I attended the Moving Meditation Workshop at Triple Gem with Bhante Sathi and Bhante Kovida. It was an excellent workshop including sitting meditation with hand movements, walking meditation, and a metta meditation (loving kindness). The highlight was when our group went outside to the nearby park so we could practice Qi Gong meditation (lots of moving!)I find the monks to be personable, focused, and very helpful. They also have a great sense of humor and lots of joy.

Website needs updating. Calendar says group meditation on Sunday mornings at 9am all month for the month of August. Showed up today and the place looks like it had been looted and a closed sign on the back door. Nobody home. I went back to the website to check and see if I mis-read something and just found a big banner asking for money! And not just money but double what you would give otherwise. Yikes! Not the first time I’ve been disappointed by this group. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

This place truly is a gem! Everyone is warm and inviting, the sense of community is very special here and the meditation and discussion time is absolutely enlightening and WONDERFUL! Learning to live in peace, with joy and awareness takes practice and this is a great place to learn those and many other positive life skills. So glad to have found Triple Gem of the North!

Great place, its nice to have such a beneficial mindfulness center in the area. Meditation instruction and guidance is secular for all faiths and backgrounds; you can feel the peace from the monks, which allows participants to relax and ease into the practice of meditation with all the benefits of peace & calm for body and mind. The opportunity to have tea with the monks afterward with light conversation is a nice addition. This allows participants to get to know the teachers better and ask more personalized questions about the practice.Offerings are free will, which makes them available to people of all means. Naturally, donations are appreciated as there are bills to pay.Ive been practicing meditation and studying Buddhist teachings for over ten years and find this center to be just the thing for beginners and those experienced in meditation and/or Buddhist instruction . There is no need to have an interest in Buddhism to benefit from the meditation guidance; if one is interested in Buddhist teachings, that is offered separatelyGreat place with great teachers. Walk in, pull up a cushion (or chair), and take a seat.

I have been going to the Mindfulness Center in Chaska for a year now and I am so glad I started going! It took me a while to bring up the courage to walk in and join a meditation session, now I am not sure why :)! Bhante is a wonderful teacher and the members are all so welcoming and friendly, I felt right at home. And it is still my peaceful place, where I come to meditate, learn and share my everyday lessons, struggles and happy moments. Meditation has helped me tremendously with being able to pause more and not losing myself in anger or anxiety life brings. Great place, great teachers and great community!

Ive been practicing Metta (loving kindness) meditation every Sunday for two years at this center. I was new to this world before I made a stop here. A good reminder time for me to live in the present. Just like my mandatory gym-visit for physical workout, it is my mental work-out. It keeps me grounded, cultivates friendliness towards myself and others. Bhante Sathi is an excellent teacher. I have become very fond of community here as well. Highly recommend to all who want to practice mindfulness within a friendly community.

We are greatly blessed to have the Chaska Mindfulness Center and the Meta Retreat Center in Janesville, where we can find retreat from the stress, anxiety, fear and greed challenging us in our lives . These oases of peace and tranquility are operated by buddhist monks who are sustained by those of us who have found the treasure of their wisdom, generosity and loving kindness grounded in the traditions of the Buddha. I have studied and practiced mindfulness for over 20 years. It has profoundly changed my life and my relationships. The weekly meditation classes, retreats, and mindfulness classes sustain my spiritual well being as i seek to live with compassion and loving kindness for all, without judgement or expectations and acceptance of how I create all my own suffering.I am saddened when I see the projections and suffering of some of the negative reviews -- saddened with the writers expectations and projections from their suffering; and saddened for the potential hurt it might bring to others who might not seek their own experience of healing at the centers.I have spent many hours in mediation, retreats and classes over the past 19 years in the Mindfulness and Metta centers; I have come to experience deeply the monks generosity, compassion and wisdom. These servants dedicate their lives to helping us live more peacefully. What an incredible gift here in Minnesota.

