Mother in law spent 15 of 18 days in bed. Very little therapy. Very poor communication with family. Had to move her to an assisted living situation. It’s been almost a month and she is slowly rebounding from a lack of attention at Peak. She has more energy and her heel sore is starting to heal.

My mom was admitted there on oct 10th.. but on the 16th she passed away… they called me at 1 am to inform me that she had passed away.. but they didn’t not call me to tell me that she had been having trouble breathing.. they didn’t even take her to the hospital when things got out of hand.. and now I feel like I’m responsible for her death because I was the one who made the call to send her there… THANK YOU PEAK RESOURCES FOR MAKING ME FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR MY MOMS DEATH

My father was transferred to Peak Resources-Charlotte on 6/1/2021 around 5pm. My father had Lumbar back surgery 5/28/2021.I arrived at your facility at 1:41pm today as my father was getting ready for occupational therapy. Towards the end of the therapy- his therapist mentioned his eagerness to go home and advised him to be patient with the process. My father then mentioned he just wanted to be treated with fairness and as a decent human being during his stay at this facility. He proceeds to say that he does not want to have to sit in his own fetus and urine for 6hrs again. This was my first-time hearing this and at this time, I chimed in and asked…Is this true? He stayed YES!Pam Damron-Rehab Manager/Speech Therapist also in the room began to apologize for the mishap. I then began to question Pam about the staff on duty during this time and she gave me the name of nurse Marsha Darden whom my father stated came in around 9pm and he told her that he had used the bathroom on himself. She responded that she would be back to only never return and proceed to clock-out at 11pm as her shift had ended. The night nurse who was a white male (I was unable to get his name) came in and changed my father at 1am and around 5:45am. My father stated he had/had serval bowel movements and urination between the times and had notified staff but was only changed the two times mentioned. He stated serval ppl were in and out of his room but, no one was changing him, and he had to lay in his own discomfort and humiliation until his male staff finally decided to change him.Following this information, the director of nursing Ian Fraser came in and spoke with us concerning this matter at 2:53pm. I then asked Ian to confirm the names of the staff who were assisting my father during this time.Ian asked what/why I needed to learn the name of the staff members who let my father sit in his own fetus and urine for??? AND it’s simple ACCOUNTABILITY! I want these people to be held responsible for not following policy as your website states and I quote, “Our attentive staff will make you or your loved one feel at home in a comfortable and relaxing environment, no matter how long the stay.”Was there not some rules or protocols broken here? My father was humiliated and felt ashamed and uncomfortable! Who sleeps in their own urine and fetus all night?Ian stated that he was doing an investigation of the matter however, if it was anything like the conversation he had with me, I am sure it will be short, brief and disregardedI am very displeased with the service that has been provided from this facility up to this point and I would like to know the updates on how this investigation turned out.

PEAK of Charlotte is an unexpected gem. Walking into the quiet and serene building you are greeted with lovely well appointed sitting rooms halls and patient rooms. The facility like the wonderfully caring professionals who work there is on pointe. It is sleek and perfectly appointed for Short and Long term Rehab. The therapy department is skilled and has a high success rate discharging patients to their highest level of function.

From my first phone call with the admissions office, I knew this was the place for my mom. Staff answered all my questions and was very patient with me. I decided on the facility without even taking a tour. Once I arrived at the facility, I was impressed because it was such a nice facility. I appreciated the staff members and several of them went above and beyond. The therapy was amazing. My mom arrived in a wheelchair and left in a walker. They made sure we had all the necessary equipment in the home. I am thankful for everything Peak Resources has done for my mom.

I came to the facility for short term rehabilitation and I am discharging home after completion of my therapy. My experience was very pleasant. And all the staff was very patient and explained tasks as they were being completed. Therapy was very helpful. Nursing care was excellent and they always checked on me; they were very good. The room is very nice and neat and clean. The whole facility is beautiful. I think all the staff needs a raise.

My overall experience with Peak was GOOD. Staff was very friendly. I meet a lot of new friends that were visitors and residents. The kitchen staff will send you anything that they want you to have, not what you ordered. 3rd shift staff was not up to the standards of the rest of the staff. Overall I had a positive experience and would return again. Thanks to all the staff.

