Very unprofessional! I arrive for a 1pm appointment at 12:50pm and the door is locked with a sign that they have a staff meeting until 1pm. All 6-8 staff members completely ignore me as if I wasn’t standing outside of the door. I come back at 1pm my appointment time to have the entire staff ignore me again. No one had the decency to come to the door and say we will be right with you. Unfortunately, I am not interested in dealing with a office that is unprofessional, uncourteous and not respectful of my time. I left and made another appointment somewhere else. I am running a business and my time is valuable. The least you can do is acknowledge your customer.

Absolutely worst costumer service I have ever experienced. I was supposed to be a new patient. As I come in early for my appointment the lady at the desk was rude from the start. Belittling me the whole time. Being a young adult, she was not helpful. As she denied my insurance because she “couldn’t find me on the policy” (after I just used my insurance elsewhere) she told me I had 5 minutes to figure it out of my appointment was canceled after waiting a month to get in.Also to note, I just called my insurance and I am well on the policy.Will definitely be using a different eye doctor in the area.

Doctor seemed good and gave a thorough exam but office / tech staff have been a nightmare to deal with - it took three phone calls and two office visits just to get a copy of my exam invoice so I could use it for my rebate; They ordered the wrong contacts and when I called they said they would order the correct ones and call me - no call so I called them again to ask about when they would be in only to find out they had never even been ordered; they have had to order trials for my hubby 3 different times and each time it is like pulling teeth to even find out if they had come in yet - we are well over a month since our yearly exam and still don’t have the right contacts in hand. Also, they had printed the wrong glasses prescription (it was the original one I had come in with not the new one I needed to be able to see since my eyes had changed) - just glad I caught It before ordering glasses - so I had to call about that and get that straightened out. Very frustrating to deal with the office / tech staff - they say they will do something and then there is absolutely no follow through.UPDATE: We are now at zero stars - finally got a good prescription for Hubby’s contacts - went to order and was like pulling teeth from the office staff to get them to correctly repeat back to me what I was even ordering, was put on hold multiple times - then they called me back to say they had misquoted the price (despite the fact last time we were there I kept asking if there were any changes in price and was assured there was not) - the coup de gras was constant excuses about how she is busy and then I was hung up on. I called back to speak with the Operations Manager who I was told was not in the office. I have no idea what is wrong with these people - but it is June (we started this process in April) and I have had it. RUN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE - they are clearly incompetent.

The service specifically at the Ballantyne location has gone from best to not-good service. I will start going to the other location off Rea Road.

Great experience at the Ballantyne location! Dr. Michael Watts was wonderful, very professional and knowledgeable, but above all, personable and courteous. The staff at this location were super-friendly, explained my benefits, and were patient as I picked out my frames. The location was also very clean; I was impressed with the protocols during the pandemic.

This place goes through employees like its a McDonalds. Used to take my children here but after the inconsistency in providers every few years we switched offices

While the exam process was good, my overall experience here was bad. I was pressured to purchase a specific pair of glasses, which I was told would be the best fit for my lenses (I have quite large lenses). I received the glasses and they were a horrible fit and the lenses stuck out quite a bit. When I brought the glasses back in to return them, though the employee agreed that the frames were not the best for me and should not have been recommended, I would only receive a partial refund. It turns out, the total cost was over $800, and they only refunded just over $500. I know that it costs money to make glasses, but I should not have had to pay a cent for poor service and a bad, ill-fitting product. I looked over the paperwork I signed and it said that I could get a full refund, but may not if circumstances dont allow for it. No one could explain to me the circumstances of why I could not get a full refund, so they basically took over $300 from me for nothing. I do not recommend.

