Great gym with amazing workers. All the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the gym closes way to early on Friday and weekends, I wish the hours were longer.

Had to cancel my membership toward the end of August due to the closure of the boystown location and a job change, yet I was still charged for an entire extra month. This was not explained to me at all when I cancelled. Felt like a poor way to treat a paying member since 2019. Safe to say I won’t be returning.

Weird, the boystown location was merged with this one but it looks exactly the same as before. I think most people might call that closing one location but I dont work for a gym so who knows. This is a great gym if you have a backup plan for when they decide to shut it down with two weeks notice and then do everything possible to try to make you avoid noticing the gym youre going to is closing, while providing nothing in return.

When I moved in to the neighborhood, I had intended on going to Planet Fitness, mainly because it was cheap. Im glad I took a chance and toured/signed up at FFC. Sure, it was certainly more expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for.Yes, the layout of the facility can be viewed as odd - but the accessible club hours, pool, cleanliness of the workout areas and locker room, availability of equipment and (most importantly) the staff were all excellent. I am not a gym-person by any means, but they kept me motivated and I felt that they personally cared about my health. I highly recommend working with a trainer. It was an expense I would have never considered previously, but well worth it. (shout out to Louie!)Lastly- while I did unfortunately have to terminate my membership due to monetary concerns and a move out of the area (both as a result of the pandemic) - Im happy to report that they were understanding and facilitated the cancellation with painless up-front communication. Club Management handled everything flawlessly, which is rare in my experience when trying to cancel a membership/service.Thank you, FFC East Lakeview for an overall positive experience.

I signed up at different location about 2 months ago I loved it! I came to this location just to check it out. The sales rep Alan gave me a tour. I loved the layout. Going to the gym in a pandemic can be very scary. The cleanliness was pretty impressive and I felt very safe. Definitely will start using this location more often. Thanks Alan! 👌🏽🙏🏽

After FFC closed their boystown location, this location got way too over-crowded and its hard to work out since July 1st. Its been weeks of waiting for equipment and as of 8/3 once i got there i had to turn away due to lack of equipment, which i have never had to do before — at either location.

Have been a member for 3 months and have been very impressed with both the facility and the gyms commitment to keeping things clean and socially distanced. Every member wears masks consistently and wipes down all equipment consistentlyHave also been working with Kyle as a personal trainer 2x per week - hes been phenomenal in both structuring / maintaining a program to meet my goals and coaching / motivating me through the routines. Highly recommend!

Nice local gym. The staff have always been super nice and helpful. The facility is always clean and it doesn’t get to crowded during the day.

Friendly staff and during the pandemic theyve done a great job with cleaning; from giving every person their own personal cleaning solution to use while working out, to placing visible signage around promoting proper spacing and they even purchased a hospital-grade AifPHx air purifier for the club!

After 3+ months of being forced to close due to the global pandemic, today was first day members were allowed to re-enter the club.Allow me to say thank you to the dedicated team both at the corporate and local level who have been in regular communication with members regarding the re-opening plan along with what changes may be present as we adjust to some of the new norms. Upon return, members were being warmly greeted and welcomed back by staff, presented with an opportunity to ask questions, and to also get a quick overview of some new rules. The club was immaculate, well-marked with signage, and clearly ready for business. During the temporary closure, I was provided with an array of online fitness options from the club (for free in most cases) to help maintain fitness.I continue to be impressed by FFCs commitment to their clients, and appreciate their hard work and dedication as they re-open.

I think theyre doing everything they can to prevent the spread of covid 19. FFC has always been a great gym to be a part of and the staff makes it a great experience. Going back after quarantine feels good!

This place continues to disappoint. Machines in disrepair. TVs that haven’t worked properly for MONTHS. Mold on the ceiling in the showers. The only thing they seem to care about are PT dollars. And... Because irony is amazing... I wrote this review yesterday, and today I received a letter saying the dues were going up. UNREAL.

Terrible communication and unprofessional. They shut down since COVID began and they just randomly began billing out of nowhere. They didnt return my phone calls after calling three days in a row. Actively discouraging me to do something about it. Predatory practices to be sure.

Closed due to Covid mid-March and wont give a partial credit for the full month of dues paid for March. An account credit is useless to me since I cancelled my membership.

Equipment is always cleaned and functioning correctly. Staff are helpful if you have any questions. Locker room spaces are well kept. Overall a great gym. Been coming here since 2012. Have left and tried other gyms multiple times and always found my way back.

Such a great facility with everything I could want available at most of their locations. The ability to use their clubs throughout the city is a huge benefit for someone who works in different parts of Chicago on different days of the week. The facilities are clean and the locker rooms are spotless. The pool is great, as is the hot tub. I LIVE for those eucalyptus towels after a workout! I wish the hours stretched just a little farther in the evenings on weekends....but that is my only gripe. My next plan is to utilize some of their spa services, which come pretty highly recommended.

I love this place. I moved to Chicago two years ago from the northern suburbs and was searching for a fitness club for months – one that didn’t smell like filthy carpet. Though I looked at higher price clubs, this club stood out among the rest as really clean and well-managed.There’s loads of work-out equipment, a nice pool, and an highly personable staff. I don’t know how it’s possible, but the staff consistently seems happy, which makes it enjoyable to go there, particularly at the end of a long workday.The locker room is clean, and the folded hand towels are a nice touch. I also like the music choice in the locker rooms, which seems to aternate between classical and jazz. It’s relaxing at the end of a workout and helps me wind down.If my husband and I ever decide to move, it would be hard to leave this club. Thankfully, they have other locations around the city, but I especially like this one.

