Destination Imagination helped me develop a lot of skills from a young age up. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun and develop skills at the same time. DI really helps promote teamwork and other basic skills.

“Pain” is the only word I can use to describe it. Nobody listened to my ideas or anything I said. During the instant challenges, they just ignored what I had to say. The regional final was agonizing, and I was SO GLAD that I didn’t have to go through that again. Good thought, terribly executed.#StillSufferingTwoYearsLaterAndAshamedICouldn’tStopIt

Beware if your child wins top 3 in the state (6% chance in our case)...Pressure is intense to go to the final tournament- you feel like youll let down the whole team, not just your child, if you deny them this opportunity. This final competition costs at least $3750 to register a team. Their parent guide says: The cost of registering a team is low—only $95 for one team. This is of course, just the first fee, not that they mention that. Then, after we registered for the final tournament, we found out there are more expenses (for the educational activities) that were falsely advertised in their brochure as being included in the registration fee. Our total expenses for a team of 5 ended up close to $8000 - and we are within a days drive away, and had modest accommodations - you can spend much more. Consider other competitions that award prizes rather than expensive final tournaments.
