This is not a place for the mentally ill the heal. I was just released yesterday. Their common room where the TV is smells like body odor to say the least. Most of the patients end up helping other patients because they are so understaffed. There are some great nurses and some great techs. However there are also the ones that just don’t care. I believe they are so overwhelmed by having too many patients. I don’t believe it’s their fault at all. They need more staffing!! I believe they need a major health inspection. This place was truly filthy!! No one on my floor wore mask. I did not even get a folder with the rules and regulations. I did not receive toothpaste deodorant or lotion until I had to ask for it and then wait for it. Again I do not think this is the nurses and techs fault. They work very hard, too hard. They need more staff!! I can honestly say I came out worse than when I went in. There was no peace there. They allowed the men/women to curse and say nasty things to everyone including myself. There was no order. No Discipline. It was complete chaos to say the least. I was there for seven days. They lock you out of your own room for around 7am to 3:30. That is especially hard for us that have anxiety to be around those who create so much chaos. Some major changes need to be done. Thanks if you reading this πŸ™

I have been in this place multiple times and it’s terrible. They only care about the money. I was in the child unit and I got worse when I was there. They didn’t check my pockets and I had a razor that I brought in. They don’t want to help yoy

After blood work and evaluation, the doctors gave me a few diagnoses as well as found out I have hyperthyroidism. They never came to me to discuss any of these diagnoses with me. They wrote on my paperwork that I refused to discuss psychiatric & health diagnoses. Would not recommend. They do not even spend much time 1 on 1

My son was committed here they only kept him for 4 days and then released him to a homeless shelter. When we got a hold of the day he was released he was still sick. Now we have to find him a way to get back into the hospital. Moccasin Bend is a much better hospital.

I spent 5 days there a few months back, it was alright it was just really cold at night and the blankets were really thin, the day room was boring there was really nothing to do but the staff were really nice to me along with the other patients just don’t really see how it helps with mental illness/ health.

Our teen spent nearly 2 weeks here and they called to discharge immediately with no warning AS I WAS IN ACTIVE PUSHING LABOR, called every 10 minutes even after having husband, labor nurse, and my mother talk to different people saying that i was actively delivering a placenta or having my perineum sewn up. We are 2+ hours from this hospital and had no warning that they were going to discharge today, and the original plan was being transferred to another placement through alabama dhr and then they called saying we needed to find somebody to pick up immediately and they wouldnt hold for dhr to find placement(AGAIN I WAS ACTIVELY PUSHING A BABY OUT). They were incredibly rude and impatient expecting somebody to immediately go get our teen again as i was avtively pushing a human outside of my body. The phone rang so many times i made my husband answer and tell them i was pushing a baby out and they went straight into talking about money. Insensitive, rude, unprofessional and disrespectful.

I went here myself, when I first arrived my bathroom had dried blood that looked like it had been there for a long time. I never got time outside the group to focus on my own mental health issues!! I arrived before the sunrise...and I was exhausted and they didn’t even let me sleep so I was sleep deprived! I didnt get to meet with a therapist and the doctor was rude! I don’t suggest to anyone going through a mental health crisis to come here!

Please update your website and remove any mention of treatment for dual diagnosis call the place what it is: lacking in care, compassion and trained staff. The worst experience our family has had while seeking treatment for mental health/addiction for our child. Go to hell Erlanger.

I was there for 2 weeks, it’s fine overall. The medicine didn’t really help me at all but the friends that you get to make there are fun (most of them at least). The only part I didn’t like was sleeping at night, it was super super cold and the beds weren’t comfortable and the sheets and blankets and super thin so I was cold in there the whole time.

My best friend had to stay here after an involuntary discharge and the place seems INCREDIBLY mismanaged. It took them two days to contact her psychiatrist to get her medication, they wouldnt let the patients have any time outside (because someone ESCAPED the week before), she wasnt allowed to have her phone at all, not even to call her dad who lives in Mexico. Overall, very many complaints. More than I mentioned. Terrible experience for her and when she told me about it I was baffled at how awfully it was managed.

I just spent 5 days here. The facility was clean and MOST of the staff were very understanding. Dr bow tie as I call him was very reasonable. I met his nps and they were just as amazing. Food was good for hospital food, they got my meds regulated and I feel better than I did while I was there. My room stayed cleaned.

