Wonderful Dermatology practice to go to. Knowledgeable doctors and so nice. Very clean environment. They discuss everything with you. If need be I will go again. Its worth it.

I’ve been using Charlottesville Dermatology since 2008 and they’ve always been great. Dr Elder especially.

I’ve had melanoma a few times now, and have been to a couple of different doctors. I thought my previous doctors were doing a good job, until I had an exam by Dr. Elder.The scope of my exam by Dr. Elder versus my previous doctors was dramatic. Her exam was incredibly thorough and meticulous. Her expertise is top notch. Also, the patient education I received was vastly beyond anything I had previously. I highly recommend everyone do their homework to vet a doctor who goes above and beyond. This is my dermatologist for life!

Made a follow up appointment to have moles removed from my face. The PA I was assigned does not ever do this procedure. They expect me to pay for an office visit, and then come back and PAY AGAIN for another office visit to get the work done. Will take 6+ hours to send a prescription to the pharmacy, will lie to the patient that it has been sent when it has not, and will change their story about what their procedures are are it suits them. Inconsistent, manipulative, and 100% WILL try to rip off cash customers by forcing them to come in and pay for 3 office visits in order to get 1 procedure. Will hang up on patients repeatedly, and consistently refuse to give patients their own records. 0 stars. Legitimately the worst medical provider experience of my entire life, and I’ve had multiple major surgeries.

Loved video visit with K. Loose, PA. She listened and heard my concerns and needs. Will refer my family and friends. They are private and not associated with a hospital.

Speed of service and exam was nice and much different experience this year than two years ago I would definitely recommend them

Staff are very personable and professional. Thorough exams are provided, and all questions were answered to my satisfaction. Staff goes above and beyond ensuring excellent care to the point of attention to small non-medical issues like providing me with a gown to use as a wrap to ward off being chilly from the air conditioning. I have been using this practice for years with never a complaint. I highly recommend their services, and thank them for my care.

Friendly, trusting staff! Recommended by a friend who said they were able to suggest more affordable skin care options for her facial acne and redness. They quickly helped me identify some itchy, dry skin issues and were reassuring when offering pregnancy-safe prescriptions.

When arriving at the front desk to check-in, I was asked personal medical information in front of other patients. Once I sat down, I heard the same question asked of the patient behind me and now I know some of her personal medical information. HIPPA much?

The expertise and professionalism of Dr. Elder and her staff is beyond exceptional! I live in Lynchburg and cant believe how much the knowledge and overall expertise and care of Dr. Elder exceeds what I thought I had in Lynchburg! I will drive an hour and a half to get this exceptional care from now on!

The office was efficient and had me in and out withminimal exposure. I have not been in a dermatology office for a long time and are all the exams so quick. I have been through slower car washes but hey if it’s done right i am all for it.

Really great dermatology location. Soothing environment, helpful staff and knowledgeable Providers. They’re working very hard during this pandemic to keep things clean and moving smoothly. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Spa services are perfect and professional and they have certified PA, NP, and MDs all providing both exceptional spa services and medical management to help with skin disorders.

They are professional and to the point. They dont take very long in explaining things to you. They did not instill much confidence in me about their procedures. The staff could be better about following up with the patients concerns and questions.

We absolutely love Drs Soukalis and Elder. They are thorough and informative, and seek to teach you instead of just treating symptoms.

While the office has an overall good score, there are certainly some concerning reviews. I decided to take a chance and make an appointment. I gave my information over the phone, and even emailed my insurance info (I was given a personal email address - not any sort of business email- which was sketchy and was a red flag I should have paid more attention to). After waiting 4 weeks for my appointment I was called the day before to let me know that they do not in fact accept my insurance. The receptionist was new, sorryaboutthaaaaat. Want to pay out of pocket? I am livid. I will now wait for 2 months for an appointment at another dermatologist. Sure hope nothings cancerous! Thanks Doctor!*Update: Just received a no show charge in the mail! Im actually laughing out loud right now. This place is unreal.

My daughter who is 5 years old, had an appointment there today. I have to say, this was the best experience I’ve had in a long time. The staff was very kind to her and very knowledgeable. Very honest as well about my daughter situation. Thank you so much for the great experience.

Due to Covid I was nervous to have an in person appointment but it was necessary for the procedure. I was pleasantly surprised with how thoughtful and careful everyone was being.Some signage to discourage multiple people in the elevator would have been good but that was the only negative.

Even with the total disruption of normal life as we know it, the Doctors & nursing staff & office managers are still as friendly and professional as ever.

