I have been bringing my dogs here for years and have always been pleased, but the current mix of vets and vet-tecs have really surpassed my expectations. Every one from receptionist to Vet seem to help make the visit worry free. The medical care given to my dogs is designed to keep them healthy, they are committed during emergencies, and everyone is downright friendly. You leave knowing that your animal has had the best care available.

I am very thankful for this vet and staff. Our Maverick has anxiety and is anxious. They have gone over and beyond to work with us to make sure they take care of his needs. I/we true appreciate them. This was my first time visiting, and I called under emergency circumstances. They saw my pup in 2 hours time when my (former) vet wouldn’t and neither could the ER vet. They were prompt and courteous. I really appreciate the fact that they treated us like a regular patient! We found a new vet!!

Ive been bringing my cat here for a while and then decided to get a puppy. They told me what to expect with a puppy (medical care perspective) and my pup loves seeing the great staff at Mt. Pleasant Vet Clinic.

The staff was very helpful. They even brought cleaning supplies out to my car when my dog had an accident while we were waiting.

Love all the doctors and staff. They are very thorough and kind. Weve had several pets cared for by them and continue with our new puppy.

Cant say enough great things! Ive personally had Dr. Noce as one of my boys vet and she is just great! My two 🐾 kiddos got sick and Ive been called at least three times since their first visit to see how they are doing in their recovery, Ive had pets my whole life and Ive never been to a more involved and caring clinic. They really do make your pets part of their family. My husband and I are 100% set on this being our vet for any future visits and pets! This will be the place I recommend to anyone looking for a vet!!

This veterinary clinic staff have been my dog’s primary caregivers for six years since she was 8 weeks old. They are caring, responsive, and on top of everything. They take the time and effort to consider all aspects of her care, and recommend treatments only when needed. Dr. Bana is great, but when I can’t get an appointment with him—every other caretaker has been helpful and thorough. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

The staff are amazing. They are caring, very friendly, and professional. They all treat our baby just like she is one of their own. The doctors, nurses, and receptionist all take the extra time out to thoroughly explain details of our dog’s care and future needs. The facility is always immaculate. I give this organization the highest recommendation possible.

I called Mt. Pleasant VC in a panic b/c my new puppy was having problems his 2nd day home. They were so kind and patient with me on the phone and gave me instructions on how to care for him until the next morning, when they got me in first thing. The vet and assistant were both so sweet, and they made us feel very at ease. Plus, the value for services was incredible, and they sent us home with so much information on future vet costs and how to care for our pup. Will definitely be back!

Ive been coming to this clinic ever since it was named Companion Animal, under a different owner. Regardless of the number of doctors and staff that have come and gone, my pets have always been treated as priority. When financial hardships have been a problem, the staff has always worked with me, and never turned any pet away from treatment. Doctors explain diagnoses in an easy to understand manner, and have given me options on treatment plans. One time I came 25 minutes after the office closed with an injured cat. I was not turned away. Dr. Banta examined him and kept him overnight. Eye surgery was needed the next day, which was a Saturday, and his day off. Some businesses set strict rules and do not budge, but this place is not one of them. If you want to take your pet to a businesses which goes above and beyond, then Mt. Pleasant Veterinary Clinic is the place to go!

First time there. My dog was sick and they got me in that day. Staff was wonderful! Tech and Vet took time to talk with me and was not rushed. I was 100% impressed. And the price was very reasonable.

