I attended Valor K9 Academys Shadow Program in Boise, Idaho and had an amazing experience! It was worth every penny! Trainer Amy and her team are very thorough in their planning and not a second is wasted. The schedule and teaching style is so well thought out and caters to every style of learning. The shadow program was an amazing opportunity to see what the life of a dog trainer is like while learning so many skills for myself. I would highly recommend them!

My puppy just finished the four week board and train program with Brenley Merritt. I am so pleased with the results that I plan to enroll her in the advanced board and train program again with Brenley. Just like a child in daycare, I was hesitant to leave her with someone I didn’t know. However, Brenley took excellent care of her and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I have 2 rottie pups (from same litter). Was worried about training both at the same time. I had heard good things about Valor K9 so decided to check it out. Dana the head trainer was great at answering questions and even did a few eval to see which should go 1st and for how long etc. Kelsi is the trainer they did their board and train with - 3 wks for 1 and 2 wks for the other. Kelsi did a great job of helping me lay the foundation to get the started right. I was on the right track by myself but they really helped me improve which really helped my pups. Training is a life long endeavor especially for rottweilers. Ive had numerous compliments already and theyre just 5 months. Its spendy but on par with others and very good quality. The follow up lessons are really helpful. And Kelsi is always great about answering my questions even when not in lessons. They have a stay and play w add on training coming up next month while Im out of town and I expect it will be just as good.

Dana worked with our 4 year old GSD Kara. Kara is a rescue that has a history of fighting with other dogs in our home as well as prior homes to the point where she had to be kept separate. For our training, we did a combination of a custom board and stay as well as private lessons. Kara has made tremendous strides working with Dana. More importantly, as a result of the ground work that Dana laid not just with Kara but myself I am confident that she will continue to progress and I have a clear direction on how to continue to work with her. I would not hesitate to recommend Valor K-9, and more specifically Dana, to anyone looking for assistance with obedience training or behavior medication.

Our 3-year-old GSD went to Dana for a board and train program to work on impulse control and leash reactivity. Dana was (and is) terrific! It was immediately apparent during our first phone consultation that Dana could help us but more importantly, she wanted to help us. Dana was genuine, sincere, and respectful throughout the whole process. She ensured she understood our goals and was straight forward on how we would get there. Living out of town, we initially were a little hesitant about doing a board and train program. We were concerned about how Sables obedience would transition back into our life since we wouldn’t be directly involved in the day to day training process. However, after speaking with Dana, and learning more about her training philosophy, we were confident Sable would be in great hands and that we would be equipped with the support necessary to succeed. Dana is fantastic at explaining what we are going to do and then following it with the rationale of why we are doing it that way. Dana was flexible with us as we drove to Chattanooga and maintained communication with us through the whole B&T process. After picking up Sable, the difference in her behavior was evident. She is the same fun-loving dog, but her obedience is worlds better. Dana has been very invested as we transition Sable back home, checking in with us and helping us along the way. We are inexplicably grateful to have her support to ensure we continue on the right path now that we have Sable back home. Our experience with Valor K9 and Dana was wonderful!

Dana is fantastic! She worked with us and our 4 year old rescue GSD/Husky. I was a little nervous about adopting a full grown rescue dog but Dana helped us through every step of the way and brought Floria out of her shell. Every lesson was catered to what we wanted to focus on and little quirks we would notice in between lessons. She is great at explaining behavior from a dogs perspective and training the humans to better communicate with your pet and give you and your pet the confidence you both need. We love Dana!

About a year after losing our 17 year old Yorkie (Emma), we thought we were ready. So we brought Rue into our home. Rue is a Golden Doodle and we are so happy to have her in our family. Emma was 9 months old when we got her so we had never experienced an untrained puppy. Rue is smart, good tempered, loving and a very good family pet. Although she was learning and maturing, we felt it would be good for both Rue and us if she was professionally trained so our lives would be most enjoyable. We were already receiving private lessons with Dana and were very pleased. So, we started giving serious consideration to Puppy Board and Train. We struggled with sending Rue off for three weeks. We questioned whether the results would be worth it. But, we also knew we were not trainers and we wanted what was best for Rue. Well Rue is back and we could not be happier. Meg addressed all the areas of concern we identified - jumping at visitors, barking at feeding time, biting and nipping at clothing and the often normal behavior of a puppy of not listening and not behaving. We didnt have any major concerns with Rue - we just wanted a more well-behaved puppy. Well what we received back exceeded our expectations. We were not expecting such a remarkable change in Rue but it happened. The past days have been wonderful and we could not be more thankful that we sent Rue to Valor K9 Academy. Not only does Rue have more disciplined behaviors, but her disposition is that of a maturer puppy. We know our role in continuing and reinforcing Rues training is very important. But we also know we could have never gotten Rue here on our own and without this level of training. We knew Rue would be in good hands. Thank you Meg! We highly recommend Valor K9 Academy.

