I had engagement photos this past weekend so decided to treat myself to getting my hair done for a stress free time. This was my first time at the dry bar. Everyone was very nice, but they were running behind. They got my hair done close to on time, but it seems they rushed to do so. My hair looked good, but it fell within 15 minutes. Over all I felt like I wasted the money when I could’ve done almost the same to my hair.

1st time to ever go to a dry bar or even buy your products Ladies were kind and customer service was great. Unfortunately I wasnt overly pleased with my hair for it to only go flat within an hour or so. Totally get the humidity.... it didnt hold well. $100 out the window and I could have put a braid and curls in my hair. I wanted the southern comfort. Thats what I put in for my appointment and I assumed thats the style she was doing. And as well didnt use the mud mask service, was in and out less than 30 mins.

I absolutely loved Tyler. She did such an amazing job with my hair and I don’t trust anyone with my hair. Seriously such a beautiful style. Thank you again Tyler for being so sweet, professional, and slaying my hair.

Super mini-spa break during our Charleston vacation. The charcoal scalp scrub is superb. The stylist was pleasant, not overly conversational and the atmosphere was relaxed. After my wash, scrub and blowout I waited for my daughter to finish (she has a lot of hair!) The stylists were so personal and fun, I felt like I was just chatting with girlfriends minus the wine! Thinking of booking? Dollar worthy my friends. Do it!

Sidney was so sweet! She was a delight to chat with while she washed my hair- gave me the extra boost & volume I wanted and added a little curl! I loved the outcome- will def go back!

Disappointing customer service - I called attempting to pay for a group booking as a surprise for my sister for her bachelorette. The phone number routes to a generic customer service line that was incredibly unhelpful - including giving me a phone number for the Houston drybar… I abandoned my request because the customer service team couldn’t help. I can’t comment on actual services, but I was really frustrated by this process.

The salons A/C wasnt working the day I was in. They still managed to keep a smile on their faces and make my hair look great! I was impressed!

Love drybar!Cant say enough wonderful things about them.I have been getting services from them for a couple years now. Love being able to get a fresh look before a date or just to make myself feel good especially during these times. Will continue to go back!

Had a wedding function in Charleston,Went into Drybar to make an appointment. On the day of appointment, went in at scheduled time . My appointment for myself and daughter was not scheduled in their system. Manager booked our appointments, took our credit card to hold and book appointments. Yet, the Staff was not helpful in contacting manager to resolve problem or try to fit us in. Very frustrating and disappointing. Needless to say if you have a function to attend, do not go to this establishment. Very unprofessional!!!!

Everyone was super nice here and they did a great job! The $20 extra charge for extensions is a little steep since most places don’t charge extra but other than that great experience!

We were five minutes late because of traffic - in the downtown Charleston area. We called 20 min ahead of time to let them know we would be five minutes late. However, we were still treated rudely and did not receive our booked services. We were switched to a dry style. After being switched to a dry style, we waited for 10 min for to even be seated. I asked if I could have my hair washed and not styled as much- but that was not allowed. My dry style took 10 minutes. 10 minutes. I should have been given my 40 minutes that was left after I arrived with 40 left in my appointment. The front desk gave no grace and she was rude.

I’m a huge DryBar fan;however, my friends and I were not treated kindly. We did arrive 5 minutes late, but we did notify them more than 20 minutes in advance we were running late due to traffic. My friend and I sat for 10 minutes after we were told all clients for our appt time were seated. We were only offered a dry style because we were late and the front desk and stylist were not kind at all. There was not an option to wash and spend less time styling which would have been a better option. Our other friend had short hair and she was treated like a normal customer, wash/style/everything. Given the location and parking, I feel a 5 min grace period would assist with customer service.

Am a huge Dry Bar fan but I will never set foot in this particular one ever. We were spoken to rudely and treated the same. Did not let them touch our hair after comments they and their clients in the chair said to us. This was because they were running way behind and we questioned whether we could get our blowouts done and to a dinner in time. Then the comments began.

Absolutely love my hair! the ladies working were to kind, warm, & made me feel brand new! definitely going back soon.

