The Junior League of Chicago has truly changed my life. As a former teacher, I sought out this organization specifically to utilize my skills and pursue my passion for empowering and educating young women. The JLC has helped me grow into a strong leader, a community advocate, and all around strong woman.

If youre looking for a womens service and leadership development organization, look no further than the Junior League of Chicago! This group of women are engaged civic leaders positively impacting the community. The JLC is a great way to make friends and connections if youre new to the city, but also a great way to reconnect with the community if youve lived in Chicago for a long time. Being a member of the JLC is highly rewarding, personally and professionally!

Junior League of Chicago is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League offers its members extensive training in areas such as leadership and organizational development, community needs assessment, strategic planning, communications, advocacy and fundraising. Equipped with this training, Junior League members know their communities well and know how to get things done.My League work certainly helped teach me the importance of volunteerism, the power of teamwork for a cause you care about and giving back some of what you have received. Our greatest contribution to the Chicago community is encouraging people to contribute their time to build a better community!

Junior League of Chicago as I see it, is an organized as a means of expressing the feeling of social responsibility for the conditions which surrounded us. We have the responsibility to act, and we have the opportunity to conscientiously act to affect the environment around us. I volunteer with the fundraisers and if we didnt have such a strong group of woman volunteering to create fundraisers we would not have this organization.
