I have been under Dr.Cook’s care for about six years now . He has been such a positive force in my rehabilitation from a disease that I was suffering from that I feel now with his help and guidance I have recovered from.In my own individual experience, I have never encountered such a doctor who is as caring and genuinely concerned in the well-being and quality of life his patients lead.Although it is up to ones self to put in the necessary work it takes to be well, I will say that you are in no better hands than Dr.J.Wesley Cooks for treatment , care , and guidance.

Dr. Cook feels like a small town doctor (with tons of training, experience, knowledge of the latest medical information, etc.) in the big city. He gets to know you, versus just medical charts. I’ve been seeing him a few years and now my husband is a fan, too. Dr. Cook is nonjudgmental, empathic but also strong in his medical advice/individual treatment plans. He is a big medical education proponent and I like meeting with his med students (and then him), as I feel I’m contributing in a small way, too. I also like dealing with a smaller office staff vs. getting lost in the shuffle in bigger practices.

Wes is a compassionate and knowledgeable Doctor. He is an excellent diagnostician. His office staff and Residents are competent and make sure you understand their thinking and recommendations.

Ive traveled far for treatment here in Chicago because Dr. Cook is just that good. Hard to find care like this in our health care system.

Was nice and helpful the first time that I saw him. The second time was through a telemedicine appointment, and it was like seeing a totally different person. He was mean, belittling, and completely unhelpful. I tried to tell him that my insurance would not cover the medication that he had prescribed and requested a different one, and he treated me awfully because of this request. He would not listen to me. It was a total waste of time and money. He made me feel so badly that I cried and ended up feeling worse off after the appointment than when I started. Not to mention, he charged me a no show fee the next day when I couldnt make it to my appointment due to work. So not only did I end up feeling worse, but then he made another 35 dollars off of me over that. He had a med student in the room with him the entire time who witnessed everything and also looked taken aback by how Dr. Cook was treating me. I would not recommend this doctor at all.

He has bee very caring for me for decades. The best doctor I have had in my 78 years.

Upon arriving I immediately felt so at ease. Being a new patient you don’t know what type of experience you’ll have. Luckily, my experience was amazing. Dr Cook and his staff are amazing. They care about their patients and wants the best for them. They go above and beyond to meet the needs of their patients! I wanted to love Dr. Cook so badly. He came highly recommended from a family friend, and Ive stuck with him for four years hoping things would get better, but nothing has. When youre in the office, Dr. Cook is wonderful. Hes patient, personable, and knowledgeable. However, he DOES NOT respond to phone calls, emails, or portal messages. When you see him in person, hell say message me on the portal to ask for x,y,z or Ill send your results via portal within 2 days and then you spend weeks and weeks and weeks following up, just trying to get AN answer, let along a friendly answer or an answer to the questions you asked in person. Its so stressful when youre awaiting test results, to be totally ghosted by your doctor.

Dr. Cook has been my primary physician for over 15 years now. Staff is always courteous and helpful. Dr. Cook however is just special. He’s always courteous and professional, but makes you feel like a good friend vs a patient.A few years ago I went in for my wellness exam. Life was fast paced for me at that time. At the end of my exam, Dr. Cook made it a point to ask me how I was doing. I said fine, I feel great. He replied with “but how are you? Everything ok?” We had a much needed 10-12 min talk that just made me feel better mentally.He knew it was exactly what I needed.

I came to Dr Cook at a dark time in my life. He instantly made me feel comfortable and I knew I had made the right decision for myself, and for my family. He has been there for me through so many ups and downs and I honestly do not believe, I would be here standing as strong as I am, if it werent for him and his caring staff. They have become like family to my family. We pray every day and thank God bringing us together. You can NOT go wrong with Dr Cook!! Id give them 1000 stars if I could!

Getting my covid vaccine was the happiest appointment with Dr. Cook and his amazing team. The office is sparkling clean and patient appointments are scheduled so that you do not need to see anyone but the doctor. Before leaving a room, they always make sure the hallways and lobby is clear of people and that you can safely distance on your exit. Even though everyone is masked, you can tell the staff is giving you a warm welcoming smile. Is it possible to have your doctor office to be one of your favorite places in all of Chicago? Dr. Cook just the best. He always is compassionate and caring and listens so well. I always leave with a smile. Thank you Dr. Cook!

First time ever that I didnt feel rushed at the doctors office. I had my physical done and the communication between the office and myself was amazing. The doctor is very down to earth and really took time to get to know me and I felt comfortable voicing any concerns I had. Its the best doctor experience I have had in over 10 years.

Dr. Cook is wonderful. He treated my best friend a very long time before he passed away. At that time I was not a patient but was bringing my friend to his appointments. I was always impressed by how thorough and caring he is. I was the eternal optimist, but at the right time dr. Cook talked to me privately. He explained my friend was not going to survive, explained the reasons and suggested I need to start thinking about hospice care. Of course he was completely correct but the forthright and compassionate way he explained this to me is something I will never forget. I became a patient and have had only good experiences. Recently he became one of the very few doctors offices to obtain the Covid vaccine. His office is administering a hundred dosage per week in addition to the regular practice. To say Dr Cook is committed to his patients would be an understatement.