I went in for a minor procedure, every one was extremely friendly and efficient. I did not feel hurried and was seen right away. My brother has had 4 skin cancers excised and treated, he also has been very impressed with there professionalism and vigilance. Dermatology can be looked at as a minor inconvenience, but unless your dermatologist knows what they are doing, skin cancer can kill you. I would highly recommend the group!

They are really informative. I especially like Katherine Loose. Very friendly, and understanding. The only negative thing is that sometimes the wait is 20+ minutes after your appointment time. Understandable if the prior patient needs that time.

Honestly the rudest staff I have ever encountered. Whoever answers the phone should be fired.

Called to ensure that my NP from Charlottesville family medicine had scheduled my referral as a yearly wellness check covered by my insurance and to reschedule to the appropriate time because she couldnt be bothered to ask before she filled out my referral. The receptionist warned me rather obtusely that if I wanted my acne treated as was noted by the referral Id still have to pay. I told her that I didnt plan on getting it treated at that visit, but that if I had skin cancer I would actually prefer to be treated rather than let it ride. She hung up on me before I could even ask her to reschedule to a time when Im not at work. I dont know whether it is that they cannot deal with the volume of the cases that they see there or that they could not take the time to work through the complexity of figuring out how to not bill me in a predatory manner, but my experiences with the staff have left me feeling uncared for. There is another dermatology clinic off Stony Point at the bottom of Pantops FYI

There is simply no better dermatology practice in the state. From your first experience with the receptionist, who is extremely friendly and welcoming, to the very brief wait (I arrived about 10 minutes early and even so was taken within 5 minutes) to the visit and examination with the doctor (Dr. Magee defines excellence, competence, knowledge, and geniality) to the rapid and, again, friendly check-out at the appointments conclusion, all of it - everything about the practice - is professionally and beautifully run.

Hello! Overall I had a good medical experience with Cville Dermatology. I saw Dr Magee. I let the nurse know before the doctor came in that my pronouns were they/them, and the nurse seemed understanding and thanked me for letting them know. However when Dr Magee came in, she used the pronouns “she/her” and never once used “they/them.” I didn’t remind Dr Magee of my pronouns while she was in the exam room, because I felt unsure of whether the nurse just failed to relay my pronouns to Dr Magee, if Dr Magee forgot my pronouns, or if she was purposefully misgendering me. I will come back to Cville Dermatology if I ever have another concern, and I will let my doctor know my pronouns again, but I am hoping to not be misgendered and would find a new dermatologist who understands the importance of correct pronouns if I feel I am being misgendered on purpose. I am hoping it was just an accident on Dr Magee (or the nurses!!) part which I understand and am patient with folks who are new to they/them pronouns, but I would appreciate more attention to using preferred pronouns/respecting gender identity within the office. I feel more comfortable and listened to when my medical professionals attempt to know me as a person beyond just my medical symptoms. Thanks!

I have been going to Charlottesville Dermatology for many years. Dr. Elder is knowledgeable and so easy to share concerns with. She’s helped me graciously navigate this thing called aging. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. I totally trust her advice and expertise.

I’ve been happy with my experience. Dr. Sukala is friendly, professional, and really seems to be on top of her game. I felt confident in her findings. I never felt rushed. I’ve seen her twice, and plan to maintain a relationship with the organization.

Dr Soukoulis was very caring and concerned with treating several skin issue I was experiencing, She provided excellent advice and Rx for curing my ailments. I was procrastinating making an appointment due to passed experiences elsewhere, but Dr Soukoulis treated me comfortably and professionally. Highly recommend. FIVE STARS

Great office staff. Great clinical staff. Very efficiently run practice with short wait time. Dr. Elder is quite literally the best doctor (of any kind) that I have seen. She has excellent bedside manner and spent the time to answer all of my questions. They now have a pediatric dermatologist on staff, Dr Soukoulis. I have already referred friends here who feel the same way. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas.

Finding the office itself was difficult- no signage.

Dr. Magee is very nice, took time to answer all my questions, recommended a skin care regime for my sun damaged skin that has been very effective. The office staff was efficient and friendly. I barely waited 3 min. to be seen and the waiting room was full. She has performed a skin biopsy and has frozen off some lesions for me - all done with a minimum of pain. I recommend her without reservation.

Got an appointment same week, in and out of my appointment quickly. Appreciated the staff and overall experience.

