The International Psychology PhD program online is amazing. What a great way to learn and be educated. Field experience courses are key in building relationships. The faculty are amazing and kind and responsive.

You will be ok here if you are white. Typical for-profit, gate keeping colonialist school. Dare to complain about a profesor, they will be promoted for it! But wait, that sane person in the point of contact for student concerns so why even bother! If you are in the PhD program, mind that you wont get to pick your chair. This is so important because when these relationships dont work, you will be adding time to your time there meaning more student debt (~$1500 per cr hr). They do have a diversity team, composed by white faculty members! What a scam.

The Applied Behavior Analysis department is extremely supportive and knowledgeable. I completed my Master’s in ABA & I am now a PhD student in the ABA program! I’ve landed successful BCBA jobs in this career & couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend it! Oh, can’t forget to mention the beautiful view of the Chicago river and skyline while you study on campus. 🤓😎

I attend this college and am projected to graduate in 2022 with a BA In Psychology with a special interest alcohol and drug addiction. It is a leap from the school I previously attended Argosy U, to say the least. The teachers are helpful and friendly. I love it & I am learning a lot. I highy recommend the school anyone.

I went to this school back in 2015-2016. I was living near the school at the time, but I had to move over 4 hours away after escaping domestic violence. This school hires professors that do not want to see domestic violence victims succeed. Put your money elsewhere. Here is my story:Even with my broken wrist, I managed to complete the courses and coursework, and for a time, the professors were understanding of my situation, since I was not cleared to go back to work yet and was relying on my financial aid to pay for basic things like my phone and my health bills related to my wrist.I ended up getting cleared to go back to work, and had the job opportunity of a lifetime present itself to me. I accepted so I could get back on my feet. However, this was around the same time I had to complete one of my first residency requirements. My student adviser at the time was willing to work with me and found a course that I could take to meet my work life needs. However, it was the only option available to me. Since I had to leave for training for two weeks, the work campus did not allow personal business to be conducted on their computers, which included school work. I emailed my professor, and explained to him the situation that I was going to be gone for training when the class began and explained to him my predicament, asking for a compromise so I wouldnt lose my job. Part of the coursework was to attend GoToMeeting lectures. However, due to the nature of my work, I was unable to stream these lectures as no recording cameras were allowed. I explained all of this to him in e-mails. He did not listen to my emails, giving me responses that made it seem like he wasnt even reading my e-mails, and forwarded me back to the student adviser and washed his hands of it. Ultimately, after enduring a layover at an airport after training had finished, this professor expected me to attend a Go-To-Meeting class with two hours of sleep, then berate me for my lack of participation, after explaining to him my jobs requirements and rules, and what had happened since a hurricane caused a delay and lengthy layover on my flight.Thankfully, I am working now, but I wished I never had attend this school. This school only put me further in debt and now I cant even attend the school I want.

Terrible institution with awful policies that make it clear they just want money. I am a disabled veteran who was using the GI Bill and attended this school but had to leave due to medical reasons so I withdrew within a week but the way they operate caused me to be in between 2 different deadlines that charged me full price for tuition but unable to have the time bill pay for the tuition. So they’re billing me thousands of dollars for basically 1 class period. I recommend avoiding this school if you’re serious about getting a quality education without the hassle of terrible policies and poor service.

From the Counseling Psychology program perspective, my experience have been exceptional! From the knowledge of the professors to the structured placement process and classroom agendas, I love it! It has been a life changer for me, considering what I’ve learned during my 2 1/2 years here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have experience on the subjects they’re teaching. You are provided a professional development coach to help maintain stability in classes and graduate on time. Someone is always there to answer questions or help in ways they can. All staff is professional and lead towards the process of your professional development as well . Classes are flexible and class sizes are comfortable ( max 15 students unless blended). I’m currently considering my Phd from here as well.

I completed the IM-CANS training for my fieldwork internship at theThe Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and I was incredibly impressed with the instructors. It demonstrated that their faculty are not only clinically experienced with the content, but also incredibly attuned to culturally sensitive engagement when applying to diverse populations. Also, for anyone looking to do online due to COVID or due to a need to relocate, Raul Cruz is extremely knowledgable and helpful. He gave direct, accurate information on licensing (California is a doozy) as well as made the extra effort to reach out to the other programs to provide me additional options. THANK YOU!

Thank you for the incredible kind courteousy from Mrs. Donna Shaw after my masters program with Argosy was shut down. The news of school closing was a shock to me & I was honestly just frozen. Thanks to this incredible woman and the knowledge and compassion she has shown, I feel hope re-entering to begin the last part of my masters with this incredible school and try once more.