Most of the staff were very kind and uplifting, but some of the staff were rude, especially one if the doctors. Ill refer to them as doctor M. They talked very cockily to me and overall belittled me and acted superior. They also didn’t respect my request to not be put on a certain medication I didn’t like. The seats were uncomfortable and we didn’t get to go outside very often. The activity room often smelt. As a vegetarian, I had very little options to eat. Some of the food was gross but was alright. Overall it’s a nice and clean facility but my main concern was the doctor and it’s unsettling knowing that they are working in the medical field. In addition to my complaints about the doctor, I was kept in the facility longer than I needed to be. But I was lucky considering others were kept longer than I was. Some of the rules regarding visitations and phone calls were bs as well. If you have a choice, don’t come here. If you don’t, then you will probably be okay. It just sucks being in this environment.

Big thanks to Dr hall and nurse Brittany and especially all the techs for really showing that you cared about me and your patience and hard work. You guys saved my life. The nurse really took the time to talk to me,looking back I’m surprised she didn’t lose patience because I was coming off drugs and I was really rude to her and took it out on everyone. the only reason I want to recognize nurse Brittany is because she was so sweet n not rude back to me which was what I’m used to,she sat and just listened and that’s all I needed.I only wish they had more stuff we could do during the day or more groups I really enjoyed it and I’m getting my life on track.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I had a loved one here and it’s a mad house. The nurses and assistants are all scattered. I asked to speak with a manager and she was nowhere to be found. When I called to check on my family member the nurses always had some sort of excuse and would not answer a single question. Promised to call back and never did. This place is terribly unorganized and understaffed. I will never suggest this place to anyone in a mental health crisis.

I had a very close love one stay here and the place is very nasty and has bed bugs. The floors are never mopped or cleaned. There was no heat in the room they had to sleep in at night. During the time of stay my family member said they was puke dried up on the floor and never cleaned up. The stuff is very lazy and doesn’t won’t to help anyone. They also mix the men and women togather. I wouldn’t suggested anyone with mental disabilities stay here cause they don’t take the time to makes sure your taken care of or your problems are helped.

This place is horrible. During my time here, I was never listened to, nor was I taken serious when I stated any concern for my safety. They allow you to go to the gym for 30 minutes a day, and you’re lucky if you can go outside. All you do is sit in your room and take medicine. This place is designed to bring out all symptoms of your mental illness just so they can diagnose you and give you medicine. All the other patients were so messed up from medicines, most of them just slept the whole time or spaced out. Mental illness is just as serious as any other disease and should be taken seriously. Sadly though, this facility sees you as a way to make more money. Please save yourself time, money, and stress, and DO NOT go here.

I was discharged from this facility very recently. The staff seem genuinely invested in helping the patients get better; theyre very patient, generally speaking, and do what they can to make your stay as painless as possible. The doctors are fantastic; they werent quick to overmedicate me, and we seem to have found just the right things to ease my symptoms! The building itself is nice, the food is pretty good for hospital food!My one complaint is that the facility is painfully understaffed. That comes with a newer facility, of course, so I hope to hear that this place improves over time!

I would have rated this place a big fat 0 but unable to. Took my son there who by the way is suicidal and he was told he doesnt meet their criteria to be admitted. The only reason he wasnt admitted was because at this time he has no insurance. How sad is that. Turning your back who desperately needs help to have them look the other way all because of the Golden dollar. I wouldnt recommend this place to my dog!!!

A loved one was admitted and discharged not long ago. I just have to rave about, not only how incredibly nice this facility is, but the care professionals were very helpful. Shout out to the 2 that stood out the most; Brittany Smith (Matheny) and Kimberly the 3rd shift receptionist!! Brittany was extremely attentive to the care of this patient, and I witnessed this 1st hand every visit, and during discharge. She went ABOVE & BEYOND for not only our loved one, but also for our family when we would come and visit. Brittany is an excellent nurse (RN), and I would trust her with anyone dear to me. She will go out of her way to care for her patients, and ensure to the best of her abilities that the patients needs are met. She is a very sweet soul!! Kimberly @ the front desk was very warm and welcoming. At the end of ____ stay, I felt like her and I were good friends, but she remained very professional, just easy to talk to. Both her and Brittany were quick to build trustworthy rapport. THANK YOU BOTH, THANK YOU EBH!!
