I will start with the only drawback. The bath house that we used was disappointing. One really smelly and trash in the floor. Not cleaned regularly. No toilet paper available. The staff member was very friendly and the campground was well kept and clean.I realize its hard right now to find enough good help, so this is forgivable and, hopefully, easy to remedy.I

This place was fantastic! We spent the day at Washington Park Beach in Michigan City. The campgrounds were easily accessible and a short drive. The owners are on site and very friendly and accommodating. We only stayed one overnight because I had to go back to work the next day. However, we’ll definitely make this a regular spot!! Bathrooms were super clean, well stocked and modern showers with hot water readily available. This place is a little gem! So happy we found it!

Idyllic, clean, mixture of shade and sun, informative and welcoming staff, great for tent campers all the way up to big rigs. In 2021 this gem is under new ownership and it shows. We are traveling in a conversion van, and the sites were well spaced so no one is on top of each other and everyone has some grass. The way the grounds are laid out, rigs of differing sizes are grouped together, so no one feels like a minnow among whales or vice versa. Also, the layout has these different sections, so you are never fully aware of how many campers there might be. In the past we’ve tent camped and felt like we were shoehorned in. Here there are many beautiful and spacious tent sites. Oh, and the bathrooms were spotless. All in all, quiet and gorgeous!

This place has so much potential. Its under new ownership very recently. The staff is nice, but very inexperienced in owning a Campground. They ran out of toilet paper too many times on Memorial Day weekend, which was disappointing. This is a function of the severe lack of restroom facilities - 3 toilets for women, plus 2 unisex bathrooms. Luckily the place wasnt very full and I wasnt tent camping, but I didnt appreciate having to have everyone in and out of the camper every few minutes. Otherwise the place was pretty quiet. The buildings all look recently refurbished, as theyre in fantastic shape. The pool looks like the previous owners hadnt opened it in a couple of years, and clearly had not done upkeep on several other items like the swings. Hopefully that changes. Add a few more restrooms, and some basic necessities for sale like ice and firewood, and this would be a 5-star rating.

Family owned campground. Very nice people who cherish the lord. A good alternative for when the other campgrounds are full which is pretty much every weekend june thru sept. Too pricey and its one of the least primitive places ive been without electrical hookup your looking at 35-38$ a night for my tent but i think you can place 3 in a spot, dont quote me on that. We had a really unfortunate experience at this campground. Before camping, we tried calling to secure a reservation two times. Both times, the manager was adamant in telling us no reservations were needed; we could have our pick of any spot. While the availability raised a bit of a red flag, we proceeded. Upon getting unpacked and settled into our chosen campsite, the manager abruptly drives up and tells us we need to move because the site we were on was reserved (I should add, the campsites are not numbered or labeled). We had to haul our tent, shelter, and belongings (with kids in tow) to another site. A couple hours after being shuffled to another site, our friends arrive (who are sharing the site with us). We had already paid the full price of the site, and the manager demands that our friends pay that same rate (again, we are sharing the campsite). My husband gently challenged her on this, and she was completely unreasonable. Our friends ended up paying in order to stay (a total of $66 for the site). The following morning, the manager comes up to our campsite and berates my husband, ordering us to leave. She gave us 10 minutes to pack up and leave. Reason- she had felt disrespected by us questioning the duplicate charge. All in all, it was the most bizarre experiences weve had on a campground- ever. And weve been to a lot of campgrounds. Definitely would not return.

Tried to go camping at Indiana dunes State Park, but they were fully booked.we ended up here because there was nowhere else to go. $47 a night because we had a small dog. Overpriced because its pretty dumpy campground. We had to search around between 10 sites before we found one that the electric actually worked. For the most part its just a big field with a ring of trees around it. The bath house that we found was very bad as camp grounds go. Only one working shower for the whole place. No camp store to buy ice, water, or firewood. The manager was rude, yelled at us before we even went to go looking for a spot. Confronted me to make sure that I washed my hands after using the bathroom. Also told me that kids cant go to the bathroom without adult supervision because they might throw up or making a mess.

