Review №1

I just had surgery Wednesday with Midwest Orthopedics. It was a terrible experience. I’ve had 5 other surgeries in my lifetime so this was not my first experience, just my worst one. The surgeon seemed to do a good job however his team and the anesthesiologist were horrible. Here’s a short list of things that went wrong1-telling me I needed to have surgery in Indiana because of my insurance. This turned out to be false. I called BCBS and there was no issue with staying in Illinois. Gee could the docs make more money in Indiana?!? Humm...2- scheduling my covid test wrong twice. It wasn’t ready before I to the surgical center. I was rapid tested there. But I can’t in without having results.3- trying to give me drugs I had previously said I was allergic to. Celebrex and zofran4- trying to give my an ice machine and crutches I had signed off already saying I didn’t need them. They had it on paperwork that I was suppose to get them. Clearly not paying attention to what I signed already5- the team not communicating with each other. I had to go over things many times and it wasn’t to check to see if things were correct it was to give it to them information for the first time.6- the surgeon called me instead of coming to see me. Lame.Lastly, but the most infuriating was I am very specific on drugs I can take and drugs that do not agree with me. I was SPECIFIC I did NOT want gases to knock me out. They make me feel very nauseous and give me a little cough, not to mention I take a drug for osteoporosis prolia one side effect of this drug is it can make you more susceptible to respiratory infections and with covid I certainly was trying g to protect my lungs. Oh but that didn’t matter to Dr Meyer he gave my gases anyway. I can’t wait to write a letter to the CEO of Rush. This treatment of patients is unexceptionable. I am furious! My hip feels fine but my chest is very uncomfortable and I have a cough I didn’t have prior to surgery. I spent the first 24 hours nauseous and it took me till today to figure what happened. I was not out yet and the two anesthesiologists were arguing about what to do. I clearly remember them putting a mask on my face and I pushed it away telling them again I didn’t want gases. They lied and said it was oxygen. I will never have anything done at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. Too bad because my hip will hopefully turn out well but this treatment I will not tolerate twice.