Everything is clean, the staff is nice to talk to and work with. There is a ton of variety in classes to take, and fitness programs, like weight loss challenges that even the field by using heart rate monitors for points instead of lbs lost. You do have to pay extra for some of the programs, but they do help keep you motivated. The pool is generally set to a good temperature to lap swim. The updated locker rooms are great, and look really nice. The Pilates instructor Justin is really great at working with you to meet you goals in Pilates or personal training. It is a great gym to be apart of.

Staff are very friendly. Gym is always impeccably clean. Love the classes most of all! Have never had a bad one. Great variety in classes and scheduling always works out so I can make it to my favorite ones. They do switch it up every few months too to offer new ones. Try Pound, Iron Ride, any of their yoga classes (all rival fancy boutiquetupe yoga studios), and any of the interval/station classes. You wont be disappointed.

This has been my gym for 9 years now and its great! They have good equipment, classes are included and the trainers/instructors are helpful. The facilities are nice, including pool, hot tub and steam room. Its particularly helpful to have access to the other FFC gyms around the city because I can bike downtown, workout and shower and attend client meetings.

With one of the best power lifting gyms in the country 2 blocks away (Quads gym) and Planet Fitness 2 blocks away ($10/mo), it is a wonder how a gym like this gets away with charging what they do. I tried signing up online but their payment portal was broke. I came in to give them a layup of a sale, card in hand, but they couldnt sign me up because the salespeople dont get in for 2 hours. Their only way to get me in for a workout today because of their own issues was to charge me a $20 workout fee and to come back another day to signup. Amateurs.

I Love to Swim. & The FFC Lakeview location has a Great Swimming Pool & A Hot Tub Whirlpool right next to the Pool to relax in afterwards. 😉👍🏼😎👌🏽😃

I so wish this place was better. Its closer to my new home, but they honestly need better maintenance. The machines frequently dont work. They are always out of disinfectant wipes. The TVs on the machines are apparently just a decoration because they NEVER work. The personal trainers have people doing push-ups in the isles where the machines are - which just seems like a bad place to be. The showers are often out of hot water - and there is mold on the ceiling. Ive also gone to the club on Halsted Street and it seems like its in MUCH better shape.

Ive never been treated worse by any other corporation. I had my credit card stolen & had gotten a new one..they failed to notify me that they were missing payments since it was routed to the CC number, not my checking account like all my other bills..and even though I had checked in numerous times, they never even mentioned it to me, then charged me tons in late fee and sent it to a collection agency?When i called to resolve it, the billing manager was SO rude..I gave two years of business to these Terrible people who dont understand a single thing about customer service...when asked to provide me with a copy of the emails they claimed they had sent, they had no proof...This is not the way to treat your members! also after nearly 2 years, noone switched my email.to the east Lakeview club and i had asked a few times. I was only receiving emails from old town with their special events etc. there are some nice trainers and staff here but overall the most disappointing experience Ive ever had anywhere.

Front desk has some coaching opportunities. I came in to sign up but no one knew how to take payments and would not let me workout. I walked down the street and signed up at Quads.

Big enough space, pool mostly does the job. Mostly a soft 4.5, but this space is exactly what I was looking for.

Its a great gym with lots of facilities. However, I do think paying $450+ initiation fee, $55 membership fee each year and $80 a month is way too much than the gym has to offer. I also had very bad experience from the managing level when I asked for a student rate as a Northwestern student. I applied for student discount back in Aug 2017 and FFC staff asked me to hold off until Sep. I kept on asking whether the application got through, if not whats the next step for almost 3 months, but no one got back to me and I was paying normal rate. I felt scammed because the staff told me to hold off when I was eligible for a student discount and never followed up with me. The manager also pushed the responsibility onto me for not filling out proper forms, which I did fill out with my friend the same time together. And indicating the only record they had was on 7/30 when they emailed and called me with information about how to apply, which I never got an email from FFC on that day. I also talked to two staff members in person and on phone regarding the same problem, but they have no record of it and I never heard back from them. I did not get an appology for the poor communication on FFCs behalf, the manager was only sorry for my frustration. I asked to get two months worth of credit back or any compensation for the time and mony I lost, and they say they cant offer it because its not their problem when I simply followed what the employers told me to do.

I look at a fat lady crying in the lady`s bathroom, and it is not the only time I let a worker know and he told me that she was an employee. I think that she is not supposed to cry at work . Please...! leave problems at home; not in work.. There are customers who go out and in that deserve more respect .I hope this year not to listen her.... no more crying !.I just got tired of it..!Serious people to work for your gym..!

I have Pulmonary Fibrosis and their smelling fragrance automatic machine KILL ME! i cant breath , witch makes my workout shorter and harder and have to leave quickly at times. ( Other than that its a great clean place.) Sadly i might have to just stop my membership . :(

Staff has been great and the facilities offer as much as you can hope for. Plenty of classes if youre into that as well. Cant imagine asking more out of a gym than what you get here.

Nice staff, good hours, bit expensive but then again it definitely provides value for the $$. Much more than just a gym too, has a bunch of hidden amenities I didnt expect to find. Fave feature is the secondary gym on the 2nd floor which is more secluded and less popular, as opposed to the normal cardio room on the first floor, which is usually pretty populated.

Everyone here is so friendly! The facilities are top-notch as well.

A great 24hr gym. I really like doing my workout later at night when I mostly have the place to myself, but even at busy times theres rarely a waiting or crowding issue for such a popular gym.

This is my favorite Gym for almost 1,5 year. Wide spectrum of sport equipment, 4 line pool, jacuzzi and steam sauna and much more.

Rude members, consistently overcrowded, a severe lack of equipment, and a staff who’s got their hands tied too tight by corporate to do anything about it.