We arrived at 8 on a Friday. They are closed Sat/Sun. No other tent campers at all and we were charged for my kids. They only allow 3 people per site. Sites are basically primitive camping in a field. No one else and we were charged 20 dollars for my kids. Complete ripoff. Stay away.

I called ahead of time to ask about the availability of the primitive sites and was told there would be plenty. When I arrived, the front desk person told me they were sold out and laughed at me when I explained to her what the owner had told me over the phone. She said I had to pay for one of the more expensive sites that include water and electricity. Being in Indiana with few options around, we had to stay. After setting up camp, we noticed there WERE OPEN PRIMITIVE campsites! The price difference is negligible, but the problem is that they told me one thing and then stong-armed me into reserving a site I was not planning on using. I called the owner the next day and they were helpful. I recommend, though, that the owner do a better job of training their employees in providing basic customer service.

A very quiet camp site. Its clean and tidy. Its not huge, though its not crowded at all. Its one of the places close to Indiana dunes, which can offer camp site even late night. People who run it were super nice and friendly. All the people around us were also nice, tent sites are not too close together, so you get some level of privacy. The only thing that was a tiny bit annoying at night was the train sounds that periodically we could hear. If we go back camping in Indiana, wed definitely pick this site again.

This campground is strange, but does not deserve the awful reviews. My biggest complaint would be that the branches near the entrance and through the park are not trimmed back, so they scrape your RV. This is a basic thing that all RV parks should take care of. Very shabby sign at the front makes you wonder what youre getting into! $42 a night for water and electric only when surrounded by cornfields feels expensive, but there are not many RV parks in the area. Overall our stay here was quiet and fine with a touch of strange.

The campsites were nice, we went after the construction on the placechad just been finished. The bathrooms were clean during our stay. There is a coin operated laundry facility and showers. Our campsite did have trash at it upon arriving, and the pool was closed the entire second day of our stay before checkout. I just think that for $33 if u want to swim in the morning you should be able to. Checkout isnt until noon and it wasnt opened before we left at 11:30. Overall I liked the place and would recommend. It was spacious, not busy whereas the state park campgrounds were full. And the women and her mother working the office were friendly

Seems like everyone grabs what ever is close to them for tables. Very open and most of the time sun hits your tent. Although the campground looks nice, we were disappointed. We werent told the pool was closed before we paid $52 - the most we paid for any sight while travelling from New England to Colorado, to Montana and back. And the fee was non-refundable. The playground consisted of 2 swings while the rest were broken. The restrooms were clean but also was in need of maintenance. The firepit at our site wasnt safe. It consisted of a metal square over cinder blocks or should I say kind of on-off blocks with air gaps that would not contain a fire. I gave a rating of two because of the beauty of the grounds alone.

