Absolutely love this place but most importantly my hair stylist Samantha! She brought my hair back to life with a same but different look! She took her time in making sure I was happy with the results! Kept my length too! 10/10 would recommend to book with her! Plus the soft curls she left me with were absolutely stunning!

I had a horrible experience here. Very unprofessional receptionist and a stylist. I was a new client and asked for a consultation but the receptionist said it was not necessary. Instead, she requested multiple pictures of my hair and picture of what I wanted my hair to look like. I also explained her in detail what my expectations were. I arrive 15 minutes earlier before my appointment, since I knew we had no constultation before and just in case she wanted to chat, nobody came out before 5 pm (my app time), which is fine. So at 5 I sit down with the stylist and of course we started chatting about what she was going to do (I was getting full head highlights). By the time we agreed on a look it was 5:30 ish. So I ask her how long the process would take, I was just curious and was trying to make Friday night plans in my head. She said she has a 6:15 client and she can only work on my hair until then. So I asked her what about my hair? She said she would do whatever she can until 6:15. So I got up and left. She assumed she was going to do my highlights in 1 hour and 15 minutes. She blamed me on wasting the time to chat, when I specifically requested consultation and was declined. The shortest time stylist has ever done highlights on my hair was 5 hours. Anyways, she was unprofessional, incompetent and rude. I asked receptionist why she didn’t share my pictures with the stylist before me arriving ( I asked for a specific stylist initially and she said nobody ever shared my pictures with her), the receptionist just looked and me and walked away. Sooo rude! They didn’t even apologize and I was very constructive even though they wasted my whole evening, and had to wait for another appointment for two weeks, of course in a different salon.Just be careful when you are a new client!

I have been switching stylists for years now. Trying to find someone who could figure out how to cut out my thick, partially wavy hair, in a way that didn’t require lots of effort to style in my own (even though I want it to look like it did!). Patrick nailed it where so many others had failed. He is unpretentious, super nice and truly talented!

Im a guy with medium lenght hair. I used to have it really short but since I let it grew it has been difficult to find a person who can really cut it well. I found Edit Salon and Pat online and I gave them a try because of the reviews and Im glad I did. Pat is very meticulous in his art and I am really happy with the results. I will keep going there for sure.

I had a terrible experience at another salon for a haircut. I called this salon and Patrick (the owner) was able to squeeze me in for a correction. He gave me an incredible bob. I’ve never been so thrilled with the haircut. I feel so cool! To top it off, he had me donate the price of the haircut to a charity of his choice. I love this place!

Absolutely love the way Sam cut my hair and left me feeling like a new girl!!! She was very friendly, which I love since cutting my hair is a big decision. Definitely going there again for a big chop!!

Michelle did an AMAZING job on my full balayage! I would recommend her to anyone considering getting balayage. She did a great job of setting expectations on the process and resulting color. I couldnt be happier with the results, and I love how natural and low maintenance the style is! I will definitely come back to Michelle again! :D I also picked up the Davines curl shampoo, LOVE conditioner, and curl cream, which Im loving!

Katie always listens and consults thoroughly and gives me exactly what I want. Easy to get an appointment, fair prices, and clean/cute storefront.

Had a cut with Linay (sorry if I botched that spelling!) and a balayage with Daniel. Both were fantastic, friendly and professional. It’s hard to find a place that helps your vision really come to life. Will definitely be going back.

Tara gives the best haircuts EVER!!!! Ive been seeing her for over 10 years and she is the only person I can trust to give me perfect hair without having to give her a million suggestions or ideas. GO SEE TARA! Also Michelle is an amazing colorist who will give you the color of your dreams.

I’ve been going to Patrick at Edit for a few years now and I can’t imagine going to anyone else. He cuts my hair with a razor which gives it a blended, softer look. I have been told that I have “a lot” of hair and he is one of the only stylists that never made me feel guilty or like they were doing so much extra work on me. Since reopening with COVID, I have felt very safe going there. Everyone wears a mask properly, the people are spaced out, lots of cleaning, etc.

