Absolutely impressed with how my wisdom teeth extractions went!! Dr. Gray did an amazing job - my lower wisdom teeth were very close to the nerve but he effortlessly extracted them with no nerve damage at all! I have quite a bit of swelling which is to be expected but as someone who typically bruises very easily, I have ZERO bruising from surgery!! My dental assistant Haley was very thorough and informative, and even called to check on me a few hours after I returned home from surgery. My nurse Amber is officially only the second person to ever successfully give me an IV on the first try, and again with ZERO bruising!!! I am so thankful for the staff at Chesapeake Dental Specialist for their amazing care!!!

Extremely impressed and satisfied, I would recommend to anybody and everybody. The receptionists were very friendly and welcoming. All assistants were friendly and knowledgeable in answering any questions I had. Dr. Gray himself is very thorough in assessment and at explaining things in a way all patients can understand and he always left opportunity for questions about everything. He spent 30 minutes mapping and pinpointing my nerves for my wisdom tooth removal to be confident and ensure that he wouldn’t cause any long lasting damage. The day of surgery he and his assistants always gave me the opportunity to ask questions about anything. My surgery only took about and hour and as far as my healing is going all is well, I personally think I have ended up with the best case scenario with getting all four removed at once. The cost of this procedure was very affordable and reasonable and I was given an estimate for both possible procedures.Highly recommend, very caring people!

Was referred to Dr. Gray from my normal dentist for a removal of a exostosis. From the consult to the actual surgery day, Dr. Gray and his staff were nothing but kind and compassionate. Dr James Gray is a master of oral surgery. Professionalism, courtesy, and above all expertise is the name of the game at Chesapeake Dental Specialists. I went in for a bottom wisdom teeth extraction which had many nerves lined up around it and required bone grafting and anesthesia, an indubitably complex procedure. However, I came out of the clinic without so much as a single issue or complaint. It was a painless and efficient operation and I applaud the team at Dr Gray and his surgical team for their workmanship.

My first visit was Sep 2020 and he had to remove a tooth that was too difficult for my regular dentist. After the numbing process I did not realize he had removed the tooth because it was so painless. I returned June 2021 and the same experience. From start to finish everything was easy and straightforward, everybody on the team is very kind and informative plus all my needs were answered. I had 3 wisdom teeth removed and my right side didn’t have ANY discomforts, my left side had discomforts but their instructions helped me out tremendously and simple to understand. I met Dr. Koosha and his staff at Chesapeake Dental Specialist to learn if my cracked molar could be saved and crowned or if it had been damaged too severely. I must admit I was a little anxious, but the staff was so friendly and kind I found myself relaxing. I found Dr. Koosha, while young, to be an incredibly personable and well educated individual who put me at complete ease. He tested and inspected the tooth in multiple ways, never causing me pain. He said he wanted me to have verifiable proof to base my decision on. From the different angles he had xrays taken, we saw proof positive that the tooth was not a candidate for a crown as it was cracked through the pulp chamber. His illustrative explanations were so well understood, I was glad I came to him. Where I didn’t receive the prognosis I had hoped for, I have never had more laughs and fun with a medical team. I highly recommend Dr. Koosha and thank him for his efforts.

Let me just say, that Dr. Gray is smoother than cream cheese on a bagel! This facility is very knowledgeable & polite. It’s been 8 hours since I’ve had my wisdom teeth removed and i don’t feel any pain at all. I came from Richmond VA to have this done, it was worth the 2 hour ride there and 2 hour ride back! They’re the best in the 757! I HATE needles, but Dr. Gray even made that painless, didn’t even feel it. Hailey is super friendly and is an amazing assistant, she made sure Iwas super comfortable and relaxed. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr.Gray recently. This was my first surgery so I was concerned with recovery and being put under anesthesia. With all the horror stories I’d heard I expected an awful experience. To my surprise ,both the procedure and recovery were a breeze! After the first day there was minimal pain and swelling. It has been almost a week since the procedure and if it weren’t for the holes in my mouth I wouldn’t even be able to tell that anything had happened at all. Would definitely return for any other oral surgery I may (hopefully will not) need in the future!

