My 82 year old Mom was accepted into a 2 week rehabilitation program at St. Lukes, following a 10 day hospitalization elsewhere that had depleted her strength and hugely impacted her ability to walk, even with her walker. The facility is lovely, with bright, spacious, sunny rooms, and the staff are patient and caring. My family and I were particularly impressed by the occupational and physical therapists who worked with my Mom for 3 hours daily during her 2 week stay. They basically retrained Mom how to walk, get up from a bed or chair, and to handle most of her self-care needs. In addition to helping Mom, the therapists also taught us how we can best assist, by helping when needed but not taking over and doing everything FOR her. Mom was discharged yesterday; her strength is back, her gait is so much better, and she has reclaimed much of her independence. Sending a huge thank you to Kelsie, Tali and Terri for your kindness and patience, and for helping Mom so much. St. Lukes Rehab Hospital was a wonderful choice.

For more than two weeks, my husband was cared for by St. Lukes Rehab Hospitals most skilled and exceptional staff. He was unable to walk, but St. Lukes excellent PT and OT staff did an incredible job providing him confidence in his progression to mobility. The doctors, nurses, techs, Speech Therapist, and others were there providing help, expertise, and most importantly, their patient compassion. We were most fortunate to receive care at St. Lukes Rehabilitation Hospital...and we will be forever grateful to their awesome staff! Extremely HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Do not work there. Company doesnt even follow their own procedures unless it happens to benefit the company itself. Any pay out bonus thats promised forget about it. Any pay raises or promotions dont happen. They take full advantage of the staff without showing any proper appreciation. You have to remind them about their policies and procedures to get anything to happen and mostly have to contact the CEO directly to see change take place. Get taken advantage of if you want but I wouldnt recommend it.

You can’t go wrong with St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital. I suffered a work injury which required orthopedic surgery in an outpatient surgery center. I was sent to St. Luke’ afterwards because no nurse was available for home care for the 24 hours after surgery. It worked our for the best because I suffered a complication which was managed effectively at this facility. It was a team effort between the doctor, the nurse practitioner, the charge nurses, the occupational therapists and physical therapists, etc. as well as the case manager to get me to the point where it was safe for me to return home and function on my own. I made good progress under their supervision. There seemed to be good communication between all these parties. The hospital CEO even checked in on me and was monitoring my situation. As a bonus, jokes about hospital food notwithstanding, even the food was better than I might have expected.

If you or a family member ever need rehab this is the place to go. I arrived at St. Luke’s rehab after being in the hospital for 2 months I was not able to move my legs on my own or even get out of bed much less walk. The staff was incredible if you needed anything they were there any time of day. The rehab department went above and beyond to help me, I was in rehab for a month and in that short time was able to slowly take steps on my own and learn a great deal from the rehab staff. This facility is beautiful and is very clean, and the staff was amazing. Do yourself or your family member a favor if rehab is needed St Luke’s rehab is the place to go !

St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri, in our opinion, sets the standard of what rehabilitative AND hospital care should be. From the CEO of the Hospital to those who came and emptied trash, they are the kindest, caring people who took care of my mom on two stays within 3 months. My mom is eighty-eight years old. Besides suffering a non-covid medical emergency in November 2020, Mom had lost eighty per-cent of her vision at once in July 2020. Along with that vision loss were some complicating factors related to the vision loss. In November 2020 St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital admitted Mom for skilled care until she was able to return home with home healthcare nursing. There was a communication problem with the hospital that discharged Mom to St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital. I made a call and I received a phone call back from Reagan Simpson, CEO of the hospital.Mr Simpson eased my worry about Mom’s care and also made sure the staff of the hospital were aware of the medical condition and complications associated with Moms recent vision loss and her medical emergency that placed her in St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital care.Mom and I were surprised and so grateful that Mr Simpson set the standard of communication with me, Mom’s care team and her “Patient Buddy”. This practice and the transparent information sharing is awesome and should be the goal of all medical practices/facilities.This February Mom suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and brain bleed. I requested St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital for her skilled care if they had room. The medical care Mom received from Dr Fischer is extraordinary. Dr Fischer treated Mom as if she was one of his long-time patients. He truly looked at her medical history. Thank you for offering Mom such tender care.Mom’s nurse from November 2021, Carla, was one of the angels, I mean, nurses, Mom had during her second stay in February 2021. These practitioners and administrators at St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital are all truly angels here on earth. The Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists in November and February are awesome. They took into account my Mom’s recent blindness when developing her plan of recovery. The help and recovery the teams offered Mom is remarkable and Mom uses her exercises she learned at St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital here at home.Another example of how Moms health emergency and recovery at St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital was made special by St Luke’s was Moms eighty-eighth birthday that was on Valentine’s Day.Mr Reagan arranged a celebration for Mom. Mr Reagan and Mr. Sherril also arranged that Mom could have a visit from me and a “non-genetically attached” family member on her birthday. That truly lifted Mom’s spirits. Thank you Mr Reagan for making Mom so special. After Mom was discharged from St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital Ms. Hagin, RN - and Ms. Peebles, RN, both Nurse Coordinators, made several calls to follow up and has helped with finding a primary care physician. WOW! We did not expect that kind of attention, but that is what St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital is about. The care they give. And in our case, and I suspect in others, the care began at admission and continued even at discharge. The respect Mr Simpson and the nursing, PT, OT and other staff showed my Mom is why I am so grateful.Thank you, St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital for helping my Mom. Thank you for helping me understand her care and course of action. And to all the nursing staff that were patient with Mom and attentive to her blindness and who answered my many questions and request for minutia detail: You are all brave, you are all angels.Thank you Mr Simpson for the environment you have created so that everyone is treated with respect and I’m going to say it, love. Your hospital should be the model of how ALL PATIENTS SHOULD BE CARED FOR and ALL HOSPITALS/MEDICAL CENTRES should operate.Merci Mille-fois!

