I get massages 1 time a month and am very picky about who I go to. My chiropractor recommended them due to my specific neck and back needs, so I decided to check it out. It was my 1st time going to Medical Massage and was very pleased with Dolores. The staff is very friendly, the office and rooms are very clean, and they are following all of the required guidelines. I highly recommend them and will definitely be returning.

Worst experience ever...I am revisiting this post to further clarify. I am glad to see you can actually be polite in writing in an open internet post, since over the phone you were extremely rude. But I am not so glad to see that you intentionally misquoted me. I NEVER asked anyone to dress me and it is quite disturbing that this is what you choose to say here. The ONLY thing that I mentioned to the therapist was to stop draining through my scar as the doctor specifically asked not to. Which is not the correct practice here, as you said yourself... A business will have problems, but it is how we deal with those problems that will differentiate you. Here you chose to defend a wrong procedure, be rude to a customer and post lies. Good for you...

Andrea gave me a massage for my trigeminal neuralgia and TMJ. It was so wonderful and relieved my pain, and best of all showed me where my pain was coming from. Even though my pain is in my face, releasing the tension in my SCM, which she said was stuck down, seemed to be the key to my pain relief. Ive been to many doctors and on many medications and supplements at this point, and Im so grateful to have my pain lessened so much so quickly!!!

The facility is clean. The atmosphere is awesome. I was able to do self care as well as treatment two for one. The knowledge level and compassion, listen to me about my body was outstanding.

This place was wonderful from the time I walked in. Very neat, clean and eye appealing. The massage rooms were good size and the relaxing feeling of the room put me right at ease. This is the second time Ive been here and I must say Dolores and Dontae know their craft. I was thinking I would never be able to find a new therapist after mine left the country but thank goodness my chiropractor told me about VMM. Wonderful service and I feel so at home here. Very talented massage therapists. Elisha and Dante are my favs. They help me manage my chronic nerve pain. They are masters of joint and muscle movements and target trouble areas in positive relentless fashion. I always walk away with pain relief and am thankful that my insurance covers these benefits under manual therapies.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. First visits can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable but that was certainly not the case. The space is clean and serene and puts you in a relaxed mindset immediately. I thought it was great that so much was touchless (online intake form, advance pay online, soap dispensers, paper towels, faucet and trash cans - all touchless). Everyone was masked, waiting room seating was appropriately distanced. I could not have asked for a better first-time experience.

Ahhhhhh-Mazing!Virginia Medical Massage has helped me with a stiff neck that caused horrible headaches from a car accident more than 25 years ago!I thought I was going to have to live with the tightness forever and I was surprised to find that I was needlessly suffering.Im so glad that I no longer have to live with that pain.

The relaxing ambiance was inviting and the staff was efficient, punctual, friendly and professional! Alyssa, my massage therapist, was very knowledgeable and friendly! She answered the many questions I asked and the Post Surgical Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage really helped! By the end of the massage my uncomfortable hard swelling actually felt softer and so much better 🙂. Alyssa also explained the whole process so I understood to expect the swelling to return the next day and subside the second day after the massage. I appreciated knowing this because when the swelling temporarily increased I didn’t worry that something might be wrong. I definitely recommend Alyssa’s services to anyone experiencing post surgical swelling.

I paid for messages 5 and on my 5th one the owner decided to tell me I owe more money for previous massages because her techs gave me the wrong one. I was so embarrassed on how I was talked as if I asked for anything extra. The owner said the $70 in which I had paid was on for them to barely touch me and I owed money. I will never be coming here again.

I loved the complete experience. I had some difficulty finding the place, but that was my fault because I entered the address in my GPS as being in VB instead of Chesapeake. The staff was reassuring and understanding, and the massage was far beyond my expectations. I had been living with severe pain that started 10 months ago, and when a chiropractor prescribed a medical massage to release my piraformis and other issues, I decided to give it a try. It changed my life, and I am going back again next week. Aliana was a fantastic listener and truly understood my body.

Sanitation, PPE and other precautions were all in place. Exceptionally safe environment. None of the precautions detracted for the service provided. Again, a one word description is EXCEPTIONAL!

While the massage therapist was friendly enough I left not happy and the more I think about it the more upset I am.I wanted a ptsd massage (i am twice diagnosed ptsd and panic disorder so felt i could benefit) after I got my lymphatic massage a few days prior. I didnt like the lymphatic massage because afterwards I was more swollen and didnt notice a change. I felt a bit sore and decided I didnt want to do it again. So when I was contacted about possibly doing a hybrid of the lymphatic massage and the ptsd, while hesitant, it was explained it would be beneficial so I agreed.So during my second message I went in with an open mind hoping for the best. Here are the things that bothered me.One, the therapist didnt wear a mask. While she asked if I was comfortable with her not wearing and I apprehensively agreed it would be ok, I dont think a medical massage facility should even ask if its ok or not. Its by law required to wear masks. It puts people on the spot. Not wanting to be rude I reluctantly agreed.Secondly, the massage hurt. And this is the biggest thing for me. I said repeatedly that it hurt and was told it was necessary even though I was scrunching my face, pulling away and vocal several times about my pain. 2 days later the swelling still hasnt improved and now Im even more inflamed where my ears and jawline are. I am apart of a support group for ladies who have had facelifts and necklifts. They all stated a lymphatic drainage massage would be very light pressure and if I said it was too much the therapist would take my lead. This was not the case at all. I wish I had more balls to get up and say we were done, but I kept trying to convince myself to take her word for it and to stick it out because she was the professional. Ive never had a lymphatic massage before but I have had well over a few hundred swedish and deep tissue massages and this was not light pressure at all. Im upset, to say the least. I feel like boundaries were crossed repeatedly.Im also upset because there was never any hybrid massage as mentioned on the phone. I got charged more for a service I didnt want in the first place and never got the one I originally signed up for!

I had a 60 min medical massage and can truly say that I got off her table feeling more relaxed with less muscle tension in my whole body. I’m a bodybuilder with a lot of muscle tension. I have been going to this Virginia Medical Massage for quite some time now. As a dancer and an athlete for a living, I tend to beat my body up pretty well throughout everyday. I don’t trust anybody to put me back together like I do the staff at VMM! I’ve booked with many different massage therapists here and I’ve never had a bad experience. This place has changed my life, and made my work and even daily life so much easier. The therapists are very precise and take extra care in each individuals own needs. They are also caring and passionate about what they do, I’ve always felt very welcomed and relaxed around the staff. The atmosphere is also very relaxing, cleanliness is on point and I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders almost immediately as I enter the building.I recently tried one of the new YoMassage classes. It was a 90 minute class, and it was kind of a mash up between Yin yoga, guided meditation/relaxation, and medical massage. I feel that I’ve benefited greatly from just one class and I definitely plan on returning. I’m in the middle of moving right now, and taking this class in between my packing sessions refreshed me completely and took a lot of my anxiety away.I fully recommend this facility, Andrea and her staff are miracle workers and they will change your life!
