Recently joined for the purpose of upping my game with a personal trainer. Bailey is really good & motivating. However, the air conditioning, or lack there of, is horrible! It is muggy and hot in there - particularly late in the day. The staff are aware but appears management doesnt care. Not a happy camper.

At the time of this review, orange county has instated an active indoor mask mandate as of over a month ago. If you are concerned about coronavirus, be aware about 30-40% of members at this location are completely unmasked, and staff does not seem to be enforcing the policy.

Great facility. Spencer, the manager, was very professional and welcomed me as a new member graciously and enthusiastically. Griffin acclimated me to the equipment and offered some great new exercises to get me started working out in this new facility. The two complimentary personal training and assessment sessions with him were great.

The entire staff adds to the overall experience. Amber, the manager, is amazing. Great customer service, attention to detail and very hands on when it come to maintaining the standard that Ive come to appreciate. Looking forward to the additional training areas they are currently adding as well as the group fitness classes restarting.

People not wearing masks and wearing them incorrectly so they just breathe out of their noses. If you suspended someones membership over not wearing a shirt you should be suspending peoples members for not wearing a mask. If you think paying a premium at O2 will get you a premium environment here you are wrong.Free weight section is half the size of Falconbridge location, coupled with people not wearing or wearing mask incorrectly its turned into an uncomfortable place to be for $50 a month.

Have been a member of O2 for three years, with as many as four O2 centers within easy driving distance at one time or another. This one is consistently my favorite because its been consistently well managed, unlike one center that ended up being closed (Farrington Road). Staff have strongly enforced Covid-19 protections, including immediate suspension of three violators, by whom I felt my health personally endangered. Im past 70, with one primary co-morbidity factor and two secondary ones. The floor is well-organized and a person can view all the machines and rooms in a very short period. I recommend this fitness center, especially to seniors.

I’ve been a member of o2 for nearly 6 years at the former Falconbridge location. As that club was closing its doors, and COVID opening theirs, I invested in a garage gym set up that has gotten me through. Amber is a friend from the former club, who made me aware of her new home at Elliott. She stayed in my ear about a return to mix up my workouts, and I’m happy to say I’m back!Friendly, professional and passionate about fitness, I’d recommend Amber and the Elliott Road O2 for your fitness journey!

My membership recently got suspended for not following the “dress code”. Not a single staff member or manager came up to me and informed me of this “rule” once. I just received an email saying my membership was suspended. Terrible communication and management. I would have liked to know that i was not following a “dress code” BEFORE my account was banned as i had no knowledge that a dress code existed. Usually most gyms allow guys to workout shirtless as it is a GYM after all and i am paying nearly 40 dollars a month to access it. Even so, I was never informed once to put my shirt back on and I had staff members pass by me frequently. Therefore I thought it was ok like any other normal person was. Wake up to find my membership suspended and i am now banned from all locations. Absolutely ridiculous terrible management and terrible communication skills.

Great fitness club in a convenient location. Carly Candell does an excellent job managing the club, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The club has almost completed a major renovation and Carly has made it all very tolerable for the members with little interruption to workouts and classes. She bends over backwards to help out in all areas of the club and is always willing to do anything extra the members ask of her. It’s been a joy to attend O2 Elliot Road over the past few years.

The gym is fine, I dont have any complaints. Some of the equipment is old and rusty, but works just fine. I mostly like coming here because its never too busy! Ive been going to this gym for eight months now, and its been subpar all the way through. The personal training staff are great and it feels like they are truly there for the client. However, the contract you sign to receive personal training is made to overcharge you and is predatory. They might mention the obscure process of canceling trainer sessions, but its very hard to find the page to cancel, and when you call the front desk most times a manager isnt present. The renovations they made included getting rid of a squat rack, leg press, hack squat, a cable cross with 8 stations, and maybe 20-30 other machines. Sure theyre installing a new turf field, but who is this gym for? In the midst of their identity crisis, my opinion is that all they want to do is take everyones money through predatory contracts and bad communication. Stay away unless you like to feel burned by a group of people you should be able to trust.

I came into O2 Fitness a couple of months ago to join with my Mama. She took my brother off her membership and put me in his place as an “add on”. When I was there the people who I spoke with told me that it was a month to month and that I could cancel my membership at any time since there was no commitment. I was trying to pay for May and cancel my “add on” because with my schedule and the location of the fitness I am unable to utilize the fitness center as much as I would like. I was told that I owe $74 when I thought it was $35 as an add on and that I cannot cancel my add on for a year and that they could change to a month to month but I would have to pay $24 for June when I was told that it was a month to month and no commitment. I spoke with the General Manager, La’ Crystal Kelly who has the absolute worse customer services skills. She is very rude and unprofessional. She was so unhelpful. She also threaten to call the police and have me removed when I spoke with her on May 24, 2016 because I said that what they were doing made “no blanking sense”. It does not make any sense. I was supposed to be an “add on” only. My mama was there as a witness because we both heard the same thing. I only signed up because I was told by your o2 fitness employees that it was an “add on”, month to month and that it was no commitment and I could cancel at any time. But after speaking to General Manager, La’ Crystal Kelly I never want anything to do with o2 Fitness. All I wanted to do is cancel my membership and pay the $35 that I was told when I was put on as an “add on”. I submitted this to a complaint on their website and left a message and I still have not received a response in regards to my complaint. I have since paid it off and terminated the membership but every few days I receive a random phone call from 02 Fitness telling me I still owe money on my membership and they cannot find a credit card and every time I talk to them I let them know that I have paid it off and have a receipt and have terminated my add on and that I did not have any credit card information on the account because it was an add on and I bring up my complaint and every time I get an awkward silence and the person telling me they will check into it and I never hear back from them but a few days later I get another random call from someone else with the same speech. It is a headache. I have submitted three complaints and no response just a random phone call about a bill that has been paid and a membership that has been terminated. I suggest that if you are looking to join a gym I would go to the YMCA. They have better customer service and they go up and beyond to assist their customers.

