WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!They lied about my records from 4yrs in pain management from Texas. The doctor here told me I had repeatedly asked for my Rx to be called in early to the TX clinic. Funny thing, though, one of the rules of the TX clinic was that you had to have an appointment every 30 days to get a new paper prescription. When I brought this fact up, the Dr said she had proof, but would not let me see said proof. So, I ended up in the hospital extremely sick shortly after moving here.

I was discharged from UNC Rex hospital and my doctor at the hospital placed a referral to this clinic because he knew I was/am in crazy pain from multiple acute pancreatitis hospitalizations. I called and at first they said theyre booked 6 weeks in advance and my referral basically doesnt mean anything and will have to be reviewed by their doctors to see if I am eligible of their services. What the heck?? I called again and I was told theyre not taking on new patients. I went to my primary and now he is calling them and other clinics trying to find someone who can see me asap. Pain from pancreatitis will bring you to your knees. Its horrible and debilitating and you cant function..I need pain management asap.

Think long & hard before seeking help from this place, treating pain from whatever medical condition you have is not their priority. I was going through a medical issue recently and was unfortunately forced into dealing with a place like this but looking back now that I don’t suffer from same issue, it is a horrific experience. They will treat you like a criminal, assume you are some horrible person and honestly, make what is already a stressful time far worse. If you can, try anything else to avoid this place, buy marijuana if you’re ok with that & it could help, try a surgical procedure just anything to avoid dealing with a place like this. Opioid addiction is a serious issue, and clearly has been given to people it shouldn’t of, but dealing with that issue does not mean flinging immediately to opposite extreme leaving people in pain whilst treating them as criminals. I’m sorry, I know if you’re looking you’re going through something but looking back I wouldn’t have knowingly put up with their ‘treatment‘, it is a broken system.

If I could give 0 stars I would do that...this place is a joke I deal with chronic back pain I also have degenerative disc disease, and from what 10 other doctors at UNC told me I have the back of a 60 year old man (Im only 29) and will be in a wheelchair by the time Im 40, they sent me in for another MRI, and the PA looked over an image of my spine (which after seeing 4 different images of my spine I knew it wasnt mine) she proceeded to tell me that there is nothing work with my back and that it must have magically healed even though I was barely able to walk.she gave me muscle relaxers and I told her they were not working then basically called me a junky in front of my daughter and wife even though I told her I didnt want narcotics and wanted them to explore different treatments even though they never once discussed any type of treatments to begin with. This place is very bad especially for having to be on a waiting list for 12 months minimum before being seen it is not worth your time and they will not help you nor discuss any treatment options with you.

This practice has gone seriously downhill since Dr. Blaus retirement, & there is no compassion for those who are struggling under the burden of severe constant pain, & sometimes terminal conditions. The doctors cant be bothered to read the patients chart or review test results prior to a consultation, & its hit or miss with the front end staff depending on who you deal with. If you have other options for your pain management, take them!

My husband has mobility issues and chronic pain from a spinal condition. This clinic is in a commercial building. The interior doors are not w/c accessible and the bathroom is outside the clinic waiting room down the hall (the staff wouldnt allow him to use the restroom in the clinic because they said we need it free for people who are giving urine samples). The staff at the clinic are efficient, but not accommodating. There is no atmosphere of caring--even superficially.

I am a 14 year Army veteran, who was looking for a second opinion on the way my pain management, and procedures had been going. I currently have a pain management who has not used current CDC guidelines regarding chronic pain management. So when my wife sent UNC my records, MRIs, and previous pain management findings they suggested that we come and check them out they have different treatments to try. So we get to the initial visit after 40 minutes of paperwork I see a PA there that basically tells me that they dont know what they can do for me. Then she brings the DR in here is where things got strange. The DR wouldnt tell us what method or how they would even go about testing and treating me ( refused to say anything) to the point of her words I am not going to tell you. My wife and I have been to a couple of these places so far so we looked at each other and had our answer right after she said that. But the icing on the cake was the fact that I was not a patient yet but before I left that day the wanted a urine sample from me. I guess the fact that I have long hair, a moustache, and beard threw all that hey we really think we can help to the reality of what the actual visit was. I would not recommend this place to anybody, the administration staff was great and friendly but the DR I saw was a clown shoe and incompetent.

I didnt even get a chance to see them they declined me before getting my side of my pain life. They declined me for being truth that I was smoking weed for pain, bc you see Im high risk pregnant, but no one will treat me. I was a chronic pain patient before I became pregnant and thought the help was there, but guess not. Its bad when you are a mother that has to choose between having a child and being in chronic pain. They should be more doctors in that field, at least, so people do not turn to the street for HELP.

Dr. Chidgey is highly competent, compassionate, and takes the time to thoroughly discuss problems you might be having. Her staff, especially Renee, is great and helps you get your thoughts together before you meet with Dr. Chidgey.

There are a few exceptions, however, this place is poorly run, generally unpleasant staff. I went 4 times for chronic pain and never received any help. Just a rip off place .