My wife was admitted on a Friday she was considered a high risk for falling requiring monitoring and assistance. During the night she need to go to the bathroom three times, each time she called for assistance. No one showed up, after 30 minutes she had to get in a wheelchair by herself (the chair barely fit through the door) take care of business alone and return to bed without assistance. Additionally she was due for medication After two hours she had to call the nursing station and ask for her meds. I could go on with other problems including rude and surly personnel. I would not recommend this facility under any circumstances to anyone

I was there not even 1 day and the staff refused to give me medical attention during an allergic reaction and I suffered for hours itching and trying to breath. I had to contact my mom by cellphone to get medical help. My mom called the facility and told them to take my allergic reaction seriously and to call the facility doctor or call an ambulance since they were just leaving me alone for almost 2 hours. The staff was not wanting to comply at first but ultimately did call an ambulance to take me to a local hospital after many hours. The facility failed to give me my meds as directed during my stay. They ignored my call light many times and at one point even told me to stop pressing the call light bc the ambulance is on its way. I was placed inpatient at the hospital bc I refused to go back where I was medically neglected. I have worked in hospital and nursing home setting and my experience was completely unprofessional, neglectful and staff was very rude.

My 86 year old mother came here after a fairly minor outpatient surgery. She left in much worse condition than when she arrived. The Physical Therapists were great....caring, took time and tailored their treatment. Most of the nurses were awful. They were very uncaring. They spent very little time with her at each visit. They never returned my phone calls when I called to get a status update. I felt I had to be there daily to make sure she was getting some attention. The techs were equally bad. I asked for soap in her room for 3 days before I finally got it. Dirty linens and towels, etc. I really felt they did not care one bit. My sister is about to enter rehab and I am sending her somewhere else. I would never send a loved one here.

My mom came here post surgery & stayed for a week. You have to be very very proactive & make sure you pay attention & are persistent or no one will do anything for you bc they really don’t care or pay attention that well or have any urgency to help you. Which is kind of sad because they’re here to help people for post care after surgery. If we weren’t with my mom the whole time & making sure she was getting her care & reminding them every time they forgot something she probably would have been in pain longer or injured during their watch. The case manager Penny was rude. I called prior to her getting admitted to make sure they’re able to provide transportation to her appointments during her stay, she said it was no problem. I made sure to give her the list of appointments before she was admitted so she can go to them. The first appointment was set up fine bc I reminded them twice prior & the second one she didn’t set up bc she “doesn’t work weekends” & the appointment was Monday ( even though I gave her the list prior to her getting admitted). She was rude and mad at my sister who reminded her about the appointment Monday morning bc she had to scramble and set up transportation. They were very unorganized & very slow at getting back to you about anything. The therapists were the reasons I gave them two stars because they were very good except the one who touched or moved my moms head because she didn’t know she had surgery there. She apologized but you should know the patients you’re treating especially bc they’re there after surgery ... you should at least know where they had surgery and why they’re there so you don’t inflict more pain. My mom had to stop her therapy that day and rest bc she was in too much pain. It’s things like this that make me very disappointed in this place. I definitely would not have any of my family stay here after this experience. There was probably 1 or 2 people that were helpful in the whole week stay. Overall though, the nurses don’t pay attention that well & most of them you have to remind them of the medications & how their patient takes them... if I didn’t have this list from her doctor I probably wouldn’t have caught their mistakes. I can only imagine the other patients that don’t have anyone watching out for them. Also, it was a struggle to get exercises, recommendations, or thing she’s suppose to do after release bc some people knew she was getting released & others didn’t like the nurse? Very unorganized, unprofessional, and clearly this place has communication issues.. how does the nurse not know that the patient is getting discharged that day?! I am also not the first person that wrote something similar to this... how do they not have a good communication system going and are prepared with recommendations and scores after rehab and stuff after discharge. Honestly very sad. We usually have good experiences with St. Luke’s but this rehab facility staff needs work. The rooms are good but some of the people caring for these patients are very unorganized, uninformed, don’t care to know or find out, and don’t put in any extra care and it shows.

If you have a medical issue this is not the place to get quality medical care. We were disappointed in the medical services/supports needed but not provided. We were told my dad was ready for discharge His family communicated firmly it appeared he was not strong enough, in a lot of pain, unsteady in essential daily living and that his apt was not set up/safe to return to yet. They insisted he was safe to go eventhough a PT was not sent to see what he was going home to.The day we went to take him home, he fell in his rehab room. However, this happened before family arrived and no one there called to let us know. When we got there, and found out he fell (he told us) they still insisted he was ready to be discharged. His family asked how he was safe to go home? They still didnt deem continued treatment necessary even after he fell in his room!It turns out he hurt himself when he fell his last day in rehab. He sustained additional injuries which triggered more pain, spiked high blood pressure to 230 and led to an inpatient hospitalization. Their medical evaluation and judgement, sending him home after he fell, were detrimental and troubling at best !

This is the most fabulous place available in the St. Louis area for rehab services. From the nurses to the therapy staff, the food service and the doctors you will not find better care. Chris Baechle, the CEO is approachable and hands-on. You can tell he truly cares about all aspects of the hospitals day to day operation. Jessica Cappa, the director of rehab runs a exceptional therapy team who are dedicated to getting you back on your feet. Beth Clamp, the chief clinical officer has developed a staff of top notch nurses who provide excellent care. The dietary staff serves your meal with a smile and the food is good and hot. If youre searching for a rehab hospital after illness or injury your search is over because you will never find a better place to receive healthcare.