As a person who uses powerlifting style movements, o2 offers the best resources for my style of training out of any gym Ive used. Although the price is a little higher than other gym memberships Ive had (granted Ive been at the UNC gym and planet fitness) the facilities are much more worth the price. The staff is wonderful and provide a great experience for the guests, as well. Overall, I think its worthy of the money I pay and they provide me everything I could ask for out of a gym.

I had a very unfortunate experience today at O2 on Elliott Road in Chapel Hill. First, I will say that I won two different guest passes to O2 at a bridal show at Extraordinary Ventures in Chapel Hill some months ago. One was for one week. I used that one in September. The other was for one month, and I began using it at the beginning of December. My intention was to become a member of O2 at the beginning of January (after my one month pass had expired).Today, after my workout, the manager Chris accused me of somehow trying to get additional free gym time. He was extremely condescending and rude. I do not know how it would even be possible for me to have gotten unwarranted gym time, as the people at the front desk do not let you through without a pass. Nevertheless, I was accused and belittled. Thanks to Chriss rudeness, O2 Fitness has lost a potential member (me) and an existing member (my fiance). Having worked in customer service my entire life, I am well aware that the customer is NOT always right. However, this was an instance in which questions should have been asked before accusations were made.

I have been going to O2 Fitness for a number of years during which I had three different personal trainers. Outdated equipment and dirty locker room facilities. In addition the staff does not stick to their promotions of the month. Referred 3 members last year July 2016 to then employee at the time Rich Rodgers. Those members signed up and he told me that I would receive three free months of membership since I referred three members. Few months later I am told the months would be attached at the end of my year contract. In the end I was not guaranteed any free months and Rich was no longer working there. Only got one free month in the end and the staff including the manager Jaimie acted like they were doing me a favor. Yet, I was the one who provided them 3 customers.

DONT JOIN THIS GYM my wife cancelled her membership in July 2016. She carried in a written letter stating why she was canceling and was told that was all thats needed. Since then there have been several attempts to charge her for a membership she no longer has or used. There are much better gym in the area for half the price and that are honest in the business practices. Just today 8 months later they have tried to charge her again. Why not let your members know if we say your membership is cancelled, but its really not we are going to keep changing you that way your members will know up front that you have shady business practices.

I have been very disappointed with this gym since O2 bought out all the womens only memberships. Many of the group fitness classes are so overcrowded that they need to do a sign up sheet to even get in. That means getting to the gym a half hour early to sign in and wait for the class to start. Management did add more of the popular classes, but did not hire the same caliber of teacher, so it did not alleviate the problem. If you just do your own cardio and weights, the gym is good value for the money, but if you do group fitness classes, you might want to look somewhere else.

O2 fitness has to be one of the worst run and shadiest businesses I have ever encountered. The facilities arent very well taken care of either. My experiences are specifically with the DXT classes (used to be a CrossFit until they got caught lying about affiliation with the national organization). They will do anything to take your money and have essentially no concern for customer service, honesty, fairness, or transparency. They lied to our faces on many occasions about changes they promised to make to the gym, what we were getting for the rate we were charged, removed our head coach and replaced her without telling us, changed the programming, and when they were caught illegally claiming affiliation promised us refunds for overcharging us and then they never followed through. Do not go to this gym, save yourself a headache.

I was a member and an employee of this O2 location for about a year and dont have many good things to say about it. We had no manager at the gym for about 8 of those months with no communication from the top about anything, including when my immediate supervisor was fired out of the blue. The facility is shoddy at best, and I frequently asked for new and updated equipment without receiving any or an indication to if it the possibly for updates were even on the table.Im really currently disappointed with how my fiance is being treated while trying to get three months of membership fees back to her account. She signed up for a three month membership in April, was she told in July that her membership was up and that she would have to reapply to be allowed in the next time she came to the gym. However, her account was charged for August, September, and October, and weve been calling for two weeks just trying to get some information back; we havent heard back to this point.Quite frankly, I dont care to give O2 the time of day at this point. However, if this could help someone from making some of the mistakes we did, it was worth writing.

Mike Guajardo is my personal trainer at 02. He is a wonderful trainer, always challenging me, while at the same time paying careful attention and calling on his experience to consider my age (68), and my physical limitations. I have lumbar spinal stenosis, and Mike has done a great job at creating exercise routines that do not stress the stenosis, but that nonetheless help me build and maintain strength. The gym is equipped with free weights, machines, and has many classes, a few of which Ive taken and enjoyed. But mainly, I go to the gym 3 days a week for workouts with Mike, and I feel that this has improved my health and fitness substantially. What makes 02 Fitness really stand out is the quality and experience of their personal trainers.