Dr. Cook and all the lovely staff are very helpful and attentive even through the stress and hectic COVID times they have found a way to meet all needs and requests and do so in the most efficient and timely manner possible. Really appreciate you all! Thank you!

Communicating with this office is an absolute nightmare. They no longer answer phone calls, and emails can go unanswered for weeks. The technology capabilities are not robust enough to justify this communication strategy, and there is no path for patients experiencing issues to voice those concerns and be heard. Ive received no response on several occasions after raising an issue, and it doesnt feel great to receive zero acknowledgement, especially when it comes to your health.

Dr. Cook’s office reached out to me after the major snowfall in mid Feb, saying they had extra vaccines available due to cancellations. Now I’m fully vaccinated. I always feel cared for by Dr. Cook and his team.

I received email from dr. Cook that they do COVID-19 antibodies test and that it’s free. When I talked to receptionist she also told me it was free. Me and my husband had test. After that they refused to tell us results without virtual visit, which is billed separately. I refused to pay for visit just to hear that we both were negative (I was able to get results after 3 weeks of emails and calls). 2 month later me and my husband received bill for visit to doctor and for blood drowning. Really? We never saw doctor! And we were told that test was free. That’s ridiculous! All they care about is money and way to reap you out! Very disappointed. Don’t recommend this office.

Dr. Cook has been my doctor for almost 30 years. He can adjust my neck much better than the chiropractors I have tried seeing since moving out of the city - so much that I just drove an hour and a half for an appointment. And it was totally worth it. Dr. Cook has also been great in terms of overseeing my health - over the years I have had various emergencies and health procedures, and he has consistently provided good recommendations for specialists and has overseen my care to make sure that I am getting the results I need. He is very caring and listens well to his patients. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr Cook and his team are simply wonderful. I have been seeing Dr. Cook since February and man oh man my body thanks them. He is kind and had great bedside manner ...he remembers you and whats going on in your life he really cares about your total health.

Extremely pleasant experience with our yearly wellness visit. We (my son and I) are new patients. My son has autism. The staff was fantastic about dealing with him. We both got flu shots and had blood drawn and Lupe did such a great job you couldnt even tell (usually I have a giant bruise).

Its rare that I should come across a general practitioner that operates with a high level of magnanimity. Dr. Cook always actively listens to my concerns, and I can honestly say that is a rare quality to find with any physician in this day and age. Although I never cared for his interns, I would rate his practice with nothing less than 5 stars.

The staff are super friendly and you can depend on 100% positive feedback as it relates to your care and finding the most economic solutions for those that dont have insurance. Dr. Cook was thorough and really made me comfortable to speak openly about all my issues. Really great medical service provider.

Ive been seeing Dr. Cook regularly for 8 years now. Ive seen him for everything from depression and anxiety to splinters and high blood pressure.His practice is unique. Its a teaching practice, meaning that a lot of the staff are local medical students. They are learning how to treat, so that means your visits will take time. Theyll be incredibly thorough. The office is great about not keeping patients waiting, but plan on spending some time talking to the students while they gather information for Dr. Cook.The students will take your vitals, talk with you about any issues youre having, and thoroughly document your conversation. Dr. Cook will review all this and come see you with his students. When hes explaining the patients situation with his students, youll hear and learn more information than you would at any regular medical practice. If youre interested in taking control of your own health and want a medical environment that sincerely encourages the patents engagement, make an appointment and try it out.Dr. Cook cares more than any other medical professional Ive met; and more than most people I know in general. Im not surprised by all the five star ratings in here. Im not surprised by the one star ratings in here either -- when youre dealing with health, it can be very scary. Its sounds like people are just lashing out because of fear and frustration with their situation. Notice that the five-star reviews seem more thoughtful and detailed. Dr. Cook might not be the right doctor for everybody, but if his practice is a good match for you, youll be one of the luckiest people in Chicago.

Doctor Cook is a great Doctor, very friendly and so knowledgeable to help his patiences. However I have noticed lately a lack of follow up on prescriptions and sometimes research. Aside from that I have no complaints about the good Doctor.

I thought the public might appreciate reading a post from another physician. My personal expertise is in integrative medicine, so Ive had the opportunity to visit many doctors offices and observe what they do with a critical eye. I assure you, Dr. Cook is an EXPERT in regards to your mental health. I was quite perplexed, at first, with the nature of his questions, but believe me, his thoughts are deep, and he is thinking 3 steps ahead of you. On my first visit, he diagnosed me with a thinking disorder, that may otherwise have been something I would deny, but he explained it to me in such a compassionate way that I was able to search deep inside, and I was able to understand things about me that I was unable to see. Also, Dr. Cook is, in fact, and integrative healthcare specialist. He is totally on your side and will open doors for you that you didnt know were there.

Yes, some may not like having to talk to interns first but it is a teaching office. They need to get the experience. Dr. cook is always straightforward with you.