The only reason why I am leaving this review is because they came up while searching for a new clinic to take my puppy to, after he has been going to Mt. Pleasant for the past year. I had nothing to complain about until recently when they pocketed around $500-$600 for services they did not perform. We signed up for their membership (around $80 monthly) thinking most of his needs would be included in the monthly payment. After speaking with someone, they told me that the neutering is covered but not everything included in the procedure. After adding up the costs, it was actually cheaper to get him fixed by the SPCA. I let the representative know that we would just go elsewhere for that due to this and she replied okay.Months later, & we were still getting charged monthly and we inquired what that money was going towards since he is not due for anything else included in the contract. Nothing. Nothing was the answer and they refused to give us any amount of money back, along with no credit for future services. The only solution they gave was to cancel the last months draft from happening in the future & cancel the plan. That should have been the solution when I originally called and told them what our plan was. Or even just a oooh.. heads up because of your contract you will still be responsible to pay for it even if you do not get it. But they were so busy and just wanted to get me off the phone, she did not care that we were just going to keep paying for our funds to go into their pocket with no benefit to my animal other than the free nail trimmings thats included in the plan. I am sorry but a nail trimming is not worth the $80. I also stopped taking him for the trimmings because they did not do as good of a job than when we go to PetSmart.Lastly, my last ditch effort to give them the opportunity to make this right from a customer service perspective was ignored. As I stated to them, I only brought my pup here due to the raving reviews about their customer service from family/friends/coworkers. And I know that one customer leaving the clinic is not a big deal, and I was not expecting the moon and the stars. But if you cannot understand how this is not fair to a customer, then there is something very wrong.Side note the Norfolk SPCA was great and knowledgeable so please do not overlook them when searching for care. Neutering was only $100, and the staff was really nice... didnt mind going above and beyond to ensure I knew how to care for my pup afterwards and such.

So glad I found this Vet. Its the Veterinary clinic that I feel only has Vets that wanted to be Vets since they were kids. Because they love animals You are not just $ here. You are family. Thanks guys. You are the best.

Great place with absolutely 5 star service. Been with them since 3.5 years and never had any issues. Prompt responsive via phone or email. Dr. Banta, Dr. Noche...entire staff treats your pets as their. Would appreciate if their prices were a bit more comparable but I guess we get what we pay for!!! So no complains.

Mt Pleasant Vet is always there for us! Even before we were patrons, they took our Baby in when our own vet at the time couldnt find time to see her when she was very sick. And now that Mt Pleasant is our vet I have my confidence restored in a practice who truly cares for our fur baby! When our previous vet couldnt find this recent problem and put us off several times to do X-rays, Dr. Boland gave her a thorough exam and x rays and called me to go over everything in detail to confirm her diagnosis which was spot on! I appreciate that the doctor spoke with me as well! This practice is so wonderful from the very first phone call. I spoke to the receptionist at length about our history and she listened and never made me feel rushed to explain things and i felt her compassion for all that we had been through! Everyone here is so professional and so kind! We travel almost 30 miles to go here and it is worth it!

I was very impressed with the care we received for my dog. We just moved to the state and needed same day care. They were able to get me in same-day, we’re so kind and gave me all the information I needed. We will be making Dr. K. our primary vet here!!

I was referred here by a girl on Facebook that used to live here and she loved these Vets and staff. Ive never met this woman but weve become friends through social media. Anyway, my Pittie Lilly had torn her ACL and the first Vet I took her to, immediately wanted to do surgery or possibly amputate her leg!!So, after talking to this woman who referred me, we saw Dr. Banta and he said it wasnt torn completely so we gave her pain meds and Glucosamine, crated her most of the time for a couple of weeks and shes fine!!! We love everyone there!!❤

This has been our only small animal vet since Dr. Banta bought the practice. We are a family with many 4 legged members and over the years we have never been disappointed in the care we received. I have recommended this vet many many times to friends. I truly believe they are the best.

My dog was vomiting on/off for 24hrs when I called and they were very quick to work me in to treat his GI upset, even though they were busy. All the staff and drs I’ve encountered here are very helpful, compassionate, and they go above and beyond. I had concerns later that evening and they made me an early apt for the next day to ensure major was ok. They don’t push products or pricey treatments. They really do care about your pet and you and it really shows. I could not be happier to have my pets go here for care. I feel they are in very safe hands!

