I had a severe spinal injury and needed emergency surgery. A Bilateral Lamenectomy and discectomy during which they had to remove some ossification from between my L5 and S1. That surgery caused my spine to shift downward and left me in a great deal of pain and very limited mobility. I was eventually referred to Dr. Bhowmick at Chapel Hill. I cannot express my gratitude enough. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain the procedure, its associated risks, and the recovery process. I received a posterior and anterior instrumented spinal fusion with bone grafts at Chapel Hill, and thanks to this amazing surgeon and the team at Chapel Hill, I can walk again without limping. I am still experiencing some pain, but this was expected and thoroughly explained to me prior to the procedure. Thank you Dr. Bhowmick, I could not have had a better surgeon!
