This has happened a few times and wondering if its happened to anyone else? I can not for the life of me get in touch with them via phone. It does not even ring and goes strait to a dropped call. This morning I have tried from two different land lines and cell phones, so I know its not a problem on my end.

Dr. Gunter and his staff are wonderful. He’s been my son’s pediatrician since birth and I’m so thankful! We’re almost a decade in, and he’s guided us through every stage and snotty nose. Galen Peds also has a sick clinic for unexpected visits. My son was seen by Dr. Tigar there. Dr. Tigar and his staff also provided wonderful care. They’re all very comprehensive and compassionate. They also always provide great guidance regarding steps to take at home. So, so thankful for this wonderful group!On a side note, I saw one parent had been concerned regarding rude front desk staff members. This issue must have been addressed because the staff members I’ve encountered on the phone and in person are always pleasant and do their best to help.

I had an annual check up with Dr William Smith today and unfortunately, the exam was unprofessional and incomplete. The doctor was rude and did not explain any rationale behind the questions he was asking/statements he made. People go to the doctor to gain an understanding of their general health, not to be talked to as if they are incompetent. Truthfully, I’m not sure how this guy has recurring patients if this is his output. If you are looking for a MD to perform a comprehensive annual check up, find someone else.

Both of my children are patients here of Dr Spraggins, and we can’t say enough good things about her! She is alway so kind and great with our kids, as well as the nursing staff. However, the front desk staff are some of the rudest I’ve encountered. They speak with attitude and lack of compassion. I dread taking my kids into the office for having to deal with the attitude and pure hatefulness from the receptionists.

I have been a patient of Dr. Derryberry for almost a year now. He listens to my concerns and is thorough in determining exactly what I have needed. He has treated me for a couple different illnesses and I always felt like I was getting the care and treatment I needed. Sometimes an extended wait is necessary to get through on the phone, but once through, the staff has always been polite, helpful and professional. In an emergent situation they went the extra steps to get answers to my questions via phone. It is a large practice, but I have received care and attention that is personal! My husband and grown children are scheduled with Dr. Derryberry soon because of the excellent care I received.

Yesterday, I walked into Galen Medical feeling helpless. My anxiety and depression symptoms rule my life. After my visit, I felt hopeful, heard, and understood. I’m finally getting the care I’ve needed. We discussed symptoms, options, recommendations, and the why behind everything - which is helpful for me. I’m very happy with my visit and look forward to continuing my care with this team.

We’ve been taking our almost one year old since he was just a few days old. Dr. Gunter is awesome! Always very helpful, knowledge and eases the “parent” mind (especially being a first time parent) we also had to take him for a sick appointment and saw Dr. Tiger, her was awesome too!

I recently moved to the Chattanooga area and tried making an appointment here due to ongoing back issues. Was told the only available provider was Dr. Smith, whos reviews are absolutely horrible. I have been told that Dr. Gooden is a great doctor for this area, but the very rude receptionist, Ashley, shut that down by telling me the first available appointment for her would be in July. That is four months away! I asked how sick patients make an appointment but she would not say anything other than that I could make an appointment for July. Unfortunately, this is a similar experience that I have seen in other reviews for this office. It is obvious this facility is a money making machine that has no interest in patient satisfaction. As a health care provider myself, I am sad to see this level of unfeeling practice at a place meant to make you feel better.

My baby was born in August. Healthy and perfect. From the second we walked into this office it seemed like the doctor was trying to find something wrong with my child. Two days old she had me worried about jaundice, even though no one said a word in the hospital. The second visit was her one month and she said her there was something wrong with her feet. We were referred to TC Thompson’s to see an Orthopedist. He looked at us like we were crazy and said that our baby was completely healthy and didn’t understand why we were there. On her 2 month appointment She noticed that my baby has one blue eye and one brown eye. I asked the doctor about it and she said it was fine. She then googled it and said she couldn’t guarantee it was nothing and so she referred to an optometrist. Once again, we were told everything was perfectly healthy. On her 4 month appointment the doctor said she heard an extra sound while listening to her heart. She then referred us to a cardiologist. After waiting a month and a half to see the cardiologist My 5 month old baby sat through a lengthy ultrasound and an EKG just to be told once again that she was completely perfect.I’d like to believe that she had a better safe than sorry attitude, but I honestly just didn’t get the feeling that she knew what she was talking about.The office was not prompt and when we were referred to all these specialists I had to call and see when they set up the appointment each time even though they assured me they would call with the information.I don’t know if there is a kickback for referring to specialists, but if there is she is abusing it. maybe she was just afraid of a lawsuit.Regardless, I will not be returning to this office because i honestly feel like she would send my baby to a specialist after every visit.I highly advise against Dr. Karin Miller.

Dr. Gunter is wonderful! He interacts so well with children. My son and daughter love him, and I like him as well. Sometimes it is hard to call in for appointments, but once you finally get through to a receptionist you are usually able to get a same day appointment if you need it.

I am impressed with Galen, their facility and their staff. We get into the office to be seen within a reasonable time from our set appointment. Dr. Gunter is great with my kids and makes them feel comfortable. He discovered a curve in my daughters spine that our previous pediatrician had never checked for.

