Customer service experience does not go beyond the first floor. Understaffed facility with little to no type of communication with families. Staff are not trained for the type of patients they claim they can handle. Entire facility reeks of urine. Ive visited twice snd witnessed Staff doesn’t even know the residents names and they go days with the same clothes on. Items will come up missing even if you keep inventory. There are minimum interaction or recreation activities for residents besides sitting them in front of a television. Staff spends more time talking to each other than working to ensure quality of life for residents. The only thing positive I can say is there are a handful of staff that help and have compassion for residents. First things first they need the facility to be professionally cleaned and free of urine odor. They need more staff to avoid burnout and that know how to handle a variety of problems and they need to direct activities for ALL residents. Lastly work on communication with families and during shift changes.

Went to visit my friend today. She’s a resident at Symphony of South Shore. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and fresh smelling the place was. The residents were neatly dressed and clean. The staff were courteous and helpful. I met with my friend in the dining room. There was music playing in the background and the overall mood was peaceful. Kudos to Symphony for creating such a positive atmosphere!

Don’t let the Starbucks in the lobby fool you I barley worked there and pretty much orientation was in my own no one set up to actually train me and had me on the floor by myself within my first day then in the last day offered to have someone train me. They have mice so watch ur stuff and aren’t doing anything about it either

My visit to your facility today was quite positive. The employees were friendly and efficient. The facility was well lighted and very clean. My cousin was well fed her room was clean and she was doing better than I expected. Good job, Symphony South Shore!

This place is horrible! It smells like urine! The patients are always dirty. My mom is here and I’m working on transferring her. I was told that this place was good but LIES! I am not an angry person for no reason! They keep lying trying to cover up all these bad reviews. The CNA’s (not all) but most are just there for a pay check! They never wash my mom clothes. They never know ANYTHING! I thank Nurse Tasha and CNA Angie for always being helpful. IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE PATIENCE TO WORK WITH THE ELDERLY STOP WORKING IN THIS FIELD! A lot of these patients have no family or visitors. Have some compassion! The administrator needs to be fired. They are UNDER STAFFED! The staff are not trained properly for this field. My mom has DEMENTIA and they don’t know anything about her condition. They never keep the family informed unless you ask. I need to run this place! I guarantee I’ll do a much better job to make sure the patients get what they need! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS FACILITY! They need an inspection ASAP! !!

Horrible place to be at! they decided to not take me back after telling my mother that they would hold the bed for 10 days, then when it was time for me to come back they said no, because of my age! they knew my age when they first accepted me, and Im sure if i was healthy i could do all there jobs better than all of them except Lyndsy! the only person who i looked forward to seeing was Lyndsy, all the other nurses were too busy to care! especially linda and diane, they were too busy smoking cigarettes to care for there patients! they screamed at me the Saturday night before the Sunday, i was taken to the hospital, they said I cant give you anything more for you headache and dont have your mother call up here because I cant give you anything more! she could have said it nicer! the patients are not all put together, half of them dont even have shoes to go out and smoke in... this is a sad excuse for a nursing home!

There were flies everywhere throughout the facility. I arrived to visit my dad at 11am and he was wearing a soaked diaper that was leaking. The CNA had a heart of gold but she was responsible for 27 patients and was doing the best she could. The Nurse was rude and haphazardly completing her tasks and would have administered another patient’s medication to my dad if I had not pointed out her error.

I called and got nothing but heart trying to talk to my grandma all thanks to a nurse who could not let me explain why i could not wait yesterday to talk to her and today this is a unreasonable way of understanding and treating people with emointal issues that need to talk to their familyit made my day suck gave me stress i did not need

You have a beautiful staff at Symphony of South Shore. The facility is nicely setup. The nurses are nice and helpful. The administrative staff is professional and knowledgeable. I also like my Doctor too, he has my best interest and cares about me. Family oriented environment facility. Highly recommended.

The food has not been the greatest, but they have tried their best to accommodate me. I will definitely say that they have improved since I arrived. I really enjoy that they listen to your concerns and address them immediately. The therapy was pretty good. They make you work. They dont give up on you. I enjoyed the staff.

I had a wonderful experience here at Symphony of South Shore Rehab. I came here for therapy to recover from cervical stenosis. I have found the management to be completely aware of what’s going on. When asked or questioned about a procedure that was given to the nurses, everybody knows what to do. Although in a professional environment, they are charming and pleasant. I do not feel in any way intimated by any of the staff. They are all welcoming and approachable. Therapy is very important when trying to heal. They have so many talented physical and occupational therapist. They encourage and always willing to help. You dont feel rushed, and they display a lot of patience. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends. Thank you Symphony for all of your care and concern.

When I first arrived, I had my doubts but I love it. I would recommend this place over and over again. They have my highest recommendation. They take your feelings into consideration. The heart felt compassion is off the charts. They make sure that you are as comfortable as possible. If my friends and family would ask for suggestions. I would definitely tell them to come to Symphony of South Shore. They will always have a 5 star rating in my book. Ebony, Gladys, and Lori are the best. They are an awesome team. You will never meet anyone quite like them.

