After leaving New York and my longtime stylist in 2018, I struggled to find the same quality. Bouncing around to places that were sub-par ruined the long hair and balayage I had for years. Fortunately I found HAJ Salon when I moved to Charleston in January!!!! Magical locks are created and maintained here, plus they make hair did day so fun. Now that I have grey, I have to go every 6 weeks, but now I look forward to seeing Z and Chelsea instead of dreading sitting in a chair for hours. ❤️❤️❤️ Highly recommend, and my standards are super high. Caty is fabulous! I wanted to make a change to the hairstyle I’ve had for years, so I came in with a few example pics and asked for a “cool girl” haircut. Caty is a pro and was able to read my mind, she gave me exactly what I wanted! She did an amazing job on both my cut and highlights and even took the time to show me how to style it and work with my natural texture. Cannot recommend her enough!!

Bad first experienceI went to their website to make an appointment with Zsolt. He had plenty of availability for the date I chose. The next day I was called to be told that he doesn’t actually take new clients. Would’ve been nice to make that announcement on the website don’t you think? I am very disappointed

Zsolt colored and cut my hair last week and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I showed him a picture of the red hair I wanted and he executed it perfectly, and faster than most. I would’ve waited longer and paid more for such gorgeous results! I will be returning in the future😁

I had an amazing experience at HAJ salon when I came in and got a men’s haircut. I pre-booked online with Caty and when I showed up she immediately made feel at home and was very kind and outgoing.Caty is extremely knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to hair so I felt very comfortable going to her. My hair looked great and I got a lot of complements. She is a great hairstylist and I would highly recommend her as well as any of the stylists at HAJ salon for all of your hair care needs!

I’ve been to HAJ several times over the last year and a half, and recently have brought my teenage daughters in as well. Zsolt is a true artist and professional (as is his entire staff). My hair looks fabulous and not require excessive maintenance. Gorgeous salon and tasty wine!

I got one the of the best haircuts here from Caty when I was visiting from New York City. It’s a great place and Caty is super cool and knows how to bring the best out of your hair. You’re crazy to not get an appointment with Caty if you live nearby or are traveling!!

I had a haircut/blowout a few weeks ago. My appointment was delayed and I was asked if I could reschedule it again. I couldn’t. Just because I have a last appointment doesn’t mean I should be left with lesser care. Was it because I was also a first timer? Appointments beforehand lasted hours. I felt uncomfortable that my hairstylist had just smoked, and I could still smell some of it while he cut my hair. The poor guy was clearly exhausted. I definitely did not feel I got my money’s worth, deflating me because I thought with all the good reviews I was in for an amazing time.

Cant say enough about my first experience at HAJ Salon! This was my first cut/color with a new stylist in almost 15 years and it was the first week hair salons were open back up after the corona virus! I was nervous, but quickly learned I had nothing to worry about. Zsolt listened to what I was looking for, added some great suggestions and 3 hours later, I had a perfect cut and terrific sun-kissed color! My search for a new stylist is over, I couldnt be happier!mbn

Katie Stephens is amazing! It was my second time into Haj salon and I can not be more happy. Great experience starting from the time I walked in to the time I left. As I entered the hair salon, a women offered me a beverage and checked my coat in. The shampoo was lovely as well. I showed Katie a photo of how exactly I wanted my haircut and she exceeded my expectations with the cut & style. Sitting in her chair is a nice experience too, she gives you all of her attention and makes you feel like your catching up with your best friend :-). Will defiantly be returning back soon.

Stacey is awesome! She is attentive, creative, and ultra talented. I receive more compliments on my hair than ever before! In addition, the salon as a whole has nice people and a great atmosphere. Be prepared for a fabulous experience!

When I relocated from NYC in February, I came to Haj; Ive been coming here every month ever since. The atmosphere, the associates + especially Selina are amazing. They listen to their clients needs + seamlessly take care of everything.

If you need a good hair stylist, I would reccomend Steven. He is very talented and has a very artistic approach to his work. Beyond that he is a fantastic guy and a real professional is his craft! Steven has been cutting my hair for a while now and is the only person I trust to get my hair exactly how I want it. Everyone that works at the salon is incredibly friendly and the salon has a very inviting and comfortable vibe.

Finding a hair stylist when moving to a new city can be a daunting task, but I had the good fortune when I first moved to Charleston of getting a recommendation for Steven Giessel from a friend. The man is insanely talented and has given me a wide range of style over the years. I honestly can’t recommend him enough! The salon itself is fantastic and I’ve enjoyed my interactions with everyone who works there.

This review is long overdue. Ive been going to Zsolt regularly now for about a year and Im thrilled to finally have someone here in Charleston that I trust with my hair. Since I moved from NJ 8 years ago its been a struggle to find a salon and hairstylist I trust. I often traveled back to NJ to get my hair fixed after a couple bad experiences. Zsolt is great and my hair looks and feels the best it has in a long time. He also cuts my husbands long hair and my husband says hes never letting anyone else touch his hair :) The salon is beautiful kept and its a relaxing atmosphere.

Ive lived in Charleston for a year and a half and never found a stylist that Ive liked. I came across HAJ and read about Zsolts extensive experience in the industry and was immediately intrigued. I booked an appointment through the online portal for 7pm. First of all, how amazing is it for us working gals that HAJ is open after 5 and on Saturday?? So convenient. I also couldnt get over the location! Its right off of East Bay and they even have parking (unheard of in downtown Charleston) From the first steps through the door it is obvious that HAJ is different from other Charleston Salons. Its high end but not snooty, trendy but not tacky, and every element of the space has been designed with their clients in mind. Literally the most comfortable salon chairs and washing stations that I have ever sat in. Zsolt took a consultative approach to my hair and listened to what I wanted while offering expert advice. Chelsea is his go-to gal who acts as resident hostess and manager and she kept me laughing and my wine glass topped off throughout my appointment. I am absolutely thrilled at how my balayage and trim turned out and will never go anywhere else for my hair now. Truly a one of a kind experience.
