I’ve been seeing Maeva since June 2018 when she was at Ascend. She’s my first and only massage therapist thus far. I came across her after searching on Yelp, when my job offered a monthly wellness benefit, and my office job made me realize it’s time to invest in my health and the importance of getting the treatment I need. I started going sporadically, and then ultimately made the decision that I need to be consistent in order for this process to work. Naturally, I came back to Maeva (never went to a different therapist, just decided to not go for a period of time to try to cut cost) and started seeing her again before covid when my body is starting to give in, and I’ve been going back to her every 4 weeks for a 2 hour session. The 2 hour session is tailored to your needs and your goals. I love that she uses a combination of deep tissue, Swedish, and trigger point therapy. I love that she explains why she is doing what she’s doing and where you’ll feel her working your body. I always look forward to her sessions because I leave feeling relieved. It’s always a hurt so good kind of feeling, she’s been healing my post-surgical left ankle and my right knee cap, and whenever I tell her where I’m feeling discomfort — she somehow knows exactly where my pain is and I’m grateful for that. It’s amazing when your massage therapist just knows where your problem spots are and being able to find a solution to that. I highly recommend the 2 hour sessions, so she can spend all of her time and energy on you, and you can get the most out of your time there.

This was a great experience! From the massage, the conversation, even the music was great! Everything about this experience was awesome. My neck and shoulders have been constantly tight, so I decided to try Sorely Kneaded, and I will be back again! A few days later my neck and shoulders were able to move. Day one I was sore, but in a good way! I have been searching for a place like this for awhile and found one! I would highly recommend if you are needing true massage therapy!

I have a lot of chronic back pain and have been seeking the perfect massage for years. Never found it until someone got me a Sorely Kneaded gift card! The trigger point work is everything I always dreamed of. Maeva asks where the pain is and sometimes the spot she starts to massage seems totally unrelated, but its right on the money and I can feel the healing happening on the table. You can tell she really cares a lot- we even text about pains that come up here and there between sessions. Seriously could not recommend enough!

I loved that Maeva fulfilled the duties of a true “massage-therapist”. It was one of the most painful massages I’ve ever had but two days later I feel like brand new and pain free! I appreciated how she walked me through what she was doing and why. Coming from a medical background it helped me to understand why it hurt and how I can fix it going forward. I wasn’t looking for a Swedish feel good massage (which I’m sure she can provide as well), I was looking for true therapy to help me feel better. I appreciated her guidance and recommendations. I will definitely be going back!!

Sorely Kneaded is the real deal. This is the place to go when your body needs fixing and healing. Im sure Maeva can do feel-good, relaxing massages too, but she is a magician with digging out the pain so that your body can heal. I agree with all of the other reviewers that have provided stellar reviews. Im providing this review in the hope that it helps Maeva, but I must admit that I would prefer not to let all of Chicago know of the best massage therapist...

First visited with severe lower back pain and was able to get some type of relief. Maeva is very knowledgeable and explains everything she does and why she does it. It hurts so good but it’s worth it.

Maeva is a sensitive and talented masseuse. She tuned in very quickly to my needs and ensured every aspect of our session was designed to meet them. Im a returning client and I would recommend to anyone.

I cant recommend Sorely Kneaded and Maeva highly enough. I was having issues with some pretty specific and tiny muscles in my arms from repetitive stress. Maeva was able to help alleviate the problem within just a few sessions, and was great about listening to me before and during our sessions to target the problem. A great listener, exceptionally nice, and outstanding at what she does. There is nothing more to ask for from a massage therapist. You will not regret choosing her.

Maeva is beyond skilled. She is highly educated in trigger point therapy(and with other techniques, this is just what I always get done) and will customize your massage to your needs, every single time. In addition, she provides a calming demeanor that helps to bring relaxation to a form of massage(trigger point therapy) that, at times, can be a somewhat uncomfortable, depending on how tight you might be. To note, she will always adjust her technique and pressure to meet your level of comfort. Within the times of COVID, Maeva has gone above and beyond to ensure all the necessary precautions are taken. Upon arrival she was wearing a mask, had on a new apron and no other clients were in the space. The room was clean and ready to go. During the massage she was willing to wear gloves if preferred, however used hand sanitizer, either way, prior to any body work. She continued to wear a face mask the entire time, as did I. I continue to have exceptional body work done by Maeva and literally will not go to anyone else.

It is almost impossible to express how much I love Maeva and Sorely Kneaded. I stumbled across her name while looking for a massage therapist that was less “fluffy” and more willing to work with me on points of tension and injury prevention. Maeva is that person and so much more! She takes the time to explain her work, always checks in with how I’m doing, and truly cares about my wellness. She is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to research any questions I have for her. I have referred 3 friends to her who have had equally amazing experiences! Thank you, Maeva!

I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage, and I cannot begin to tell you how skilled and knowledgeable Maeva is. She targeted my most pressing issues, and since I dont live in Chicago, she was willing to make further treatment recommendations for when I get back to NYC.I left with renewed range of motion, and a feeling of deep relaxation.
