He is straight to the point, thorough and knows his craft without a doubt. I had a double Achilles repair and bone spur and he made the process seemingly easy. His right-hand woman, Jen, is so awesome! She is funny, knows her stuff and is so pleasant to deal with. You have foot/ankle issues - dont bother going anywhere but to Dr. Peterson!Second, I have been doing PT in the Suburban Physical Therapy location in Bartlett and the are awesome. I have worked with several of the PTs, PTAs and assistants and they are always on time, get you going right away and listen to you. They explain what and why you are doing what you are. They genuinely care for you, listen to your concerns, and give you the kind of one-on-one attention and treatment that you expect to receive. I just completed my physical therapy sessions and I could not be more pleased. My therapy visits were primarily with Ryan Borri, who is a DPT. Ryan knows exactly how to plan your treatment to help you regain movement, strength, and balance, and eliminate pain (but it’s very important to do your exercises at home to get better faster). I broke the 5th metatarsal of my right foot at the beginning of summer. 6 weeks of non-weight-bearing, plus 3 more weeks of sedentary lifestyle while wearing a heavy boot, plus a couple more weeks of hoping things would get better on their own, caused muscles to weaken; so in addition to a very swollen and weak right foot, I also experienced a lot of pain in my left hip that affected my walking and ability to get out of a chair or car without difficulty and pain, as well as knee pain when climbing stairs. I’m happy to say that after about 7 weeks of therapy (nasty hip pain was gone in 3 weeks doing the prescribed exercises at home every day) I have resumed all of my normal activities including bike riding and long walks, and I can fit into all my shoes. I also want to say that everyone I had contact with in every capacity at the Bartlett location was super nice, caring and helpful!

Four stars instead of 5 only because of the consistently very long wait time for each appointment, and there were many over the period of more than a year. But the end result was worth that time. Read on....this is a long review. My doctor was Dr Thomas McNally and the RN was Kim.The surgery performed was a spinal fusion of L4-L5 and L5-S1. This was a major surgery in an attempt to minimize the debilitating back pain I had been experiencing for many years, to the point I was unable to go about my daily routine without my legs going totally numb and buckling under me.The surgery was performed on 10/02/2017 by Dr McNally and his team. I recently went for my final checkup after one year. It has been a long road to recovery, but right now I could not be happier with the outcome. My legs feel strong again. I can walk more than 10 minutes without numbness...in fact I can walk as long as I want to. I am back to a regular exercise routine, I sleep properly, and I can pick up and play with my young children. There is still low grade pain, and there always will be, but it is a manageable pain and I am not restricted in most ordinary tasks.I visited 6 orthopedic surgeons before deciding on Dr McNally and heres why. The very first ortho I visited looked at a single set of x-rays, and suggested a fusion from T12-S1 within 15 minutes of seeing him for the first time. Scratched him right there when he told me I would not lose flexibility and mobility after that surgery. The next several suggested varying levels of fusion, but none suggested less than a 4 level fusion. All of them suggested those surgeries after looking at either x-rays, or an MRI, or both, at a single visit.Dr McNally ordered a CT scan after seeing my x-rays and MRI and doing a thorough check on me, because he wanted to be sure he was getting a full picture. After seeing the CT scan, he had me undergo an electro-shock session (not sure of the correct term), where the intensity and time delay of applying various small electric impulses to various points on my back and legs is measured to my toes and various other locations on my legs. This gave him a better idea, even when he was pretty sure, of exactly where the nerves were being impinged.Only once he was very sure, did he recommend a two level fusion. His strategy was to do the least invasive surgery and determine the outcome before determining if more levels should be fused. This is why I went with Dr McNally. He was very thorough in his diagnoses before making a recommendation. And it was the right one by all indications. The team at Suburban Orthopedics was always friendly and polite. More importantly, they were all thorough in what they did. Explanations were forthcoming. Time was taken on each visit to determine my progress. Dr McNally sat with me and explained everything to me on every visit. Answered all my questions clearly, and listened to what I had to say.It was a major decision to undergo this surgery, and I wanted to give myself the best odds at a successful outcome. I was very nervous before and took more than two years between seeing the first surgeon and Dr McNally. Now, one year after surgery, I am glad I took my time, and I am very happy with the outcome. If, over time, I need further fusions on further levels (my lumbar spine above the current fusion is not in great shape), I will definitely go back to Dr McNally.Thank you Dr McNally and everyone on your team.