I am happy to have a rehabilitation facility I can spend time learning needed skills and make new life long friendships! I wanted my mobility back and the therapy staff were dedicated in the process of walking on my own! Leslie still teasing me about our first therapy session when I told her I couldnt walk as she was guiding me through the parallel bars with her gait belt!

No place is perfect, but I can honestly say that in the African American community this place is by far one of the best, the staff is excellent. I always just randomly stop by and everything is on point. This place is really nice. The nurses take care of you and the staff is very helpful. Ive been here a year and things are looking better for me. Im grateful of all the attention theyve shown me. I definatley recommend Symphony of South Shore for rehab.

This facility is awesome! A facility with nursing professional that care and provide good service to the patients. I recommend this facility. Always clean and the remodeling is very nice.

My dad is currently in this facility and has been since September of 2017. The nurses are overworked, but awesome and very caring. I want to give the nursing staff 4 stars because they truly deserve it. I spent everyday for 2 weeks at this place with my dad and was only impressed with the nurses. Im really starting to think that the people that gave this place 4 stars or more does not exist. I was reading the reviews and came across names of 2 of their employees. These are not patients.

I love this facility!!!! Its like home away from home. Every patient is treated like an extended family member. Even when things are not correct they make every effort to correct the problem.

Omg! I dont know where to begin!! The staff was ok? The facility is not well kept my mother was sent there from the UIC!? I was told that the doctors followed their patients there and the UIC had specific rooms for their patients ONLY!! That was a LIE!! the doctor assigned to my mother was so rude it was sicking and the so called case manager is the most ignorant person Ive ever meet. The pictures posted on the web site look nothing!! Like the facility, before you let a loved one enter this facility please visit it first!! And ask for a full tour of this facility and you will be surprised. I was in total disbelief of my mothers room and much more. The ONLY!! Good thing was my mothers assigned SOCIAL WORKER L.SMITH thank God!! For her the only!! Professional person there! she explained everything!! To me that concerned my mother and quickly help me transfer my mother to a better facility!!!!

My time at Symphony was terrible since I first got there they were unprepared and it got worse. Things like not getting meds, clothing stolen, information given at last minute and they had me sign my money to then but told me they would talk to me before doing if I wasnt going to stay. Dont go there unless its your last chance.

The staff is just lazy as hell. No pride in their work and putting light on for nurse, it is completely ignored.

My Mother A Stage 4 Cancer Patient Was Brought To This Nursing Home In September. We Were Satisfied With Her Overall Care In The Beginning. However We Began To Notice The Hallway Leading To Her Room Often Smelled Of Urine Or Fecal WasteOnce I Came And A Dirty Sheet Was Drapped Over My Mom It Had Bodily Fluids Dried Up On It Blood, Saliva Etc She Fell Several Times According To Her Roommate & Staff We Were Not Always Told She Died December 11, 2016 When We Cleaned Her Up She Had Open Wounds And Horrible Bed Sores. I Would NOT RECCOMEND This Nursing Home For An Animal Let Alone A Human!

Ok nice nurses but our doctor is never around and the try to hold u there like your​ in a jail you cant get passes to go out they dont have enough blankets the food good just need to serve what we like to eat good coffee needs more activitys you get bored just sitting in one room all day long doing nothing

This place is the heart of the community. Every business has its drawbacks, however, Symphony of South Shore has no shortage of compassionate skilled staff!

This is THE WORST facility ever to have your love ones reside in. I was visiting someone & I witnessed one of the residents fall out of his wheelchair. Due to him being left unattended in the dining area so he tried to maneuver to his room by himself. Once the man fell out of his wheelchair and unto the floor he began yelling help!! The CNAs on duty began to argue with one another about who was going to go help him up because they didnt feel like writing an incident report. The resident stayed lying on the floor until I began to complain about the neglect and threatened to notify the administrator. This place is also NASTY because its BEDBUG INFESTED plus the kitchen & breakroom has mice & roaches in there & sticky traps all behind the vending machines!! I also know a dietary aide whom formerly worked there & they told me that this facility half feed the residents by giving them infant portions thats why so many of their residents are malnurished & underweight. The puree residents really get fed slop because they add any & all leftovers and liquefy them and serve it!! I do not wish this treatment for my dogs, so people please take heed to this review and choose a safer & cleaner environment for your love ones PLEASE!!! Majority of the staff there can care less about the wellbeing of the residents, its all about there paycheck. Thats why taking pictures in the facility is prohibited. This establishment needs to be shut down PERMANENTLY instead just changing its name from The Renaissance to Symphony of South Shore due to ongoing legal issues!!!

They Dont provide wipes for cleaning residents. Once theyre out of towels/rags theyll start using bed sheets to wipe your parents behinds.

They been giving my mother the wrong meds and this is a life or death issue and they giving her the wrong meds.So Im getting a lawyer and working on a lawsuit.