They worked us in on a Friday afternoon when our baby was clearly in pain and they are not even our regular vet!! As it turned out she had a double ear infection so they saved her a lot more pain and a loooong and very stressful wait at the emergency vet for her and us!!! They are so kind and compassionate from the receptionists to the techs to the Doctors! I can’t say enough good about them. I wish they weren’t so far away from us!!

Very efficient particularly in the COVID environment. Theyve always let me know of the potential procedures and costs associated prior to moving forward allowing me to decide. My pups have had major procedures to nail trims (which is major for one pup) and am pleased with their work. They follow up and (not sure of the unprofessional person that mentioned about their records from another Vet clinic) do in fact have what all my animals background of medications, appointments, ect. Keep up the great work!

I totally would not take my dog anywhere else. Dr, Banta and his staff are wonderful, professional and so nice. Even with the curbside we have to do now , Dr Banta was on the phone with me for a good 20 mins discussing things with me and making sure I had all the answers I needed . His staff followed up with anything else they could. They took great care of Natasha and she came back to me happy. Very important fact. Totally give them a call if you need a Vet.

Havent been a client here but work at another clinic with a mutual client and the medical records are some of the worst Ive ever had to sort through. Just spent 15 min on the phone with a new client trying to figure out when their next puppy vaccines are due thanks to the hot mess my clinic received. Please look into having sensible medical records so others can decipher what youve done!

We have loved this place until a recent experience with the counter help and unfortunately the office manager. Stopped by 30 minutes before closing to pick up a prescription I was told would be ready the day before and was told that I had to come back Monday for it. Mind you it was only a flea and tick prevention that they have in their office. But she wouldn’t grab it for me because they were “having their floors cleaned”. I work and manage in customer service, if you are open then you are open. Maybe you should mop the floors after you close... just a suggestion. Then after I came back on Monday and spoke with the office manger I was very much dismissed. Poor customer service and management. Also requested both my pets records by email before leaving because I wouldn’t be back. It took my new vet 3 requests before getting them. I still have yet received the email I was told I would get that day.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Dr. Banta and his team for always providing the best and most tender care for our Mr. Williams. You cared for him in the routine things and helped to manage his allergies, and you cared for him when his favorite chew toy became a bowel obstruction and when a loss of appetite was determined to be lymphoma. This week was one of the most difficult times Ive experienced, but this morning was more peaceful and beautiful than I could have hoped for.

I do not write many reviews but I would like to say that after trying four other vets in the Great Bridge/Hickory area and finally found Mt Pleasant. Dr. Banta is exceptional and the latest two vets to join have not disappointed. I have to mention that on our very first visit Dr. Banta got down and sat on the floor with our pup at the time, who was up in age. This made her more comfortable and my husband and I just looked at each other and smiled, we knew we had found the right vet.Vet care can be expensive and I like the fact that the show you the costs before asking if you want to proceed and they do not make you feel guilty if you choose not to do something, like I have experienced elsewhere. We have been using them now for about 8 years, if not longer and they have cared for four of our pups!Thanks to all the staff! Cindy & Jamie Wakefield

I have been taking my dogs here for over 15 years. Dr. Banta is a great vet. His staff are always very kind & understanding. There are 2 other vets, both women, who are also wonderful. The quality of care that Mt. Pleasant offers is the absolute best.

This place is horrific. Do not bring your animal here even if its to have them put your animal to sleep. The vets are inexperienced, rude, horrible with pets and have no clue what they are doing. They basically killed our dog and cat in a years time. Do not trust them. If they tell you that your animal has a thyroid issue take your pet elsewhere and have them tested. Do not trust these vets.