I have been a meditator for a long time. I taught myself mostly through books. Meditating has in fact changed my life for the better in so many ways. One of the four Noble truths - Dukkha, is suffering in life, and we all experience it. But when I first read about Dukkha I thought it was a very negative way of looking at life and told myself I don’t want to look at life like that. So, years later I read again about the Four Noble Truths and realized that life is indeed full of challenges, suffering, Dukkha. And it occurred to me how my meditation practice helped me through it all. But as I felt I am still quite the novice meditater, and wanted to dig in deeper and learn more, but where to go for this? Then I found the Triple Gem Center in Chaska and the Metta Meditation Center in Janesville, with, can you believe it? Real authentic Monks!!! Now who could possibly be more capable of teaching meditation!? But still, I approached carefully and tested the waters with one toe at a time, and am happy to say I am happy to meditate and learn here. It is my chosen place to learn.Truly I wish everyone would learn to meditate, at least a little bit, because it would surely make the world a calmer, more peaceful and happier place, in oh so many ways! This is a good place to learn and to support your practice. :)

Organization is a scam. Monk operates in self-interest only. Greed, greed, greed is the mantra! Monks show more interest in obtaining latest smartphone than in Buddhist teachings. Only interested in American money and followers who donate large amounts to this supposed charity. Head monk shows intolerance toward other Buddhists & Buddhist sects. Hypocritical.

There are very negative reviews of Triple Gem you can find here. Some of them are centered on purity, or the lack of it, that reviewers are looking for at Triple Gem. One person indicated he expected to see the monks walking about town with a begging bowl in hand. Or, there are complaints that the monks have a car or cell phones. Id ask people to think about the goal of an organization like Triple Gem and whats needed to make those goals a reality. Triple Gem provides a place for people to gather and meditate. It offers an opportunity to get good teaching on the practice of Vipassana and lovingkindness from a monk (bhante) with years of experience and learning. As to making these goals happen, can you imagine trying to organize and respond to people without a cell phone in todays world? As for monks having access to a car, Ive seen a Toyota Corolla. It appears to be in good condition and I think most would say its a practical choice. Leave the criticism behind and stop by. Sit down on the cushion and observe your breath. Then you can judge from your own experience. Thanks for your time.

The monks practice a spiritual financial policy they call dana. They give away their teachings for free, and they accept free will donations. I dont see anything greedy about it. At the same time they are trying to build up local resources to further their work. They bought a building in Chaska and they are trying to buy a retreat center near Jaynesville. I am among many who donate to Triple Gem because I believe in the good of their work.

So many disillusioned folks who claim this non-profit monk preaches solely on living a simple life. For those in the know for years, TGN professes more than just a need for funds to further Buddhist causes. Bhante Sathi judges gifts given to him as acceptable or unacceptable. Is this the work of a Buddhist? He ridicules other Buddhist monks during conferences. Is this the work of a Buddhist? If you see nothing greedy about this organization then you see nothing.

I started coming around the Buddhist Center and Triple Gem of the North a few years ago. Everything Ive experienced by being part of this group has been ultimately beneficial. I participated in a 4 day silent meditation retreat in the summer of 2013. To this day, it was the hardest thing Ive ever attempted to do. Yet, at the same time ive grown indefinitely because of the teachings of the Dhamma . Thank you Bhante for helping me with my journey.

Triple Gem is sadly, not real Buddhism. Monks are egoist & greedy. Of course you dont see this by sitting in a meditation setting occasionally or weekly, see the smiles & the BASKETS out for dana & the whining about yet ANOTHER financial responsibility. Just purchased in Chaska, the new center should be top priority, now the egoist dream of Sathi to brag he is founder/leader of yet another center purchase, the Janesville property, is outlandish. True Buddhist monks live in a monastery, live with their begging bowls & humility. This is hardly the case here. Newest cell phones, Board purchased cars, all the amenities of the Good Life in America! Malaysian Buddhist monks say that the Sri Lankan monks are the greediest, most corrupt. I have no evidence to disagree on that. There are many worthy charities in the world, please consider where your money truly goes when researching a charity. This is a poor example of charity.