We started lessons with Dana at Valor K9 Chattanooga when our puppy was 10 weeks old. 5 weeks later she already knows some obedience commands and is getting a head start on manners and redirecting her puppy energy. Dana explains everything clearly and always asks us what is most important to us for each lesson so that we can learn how to improve our daily communication with our puppy. We know that our puppy is being setup for success thanks to Dana and Valor K9 Chattanooga.

I can honestly say I have nothing, but great praise to lead trainer Dana for all shes done with training my dog. From the, Puppy Head Start Program, to the virtual training lesson I did to help progress my dogs obedience. Definitely well worth the money and Ill absolutely would do it again within a blink of an eye with my next dog. Very appreciative and thankful.

We were referred to Valor K9 Academy by our vet to help work with our reactive boston terrier, Norman. Dana was absolutely wonderful!! After private lessons, Norman is like a whole new dog! The lessons each week came with small goals that added up to big changes. If youre looking for guidance with your dogs training, I cant recommend Valor K9 and Dana highly enough!

Valor K9 did an amazing job with our dog Wally. He knew some basic commands already (sit, stay) but there were a few habits he had around barking at dogs on TV and tugging on his leash that were hard to break.Meg (our trainer) asked us to create a wish list of things wed like her to work on with him as a part of their Good Dog board and train program. She surpassed our expectations and took care of what was on our list. She even trained him to use the treadmill and walk himself! Who knew?!Its still early since weve gotten him back home but we like the progress weve seen so far and would recommend Valor K9 Academy to anyone looking for a trainer!

Meg did such a great job with our German Shepherd puppy, Roxy. We wanted to establish a foundation for Roxy that would set us up to thrive, so we got in touch with Meg. The first two weeks of her program set us all up for success. My wife and I could not believe the progress Roxy had made. She is young, but she left knowing sit, down, place, wait, and more. The next half of the program solidified the lessons she had already learned. Now, after four weeks, Roxy is doing so well. She’s still a puppy, but we’re having a much easier time than we did with our first dog. We couldn’t be more thankful for what Meg did with Roxy. It is so important to have that foundation, and I wasn’t confident that I could do it. But Meg did. Thanks Meg and Valor!

We worked with Trainer Dana for puppy kindergarten and basic obedience and we loved every second of it! There are so many tiny things that we didnt think about before training our dog and now we are well on the way to a well behaved, well adjusted dog! Dana has so much knowledge and shares it all in an easy to understand way. The learning progresses logically and she customizes the learning in private lessons to what you and your dog need. I would HIGHLY recommend Valor K9 Academy for dog training for any level.

I can’t say enough about how excellent our experience with Dana has been. We have a 75lb 8-month-old pit bull named Hammer. We’ve had him since he was a small puppy and we love him. He was always a little rambunctious but it got harder to handle, as he got bigger. Being that we have a toddler and live in a gated subdivision with young families, we were facing the heart-breaking decision that we might have to rehome him. We decided to give professional training a chance before taking what would be a very difficult step for all of us.Dana was extremely professional, experienced, and knowledgeable. She actually exceeded our expectations. She helped transform our energetic, uncontrollable gigantic puppy into an obedient and contributing member of our family. Our neighbors have even commented on how calm and obedient he is now and how they feel totally safe having their children around him. We are so amazed with the results, we plan to continue our training with Dana and have Hammer become an official children’s hospital therapy dog. Thank you Dana for how much you care and invest into your clients and for giving us the tools we needed to help us keep Hammer as part of our family! This was one of the best decisions and investments we have made.

My husband and I brought our new Golden Retriever puppy to the group classes with Dana for 8 weeks. It is amazing how much Dana was able to teach our dog in that time span. Our dog Minnie learned manners around people and dogs. Our hardest struggle was walking on the leash but now our Minnie trots beside me on mile runs. We asked for the most energetic puppy in our litter and we got her! But now she is also well mannered and responds to commands!

Dana is AMAZING! When we got Wishbone at 9 weeks she was cute but fiesty! After about a month of jumping and biting we knew we needed help. After researching trainers we chose Dana and Valor K9 because of all the positive reviews. After a lot of bites, scratches and 1 tetanus shot we decided to give it a try and enrolled her in Puppy Head Start. It was a game changer! When she came back after 4 weeks she was a different dog! Totally not jumping and biting and pulling on the leash! I needed this especially for my hip issues. We added 4 personal training sessions and they helped reenforce what she already learned. This was well worth the money and we will definitely use Dana again for further training!

