The Chelsea Jewish Foundation is One of the best places I have ever worked. I have learned so much in relation to senior care and alzheimers. Fantastic staff and colleagues. They actually care about the people that are in there.

Katzman (Chelsea Jewish) seems good on the outside, especially compared to some other facilities, but the care itself leaves a lot to be desired. My mother was placed here for rehabilitation but the staff gave up on her pretty quickly, seemingly intent to let her lay in bed in a soiled diaper all day instead of encouraging physical therapy so she could go home. The head of physical therapy was adamant in giving up on her, doctors orders went unheeded by staff, and staff made excuse after excuse to deny providing a shower. No one should have to sit in soiled diapers to the point they develop rashes and blisters. No one should be allowed to develop urinary tract infections because they are left dirty. No should should be given up on.If youre looking for rehabilitation, stay away from Katzman Family Living.

A most caring and compassionate team of caregivers at Katzman Family Center for Living. I cannot say enough of Amy, my dad’s nurse, she was so giving and caring during his moments there. Roger, his nurse, and Gene, was also helpful and caring as well. The food looked good and facility was clean when we visited. Protocols where in place and followed through out the COVID crisis.I would highly recommend this place for your loved one. My dad was treated as If he was part of the family. Again, the nurses were the most compassionate, esp. Amy.

The Katzman Center for Living is one of the best nursing and rehab centers Ive been to. Im a vendor that visits the facility and nearly 30 others on a weekly basis. Very clean and welcoming is what Id say about it. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, I would spend quite a bit of time inside the building, interacting with staff and residents while inspecting equipment. After the pandemic was under way, The Chelsea Jewish Foundation was one of the first to bring things under control and bring an order to the chaos. I can safely say that if and when I ever need to live in such a place, The Chelsea Jewish Foundation will be my first choice. The staff and administration really care about the residents, their work and each other. Im always seeing signs posted for events for residents and families, and things like food pantry for employees on Fridays. Certainly consider this place for your loved ones.

The staff make this a good experience and care for my Dad for the last 2 years. They care about their work with the patients. They offer opportunities such as bingo, crafts, cookouts, and restaurant trips. The rec. director makes it fun. This is a skilled nursing facility with excellent RN nurses and CNAs. Common space is open planning living room/room dining room home like open style with an open kitchen. You will not see nursing home equipment in halls or spaces making it feel more like a home. The cafe and lobby is new and modern w large windows looking out over Boston’s skyline. It makes a nice meeting place with coffee and pastry.

We are very disappointed in the lack of communication and transparency during this COVID-19 pandemic. And I speak for many families who also have loved ones at the Katzman Center for family Living in Chelsea Ma and and Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center in Peabody. We know these are challenging times and the system is stretched to the limits. That is why daily consistent communication is key. Just return calls promptly, be able to answer basic health questions. The inconsistency with all families is very frustrating. You are extremely understaffed and those that are working are overwhelmed. Help them so that they can take care of our loved ones! Only when we reached out to the media did you post a press release on your website about the widespread issues at your facilities.

This place is horrible! I had a family member there and she said only horrendous things about that place. Don’t ever send your love one there.

My elderly aunt was transferred to the rehab unit. Be careful as I was her piwer of attorney snd health care proxy. They refused to speak with me or provide information until my husband and I flew from our home 600 miles away to sign papers with my aunt. My husband, a prominent physician, read the chart and determined that she was receiving an unnecessary med that was adversely affecting her. With his urging they tapered the meds but they needed more time for the meds to wash out of her system. Fortunately my aunt got much better. Terrible medical care delivered thoughtless!!!

My Mother was here in 2012 for rehab . I was very happy that she was able to be there because for all the bad things you hear about nursing homes none of those issues occured here. The first thing you will notice is when you walk in there is no offensive smells. The staff is caring, attentive , pay attention . Physical therapists do an excellent job and my Mother was determined to work hard and come home . The therapists did a great job and she was ready to come in 2 weeks because they did a great job and she did what she was told to do so when she did come home.the 85 year old woman who could not get out of bed without assistance 2 weeks earlier had improved that she was 75% better than 2 weeks earlier . The food is fresh with many choices and excellent for an institutional facility .Steven Beadles

My personal experience with this place was disgusting. my grandmother broke her hip and they did nothing to help her,she laid there in pain and she was cold because they gave her this tiny blanket, I literally had to ask them to give her pain meds *they dont treat people well at this place *I wouldnt have even gave it a star but I had to rate this place. Look into this place before you put any of your loved ones there.

Id give less stars if I could. They severely over-drugged my mother to the point she almost died. Took 3 months at Beth Israel Hospital to wean her off drugs. I should have sued!