UPDATE: After a BBB complaint, I finally got a call from the Rea Farms location. They fixed my glasses at no additional charge. Funny that I offered to split the difference originally but their spitefulness got the best of them. If youre going to Carolina Vision Group, go the the Rea Farms location. I wont be going back, try at your own risk.--------------------------------------The exam went well. Everyone was pleasant and explained what what they were doing. Then it came time to order a pair of glasses. First they kept pushing a BOGO, should of paid attention to my spidey senses. These lenses are new and they will be great for you, plus insurance now covers them. Did we mention to BOGO? Ok, so I order one pair of glasses based on what was explained to me.Weeks go by, nothing. I finally call. Oh we dont have any contact information on file for you. Well thats funny because I booked my appointment online and have a confirmation email, isnt that contact info? So I go pick up my glasses. They are glorified, super expensive reading/computer glasses. Not only that, I can see better out of the readers I bought off the shelf. Wait, this isnt what I want and why would I want that? I can buy blue blocking readers for $20. Your eyes will need to adjust, thats new, when I got my last glasses, it like viewing the world in high definition, no adjustment necessary. No refunds! I was explicitly told I could return them for a full refund if I didnt like them. Hang on. Well, you can upgrade your lenses for $175 more. Oh, here we go, its all about the money. Never ignore the spidey senses.Im told that they are getting two stories (of course you are and your someone isnt being completely honest). They cant do anything (of course you cant). She whips out the signed agreement. Yep, I signed that because I was told I was buying glasses that I could see out of. I do appreciate the bold move of showing me the copy of the signed agreement with the glasses on top - classy.Carolina Vision Group customer service is rude and really not customer service, unless of course, you like to get serviced where the sun doesnt shine. I guess when you wear a mask, it makes it ok to be a villain.

Avoid this eye care center. You try to call and schedule an appointment and no one answers. Then you try to email and ask for an appointment with a doctor that was recommended by your friend and no one is there. All the eye doctors that were recommended to me have left the practice. Should be less than 1 star.

I love this practice. I’ve been a patient since 2011. My doctor and his staff are the best. The reason I’m only giving a 4 star review is the fact my appointment took over two hours. It’s normally only an hour. His staff said he had an emergency which I understand. If I had an emergency I would want him to take care of me. It’s just hard spending two hours for an appointment.

Great experience! I was able to schedule a timely appointment. The staff is great in assisting you with questions. Informative exams with open communication. I felt completely comfortable with the outcome.

Dr Douglas is by far the best optometrist around. Very pleasant with an upbeat tone & demeanor. Very thorough & proactively asks questions & explains the end results of the examination. Her comforting demeanor & thoroughness as a professional are a combination that equals excellence in her field. I would certainly recommend her by name for anyone.

These guys and gals really know what they are doing. Was asked question and receive treatment that I hadn’t been asked at other Optical eye care offices. Lots of eye wear to choose from and prices are very reasonable. Was in and out in no time flat. Very professional, so don’t be by fooled the competition. And we know WHO WHO I’m talking about.

I showed up prior to my appointment to look at frames. Mt current lenses and indestructible frames are not sold by carolina vision. I wanted similar. The woman who greeted me and walked me through the process was spectacular, honest, forthright with her answers, etc. etc.. thank you.

I would highly recommend Carolinas vision group. I was called back 10 minutes before my appointment time. The staff were all courteous and professional. I was very impressed with the care Dr. Douglas provided. She was friendly and personable, did a thorough eye exam, and washed her hands before the exam. She answered all of my questions and provided a lot of detail.

Everyone was great. I had no idea that I needed to change my brand of contact lens. I am 37 and have been using one particular brand of contact lens for over 25 years! From the time I walked in the door the staff took great care of me. Helped me get the most out of my insurance benefits, and provided amazing service.

Would not recommend this place to ANYONE. I have taken my family here for the past 2 years and boy how different this year was. First, the 2 doctors we used to see are no longer working here Dr. Douglas and Rickter . We did not have a good experience with Dr Watt. Second, my glasses have taken 1 month to come in. I am still waiting for glasses to come in from end of December. Third, if you do come to this place, make sure YOU are aware of your insurance coverage since I was about to be overcharged for glasses and contacts but I caught the mistake before I signed my credit card receipt. They started charging for a contact fitting even though Ive worn contacts the past 10 years of my life and my prescription didnt change. Will not be coming back here.

Always great to see Dr. Knudson, and Connie, who ordered my new glasses, was as sweet as could be. Front desk staff is so nice and efficient. What a nice visit!

Everyone here is extraordinarily competent and caring. The customer care experience is the gold standard. Dr. Knudsen and Dr. Douglas are excellent. I never sit twiddling my thumbs in the waiting room, they are so considerate of my time. I get huge smiles from every department. Dont hesitate to go here, Ive been a patient for at least five years and they have never disappointed.

I am not a native of the area and selected Carolinas Vision Group from options offered by my insurance. I was treated in a professional, friendly manner from entry to exit. I had tests done on my eyes that have NEVER been done in the decades I have worn glasses.When it was time to select frames I was very clearly presented with my exact insurance coverage and informed to my satisfaction about my choices. The staff even collectively voted on a pair of glasses they thought was most flattering! My entire experience was 2.5 hours and I enjoyed all of it. I am excited for my new eyewear to arrive and would highly recommend this establishment and their qualified staff to anyone desiring honest, not-commission driven service.

