see a trauma surgeon, and Dr. Garrigues was recommended. From the time of my complicated surgery I began a complete recovery that I enjoy today. I wish to thank Dr. Garrigues and his helpful, cheerful staff who are all rated A+ in my book!

Dr. Garrigues is a miracle worker, a kind and gentle one as well. I shattered my right shoulder in a cycling accident in Chile: broken clavicle, scapula and multiple rib fractures. My ortho in Chile and my hometown ortho would’t touch the injury. They agreed I needed to find the best possible shoulder surgeon in the US due to the severity of my injury and the complicated issues presented. My sons located Dr. G. He performed the surgery soon after I returned from Chile. I have full range of motion, zero pain and can do anything I loved to do before the surgery. I was in the hospital in mid-December after surgery. On Saturday night he stopped to check on me. It was obvious he was on his way to a Christmas party yet he took time to visit me. Not only did he get me on track he gave me the confidence to excel in my recovery. I’m forever grateful. I recommended him to a dear friend recently and she came away raving about him as well. Dr Garrigues is a great doctor kind and personable . Excellent care . He follows in Dr Romeos footsteps with brilliant care but also very caring and knowledgeable . Rush has made a great asset with having Dr Garrigues in the staff at Midwest orthopedics . I have gone to Midwest for over 16 years to many in the faculty . He is one of the best I ve ever had . Dr. Garrigues is excellent. He took the time to explain my shoulder injury and what all of my options are. I am in physical therapy trying to avoid surgery. I like the fact that Dr Garrigues takes a conservative approach. we thought there was a possibility of fixing my left shoulder with something short of a full shoulder replacement but after an MRI we found then it would require a full replacement as would the right shoulder. I am holding off on surgery to see if I can deal with pain being minimized with shots every 6 months. The injections seem to be working fine.

I met Dr. Garrigues when my father had a significant accident that presented a very challenging case according to all surgeons we consulted, including Dr. Garrigues. The reviews of Dr. Garrigues surgical skills seem to be well outlined here. From a different perspective, I was the main family member responsible for being on site during the operations, asking questions, and trying to understand all this stuff as best I could! Unfortunately I have had a fair amount of experience in this role, and Dr. Garrigues was second to none. After a rather long procedure that ended sometime around 1 AM, I honestly did not expect to see him which would have been understandable as we had a significant hospital stay ahead of us. To the contrary, Dr. Garrigues came to the patient waiting area and we discussed all aspects of the operation and upcoming recovery at length, probably for 45 or an hour. He was detailed and patient in my asking questions, and took care to make sure I was comfortable with my knowledge of things. I would refer anyone to Dr. Garrrigues.

Dr. Garrigues is Fabulous! He’s extremely knowledgeable, experienced, very professional, compassionate, down-to-earth and easy to talk with. In March 2019, he performed my rotator cuff surgery to repair major rotator cuff tears and address bicep tendon damage. Prior to the surgery I had significant pain and a limited range of motion.Before meeting Dr. Garrigues I was a bit apprehensive about undergoing rotator cuff surgery having heard numerous reports from friends and family that had shoulder surgery (by other non-MOR surgeons) and said the experience and rehab were very painful and generally awful.Dr. Garrigues greatly impressed my wife and I at my first appointment. He is very easy to talk with, has a great bedside manner, and genuinely cares about his patient’s concerns and treatment. Some highly-credentialed doctors talk at you, not with you – not the case with Dr. Garrigues. He explained all of my options and was not rushing to or pushing surgery. I had prepared several detailed questions about the surgery, the recovery rate, the rehab process, etc. He patiently answered all of my questions completely. He and his staff are easily accessible and very responsive. I had a couple of questions the day after surgery and I received a response within a couple of hours. He, his staff – and the MOR Rehab facility, were all wonderful to work with. I’m well on my way to recovery and looking forward to playing golf again.I highly recommend Dr. Garrigues to anyone needing shoulder surgery. You’ll receive great treatment from a great team!

Just had my fully torn rotator cuff reattached 2 weeks ago by Dr Garrigues . Everything went great and I had only mild discomfort for a few days. Dr Garrigues was great diagnosing my injury and explaining my options.yesterday I was in to have my stitches removed and a checkup. Dr Garrigues went over each photograph of my arthroscopic surgery explaining the procedure. I highly recommend Dr Garrigues to anyone who’s in pain or have mobility problems with there shoulder. 10/10Also his P.A Elle was excellent very friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful when I had questions .

Dr. Garrigues and team are excellent doctors/surgeons! At the end of March this year, I broke my lower humerus and had horrible nerve damage. I was told by the ER docs that I would need surgery and I was introduced to Dr. Garrigues through a family friend of a friend. I was well educated about my surgery before and after, & the recovery process was better than I expected. I am already back to my normal self 3 months later with a new, cute scar on the back of my arm! Prior to meeting Dr. Garrigues, I had 1 surgery by a different doctor at a different hospital that was not successful and I was still in a lot of pain. After being told by the doctor of the first surgery that I had an irreparable rotator cuff tear, I was referred to Rush Orthopedics. When I had my first appointment with Dr. Garrigues, he was detailed in understanding what had happened so far. He provided much needed education and explanation that no other doctor had provided thus far. Based on my previous surgery experience I asked a lot of questions and Dr. Garrigues was patient in answering every single one. Dr. Garrigues did an excellent job explaining the surgery he would be doing and the options he expected to possibly encounter. Never at any point in the process was I left with unanswered questions. I am extremely happy to report that Dr. Garrigues was able to repair the tear! I am now in physical therapy working on a full recovery. Because I live over 2 hours from Chicago, I am doing my physical therapy in my area. Even with the distance, Dr. Garrigues has stayed connected with me every step of the way. I am thankful to Dr. Garrigues and his exceptional care!