We just spent two nights at Sand Creek Campground--$40 per night for a tent site. The sites were large and in fair shape. Picnic tables were worn and tired and the grass needed to be mowed, but otherwise, acceptable. Driving in, we were a little nervous; the sign was dilapidated and a giant white cross greeted us at the entryway. As it turns out, the campground seemed to be in various stages of renovation (I guess, fixing the sign didnt make the list). Bathrooms were newly renovated, but FILTHY.Bathrooms in general were an issue for this campground. The first night, we considered just using natures facilities rather than braving the family bathroom--blood, feces, and urine were all over the toilet and the floor was drenched and reeked of urine. In all the campgrounds weve been in, weve never seen such a filthy bathroom. AND there was no hand soap! There werent enough bathrooms for the campground--three stalls each for men and women near the pool and the two handicap/family bathrooms. Perhaps, it was constructed for RV and trailer units who dont need bathroom facilities. Either way, it made for some agonizing waits to use the toilet, especially with two young daughters. The larger restroom had a slippery concrete slope into it. Because its next to the pool and also housed heated showers, the concrete was constantly wet and super slippery. My daughters multiple times nearly fell on the slope, but I luckily caught them. Again, the toilets in the larger restroom were disgusting, with feces and what appeared to be vomit splatters--maybe a camper was just having a really rough night and was visiting all bathrooms leaving her mark?Quiet hours were not enforced. Neighboring tents played music well after 3:30am. My daughters and I slept through it, but my partner and our family members said it kept them up.The pool was nice. A previous reviewer said it was a swamp, but it was very clean when we visited. The owner did come around and suggest that it had just been repaired (and she recited a bunch of rules to us as well), so perhaps that was the issue a month ago. Either way, the pool was nice and warm. However, there wasnt any pool furniture. We ended up just putting towels on the concrete. Another pool complaint: it said it opened at 10am, but on Sunday it was closed. We checked again as we were leaving and it was still locked. Im not sure if this was some sort of religious observance (see my next paragraph for further note on this), but it was inconvenient, as our kids had hoped to swim one last time before leaving. The place is run by a family of fundamentalist Christians, or so we think. We dont have any problem with people practicing their religion, but it would be nice to know ahead of time if the owners religion will impact our stay so that we can make an informed choice about whether or not we want to stay at their facility. As my cousin and I were leaving the pool, the owner stopped my cousin and I and informed us that we couldnt wear our bikinis at the pool you know, for the mens eyes. We were told we couldnt return unless we put on one-piece swimsuits. She clarified, it was okay for our daughters to wear two-piece suits and the men to wear normal suits, but we had to cover up. Mind you, we are both physically fit athletes and we were wearing conservative athletic two-piece suits. We understand that some religions hold women to different standards and pretend women are the reason men fall into lusty temptation, but, again, it would be nice to know this before we pay $40 a night. Had we known these were their policies, we wouldnt have stayed at their campground. Finally, good luck getting in touch with these folks. They never answer the phone and the office was always closed. If you need ice or firewood, buy it ahead of time.Overall, would not recommend this place and will not return.

We came up to camp with friends; our friend who lived locally made a reservation for 3 sites, to be close together; on RV site and two tent sites. There were going to be three families - ourselves and my parents, driving up separately; one family; and another family and their niece driving up separately. Three sites, three families. Checking in was terrible; we tried multiple times to explain what was going on. The person manning the desk did not have much information about the reservation and did not understand what was going on; they had no knowledge of anything that was said when the reservation was made. My parents checked in first and paid for the RV site. We arrived next, and had to pay for another site - not the one we would use, we were going to be with my family - before we were allowed to go back to join them. It took another visit to the office before we could set up on the single campsite our family needed. The next friend checked in and paid for a site - theres the three sites we had reserved and that we used. The next family checked in and they were made to pay for yet another site before they could join us. Thats four sites. We used the three sites we reserved, and are going round and round trying to get reimbursed for the unneeded, unwanted, unused extra site. The pool was closed, despite the dates being within the time period marked summer season on the website. My parents site (we didnt get a full RV hookup, just electric hookup, so that the sites could be closer together) didnt have electricity; after yet another trip to the front office, they were able to run a cord to the next site over to get power. There were pros. The campground is pretty, and was quiet. It felt safe. The restrooms were clean and never ran out of TP. There were not too many bugs (Weve stayed at places that were mosquito havens; not a single bite here; that was nice.) The roads around the campgrounds are well-maintained. A friend who plays guitar was able to borrow a guitar from the front office; that was a kindness.Still, for the awkwardness and difficulty of dealing with reservations and extra charges, would not stay again.

Before we could even do anything the owner pulled up and started yelling at us who are you? What are you doing here. This is very misleading and a ploy to attract customers and charge full price. The pool was closed due to customers (is what I was told). Central shower was broken. Had to use shower room in pool washrooms.Warned by staff that when choosing a site, some may not have power though they are marked for electric. Our chosen campsite still had unburnable debrie in firepit (ie: beer cans, bottles, even a wet t-shirt). All campsite picnic tables are in need of replacing. If there are any issues, the staff are prepared to tell you the owners are in Korea and give no solution... The only reason it gets 1 star is because its peacefully quite, the grass is well kept, and they have roaming staff that will constantly patrol the small campground (though it does get distracting a few days). I didnt get a chance to use the campground wifi or even if it exists. It was password protected and I was not provided that information. Your not really camping here, its more like your sleeping in someones backyard and the Glamping amenities that are ADVERTISED are not executed to a standard or are ill kept.
