This was my first time going to Siren. My stylist Steve did a phenomenal job on both my hair and my daughters. We both have thick, curly hair which is very easy to foul up if someone doesnt know what theyre doing. We had an absolutely stellar visit, everyone was outgoing and unpretentious, and I have found my new favorite salon and personal stylist. Thanks Steve, Chris and Madeleine! From my horrendous experience, I recommend finding another salon if you have long thick hair. They left my hair gummy, porous, and such a bad taste of color. Sadly, they will act like nothing happen till you have to draw attention to their mistakes (no honesty from them).I was given a refund but, it will never cover the emotional distress they have caused me. Not to mention my scalp was burning for days! Still, think its worth it? My hair was almost to my waist. I had to cut it to my shoulders (with layers) due to the gumminess, the excessive amount of time it was taking for my hair to dry, constant tangles, and breakage. The damage is almost to my roots! Therefore, I still have the gummy texture (even though its short) and will need to do treatments and trims till I get everything out.Let me point out that no one mentioned the texture/breakage of my hair. I understand there will be some type of damaged but, this was “human error” according to what the other stylist said. It is heartbreaking since I had long curly hair and had not dyed it for over 5 years. Also, they will be so concern over the phone and say they want to take care of you. Once youre there it is a different atmosphere. Management will not acknowledge you and will literally go around you just to ask the stylist what was discussed. For me, I need a place I can trust and know I am in good hands. Unfortunately, based on my experience, this salon was not it. Mind you were my scalp was burning and in pain.. I lost a lot of hair and went bald. I had to go to the dermatologist and put steroid injections. It’s heartbreaking and horror what I went through (and still going through one year later)

Recently moved to the neighborhood and needed a closer salon so this was my first visit. Cristy gave me a cute haircut and was very friendly and personable. Normally I avoid maintaining consistent hair appointments to avoid forced awkward conversations but Cristy seemed very genuine and I felt very comfortable talking to her. I plan on going back to her to get highlights for the summer.

Siren Salon is amazing! Kayla (the stylist I see) is great and has been cutting my hair for a while now. Prior I was bouncing around between barber shops and other places but never found anyone that actually listened to what I wanted and then just did it. Not like I have complicated hair but she just gets it. I’ve never had one complaint about her cuts and always walk out feeling fresh.Also I’ve gotten some aesthetic services here and those were perfect as well. This place is great and I recommend Siren to anyone looking for a relaxing experience and exceptional service.

To the future apprentices out there. Be warned! This place is extremely stressful to work for. I was once told not to apply here because the Owner Chris was extremely rude, and that person who warned me simply knew she was difficult to work for simply because of the client reviews posted. They are true, about how Chris deals with the situations and will treat you like youre nobody. That being said she and some of the stylists there will treat you like youre a nobody and really make you feel small there. The stylists will get so mad at you for a tiny mistake like they forget we are there to learn from them, they will boss you around in a rude way. They need to remember that they were once an apprentice and needed guidance along the way, not attitude. Chris has made the assistants and even front desk cry. That woman has no filter and she doesnt watch what she says to you. I was beyond stressed working for this salon. This place will manage to make you feel like you lost your passion for the industry. Many employees has come and go, and that is saying a lot from this place. They were really nice people too, but Chris manages to use that against them and step all over them. Dont sell yourself short either, working as an assistant here wont let you walk out with good tips. Clients hardly tip the assistants and seriously dont expect a dime from the stylists, even tho some make you do most of their work. There is truly better salons out there to work for that will make you love your job and make you feel like you are advancing in your career. Youve been warned, future apprentices. Shell be nice to you once she interviews you but once you are under her payroll, she will treat you small.

I have been going to Mark at Siren for color for years. He is so brilliant at what he does. My color always pops and looks so incredibly natural at the same time. I am always getting compliments. I love Siren Salon. Its airy, and buzzing but not too hipster. I started going there when the world best nail person, Barbara, took a position there. I have since had my hair colored there, and had wonderful facials with Evelyn. The people are friendly, really good vibe and it is worth checking out. It is pay parking, but who cares. In some areas you can drive around forever and not find any spots. I see lots of beautiful hair leaving there.

I have a few years that i have been going here. I love Nikki and Nubia. They are fun ladies and always do a great job. Nikki is easy to work with and always has great ideas for my hair and Nubia is great at nails and wax. The staff at Siren are very friendly and i never had a problem there. I think i have about almost 5 years at the salon and I love how i get compliments on my hair. I will always recommend Siren for any service.

Ive been going to Siren for 5 years, and I have loved every haircut. My go-to stylist is Rosalinda, whos a genius with long wavy hair. Shes great at remembering details of the last haircut (even if I take longer than usual to come back because of a crazy busy life). My hair feels healthy, my cuts are always flattering, and the massages are to-die-for!

The prices are too high (almost $300 for a cut and color) service is extremely slow (3 hrs!) and results were ugly and amateurish. My cut was blunt, poorly shaped and uneven. The color was bleached out and hair was damaged. When I requested an itemized bill for the color, I was refused. There was no owner or manager on site. When I finally talked with the owner, Chris, she was rude and insulting, accusing me of being rude and unreasonable for requesting an itemized bill. When I pointed out that she wasnt there, and asked if she wanted my side of the story, she said her staff had told her everything she needed to know. Toxic, hostile environment at Siren. Ive been to another salon several times to get my hair repaired, and am ecstatic with the results at half the price and half the time!

A true one-stop shop. I have been going here for over 15 years. No other salon (Mark) would I trust with my cut and COLOR.....I am a redhead. Both my daughters are clients also. Additionally, Siren is fantastic for waxing, facials, and massages.

I love this salon. Nikki does great cuts and color and is so fun to talk with! Berry does the best eyebrow waxing. I usually get my Bare Minerals makeup here too, so its pretty much a one-stop shop.

Over priced go elsewhere. I never have paid that much for a haircut. For men go to any other barber shop. These people wont tell you the price until they do the job. I highly recommend for men to go elsewhere there is nothing special in this salon only a waste of money.

I followed my waxer Maria here from her old salon and I love this new place. She has a much better room, more relaxing. I have also tried their nail services and I was very happy with my manicure. A transplant to Chicago, I was in search of a new salon and hair stylist. One of my friends referred me to Siren, specifically Miss Nikki, so I took her recommendation and made an appointment. They fit me in quickly and Nikki did/does a fabulous job, not to mention she is a wonderful person who never ceases to amaze me with her life stories.They also offer wonderful salon services and sell great products. Siren is the best salon in Chicago. I spent 10 years trying to find the right spot when I finally happened upon Siren. Now my entire family goes there, and were hooked. They are true pros who not only send you out looking fantastic, but they make sure your hair is healthy and at the maintenance level that you want. I seriously LOVE this place!

Great prompt service. I walked in for a Kerastase treatment. Girls at the front desk were super nice and were able to fit me in right away. Treatment was a rescue remedy for my hair

First of all This place is very overpriced. They don’t dye your hair the adequate color that you want and they messed up my extensions they fell out 1 week later and I paid over $1,000 for them. The owner of the salon her name is Chris she is very disrespectful and rude to clients as well as the stylist they made me feel uncomfortable. I asked to see a proof of license and they could not provide that. They have people without a license cut hair and shampoo hair. Inspection needs to be sent to this place. Very unsanitary.