As far as dye jobs go, this one is pretty disappointing. I asked to go up one level but left with chunky highlights way too light for the rest of my hair. I was about 10 minutes late, so my stylist took another client and the intern washed my hair, but the stylist never spoke to me again. Not to check on me to see if I was happy with the color, not to say thank you or goodbye, nada. Just a weird experience.

They were able to impress me with their service in this hair salon! Im so pleased with how wonderful their programs have been. They were so gentle and asked if I was doing good all the time. Im so glad that I will find this hair salon!

So happy to have this salon in my neighborhood. I’ve been coming here for a few years now. Pat always does an amazing job with my cut, and Allison is really a balayage queen. She did such an amazing job with blending that allowed my hair to grow out naturally all through COVID still looking great. Also spot on cut and color for my wedding from this talented duo. The rest of the team is always friendly and every client looks happy and amazing walking out! LaRae is so helpful with scheduling too! Always a pleasure interacting with this crew.

I read all the reviews and was so excited to finally get my hair done after being inside for so long. I asked for a dark chocolate color.....i got BLACK!! This is the darkest my hair has ever been and not what I wanted at all. NOT only that, but the colorist did NOT check on my after my wash. How upsetting, not even a follow-up on the hair color.Also, you dont get a blowdry with color because of capacity issues (even though they still blowdry for haircuts). So you need to leave with a wet head in winter. Luckily the assistant helped me blowdry in between shampoos.Im so upset -- cried in my car after dropping over $100 for something I saved for and was supposed to be a nice treat after a long time.

Loyal customer for 3+ years now; I can’t recommend Edit enough! I always feel well taken care of. I am SO protective of my hair—Pat (haircut) and Allison (color) are amazing and I trust them! I’ve also recommended them to several friends and everyone has had really positive experiences.

After moving to Chicago from Atlanta, I bounced around looking for a salon that I absolutely loved. It took more than four years for me to find it, but I did! Hands down, Edit Salon is the best cut and color in Chicago. The stylists are knowleable and patient. I really feel like they take my ideas and opinions to heart - great listeners! They take their time with each client and you can tell theyre passionate about their work. If you have time to book in advance, I recommend Allison for color and Patrick for cut. Ive tried to go silver-y blonde for many years, Allison is the first person to absolutely nail it! My color turned out so lovely the last time I visited, I teared up a little during the blow out. Patrick makes you feel like a celebrity the instant you sit down in his chair. Cannot recommend them and this salon enough. The appointment pays for itself in compliments.

Though I have not received services from this salon, I felt obligated to leave a review based on my experience with the front desk.I was honestly really excited when I found this salon after searching all of Chicago for someone who could make my hair as beautiful as my old stylist could make it.Ive left my hair entirely alone for almost 6 months after frying it back in August. I made the appointment for 1 week before my birthday for a cut and color a full month in advance.Somehow by the following day, the front desk didnt save my reservation and the slot was given to someone else. Rather annoying since the slot was offered to me first and I confirmed, but fine. So I attempted to book another day. Turns out, Allison and Patrick working on the same day is a rarity. Again, annoying, but fine.But then Im told that I need to make a separate trip for a hair consultation to speak with Allison about color.Ive never in my life heard of having to make 3 trips, 2 of which are for color, because there is just no way of knowing how much time she would need for the dying process.My hair is currently at my shoulders and after the cut, it would likely be just at my jawline, and I requested an all over darker brunette....... its not like I have over 24 of hair that Im requesting a rainbow of colors in.A lot of back and forth, and it feels like the front desk really needs to get a handle on things.I was so turned off by the interaction that Ive decided on another salon.

I got a haircut here on Saturday with Gabrielle and she was great. Very nice and professional. I am normally pretty apprehensive about getting my haircut, so I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

Victor did my updo for my sisters wedding. It was absolutely stunning, very intricate in the back and exactly what I had asked for! Jackie did the braids in the front too. I loved it; these stylists are very talented :)

This is a great little salon in Noble Square. When I went for the first time I didnt select a specific stylist and randomly had Johnny cut my hair, and I am was so pleased! He did a fantastic job - Im going to him every time! We had a great discussion about what I want from my hair, how I like to style it, how much time I spend on it, etc. He was very attentive, made suggestions based on my hair type and face shape, and went out of his way to make sure I had a cut I was happy with.I highly suggest you go to Johnny for your next cut or color!