My mother has only been at this place for 7 days for short term to work on gaining her strength. I went to visit her yesterday at 2:25 to find her lying in bed in a diaper because they didnt want to help her to the bathroom. My mother is capable of going on her own so she was just following their rules about not getting out of bed without assist. The room reeked from the smell of pull ups that had been wet and trash was not emptied since she had been there. I asked the nurse on duty whose name is Dawn why she was still in bed in the afternoon with the windows closed and no air circulating. She became very very rude and demanded that I wear a mask in the room. When I refused she called the police and told them that I hit her and they asked me to leave. I was so distraught because I didnt know what they would do to my mother without me present. I tried to talk with the director the next day and she also became very very rude and demanded I leave the premises. I had to go to my moms doctor to see about her being released today. Never Never place a love one here. I wished I never did. If anyone has a family member there I suggest you move them as soon as possible.

I have served as a Nursing Home Administrator for over 10 years. Peak Resources is a wonderful company to work for and has given me the ability to impact our staff and the residents entrusted in our care. I can not say enough of how skilled our nursing staff is and the passion in which they perform their duties. I assure you that what you might remember in some of our past challenges is no longer the case.I stand by willing and able to address your concerns. We will do everything we can to meet or exceed your needs.

Worst place ever! People dont care nothing about the residents, they are just there to draw a paycheck They are under-staffed They are in business just for the monies. I wouldnt recommend this place to nobody! Very insensitive people that work here. I hope one of them dont end up in a nursing home one day, whoa to them. You get back how you treat and do unto others that cant help themselves! God see all. Remember that.

Dont walk but run, from this shop of horror.I had knee surgery and needed a skilled nursing facility , for my rehab.I never witnessed so much neglect, number one, they dont have enough staff, and what they have only a few know there job.I want this center investigated, because I just cant tell you all I went through. For this center to receive Medicare and Medicaid some of the administration, need to be replaced and I am going to see if I can help this happen.

My aunt was at this facility after knee replacement surgery 5 years ago. When she recently had pneumonia and needed rehab, she asked to return here. She is 95 and is now a permanent nursing home resident.I have been very impressed with the facility and staff. Having been a nursing supervisor for many years in nursing homes, I have seen my share of problems and know what bad treatment is. There have been very few problems and when we spoke to someone about them, they were corrected right away, they were only small things. We had one bigger problem, we fillf a grievance and it was addressed and the offending CNA is no longer there.I live in another state and feel confident that my Aunt is in good hands and well cared for.The staff are caring and helpful, the facility is beautiful, clean and well cared for. I have found this to be a wonderful place for my aunt, and Im pretty picky about where I want her and her care.

I wish i wouldve read all you guys comments before placing my mom in place.. Absolutely horrible. Now i can say the staff was wonderful but only do what they can. But when i say NO STAFF, i mean none.. It took them an hour to come to my mom room to change her. When it came to discharging her, she har to go home soiled because it took them an hour just to tell her she has to wait

I could write a book about this place. Horrible is all Ill say right now. NEVER send your loved one here. Ive met nurses that have quit this place weeks later based on the treatment of my loved ones there. Management is disrespectful and unprofessional. Lead care givers suggest death over life and my loved one lived through two more Christmass. My loved one stayed there one month. As I said.. If you have a soul.... Do NOT send Anyone you care about to this train wreck.Mr owner of peak, this all happend 2 years ago, dont know how you came up with several.. If the director and head nurse still work there.. Or ombudsman hasnt talked to you yet. Thats just a shame..I see the name if the facility been changed, on google maps that is..

I wanted to share our experience with Peak Resources. I would absolutely stay away from here. It is no wonder they have a 1.8 and really dont deserve that. My grandmother was here twice. The first time was not as bad as the second. She only went back because she was willing to give them a second chance. Most of the employees do not care about the patient just my opinion. Now they do have just a couple of good employees who went above and beyond for my grandmother. She went in there due to a broken femur bone. While in there she developed a UTI and supposedly congestive heart failure. They gave her two different antibodies which didnt help. She was talking crazy and seeing things that werent there. Not once did they suggest her going to the hospital or provide her with antibodies thru an IV. Long story short they sent her home on Friday after giving her a laxative. Once arriving she was dead wait couldnt help us do anything and we had to carry her to the bed. By Saturday Morning she was back in ER with high levels on infection in her body, still the UTI and now phenomena. Not to mention all they feed her was chicken and rice every meal and Tea to drink. The cupcakes were so hard you could drop them on the ground and hear it. you would also think the fact we were there every day checking on her and asking question would have made a difference, but nope. Please just beware, they are on the preferred list of the hospital but I would think twice before placing your love one there. Dont be fooled with how beautiful the center is.