1. They can take weeks or even months to respond to certain e mails you send depending on the department. They will mislead you at first and be ready to respond until you are enrolled and then everything changes.2. Be prepared to have to travel two hours one way for practicums unless you want your professors calling you and asking why they got in trouble with the department chair after you reached out for help3. Even after you graduate, you have to fight for your diploma. I graduated last June and found out in November that a professor didn’t change a pending grade to a passing grade, so I didn’t get my diploma until March. Huge issue for job hunting.4. As alumni, I reached out asking my department to complete a form so I could be nationally certified. They completed the form extremely unprofessionally, with their e mail address appearing with @fu instead of the full @thechicagoschool.edu -the professor claimed they got distracted while writing it and offered to refill out the forms I needed, but I didn’t know how long that would take so I just sent the unprofessional forms to the National Association of School Psychologists to let them see how this school functions. Hopefully I can still get nationally certified despite this school’s lack of professionalism.5. They will change expectations for a class format a week prior to the start of a semester. I was told a particular class would be online and discovered a week prior that I would have to commute into the city for an evening class after I had already set up a specific practicum schedule based on when I thought I simply had online classes. It was a mess.6. Regardless of all this, they don’t acknowledge when they’re wrong and claim they’re being professional and you misinterpreted information, even if you have screenshots and copies of proof that show otherwise. So my advice is to run. Run far away and find a different school. It was too late for me and I had too many credits to make transferring work from a financial standpoint by the time I realized what a terrible school this is. Good luck in your search! I got what I needed at the end of the day from my experience, but it was not worth it. There are some great professors and the academic portion of the school is challenging and informative. However, go somewhere else if you can.

Im a current student at The Chicago School and I really love my teachers! Each one has a unique way of teaching and all seem very happy with the students. My other options for schools were very expensive but this school has reasonable tuition prices. They also didnt connect with me and what I was searching for in my school. Thankfully, this school connects with me, and understood what I was searching for quality wise in my schooling career. I recommend this school for anyone who is looking for reasonable prices and good quality overall in a school for psychology.

Legitimately the WORST school E V E R. The teachers don’t even know how to do their jobs, they don’t answer any questions, are completely unreliable, and are absolutely worthless (with a small exception of maybe 3 teachers). The financial aid system is a complete JOKE, no one in that office knows a damn thing about financial aid, they can never answer questions or be helpful, they take FOREVER to “get back to you”, and they bounce you from one person to the next because they’re each helpless. I mean, the THREE people I talked to didn’t even know the difference between “student loans”, “scholarships”, and “grants”. Absolutely ridiculous. The tuition is outrageous for a school that is completely below par. I really wish I had switched schools after my first year instead of “hoping it will get better”, because it WONT. Don’t even waste your time, energy, or money. This school and everyone involved in it is a complete joke. All these 5 stars you see are probably workers because no one in their right mind who has attended this school would ever rate it higher than 1 Star. Be warned. GO ELSEWHERE.

I am a second year student in The Chicago School of Psychologys School Psychology program at the Chicago campus. It is expensive, but I do believe I am getting a quality education here. This program really emphasizes neuropsychology and trauma-focused, which is becoming much more important in the school psych field. I feel that they do a good job of preparing us in using assessments and writing the reports in a way that parents and non-experts can understand. The professors are very supportive and want you to do well in the program. They do listen to our feedback and adjust the curriculum accordingly. They put us into the field our very first year, so you are getting practical experience in addition to classroom experience. TCS does have a good reputation in the school psych field and I have had several schools I have interviewed at mention that they have had TCS interns work there previously and that they like hiring people from our school because we know what we are doing.

I considered attending this university for post graduate work. However, as a disabled military veteran my entitlements are limited. I notified the academic counselors office and received a rude backhanded comment. Now, Im happy with my decision not to attend. The lack of professionalism and courtesy is a testament of the experience this school has to offer.

Living in Chicago, I have seen firsthand how underserved our Latino population is when it comes to mental health. Being bilingual, I wanted to do something to help this, so I enrolled in The Chicago School’s counseling psychology master’s program with a focus on Latino mental health. My courses have been incredibly helpful both in terms of learning about counseling and in terms of learning what I need to know about Latino culture. I have learned how to be sensitive and effective and feel very strongly that the school has prepared me to help a population group that has been largely ignored by our community.

Im currently half way through the program at The Chicago School, and I could not be happier with my progress in the program. Im from the Chicago metropolitan area, and I was trying to find the right school for me to get my psychology degree. Most of my other options were private schools that had such exorbitant tuition costs. They also were not as conveniently located. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, is not only much closer to my home, but a much better value. I seriously suggest anyone interested in obtaining a career in Psychology, that you check out The Chicago School!

I’m currently in the MACC program on the Chicago campus of TCS having signed up after a friend graduated here and she had almost nothing but good things to say about the curriculum and the professors; they are knowledgeable, professional and more than willing to help and give advice. An education is priceless- in this economy if you don’t have a good education you’re really going to have a hard time finding a decent job and unemployment only lasts so long. While teaching psychology may not make me rich I’ll be doing more than just barely getting by. The best part is that I’ll be enabling students to go out and help others while feeling good about the job I have. While I sincerely love my three and four year-old students that I’m currently overseeing as a preschool teacher, I’m ready to move on in my career to something that is a little more advanced than finger painting.