I would give no stars if possible. My son broke his arm in two places, an uncomplicated break, we were told. Our pediatrician referred us to Suburban Orthopedics and were were supposed to see Dr. Chhadia, unfortunately that is not who entered the room to cast my 5 year old son. Instead, Dr. Freedberg is who we were seen by, something we regret deeply. My 5 year old son is a bruiser. He is tough as nails and has always been that way. Therefore, when he complains about pain, we take him seriously. He is not jumpy or whiny by nature. After a sleepless night, because we were not able to keep him comfortable enough to rest while his arm remained un-casted, Dr. Freedberg entered the room. My son was terrified and in pain, Dr. Freedberg was unfeeling and never said a word of kindness or comfort. While they casted my son, he screamed in fear and pain, absolutely screamed at the top of his lungs. After the fiberglass was in place, Dr. Freedberg squeezed the cast to set it and I thought my son honestly might faint. All this was done with no pain management, no local anesthetic, nothing. I am not aware of the options that we may have had, if any, for pain management, because they were never discussed with us. My sons pain was entirely ignored and in fact, at one point during the casting, Dr. Freedberg actually looked down at my son and with the most disdain he could muster, said to him, You are not helping yourself with all that screaming. It took everything to stay focused on consoling my son and setting a good example when I wanted to give the doctor a piece of my mind. Would it have been so hard to say something kind I know this hurts buddy, Im being as careful as I can and we are almost done. I mean, cmon! How hard would it have been to say something like that?!Cast removal went well (Brandon was an absolute delight, thanks to him for being so sweet and kind during the actual removal process, he should give Dr. Freedberg lessons.)The entire time that my son was in a cast (only 4 weeks), I kept telling people that I wouldnt care if Dr. Freedberg was a jerk to us, as long as he did his job and healed my son. Even still, as Dr Freedberg entered the room, I was hoping that, under a different light (more sleep, less pain), he might appear to be different that he was on our first encounter. I was disappointed, as he is still rude. He glances a cursory glance at the new x-rays, squeezes my sons arm (which is crooked, by the way), my son yelps and jumps in pain, and then Dr. Freedberg declares It doesnt hurt. I can tell by looking at the x-rays that it is healed. Um... again, my son does not self-report pain unless he is FEELING pain. I request that the doctor explain the x-rays to me, considering my son reported pain and has a crooked arm with no forearm suppination, and he, very condescendingly and curtly, gives me a half-assed response about the bones being healed and the crook being something that will go away with time. I am very uneasy but I am not a doctor, so we leave and I try to muster up some sort of trust in this man. After the shocked response at the appearance and function of my sons arm and also the quick removal from a cast that we got from several friends, family and finally, 2 physical therapists, we decided to get a second opinion. In short, our new doctor was dismayed at the fact that our son was already out of a cast after only 4 weeks and said that the bones are not fully healed and are not healing in a way that is preferred, which is causing the motility issues. While he agreed that they may self-correct, we are going to have to keep a watchful eye to make sure they do, or else we will be looking at surgery.I believe Dr. Freedberg did a bad job and as a result, my son is going to have limited mobility of his dominant arm for a good amount of time (potentially years) and *may* eventually require invasive surgery to fix the bone alignment, if it does not self-correct enough.