It has been about two years now. After going to several doctors, Dr. Magee diagnosed me with an unusual disease. Her treatment was a bit aggressive, (harsh drugs) for a year. She kept a very close eye on me for that year. I have no symptoms since and my body is back to normal. She sent me to all the proper doctors to rule out anything else. She was on spot with my diagnosis. I trust her entirely. I would recommend her.

Dr. Magee and her staff are highly qualified, outstanding, up-to-date practitioners all, and very willing to help and answer questions on everything from sun protection to skin cancer to rash treatment to wrinkles. I have received outstanding service from EVERYONE in the office, and have never had a difficult time scheduling appointments or receiving a prescription. I give this practice my highest recommendation.

This office is the most unprofessional doctors office I have ever visited. The staff is exceedingly unfriendly and, as someone else noted, the doctor has absolutely zero bedside manner. She spends very little time with her patients and seems only to be interested in making money. They also refuse to stand by the products that they sell.I would advise anyone looking for a dermatologist in the Charlottesville area to visit Signature Spa.

By far, the most incompetent group of people I have ever met. I took my daughter to Charlottesville Dermatology and had a horrible experience. I have read all the negative reviews and they are all on point. They are closed on days they should be open and they placed me on hold for an unacceptable length of time and then dropped my call. If they cant handle the phone system, how can they be trusted to handle my daughters skin? Right now, its 11:50am and no answer....early lunch? All I need now is for them to contact our pharmacy to submit a prescription and somehow this is proving to be a monumental feat. In general, I usually consider these reviews as a guideline and form my own opinion and in this case, these negative reviews are very accurate. Buyer beware. Needless to say, we will find another dermatologist.

The practice has a new Physicians Assistant who is extremely well-versed in skin care, including acne and aging. I would highly recommend her.

I am extremely disappointed with this doctor. Her practice is certainly very unethical! I paid her $600 for different tests just to find out that my minor skin rush wasnt curable. She prescribed me a steroid cream to treat the skin rush. When I ran out of the cream and called her to ask for a refill, she told me that I have to make another appointment and go through all the test to get the refill. When I asked her what is the point of it since the skin rush wasnt not curable anyway, she told me that she couldnt prescribe the refill without another appointment. I would never advise anyone to see Dr. Magee! All she is interested in making as much money out of you as possible. I decided to see another doctor in the area and the other doctor told me that many patients of Dr. Magee are very unsatisfied with her!

Had first appointment today and really happy I selected this clinic. UVA was first choice but earliest appointment was over 60 days away. Received e-mail day before appointment with link to fill out all personal history/med list etc - so no need to arrive early and spend time with clipboard in lap trying to remember Rxs and medical history. Dr and staff here are excellent. Waited less that 10 mins for Dr to arrive. Dr explained every step - possible issues - suggested treatment options - insurance coverage - and down time. Exactly what I wanted - professional service in well managed clinic with very communicative staff. No hassle - no fee parking and excellent central location.

The front desk didn’t do any work and everyone ignored us standing there for 5 minutes. Then, they accepted us our doctor sent file for a appointment with any dermatologist that could take out insurance even though they do not. Very lazy!

Worst experience ever.... went for mole removal got talked into filler and she injected it into my artery. I am lucky Im not blind is what my family physician told me! When i called with concerns, when this could have been corrected without permanent disfigurement I was brushed off by manic and hyper staff. my face is dying, I look like a leper... the office staff would best be described as well a word that is not allowed so Ill just go with SO RUDE. Ill be wearing the results of THIER NEGLIGENCE on my face for the rest of my life. I posted pictures... look at them. I just found out from another dermatologist Im likely going to be disfigured for life... but Ill always appreciate the cold robotic and put out attitude of the staff after I paid 2k for this horror. THESE ARE LIARS, THERE ARE DRASTIC AND IRREVERSABLE CONSEQUENCES TO THIER INEPT ACTIONS AND THEY WONT MENTION A SINGLE THING!! I AM SCARRED FOREVER AND SO SO ANGRY! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I gave Anna Magee and the practice several tries out of convenience and a recommendation from someone. I found her bedside manor to be non-existent and I felt as if I were imposing on her by asking questions. In most cases my total facetime with her was less than 4 minutes, really. She was in and out very quickly and I was ushered to the counter for my payment. The last time I was in the office to have a cyst removed, she scolded the nurse assisting her for contaminating the surgical surface. Needless to say, I have found another dermatologist!

For those who have a deductible on their insurance, they do not know how much it would be and, apparently cannot tell you UNTIL your appointment is done!! I would be like a nervous nilly to go back here! No thank you!