Edit was the best of my trip to Chicago! Based on reviews I snagged an appointment, and was not disappointed! Allison did a phenomenal job taking warmth out of my blonde and blending roots. Amazing cut by Samantha. Both listened to what I wanted and gave professional expert advice on what would work best for me. I would recommend this salon to anyone. Havent been this happy with my hair in a long time! Too bad Herb wasnt there!

Gil Bentley is a coiffeur extraordinaire. Hes been cutting my hair a long time and I have always been extremely satisfied. Also, hes a nice, caring person.I went out to a cocktail lounge with a friend and the hostess said to me, « Wow, you have great hair. » Gil Bentley, Thank you sir !

This place has great hair dressers. My favorite is Chase. And they also give you neck touch-up for free. I recommend it!

I made an appointment for hair cut with Tara tonight. The front desk informed me that the hair styler is sick and they had tried to call me today to cancel the appointment . The truce is that I didn’t receive a call from Edit , no voice mail and no email. Edit is the only place I go to for hair cut in Chicago and they do great job as always but I am disappointed with the service this time and will not go back.

This is a gem of a place and I say this as a guy who spent many years going to Supercuts and didnt see the value of anything else. Everybody at Edit is super friendly and the hair cuts and service are spectacular.

Got my hair cut by the owner Pat. When someone has a passion for his work, you can tell. Pat offered several looks before doing anything based on his initial impression of my hair texture, length and potential. Never before have I sat in a chair and felt like my look was a big deal or mattered.Have you gotten your hair cut for $25 at one of those chains before? You know that feeling afterwards you get when leaving: where youre like, whatever, its just a stupid haircut, I guess Ill go back to my mundane, pointless life now. Yeah, well, thats what you get for $25!I have a pretty difficult head of hair to style with cowlicks everywhere in different directions and Ive worn my hair 2 ways - all spiked back in my teens and early twenties, and flattened to the front with the 90210 Dillon McKay front flip and sideburns since my late twenties.After spending a solid 40 minutes with Pat, I have a whole new perspective about my hair and my look. How can you spend 40 minutes on a guys hair? I mean, seriously: all my cuts prior probably lasted 15 minutes and those entrusted with my look did their job with about as much passion and care as a teenaged, Chuck-E-Cheese token collector. Pat inspired me with a new look because he cared and because he was excited for me to look my best and stand out, and I left feeling like I was walking out with all the world watching in wonder - like check that guy out - he looks good!Thanks, Pat!

The only place I get my hair colored/cut!

Amy is a hair extraordinaire or something that sounds really amazing. She basically rocks. I have been going to her for about a year and a half. Ive gotten Ombre each time with her. I just have it brightened up and touched up. She has her own technique and it turns out absolutely beautifully. I get so many compliments on my hair. My colors look so rich. Amy also recommended some great products for me when I asked her how to get a specific look. By specific look I wanted to know how to not have FLAT hair lol. She solved all problems. I will continue to go back to her. The staff is just awesome there. Everyone is so friendly.

I have never received a haircut at Edit, but I have had two extremely wonderful coloring appointments with Amy.I always want to do something dramatic, but Im lazy and unskilled with hair; being a genius, Amy totally handles that challenge. She took me extreme blonde with a balayage that grew out beautifully, and now dark, dark brown. Im a natural blonde, and the dark was so skillfully executed that people think its my natural hair color. She couldnt be better at her work. I travel a lot and get my hair trimmed all over the place, and from Paris to LA Ive had hairstylists exclaim over my balayage (even months and months after it was done). Couldnt recommend more.

Whether a trim, a cut, a color, looking for something new and done well... this is it. 👌
