Wonderful experience from the moment I arrived, very pleasant office staff. Amy, the hygienist was so gentle she actually made the visit enjoyable. Dr Spano took care of some stains on my bonding that 2 other dentist said there was nothing they could do about without extensive dental work. He explained some options to me for some future work and I felt revived and my teeth looked better than they had in years. I wish I had gone there earlier. I left the office feeling great and like I found trusted partners at South Side Dental Center.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Spanos for nearly 8 years and have always been treated well by him and his most pleasant staff. He actually interned with Dr. David Devise many years ago as Dr. Devise was my previous dentist and he recommended Dr. Spano. The office is very efficiently run and wait times are minimal. On the few times Ive had a dental emergency (loose crown) I was accommodated in a very timely manner.

This is the most pleasant office ever! They are so informative, warm and welcoming and are all in a charming, quaint space. I first found this location in 2016, but at the time they didnt take my insurance. I switched providers and loved them so much that I came back in 2021! 10/10!

Went in with a cracked crown and they got me in right away which I really appreciated! Everyone was very pleasant, no problems and I will be back to get my permanent crown in 3 weeks!

Very efficient office and professional staff. Beautiful, clean, bright space with a gorgeous view of the mountains right from the chair. I particularly appreciated the lack of chit chat; nothing worse than trying to answer a question about your kids while someone has their hands in your mouth. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

My 101-year-old mom recently relocated to Charlottesville and needed her dentures to fit her better. Dr. Spano and his technician were good with her and did a good job on her dentures. I asked her what she thought about him when we left she said I thought he was great and did a good job.

South Side Dental Center saved my little girl today!!! What started as an appointment for routine cleaning turned into an emergency extraction due to unexpected tooth trauma on Wednesday. The one thing I wished, was to found this place before I started my Invisalign, to make sure I am getting the best care throughout the process. I really dislike going to the dentist, DREAD it! I have only been here once and I dont write reviews, just to be writing them, but deep down, I know I am in great care. I have been to multiple dentistry and lets say some thing are better left unsaid.This gal is just exhausted from her tinnitus and hearing (#hardofhearing🦻), however, JESSICA spoke so clearly and it wasnt a struggle to listen to what was being said. A lot of places doesnt accommodate to invisible illness or disabilities, but JESSICA definitely made my visit a pleasure, definitely a gem for sure. It just felt good for ONCE, not having to explains something, without bringing it to their attention.

For someone like myself who HATES dentists...to give 5 stars should say a lot. I avoided going to a dentist for probably 4 or 5 years because of bad experiences and dentist not really caring about peoples anxiety about procedures. I had a lot of work that had to be done. I did a sedation appointment and aside from the typical pain of something like that, as far as I can tell spano did great! I love his staff they are all so sweet and I like Spano also. He seems like he enjoys helping people with their teeth and I like his sense of humor. Cant wait for the healing process to be over so I can finally remember what my mouth felt before all of that pain from not going to a dentist. Moral of the story: lesson learned. I wont be missing Any dental appointments. I wouldnt say I love the the dentist by any means...but spano and his team are excellent excellent excellent!

I have been coming to South Side Dental Center since 2016.They have a great staff, always super nice and trying to help in any way they can to make things go as smooth as possible for an all around positive experience…I can’t help but be impressed with Dr.Brad Spano and all the great dental surgery & work he has done on me personally including,Multiple Tooth Extractions,Sinus Lift & Bone Graft,Root Canal, Dental Implant Surgery & Permanent Zirconia Ceramic Bridge That Were All Custom Made To Fit Perfectly In My Mouth…I honestly have never experienced any pain during or after any of those procedures,no unusual swelling or bleeding and always had a quick recovery time…Whatever your dental issue is,South Side Dental Center with out a doubt will be able to take care of you….😬

Update: I finally went through with the sedation surgery and am over the moon happy. I am so happy I can finally can have the beautiful smile I have always deserved.No matter how many times I come here, I know that the staff will be there to support my journey. I have been dealing with dental problems my whole life and finally decided to get complete uppers. This is emotional for me, but Dr. Spano and his assistant have been so caring with working with me on what would be the better fit for my happiness in the end. They truly are a special office and would recommend everyone to them.

Dr. Spano missed a cavity and my next visit came. I went to my next visit and he said oh I missed this cavity last time and now you might loose this tooth. He didnt offer to fix the tooth, didnt offer any compensation for his mistake, and I havent been back. This has been my one and only cavity. I do not recommend him.

In my opinion any service provider should have stellar front staff people. Kindness goes a long way and it seems a lot of receptionists don’t realize that. They are the front lines and who we talk to first. I don’t want to have a bad taste in my mouth before I even arrive at my appt no thank you! I have left two different dentists because of HORRIBLE front staff experiences. I am happy to report that Spano’s team is exceptional in this area! Everyone I interacted with from start to finish was a breath of fresh air. I’m never leaving!!

First time using this dentist and will definitely stick with them. Having not been to the dentist for 4 years, I was worried that the dentist would identify lots of work that was needed. Ive visited other dentists in the past who seem to be overly aggressive to fix minor issues. But the dentist today was very good about documenting the current state of things and taking an approach of lets wait until next time to see if there are any changes. The staff was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Would recommend to others.

On my recent visit, I was very impressed with the offices safety procedures. I felt completely safe. Ive been a patient of Dr. Spanos for about 20 years, but this was my first chance to meet Dr. Nasworthy. His warm personailty instantly put me at ease is discussing my long-postponed consult with a periodontist. With that kind Georgia accent, I swear he could convince me anything was no big deal. Hahaha. Love this practice, especially the wonderful hygenists!!

South Side Dental was wonderful! They were able to get me in to see someone in a timely manner. They were very professional and friendly during my entire visit. They were not able to complete what I needed done in the time allotted but they gave me a solution that would work until I could come in again. I would definitely recommend them!

Dr Spano and staff have been great in spite of covid and the complications of my tooth. Look forward to getting the crown. The time finally came today to get the crown so was so very excited to walk out with the job complete. Yet today I started this journey again after another tooth lost its filling, so will continue to use him as my go to dentist!

I have never wanted or enjoyed going to the dentist until I started going here. Once I got a toothe pulled and they only numbed the toothe area not the whole side of my mouth. Pulled it quick and my hold face was not numb. I would definitely recommend South Side Dental to anyone that is not comfortable with your current dental or don’t go to one at all.

Really think this dentist is awesome. But - I am seeking a new dentist due to miscommunication given to me by the support staff. The classic bait and switch. The new dentist (I forget his name) is he best. He is friendly, knowledgeable and has a eye for detail. My dental hygienist is great, but he noticed something today she missed. He politely corrected her and I was out of there in a flash! My teen was going to look for another dentist office, but once she met the new dentist, she now wants to stay. We have been going here for years. They have an efficient process for check-ins and check-outs.