My initial appt was very good. All staff are friendly and caring. My temp was taken immediately and followed with COVID19 questions. The entire office wore their mask correctly. Everyone was efficient in their job, no confusion. My insurance into was taken, pre auths done, no stress.My treatment took place 1 month later at my request, I didnt want teeth pulled during the holiday. Easy Peasy, I was given a appt that fit into my busy schedule with minimal time off from work. My procedure required driver since I received sedation. Every step I was treated professional and educated about my dental procedure by Dr. Grey himself. He explained to me and ask if I had any questions. I felt very comfortable and not even a bit nervous.My procedure went very well Im 2 weeks post now. DR Grey did an amazing job. Im sorry I waited so long to have this done. I truly didnt even need the prescribed pain meds after day 2. Slight swelling but thats all gone now. Procedure continues in 10 weeks. No worries I know Im in good hands with Dr Grey and his friendly caring staff. I will always recommend Chesapeake Dental Specialists to my family and friends. Thanks for returning my pretty smile to me. (Wink)

I needed a tooth removal and my dentist recommended this office to me after telling me how amazing they were. I was scheduled with Dr Gray. From the consultation to the actual procedure the staff at this office were extremely friendly and helpful. The office is clean and well taken care of. I was terrified walking in I was shaking. The nurse was so sweet and gave me emotional support. Dr Gray was very concerned about my comfort and made sure I was very numb. He even told me that it matters to him that his patients are comfortable and he does everything possible to make sure that happens. The procedure went so well and the tooth came out whole with no breaking. The best part is the lack of pain. Ive had another tooth removed at another office and all I remember was the worst pain for days. Im a little sore but barely any pain. I dont even need pain killers. Pain is like a 2 out of a 10. Dr Gray is amazing and would recommend him to anyone.

While seeing my normal dentist for an extraction, it became clear that they were unable to complete it so my dentist referred me to Dr. Grey’s office to have the tooth surgically removed. I was in pain and very uncomfortable along with a fear of what was going to happen, Dr. Grey and his staff completely put me at ease. A caring group of individuals made me feel like they had no one else on their schedule except for me. They took their time to explain what needed to be done and worked with me in completing the much needed paperwork. When they asked me questions about pain levels and how I normally handled surgical procedures, they were listening and offering on point suggestions. In this day and age a lot of doctors make you feel bad for taking pain meds or make you feel like a junkie. Not here! They were concerned about my comfort level after the procedure and during. They educated me on the hows and whys all while preparing me for an extraction and I never felt rushed or like a burden. I owe these guys a five star review. I was referred to Dr. Gray to have my wisdom teeth extracted (two on the top and one on the bottom). This was completely voluntary, as I was not suffering from any existing issues. Upon my initial consultation, I was warned of potential complications, but it was recommended that I move forward with the procedure at a preventative stand point. The procedure itself went smoothly. Afterwards, however, I suffered through some serious complications. I contacted the office and was asked to come in. Dr. Gray and his team were receptive to my concerns and took immediate action. I was sent to the hospital for an emergency procedure, in which he surgically removed an abscess that had resulted from the extraction. Dr. Gray continued to check up on me after hours and on the weekend. He even provided his cell phone number in case anything came up. My review is for the attentiveness of the staff and Dr. Gray during this difficult time. I do not attribute the troubles I experienced with their practice. Complications can arise under any medical procedure. Its how those issues were handled that made my experience here exceptional.

My experience with Dr. Nikeeta Patankar and her assistant was amazing. With this being my first root canal I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Dr. Patankar took her time and explained everything to me. Answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Painless and quick. I highly recommend Chesapeake Dental Specialist and will definitely go back if need be!

I had a wonderful experience at Chesapeake Dental Specialist, everything was explained and laid out to me be for anything was started, and that i fully understood what was going on and to expect. Also with everything going they practiced social distancing correctly and the safety of their patients was priority.

Had to get an extraction with Dr. Gray today and everything went smoothly and quick! I walked out in no pain. His assistant Shakia was very professional and kind allowing me a very relaxed visit!

Came in today, no appointment, with immense pain due to an erupted and infected molar(upper left). We are new to the area and as luck would have it, I broke a tooth requiring it’s removal. The staff at Chesapeake Dental Specialists were wonderful and scheduled an appointment for me the next day with Dr. Gray. Dr. Gray took the time to explain the procedure and what my next steps could be. Highly recommended!! Staff very courteous, Dr.Gray is very proficient in his craft and communicates as needed..Great assistants who make you feel at ease and comfortable...Flexible scheduling which is a big plus gets you right in!!

Hands down great experience for wisdom teeth removal. Removed on Thursday and was able to attend a christmas parade and literally all day football game Saturday no issues no swelling.
