I have been going to this practice for years and have never had a bad experience. Stormy is very welcoming and always greets you with a smile. Ive been to doctors offices with poor receptionists that made you feel like you were a burden on them for signing in. This office is the opposite. Even when they are about to close they still treat you with a smile and respect. Thanks guys.

I have been using Dr. Philippose and Dr. Durante for almost 2 years and have never had a bad experience. They are very thorough and detailed with everything. My husband went in for a routine colonoscopy and found out he has colon cancer. Dr. Philippose was very thorough in explaining everything. Showed us all the lab results and steps to come in the future. Highly recommend for everyone.

I genuinely don’t understand the poor reviews. He has been wonderful and thorough and has spoken with me about things I need to do to work on my symptoms/issues so I won’t hsve to take medication. He was kind during my upper GI. Yes, he types things in to a computer - that’s how doctors take notes these days instead of writing up a bunch of paperwork thus causing appointments to run behind. He was prompt, thorough, friendly, and his office staff was great. He explained the results of my scan quite thoroughly, told me what I needed to change, and ordered the necessary tests to determine what’s causing my problem. He’s a great doctor and I highly recommend him.

I was really impressed by his knowledge of my symptoms. Ive had digestive issues for years and finally got relief with his help. Also his staff was helpful explaining the whole process to me. Morning appointments are faster.

The receptionist, Stormy, is literally one of the rudest human beings I’ve ever encountered. She made me feel unwelcome and even more uncomfortable about being there in the first place. If you have to use Dr. Phillipose, do not deal with her. Insist on speaking with someone else as her level of professionalism is nonexistent.

I wish I could give him no stars. The whole experience was horrible except for his office staff. They deserve 5 stars. He is the worst doctor Ive ever seen. I went to him for a stomach problem and he made a diagnosis by saying that I am overweight and have tattoos. How does that affect the lining of my stomach? Also my labs and scans from the hospital werent good enough for him. He ran three separate blood panels and wanted to schedule another $500+ scan. I am going to another doctor. I will not pay him a penny for a botched diagnosis. I wouldnt go here even if there werent other options. Id rather be in pain.

Always late to his appointments. You tell them a medication that you cant take and he keepsPrescribing that medication. You tell him that insurance stopped paying for the medication It doesnt bother him at all. All there is 1 star to 5 star so I have to give him 1 star.

I wish I could give him NO stars because he is so not worth one.Don’t wast your time and money for this man. I guess I should just start at the beginning after getting a list of my allergies before they done anything else. He was rude hard to understand and dismissive of my wife’s and my concerns even “sushed” us a couple of times. He needs to go back to typing class for one if he going to type every detail of the appointment. Then get this HE WROTE ME A PRESCRIPTION THAT I WAS ALLERGIC TO and he had the list in his hand and when we called him on that he called in ANOTHER ONE ON MY ALLERGY LIST. I just threw it aside and I planned to discuss it with him on my follow up procedures appointment.I have gastro pareses and I warned him I would not be able to drink laxitive as prep and he said that there was an option but I would have to pay for and I said ok, but it still got overlooked I went ahead after asking again if there was any other way because of my gastric fullness causing me to vomit and she said no. I gave up and agreed to buy miralax and Gatorade and I didn’t even get a whole dose until I vomited every bit back up. Twice. So I called the office and they wanted to take my anti nausea meds and how could I have while throwing up. She spoke to the doctor after telling me my only other option was to be admitted to the hospital and getting forced enemias. I just told her that I would have to pay for the high cost prep or I could not do that. Less than 30 minutes later Dr Philipose himself called back and refused to listen to me and seemed to think he was going to force me to take the mirilax, which is what broke my monkeys back...a doctor trying to make you do something that is causing you sickness and in pain. I was done after that.Don’t waste your time on this man

**Melody Hood response**--You must have skimmed everyones messages without understanding; it wasnt the typing information that was the problem, but he did so while completely ignoring the patient and rushed the visit without any interaction. We understand notes taken on a computer, but if he chooses to do so at least learn to type better than with two fingers. Most of all, me personally and multiple others as well were ignored completely while he typed away for a whole 4 minutes not acknowledging anything we said during....then gets up and leaves without even making eye contact once and thats the end!Maybe views of good doctor have changed, but my experience they are beyond overpaid; at least act to examine you to try and figure out what your problem is, not run a business rolling out as many as possible like cattle for max profit. Seeing someone with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, etc he not at least come over and feel around on their abdomen? He very briefly also told me what to do to work on my symptoms, but it was like a skipping CD response because it had nothing to do with what I had just told him. I find it disrespectful to tell me what I feel or experience like Im too stupid to know where I hurt. As another described, pushing meds on me I clearly said I cannot take as I have tried them already and they only made my symptoms worse (besides what does an SSRI antidepressant have to do with digestive issues and chronic abdominal pain?) and Im still handed a prescription for an SSRI as I leave by the nurse?? Did he listen at all??I asked if possibly my serotonin levels may be a bit high sometimes due to the fact that an SSRI increases cramps, pain, constipation, and most of all magnifies my already existing insomnia.....all signs of high serotonin. Not only did symptoms get worse, but some became very extreme....serotonin toxicity can be fatal. It removes becoming sleepy by not triggering melatonin release, can shift mood, since it has a large role in regulation of motility cramping motion of small intestine (where it is synthesized from amino acid tryptophan), and rarely cause acidic blood, organ damage, and death. I was told serotonin has nothing to do with your intestines by this GI specialist. Giving meds u dont understand, ESPECIALLY neurotransmitter altering drugs when not needed, is DANGEROUS. A specialist should know these well, not guess and try this approach with such drugs (yet opiates are labeled as evil......go figure).Im glad your experience was pleasant, but remember everyones visit is quite different. If you dont fit the cookie mold diagnosis, he looses interest quickly to move to the next tests/next person. More of a money circle to me rather than dr who cares*ORIGINAL REVIEW:Same money pinching process most GI specialists run to, colonoscopy. They gave me the wrong date, so I drank the stuff and spent the night in the bathroom just to get down there the next morning to be sent back home to do it again the next week. He said it looked normal, and that was that. Nothing else was offered or tried to diagnose my problems so I never went back.Thats just the beginning....Ive had gut problems for many years, which are getting worse. Constant pain, severe long lasting cramps, frequent vomiting, etc...Im no doctor, but I am a chemical engineer with a secondary in biochemistry so I do know some about drugs and the body. I was argued against on several points, what I thought to be not much higher than common knowledge to a GI specialist, how it was impossible and no way could be causing my problems when I know my own body, and also know it most certainly could possibly be a contributing factor.I was insulted by his attitude and unwillingness to listen, seeing me propose my own questionable areas of possible causes based on years of dealing with this and researching everything I could find to read on the topic, made him suggest it could just be in my head maybe from stress or me wanting attention. What do I know, Im just a biochemist right???

Very incompetent office associates! Did not contact insurance company until the day before scheduled colonoscopy. Test got cancelled because waiting on insurance preapproval after doing without diabetic medication, being on liquid diet and taking laxatives! Doctor is always on computer and maybe says 2 words to the patient. Always typing and never interacts. Do Not go to this physician!