I really like the staff and the facility is very nice. I only reduced it by one star because they ask if you want services without clearly identifying that there is an extra charge. They sometimes state that you would like something instead of asking; even though there is an additional charge. Overall a great place to go and I love the staff.

Front desk was courteous and welcoming. The examination was thorough and quick. The eye doctor, Chick was friendly and spent time just talking with me before conducting the vision test. After the test he reviewed the results of the test and examination and walked me to the front desk. I was met by the contact fitter who was enthusiastic and friendly, and walked me through the contact cost and insurance. All this in less than an hour AND at the end of the day. Fantastic!

Very good and professional office. The doctor exam felt a bit rushed. Robin helped us find frames and she is the best but we were not able to find something close to insurance allowance and required size (the gap between insurance allowance and frame prices has really become too wide). There were better choices on much higher price range.

I would give this place a negative star if it were possible. The Doctor that I had the opportunity to see was wonderful however the rest of the process there is out of sync. By far I have received the worst customer service at this office. I ordered some contacts and they were new to the market and there was a backlog which is understandable. I received information when they came in and when I was able to contact them to see what my options were I contacted them on 09/13 and left a message with my # and message and its now 09/18 and no one ever returned my call. I started this process on 07/02. No contacts and no Glasses!!!

I felt very welcomed the moment I walked in the door, each employee may have been busy with other customers but they acknowledged my presence. They were all very nice and asked if I needed any help upon browsing their selection of frames. The ladies at the desk were very nice and they greeted me with a smile and was quick to assist me when I asked what I needed to do as a first time patient. The doctor i saw was very nice and extremely thorough in her examination, especially since i hadnt been to an eye doctor in almost 10 plus years. She even mentioned a speck i had on my eye that i dint even know about. I will say this i am definitely glad that the reputation of this place was spot on, i have only heard good things about it and i can definitely see why first hand.

The team was very prompt and exceptionally friendly. They explained everything as they went. Dr. Kimberly Mark took the time to explain the many different contact options for my vision. Even though I was not planning on purchasing new glasses at this visit, the staff in the lens/frame area took the time to price out how much I would have to pay out of pocket for new lens and frames, explaining several different options. I was very impressed with the entire operation.

Well, that is Dr. Knudsen. He has a wonderful spirit and magnetic personality. There are many doctors in Charlotte but you wont find one with his intellect, wit, spirit and positive vibe. Front office staff was also patient and knowledgeable! Kudos to Mindy at the front desk. She is a seasoned vet at her job and I knew it was not her first time dealing with complicated insurance plans. She was able to decipher our insurance benefits with ease and multi-tasked with other office staff members while waiting on the phone and chatting with my 10 year old and husband with ease! She is a keeper - what a gem! Again, as a first timer and someone who has worn contacts & glasses for over 30 years, you will be treated with gentle hands, a caring heart and positive enerngy. Exceeded my expectations. BTW - I am trying out a new brand of contacts and hope they help with my dry eye condition. Will keep you posted. I have a feeling this will be the best change ever.

I had the pleasure meeting and being seen by Dr. Amanda Rickher. I will be returning and requesting to see her again for my future visits. I had a fantastic experience and was able to get the help and prescription I needed. She was professional, kind, patient and able to help me with my poor vision! The team was very welcoming and accommodating. This was my first eye exam and experience needing glasses. Carolina Vision Group answered all my questions and helped pick the best financial route with my insurance and package deals they had. 10 Stars if it were an option!

I want to start by saying my experience the CVG was great. Their doctors and contact staff were friendly and helpful. I even ended up making money when purchasing my contacts which I was extremely thankful for. I needed glasses but was running late and decided I would come back another day to select frames. When I arrived there was someone being helped so I waited patiently. They did not have the frames I was looking for but were willing to order them in multiple colors for me to try. I received a call the next day letting me know the order was placed and when I could come in. Excellent service and follow up.

Great experience! I had an issue with my eye on a Saturday and they made time to see me so I didnt have to wait until Monday. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

As a new resident in the Charlotte area, I feel very lucky to have been referred to CVG. All of the staff have been courteous, informed, and pleasant to work with. I have been able to schedule appointments quickly and never have to wait when I arrive. They were very competitive on pricing for contacts too.