My successful story: Two years ago i was playing football on thanksgiving 2015 I was QBing with friends a normal pickup Turkey bowl game. I hurt my arm, more importantly my throwing shoulder. I lived with the pain for about 6 months and it started to halt me from doing normal activities. So i saw 2 other doctors before seeing Suburban Orthopedics. Both of those doctors were saying different things even after 2 MRIs. I didnt feel that they were doing anything for me. So i decided to go to Suburban Ortho for a third opinion. This was a different type of feel from the second i walked it. They had a wall of successful stories as you walked into the office and the staff was wonderful, the wait time though a little longer then normal the professionalism that i received couldnt be match. After meeting Dr. Freedburg he assured me that i had torn my laburnum but a MRI would prove it, which it did. We setup a surgery date for October 16, 2016. The surgery was flawless, after the surgery i was told there was more work that had to be done then thought at the MRI, So it seems to be a 2 year recovery. Fast Forward to today September 21, 2017 after a long road of hard work and only 10 months of rehab/Physical therapy i am back to throwing a football to about 60 yards clean no issues. The doctors did a great job and i couldnt ask for a better team to work on me. They could only do the repairs on my arm, it is up to me to do the hard work to get were i wanted to be. They were there the whole time and pushing me through. Thank you again for giving me my youth back, i cant say this enough!Ken Wildeboer

I had an appointment for MRI results this past Friday at 11am and was at the office a total of 2 long hours! I overheard the lady at the front desk telling someone atvthe phone that she was getting ready to go to lunch while I was signing in. I didnt think anything of it because I figured it was more than enough staff there to be able to see me. After filling out the pain sheet and sitting back down, I realized an hour had passed and decided to ask the guy who was there at the front desk why I hadnt been called yet. He looked up my name and saw that I had signed in and went to the back to check. I was finally called back about ten mins later! I was so angry because I had my daughter with me and she decided to wait in the car. Usually I am in and out in about 45 minutes at this location as well as the one in Elgin. The doctor finally sees me and I tell him the situation about how the staff had me waiting and they lost my pain sheet and he at least apologized. He said he didnt understand why I hadnt been called back because he was there seeing patients and goes in the order of who they call back. He said maybe because some of the staff was on lunch that it was backed up. I appreciate him apologizing but that type of long wait and incompetence of losing my pain sheet then asking me to fill out another one, is unacceptable! I will be making all future appointments at the Elgin office. Its bad enough that I have been in pain since October 2015 from a car accident and the physicians assistant just ordered an MRI of my neck a whole 14 months later which proved the causes of my pain! I would not refer anyone to this office.

I LOVE Dr Kyle Peterson but I just dont know if its enough to keep me coming back and having to deal with the poor staff. The woman who escorted me to exam room and subsequently interviewed me about the reason for my visit, did not greet me nor pay attention to the answers I gave. She kept bringing up my right heel which was in my file from previous year. My appt this time was for a broken toe!She ordered an x-ray and took me to that room. When the x-ray tech began her verification, her instructions were to x-ray my HEEL!!! It took some time to convince her I wasnt an idiot and I was there for a broken toe.Two days later I called to get a copy of the xray. I was transferred to MRI, made the request and was told I could pick it up in 48 hrs. It was a Thursday so i asked her if that would be Monday. She instructed me to wait until Tuesday and added, we will call you if we get it done sooner.I went in on Tuesday and they had nothing for me! I knew it!!!! It is almost laughable if it werent so inconvenient all the time!!!I told the girl at the front desk that I had been transferred to MRI to make my request and she said, yeah! Why dont you go over there and see if they have it! (Why wouldnt she KNOW who does this and why didnt she just call MRI and ask, though it is only out the door, into the foyer and thru door to next area)I walked over to MRI and the only person there, who spoke like I was SUCH A PROBLEM for her (absolutely ZERO personality), asked me who I spoke to when I called as she searched for my disc. What? You have dozens of employes in this tiny MRI office who would be answering the phone and taking requests for x-rays?Of course, there was nothing for me.I went back to the office front desk and informed the first girl who offered to burn me a copy. This took her a few minutes and I was finally done. (Funny though, when I got to my car, I saw it was labeled with my name and the word, ankle! LOLLater that day I got a voicemail from the grump in MRI, who said something about, my inconvenience, and mumblings regarding my xray while asking me to call her back. Im SURE there is evidence of further incompetence, but why torture myself?