Extremely disappointed with our care at Mount Pleasant. We were clients for the past 7 years and they started out wonderful and so kind. But their care and service has declined so much in the past 3 years since our cat developed some health issues and it just started to seem all about the money. The final straw was when we had to say goodbye to our fur baby a couple of weeks ago. I called TWICE in tears asking to speak to someone and/or schedule an appointment because I was afraid it was time to say goodbye. The first time i called i was reassured that Dr. Banta would call as soon as he got there at 3 pm. Well by 4.30 I hadnt heard from him and called again (in tears) and said it was an emergency. I was told they were closing in 30 minutes, so we should take our cat to the emergency vet, which we did and sadly it was his time to go, which broke our hearts into a million pieces. We never once heard back from their office to follow up or return our calls from the previous day to see what happened. When i finally gathered myself enough to call and tell them how awful and inappropriate that was, all i got was excuses as to why Dr. Banta never returned my calls, which is just inexcusable. The HARDEST part of being a pet owner is saying goodbye and that is the vets time to shine and be there for their clients. Its been another week since i called and we havent heard another word. We will be transferring our other pet as soon as we find a vet we are happy with. Also, side note.. Bay Beach Emergency Vet is outstanding. If we lived closer, they would be our normal vet office.

Love this clinic and I highly recommend them. They were very kind to my small dog when she was a puppy and they are very caring and helpful. I know my puppy likes them shes very good behaved for the staff as well.

We love this vet we always choose this vet for our dogs so nice and wonderful staff techs and receptionist are great the main doctor is wonderful and other vet come and ago but are great. Dr. Bateman is wonderful our favorite vet and all staff is sweet they really make your visit wonderful and your animal compainion feel welcome. Our shadow recently died unfortunately and they sent this sweet wonderful letter and made a paw print to remember him. They said they and us lost a family member

I am completely underwhelmed by the level of care consistently provided by this practice. Despite the fact that our cat has been a patient for nearly three years, every time we take him in, it is like reestablishing his medical history all over again.

Mt. Pleasant Veterinary Clinic has respectable veterinarians and staff, but their customer service is very frustrating. They seem too busy for their office size. The doctors are always in a room and if you call rarely will you get the veterinarian, which means if you have a follow-up question you wait all over again. They really push their own pharmacy, and didnt like to do verbal authorizations. Its 2018, plenty of doctors do verbal authorizations. They dont work with 1-800 pet meds. They wanted us to do 2 follow-up appointments for a routine dental removal. 2? thats entirely unnecessary. I just got the overall feeling that you were doing them a favor! We are going back to our old vet clinic in Virginia Beach.

I would actually give them between 3 and 4 stars but I chose 3 stars due to the outrageous prices for not only their services ( and I totally get that You can’t put a cost on the health of your pet) but also their medications/sundries. This is the fourth Vet in Virginia I have been to in six years, due to relocation for my job, and they are by far the most expensive of them all.The staff is extremely pleasant, each and every time I call or come in. They are always busy but they never seem to Get overwhelmed or make customers wait longer than they should. I think the biggest issue I have with this veterinarian hospital is the fact they misdiagnosed my dog with hypothyroidism and when confronted about their misdiagnosis, they explained that even though he may not be in full swing of the disease, he did have a trace of it (not enough to be worried about, much less be on medication every single day of his life for it) and therefore it’s always best to treat your pet versus waiting until it got into a full blown out problem. I understand that to a degree, however after sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour one afternoon, and watching 3 of 3 customers walk in to Either pick up medication or because they had an appointment, for their pet who had Hypothyroidism, I can’t help but wonder if I was not the only one who has a pet that was “misdiagnosed”......???My advice to others — take your pet there if you live in the area and need a friendly, safe, and clean vet. But don’t drive out of your way to come here - it’s not worth the gas money or extra drive time!

Best vets ever! Went to 4 other places that I was very disappointed with. A friend reccomend them. I had second thoughts because of the drive (30 mins) but it is well worth it. Oh & the ladies at the front desk are absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much 😊

I was happy with this veterinarian, unfortunately for the past few weeks I have been put on hold immediately for hold times lasting in the 15 minute range before even speaking to someone. My dog had a bad reaction to medicine and they were too busy to see him at their office, it seems like they are very overbooked, too busy to talk to clients, too busy to see clients, too busy for business...sometimes there is something to be said for companies who arent too big and can maintain a good relationship with customers.

