I give Thresholds 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!I have been with Thresholds for nearly 3 yrs. as a Member ParticipantπŸ‘πŸ»Being a team member case manger Is a hard job. it takes good hearts and minds to work as hard as they do. πŸ‘‰Its often thankless work. long hrs. and little pay.πŸ‘‰Nothing is perfect in this world. having reasonable acceptations helps. πŸ‘‰Having mental illness. depression & anxiety. and being a high functioning autistic. as I am. is not easy to cope alone. with no family or friends.πŸ‘‰Thresholds provides good case managers/therapists/advocacy. They have many locations and programs. addressing all manor of needs 🏑 πŸ¦·πŸ›ŒΒ πŸ©Ί and personalities.πŸ‘πŸ»I cherish them deeply.πŸŒ»πŸ‘‰They have been there for me in my darkest hrsπŸ•―and never given up on me. when others have.πŸ‘‰They are my people.πŸ’• they are my lifeline.πŸŒˆπŸ‘‰Identifying as an artist. I receive tremendous support and resources. to use art🎨 therapeutically. One must feel safe to play and do art.πŸ‘‰Imagine other states. and even countries.πŸ˜• that dont provide full spectrum mental health services. such as Thresholds.πŸ‘‰I am grateful. deeply so. I love them.πŸ’• for keeping me safe. and seeing me as I am. beyond my broken self.πŸ™ƒπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»They never forsaken us during the holidaysπŸ—πŸŽ„πŸŽ‰πŸ°πŸŽπŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽ‚πŸ¦ƒThank You😊Always Thresholds! Thresholds is one of the most reputable mental health agencies in the country. They provide comprehensive, multifaceted, and holistic services designed for intermediate and long-term rehabilitation and recovery. They have the most competent and empathetic clinical staff who are proficient in conducting assessments and evaluation. I especially have gratitude for the outreach teams, including ACT and CST. I have been a loyal member of Thresholds since I was a young adult and have first-hand knowledge of the transformative work they do in the community. Thanks for reading.Jesse A. Bella

ZERO STARS! The staff are ignorant to my little sister.. She tells me they leave her out of things like taking everyone else out and leaving her there and they dont feed her on the weekends bc they are trying to teach them to be more independent.. I honestly think its a bunch of bs. They are really bogus to her all the time picking on her and stuff.. They never tell me whats going on w her. I think they are trying to hide it. I can tell its made my sister very depressed.. Im really trying to get her and my other sister out of this situation. Her home treats her badly too... its not alright. How are these people not getting in trouble???! And how can you not feed a person 2 days in a row I know they need to be more independent and get a job but if they dont have one at the moment then are they supposed to starve??!?!?!? Its ridiculous.

I would rate you 0 stars if I could, I have seen other abusive mental health agencies and facilities out there like this one and I always wonder how any of the workers in these places can sleep at night after seeing all the horrible and violent things being done to your clients each day much less after doing them yourselves but hey thats your problem not mine, my goal here is to warn others of the pain they will endure here and of the humliation and the outright torture they may experence here as well as the massive neglect they will have to endure here as well as the lies deciet and deception and to say if at all possible please avoid Thresholds its not at all what they will lie to you and say it is

This is the worse Social Service Agency I ever had to deal with in all my 30+ years of dealing with Social Service Agencys. These Case Managers are young and untrained. They lack knowledge wisdom and good bedside manners. And, most of them display a lack of real care. They have no idea of what they are doing. Most of them do not have advanced degrees and this is most of their first job out of college.I would not refer anyone to this agency! BEWARE!

UPDATE: I have been attending Group Meetings and One on One Therapy at Thresholds Dincin Center. 4101 N. Ravenswood. And I have been a member of Thresholds for ten years. My experience there has been a mixed bag. The group facilitators are good for the most part. Though you have some new ones that are not genuine. Some show signs of that they are only there because its a job. And sometimes show signs that they are distressed. The Group sessions are not consistent. So you can find yourself sitting around for hours waiting for the next group to take place. Or you can socialize. The problem with that is that there different degrees of Mental Illness there. There have been incidences of violence and violent out burst behaviour. I have recovered from Mental Illness. So at times its hard to socialize with other members who are not on the same level as I. And that causes problems. A long time staff member Group Facilitator/ Counselour of ten years was let go. Carl Hippensteel was a great Group Facilitator and Counselour. Carl shared his experience in the Mental Health and Illness profession and was very professional, personal and just a very well liked guy by clients (members). We were told that he would not be returning. Carl was not given the chance to speak with us about his departure. There has been verbal testimony that Carl has saved and improved many lives. We all are very upset and feel the lost. Many got upset and cried. I circulated a letter to be signed by members. On how we feel and demanded an explanation. The signed letter was given to the administration, indicating how lost the members feel, without Carl. Its been a week now and they refuse to respond. If you suffer from Mental Illness than Thresholds is a good place to go. Though I do not recommend the Dincin Center at Thresholds Ravenswood location. Instead try Thresholds Empowerment Center located at Balmoral and Broadway. Just south off the Red Line BrynMar stop. Smaller groups. No sitting around or inconsistent groups meetings. No violence or verbal violent outburst there. Breakfast and lunch served with a five minutes breaks between groups, and you can even do your laundry for free at the site while you are attending groups. I highly recommend the Thresholds Empowerment Center! Or the Freedom Center located at 2045 W. grand. Lunch and breakfast served. And you can do laundry there for free while you attend group meetings as well.

Landlords beware. We collaborated with Threshholds ( Yolanda and Shaquita Watson Hampton and Shamiqua Walker)to help provide housing for low income tenants, and were so disappointed with the outcome. The organization was supposed to pay the rent for multiple apartments that they convinced us to rent to these low income individuals, and then they refuse to cover the tab and shirked from responsibility! How could a social sercvice organization sabbotage both the people they are claiming to help, as well as the small businesses that made themselves vulnerable for a worthy cause? On top of these dissappointing and irresponsible actions, the organization never provided a heads up regarding their decision to no longer pay the rent. I had to call them three times to even find out that they have decided not to pay the rent. This shouldnt be too surprising as their payments were almost always late, and they reflected unprofessionalism throughout our relationship. Yolanda, the head of placement, actually had the audacity to tell me that the organization will refuse to cover THEIR bills because they let one of the women from the organization go, and wish to shirk responsibility from all the contacts she heped make while being an employee there. We wish to prevent good people and small business from having similar experiences. Its unfortunate that I wanted to help and now screwed my company over due to an irresponsible organization like this one. Ill make sure to contact all watchdog organizations outthere so no one gets scammed like this again. This organization is ruining the reputation of a worthy cause through their unprofessional and deception.

When the Skokie office was still there they were Great But as with all funding cutbacks they closed the Skokie office leaving my wife in a lurch. I know the staff is good at what they do cause they helped my wife to gain 9 months of life at home...when the office closed she was unable to stay stable and is hospitable bound at this time. I want to congratulate the Skokie team on the outstanding job they did , but we will need services close to HOMEThank u Thresholds