Be sure that you receive some sort of legitimate confirmation when you schedule any appointments. I took time off of work to make my appointment. When I arrived, they told me my appointment was not in the system. I gave them the exact date and time of when I placed the call and scheduled my appointment. I even showed them on my phone where I had called and asked that they find the recording to verify my appointment. They told me that they unfortunately dont record the phone conversations and that there was nothing they could do at this point. My only option was to reschedule.It is a 25 minute drive from my work to the office. It is an inconvenience, to say the least, for me to reschedule. This is not the first inconvenience Ive experienced with Galen. They clearly have no respect for their patients time or an organized system. Im very upset that they didnt even attempt to make the situation right.

All of the staff is courteous, they have a separate childrens and sick childrens waiting room which is awesome. My daughters pediatrician is knowledgeable and helpful. Its super easy to schedule an emergency appointment, if you call early it is usually the same day

I dont recommend the pediatricians here. The Dr that was originally my sons first pediatrician, literally missed a colon disease that my son was born with. We brought up issues we were concerned about, like him not passing meconium and spitting all his formula up. They blew it off and the Dr never even did a simple Xray which would have shown the diseased colon and in turn wouldve saved my son at least 1 surgery and kept him from nearly dying and going into emergency surgery less than 24 hours after being released from the hospital. As for Dr. Height, I saw her as my personal Dr and I have nothing but good things to say about her. Shes easy to speak with and I was always comfortable with her and trusted her. I wish she was still my doctor. I rated Galen a 4 based on my personal stuff and not the things with my son and his pediatrician.

Review for Galen not a specific provider:The physician I was seeing left suddenly and I didnt get notice until my reminder call for my appointment. I called to inquire about the PA and if there would be disruptions to care. I was assured there would not be but this was not the case.Review for the provider:Robert Sciulli PAC treated me poorly. He attempted to mislead me and blatantly lied to me. I felt like I had to calm him down during our conversation. Not a professional interaction.Overall:I have reached out to the administration to discuss but have not heard back as of yet. Which is also disappointing and has lead to my overall 1 star review.

This is a very good practice. I’m glad my children are cared for by this group of practitioners and staff.

Fantastic, Caring Staff. I have been seeing Dr. Newman for about a decade and she is truly fantastic! She is always caring, personable, and knowledgeable.

Dr. Derryberry doesnt listen to your concerns. I went in to have my thyroid checked and he didnt even address it. I have a lump by my thyroid and you can see it and he didnt even check it out. Told me I had acid reflux and wrote me a prescription and said see you in a month. Worst doctor I have ever been to.

Very upset with this practice. My son has been a patient here for several years. He has type 1 diabetes and is also autistic. I made his yearly physical, we drove down from Cleveland to be seen, and he missed a day of school. I signed him in, done all the paperwork and then was called up to the desk to be told they no longer take his insurance. Why wasn’t I told that over the phone while making the appointment? I was ask if there were any changes, I said no. Very frustrating.

Rating this facility a 1 for a few reasons. First, on my first well visit with my 4 day old son the girls at the front advised me my insurance didnt cover my new born for 30 days! Wrong! They didnt even try to file a claim just told me they dont take it and made me pay out of pocket before they saw my son. The doctor I researched and picked made me feel terrible on our first time meeting in the hospital. Two days post partum, after a traumatic delivery and zero sleep, comes in to meet me and makes me feel stupid, under prepared and totally judged on my future plans for my baby because we were scheduled to move after the baby was born. Womens east was completing amazing and I had a great experience with them....unfortunately everything pediatric was severely lacking. Glad Im moving so I dont have to go back there.

This will be a short and real review.First if you are reading this save yourself the time and frustration of Gaylan Pediatrics and get another Pediatrician somewhere else period.We had a terrible experience here with Dr Cindy Harris. She is incompetent to care for children even with mild conditions. Go somewhere else that actually cares.

Galen has pretended to care for my health and well being for over 10 yrs. More than that my daughter has been with her pediatrician her entire life and due to me challenging disrespect that has happened only on a few occasions you completely disregard my family’s healthcare and wellbeing. Never was I disrespectful to staff however I only asked to be treated with respect and I did so in a professional manner. I’m highly disappointed in Galen and by your recent actions you let me know the my family’s health indeed never mattered to you at all. Wherever I go I will not tolerate disrespect regardless. I will always speak up in an intelligent manner and as professionals everyone should be able to work in continuing to provide the best care remembering your why I’m actually there in the first place.Healthcare

How much fun can you have at a colonoscopy and endoscopy clinic?

I just called to get my baby’s well visit rescheduled and got pushed out a month. They didn’t have any time available... clearly they don’t want to keep their patients. I’ve had to also wait an hour before even be called to the room. This is horrible.

Dr. Height is just wonderful....careful listener, calming, intuitive, unhurried, helpful, kind, attentive....SO responsive. I could not be more pleased.

Wonderful, caring, gentle, and loving staff. Can take care of anyone of any age.

Wonderful doctors. My children love them.

We love Dr. Spraggins and her staff.

Things are different with the construction, but still timely.

Everytime we come here my wife and I wait in the lobby for over an hour while people get called around us.