Dr. Banta & his staff are the most loving, caring veterinary care providers. They knowledge & provide the best care for my all my fur babies. Top notch!

We just had an emergency vet appointment for our rottweiler, Achilles. After quick inclusive blood work panel, physical examination, tick/heartworm test, out pooch was diagnosed with a ticket borne disease. The veterinarian and assistant were very professional and compassionate. My favorite part is that they are reasonably priced. issuehassistance

Dr. Banta and staff are incredible. He preformed surgery on my dog over 3 years ago. Recently, my dog had a flare up where Dr. Banta did surgery and made sure my dog was okay. He prescribed him some medicine and the staff called to check on him. Dr. Banta loves all the animals that comes in. I see him loving on all the pets. He takes his time and makes sure you are comfortable with understanding the medicines and how to give it to your dog. He has other vets that are just as wonderful that work there. I completely trust Mt. Pleasant Vet. Hospital.

I love this clinic especially Dr. Banta. He is amazing introduces himself as David which makes me feel as Im interacting with a friend not a Doctor and he is very personable compared to my last veterinarian who loved talking to me and my family in strict medical terms almost making me feel as if she didnt want me to understand or maybe to make us feel less than or perhaps a constant reminder to herself that she is educated.. Who knows but this place is so different very down to earth and very eager to keep clients happy whether offering water or coffee upon entrance or addressing me by name as I walk through the door as well as my dogs on my second visit. They were very thorough too I had several phone conversations to report lab results and then a call to tell me my pet had no worms and another call to see how my dog was doing. They also sent me a welcome card with coupons for grooming (excellent groomer by the way knowledgeable and knows what shes doing with grooming - best my dog ever looked) and coupon for a microchip 2 days after I left there. I am truly blown away it was soooo much more than I ever would have expected so satisfied that Im doing the 1st review I have EVER done in my life!!!!

Spent six weeks and over $800 here, saw 2 different vets. My dog is still not healed. I will be taking him somewhere else to get healthy. Kept giving him same meds over and over, probiotics and expensive dog food, still sick. 🤔🤔😠

They are awesome. Dr. Banta is very personal, the staff was all very friendly. Working for a specialty-medicine vet clinic I am picky about where I take my dogs, and I wont take them anywhere else.

I called Mt Pleasant Veterinarian Clinic to see if they could remove a decaying tree limb I found lodged horizontally in my labs palate today, while brushing her teeth. The receptionist put me on hold, checked with The Dr, and told me to bring Moneypenny in right away. This is the only vet we have ever used for our puppy. I even told them my daughter has been very sick with a fever for three days, so they told me I could just drop our furball off for examination and treatment, and they would call me when she was done. At first they tried to get the irritant out with a quick exam and instrument in a private rm, while I was at the check in desk, however, that was not doable. Apparently the stick had been stuck up in there for a few wks, and her bone/tissues had started to grow around it. Thankfully, I was able to leave her there, and Dr. Banta was able to remove the stick with a local anesthetic. He took pictures, and even kept the tree limb for me to see post removal. He sent her home with antibiotics to prevent infection as well. I am so grateful to Mt. Pleasant Veterinary Clinic for seeing us so quickly on a late Fri afternoon, and taking care of our crazy princess with so much care. We love this veterinarian practice! She has a follow up in 2 wks. Also, I was expecting this bill to be higher than normal, due to it being done on a semi-emergency basis, however, I was pleasantly surprised when a reasonable quote was given to me. Same day exam, surgery, and out the door meds given to us for well under $300.00. I lost one dog to Sepsis when I was five years old, due to a fishhook she bit into, and would hate for another child/family animal to have to endure what I had to early in life. I am truly thankful for the immediate services our family received when we were in desperate need with Mt. Pleasant Veterinarian Clinic.