Great job for $25 plus a drink for dry styling. And my stylist was so nice!

I love going to Drybar when Im traveling. I made an appointment for this location about 2 weeks prior. The salon was super busy but they saw me right on time! Kendra (I think!) was my stylist and she gave me the best blow out I have ever had. She is aggressive about it in the most satisfying best way possible. She is not for the tender headed but I loved her style! Request Kendra if you want an intense but amazing blowout. I want to go back to Charleston just to get my hair styled by her.

Got my hair done here for my wedding. They do a good wash and then blow dry and style. One of the best blow outs I have ever had. I usually hate my hair after they are done and here I loved it. Staff was friendly and place was clean. I had an appointment and was seen promptly.

The ladies here were so nice and my hair felt great. Humidity didnt agree with me the day I popped in, but they did a touch up after Id walked up the street and lost my curls. Ill be back again and highly recommend it. Its an easy gift and great experience.

Stylist used WAY too much product and did not provide desired results. I still gave four stars because the manager was quick to have someone else restyle my hair.

I am obsessed with this place. Im so grateful they are in Charleston. My hair has never looked this good!! The staff is very kind and super entertaining. Great customer service and products but I don’t think this is the best place for people with naturally super curly hair. I was worried about this when I arrived and once I left I noticed that my roots were still curly. After I took my own straightener to it, I was fine but nothing I couldn’t do at home. most definitely won’t be back

Loved my girl, (ray) wonderful facilities, just was a pain to get to bc theres a dry bar one block up that is closed, so a bit of confusion, and no phone to be able to call to talk to anyone at the actual location, that is the only reason I would give it 4 and not 5... also it was a rainy day and there is no awning out front, might be a good investment to have have so your hair stays on point! ;)

The customer service was wonderful! Everyone was very nice and it has a fun atmosphere however, the quality of services does not match the quality of marketing or the beautiful decorating. Both my mom and I came here to have our hair done. The curls in my moms hair were greasy and hair fell flat before even leaving the salon. My mom even had a sticky bright white streak of styling product that was difficult to remove hanging by her face. My hair was tried up with a rubber band and then curled like Shirley Temple. We both went to a second salon to have our hair redone. I was offered a refund for my services (wonderful customer service) however I did not accept. The ladies doing our hair did their best and were very kind. I think a little more training for their stylist would make a worlds difference.

Kirby was amazing. They make you feel Amos and like a celebrity. They take the whole treat yourself to a whole new level . Its honestly one of the best experiences. Im going to be a definite repeat customer !!

My friend Mandy and I had appointments a month ago for a few hours before our friends wedding that we were the “day of” coordinators for. They were super packed and running behind so the owner sent two incredible ladies Queen and Tenia to our Airbnb to do our hair while we got ready for the ceremony! The owner was extremely accommodating and kind and the wonderful ladies that came to save the day KILLED IT!!! They were sweet and funny and made my hair look better that it has ever looked in my entire life (Queen, you’re 10/10!!) This shop is awesome! Tina followed my exact request and gave an extra free scrub to my scalp since I was in a cast and couldnt wash my own hair. The staff was friendly, accommodating and lovely!

Was excited to try out drybar for the first time. The receptionist was rude because we were early to our appointment. We were not offered a complimentary beverage like every other customer. The stylist nearly burned my scalp with scalding water while washing my hair. She also burned me multiple times with the blow dryer. Every time I would pull away she continued to dry without hesitation. The staff seemed in a rush to get through their bookings for the day. The hair stylist did the exact opposite style than what we had discussed. My curls and blow out ended up falling within 20 minutes which hardly ever happens to me because I have naturally curly hair. Would be willing to try Dry Bar again but a different location. Beautiful salon just need some work on their customer service.

I was visiting Charleston on vacation and the humidity and rain left my hair a mess and I was unprepared to fix it myself. My hotel was right next to the Drybar and I was intrigued so I did some research and made an appointment. Ive never gone to a salon like this and never had a blowout before, so I was uneasy if the stylists would know how to style African-American hair. When I walked in to make my appointment I was assured that it would be no problem. I ordered the dirty martini because thats a style Im unable to achieve on my own. I talked to my stylist, Dorothy, about the products I usually use and dont use on my hair and she was very communicative throughout. The results were perfection and I couldnt be happier! So glad I tried the Drybar and I highly recommend Dorothy!