There are no words to adequately express how amazing Dana has been as our trainer. Not only can she train the dogs but she can train their owners as well. Prior to finding her, Samson, my goldendoodle, had 4 trainers near our home. Two were at training facilities and 2 others came to our home. None of them could adequately train him. He was so difficult as a puppy that I would go in another room, shut the door and cry in frustration. Ramsey, my labradoodle, came long when Samson was 6 months. They destroyed multiple pieces of furniture, walls and sheetrock, door casings and my newly installed artificial grass. In June 2019, a friend at church mentioned Dana. I called immediately to schedule Samson and Ramsey for the 3 week Board and Train. Dana was so booked that we had to wait 3 months. During that time, she taught me how to crate train them which prevented any more destruction to my home. While they were with Dana, she kept me updated with texts, emails and photos. The boys were well taken care of and Dana did incredible work with them. Samson no longer counter surfs and I dont have to keep my kitchen trash can locked up any longer. Walks are actually enjoyable because they heel so well. Dana has changed my quality of life. The price was well worth it. Now I have well behaved, obedient dogs that I get to enjoy for a long time. I cannot thank you enough, Dana! You have truly changed our lives!Wendy Prince, Samson and Ramsey

Words cannot express how grateful we are for Valor K9 in Chattanooga, TN! When we wanted to get a Christmas puppy for our 4 children, we watched so many YouTube videos for the perfect breed. We saw how many awesome things a Belgian Malinois can do - military work, protective work, aggressive, stamina, high energy, smart and high recharge rate all entered the picture in for our decision. And then we bought the Belgian Malinois with 4 kids to be a house pet. Little did we know as the puppy grew over time, our household drastically changed. Anything that moved got attacked including ripping 4 Patagoina jackets (that were worn by 4 different children) Thank you Patagonia for life time clothing warranties!!! We thought we bought a breed like a sweet golden doodle or lab but now reviewing the history of our Youtube videos... it was right there in plain sight. This breed will never be a golden doodle or lab and greet strangers with licks and a wagging tail. This breed needs to know boundaries, will chew through a wall/kennel/kelvar bed if bored, they need a job to do and will improvise to please their owners. So with a 9 month old puppy, wife home schooling 4 children and a puppy that barked at anything that moved, counter surfed at the sight or smell of food, scratching paint off newly painted doors, eating new shoes, bowing up with hackles raised at other dogs, leash pulling so only an adult over 200 lbs could walk her and saving the sanity of my wife we decided to take her to Dana at Valor K9 specifically because not only was she a trainer but she owns a Malinois as well. We dropped off an immature and out of control puppy and 3 weeks later Dana gave back a mature well behaved dog that now fits into our family! Words cannot express how grateful we are for Dana’s amazing skill in training Bally Ho. She handed us back a mature dog that wants to please but yet we can leave the house on her “place” and not worry about her eating through our couch and/or walls of the house. Dana is beyond amazing and we highly recommend that if you are pulling your hair out with your canine, what you drop off before training will 100% not be the same as what you receive from her after training. We are so blessed to have met her, allowed her to train our dog and more importantly the guidance, support and caring she provides to her clients. Dana is truly one of a kind with a special gift and if you want to see the best qualities that a now 10 month old Belgian Malinois can have, hit us up for a doggy play date. Thank you Valor K9 and Dana for truly changing the dynamics of our new life with an amazing Belgian Malinois!

We originally trained with Amy 5 years ago to help with major behavior and reactivity issues which fixed/managed most of his issues for years. He has gradually gotten worse again with time due to us not providing the proper structure. When he had a reactivity incident with my dad we decided we needed help again.Things improved greatly after just our first lesson since Dana showed us how to establish boundaries and give him structure. We learned that a lot of his problems were coming from him thinking he had to be in charge and handle things himself. I didn’t even realize how bad he had gotten at just listening to commands until Dana got him to respect us again. We just finished our 8th private lesson where we brought Koda around the Nooga paws shopping center and in the store. I would never have brought him in a store before training and usually tried to avoid anywhere where I could run into people or dogs. I’m so glad I can feel confident bringing him out on my own again! Even our vet was shocked at how well he did when I brought him by myself. Usually my husband would have to take him since he would act like a monster and at this past appointment he just stayed in his down!I highly recommend Valor K9 Academy and will use them for future training needs!