Ive been a patient since Carolina Vision Group was located on Tyvola, and had a different name! The staff is warm, courteous and knowledgeable, and they have always taken good care of my vision. The doctors always answer my questions, and dont talk down to me. As Ive gotten older, and my eyes and vision have changed, the care I receive when I go in for my yearly visit has also evolved to address my current needs. Its hard to go wrong with such an established practice.

The staff at Carolinas Vision Group is always very friendly and efficient. They do a great job setting expectations and explaining the reason for each test throughout the eye exam. Kimberly Mark-Douglas, O.D always communicates the results and analysis from each test in a way I can understand and explains any changes in vision from my last visit. The office administrative staff is very knowledgeable about my insurance coverage through VSP for contacts and eye glasses and always let me know about rebate opportunities.

Great experience, friendly staff, and great options for frames. They didn’t have the ones I wanted, but made sure to order the for me no problem. I was attended by Dr. Steven Kotsokalis who did a great job.

This is my second year going to CVG and I have been so impressed. You get in and taken care of in a timely manner and everyone there is so nice and truly cares about their clients. Kayte helped me with my glasses and she spent so much time with me making sure I was well taken care of and seemed to have a good knowledge of the way glasses should fit, etc.. She made sure I also got the best bang for my buck and we had great conversation during my visit. I would definitely recommend coming here, you won’t regret it!

Dr. Douglas not only is a warm , caring physician she also help save my daughter eye sight. Plus everyone in the office is so precious.

I do not have any issue with the staff, the Doctors, or the place but the biggest issue I have with them is that they do NOT send you upcoming appointment reminder emails or calls. If you are a busy person like me and tend to forget things, its very easy to miss the appointment and they dont bother to call until you call them back. The next will then be weeks or months away.

Dr Douglas is a great Doctor. After seeing other eye doctors over the years, they were never able to get my prescription for contacts right, but Dr Douglas nailed it. The admin staff are great too!

What service! From the front desk, the initial screening, the doctors exam to the contacts/glasses fitting crew and check out procedures - everything was top notch and thorough. I called on Tuesday and they had an appointment the following day. Thanks to everyone on duty today for excellent service.

(BTW, Thank you for the kind Veteran discount on the eye exam every year.)Then you are handed off to the Opticians, where I felt as if I was interacting with a used car salesperson.No service menus nor price guidelines.All prices are quoted by the Optician on a post-it note.Discount percentage quoted varied every single time I sat with the Optician.Mr. Vu Bai(COO) you should really monitor how the Pricing and discounts are managed. Price quoted should be standardized and formal; no more “post-it” quotes, bait and switch, please.Initial discount quoted started at -40% off list. On my next visit was quoted at -30%. Then today -25%.My complaint is not on the amount of the discount I received.Rather on why and how it can change three times on a single transaction.Yes I would take my RX somewhere else, had I not waited over a month for the frame and RX.

I arrived a few minutes early and the front desk verified my information. I was seen by the pre-checkup employee, who was extremely professional at the appointment time, which is very rare in 95 percent of most medical offices. After completion of the pre-check, I was taken to an examination room and was seen by Dr. Douglas in less than 5 minutes. Dr. Douglas was very thorough in.checking my vision and explaining any abnormalities she saw. The visit was very enjoyable and thorough. The entire staff was extremely courteous.

The first doctor to take my dry eye seriously and actually help me! Very kind staff, highly recommend.Update: I was originally very happy with my treatment until I realized I was getting ripped off. They insisted on doing an elaborate dry eye exam that they refused to submit to insurance. At the end of the appointment they would tell me the total and I would pay - assuming they had properly filed with my insurance and that was the remainder owed. Nope. They were overcharging us and not submitting everything to insurance. We went back and forth with them and our insurance for months trying to get them to submit it properly and get refunds - about $300 in total. They would speak rudely to my husband when he called to deal with this issue and put him on hold until he hung up. they finally agreed to refund us $90 but it never actually showed up in our bank account. We eventually gave up and I made an appointment at horizon eye center, where they never insisted that I have a dry eye exam that wouldnt be submitted to insurance, and Ive received great treatment and they filed everything perfectly with my health insurance with very little out-of-pocket cost. I will never go to this place again and honestly it seems like what they are doing is fraudulent.Also: my husband left a bad review yesterday detailing his experience - youll find me as Amanda Hatfield Meena as a patient. I dont expect this will be resolved as it happened last year and I forgot to update my review until now.

Very thorough exam and care. Excellent patience and advise with glasses selection and purchase. After multiple visits, they seem to get better every time.