We stumbled upon the drybar on our walk and we immediately went in to see what it was all about. The receptionist, Ashley, was fabulous! Very personable and making the appointment was very easy. She even helped me pick out which hairstyle I should try. My stylist Rey was perfect for me. She was attentive but knew I didn’t want to chat since my eyes were closed the whole time. Her shampoo massage was phenomenal. These 2 ladies made my experience. Plus my hair looked great!! I had low expectations because I hadn’t been to drybar before but I was pleasantly surprised! Would recommend.

I only go to get a blowout a few times a year if I have a special event; everyone is friendly there but the skill level does seem very very different from stylist to stylist, it was okay but there are better options in the Charleston area, I would probably go to them and not return to this one

This is my new go to place for a blow out and/or dry style! They are phenomenal! My 1st time I got the charcoal scalp scrub and the mudslide hair mask add ons with my blow out. It was THE best scalp massage I have ever received, and I was with a hair stylist named Blanche. The 2nd time my experience was not as great, but with good communication and customer service my problems were resolved 100 times over. I am very thankful for the manager Jessica and my new favorite stylist Dorothy, thank yall!

I had an exceptional experience! I showed up late, because Id mistakenly thought my appointment was a half hour later than what Id reserved it for, and they STILL worked me in although it was near closing. Then, the manager didnt use my Groupon because there wasnt time for the full blowout, since Id arrived so late- so I still get to use that! This location on King went above and beyond- and Ive already booked my next appointment for July 14th!

First time at a DryBar and it was a bad experience. My stylist was not friendly, didn’t even talk to me. My hair looked terrible, nothing I asked for. My part in the wrong place after correcting her a few times. Not happy with the services and hated how I looked for my brother in laws wedding.Update: after a response from the owner- I emailed the location with my contact info and got an automated response saying I would hear back within 72 hours - it’s now been a week and nothing....

I went to the drybar in Charleston this morning. I was a little skeptical about going but the results were AMAZING. My stylist Gabby worked magic on me and my hair was flowing with soft wavy like curls. Did I mention I was out in less than one hour? The products she used helped my curly wavy roots be manageable and soft. Since I moved to the low country from NJ, I had been shopping for an African American beauty salon with no luck or success. There are way to many offering exactly what I am not looking for - extremely long service time, too many products that weigh down your hair and gel use on my baby hair Ugh.... I am a grown woman with no baby hair or edge problems. Gabby used a blow dryer, two products and a curling iron and my hair was shiny full of body and very stylish. I made my standing appt with her for every two wks. Thanks Gabby, I LOVE MY HAIR!!!

Beautiful salon, great blowout and very fast!

I was so excited to try drybar and was considering even signing up for a membership. Unfortunately while the salon was beautiful and the receptionist welcoming the minute I sat at the shampoo bowl with Katie I knew it wouldnt turnout well. After a lackluster shampoo and the poorest attempt at blow drying I ever experienced my hair looked like a frizzy mess. I even tried giving her direction (Ive been getting blowouts since I was 18) but she just tried to use a flat iron on high heat after I told her that using the highest setting would just damage my lightened hair. While I can definitely understand that my hair is curly and textured Ive never had a blowout this awful in my life. Below is a picture of the last blowout I had before this one and then todays. Big difference...

I bought this as a Groupon and went today as my first blowout experience. Honestly, it was ok.Pros:-Clean-Professional staff and very friendlyCons:-My hair did not look like what I asked for but at that point, there was so much product and work done that I just dealt with it-the deep conditioning treatment was nothing more than conditioner after the wash. My hair is dryer now than when I walked in. By the way, for a regular cost, that would be $20 extra-the recommended $ Tip at each work station is just tacky. You feel pressured into giving more than you should.I recommend using only if you want ringlets or a straight blowout. All the other styles look the same. Good for the Groupon experience but not if it was full priced.
