A wonderful surprise. This property was previously a mobile home park but is now an RV park that offers a beautiful and expansive spot to park. Ive never seen this much room between RV spaces in my entire full-time travels. Clean, well kept park. A friendly and helpful owner named Kevin is there to escort you to your spot which is helpful because of the mature trees and the winding path. With his help, its no problem even in a big rig like our 40 5th wheel.

The staff was very kind and prompt whenever I had any issues. If I had concerns or comments they were always eager to learn and help. If someone has given them a bad review then I bet anything that if they had just asked, it would have been solved. I hope maybe even to go back one day.

We stay for a month last fall while undergoing a stem cell transplant at Duke. The park has a beautiful setting and is very clean and well maintained. The people running it we very helpful and friendly. It is very conveniently located and has a homelike feel. We definitely would recommend this campground if you are going to be in the area.

We had a very lovely stay here but it was difficult to get our 43 RV around the roads both in and out of the park. We also were unable to get to the DirecTV satellite due to the trees, but we just enjoyed the forested area.

When I pulled in to this place at 9 pm a note said to register, I looked for a place for late registration/open sites and didn’t see it. I read everything, there was a phone number but I didn’t want to bother after business hours so I figured I’d settle up in the morning! At 9am I got a knock, the lady was very angry and rude that I’d “just plopped myself wherever I’d wanted” and demanded I register in 30 minutes. I told her I was trying to be considerate by not calling at 9 pm. I noted that checkin is 5 and I told her she should just clarify to late travelers until what time it’s appropriate to call and if there is a solid time cut off for late arrival to just show up just say so and I would gladly have called her or gone somewhere else. She said repeatedly, “I’m not going to change my paper just for you!” I told her I’ve gone lots of places with prices/open site listings where you just place money/info. She repeatedly said this is MY campsite and that’s not how I do things. I apologized for trying to be considerate by not calling at 9pm and bringing my business. $40 for no bath, no laundry and a rude manager.... lol, they should have paid me. Worst experience in my 2 months on the road! That’s saying af lot!

I cannot say enough nice things about this RV park! Quiet, beautiful wooded areas and clean. Easy access to Chapel Hill. The owners are the friendliest people and very helpful. My dad was terminally ill at UNC Chapel Hill and I needed a close place to stay. Springhill Park made a very difficult time much easier. They even arranged transport with one of the kind residents of the park who is also an Uber driver, when I could not drive. He dropped me off at the hospital for free saying he was doing the neighborly thing. They were a big blessing to me and my family.

Absolutely beautiful location. Wooded and shady. All sites are full hookups. Several are pull through. Numerous permanent residents. A wonderful playground for the kiddies. Free wi-fi with signal repeaters all through the park. No cable unless you are a long term or seasonal resident because the cable signal is scrambled and requires a box which is not provided to short term guests. The ONLY reason it doesnt get 5 stars is because there are NO BATHROOMS OR SHOWERS. We love it because its 3 miles from my sons house. 14 miles & 20 minutes to Duke Medical Center.

The park is very comfortable, happy with the site I got, wireless works well, lots of trees for shading. Owners/staff go out of their way to make sure everything is as expected. If something is needed I can call and theyre available any time of the day. Park is one of the nicest in the area, would recommend it to anyone.

This RV park is owned by a family, not a big corporation. This park has full hook-ups but no bathhouses. Most campers here are patients or patients families at the local hospitals. We stay here because it is quiet and peaceful. We love the ability to have the owner (Kevin) store our RV on property for us going back and forth between our home in WNC and visiting our son at NC State. Whenver wed decide to go for a visit, wed call Kevin and he would put our camper on our site. We are grateful to be able to use this campground.

I cant say enough great things about this park and its staff!!It all started with a courtesy call from Valarie to make sure we had correct directions and just to check up on us, we ran behind that morning and got there a few hours later than from what we originally said. When we arrived Valerie and Jerry were right there to greet us and checks us in. Provided a map of the area and gave wonderful suggestions on where to go and what to see. I really appreciated that Jerry escorted us to our site. The sites are in a wooded setting very spacious, well maintained, FHU and each site also has their own trash bin which is picked a couple of times a week. We sincerely enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back in the near future!!P.s. Valarie is great at keeping everyone posted with her sign of what day it is by the office!

Small and quiet park located in the country area outside of Chapel Hill. The park is heavily wooded, so don’t hope for satellite service. The roads and sites are gravel. Our site was a pull through and extremely long. The water pressure is on the low side and the power service is sketchy at best. 50A service is more like low-40s. The park offers wifi that mostly doesn’t work. I had problem updating email on their wifi. The park offers no cable service for people staying short term and we only picked up only a few channels on our powered antennae. The park is mostly long term and permanent residents. Overall we were disappointed with our stay here and will not return. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland.

This park is quiet and the sites are spacious. There is a lot of shade to be had, thankfully the park offers free cable tv in case you cant lock in a signal on your satellite. The owner and staff are always friendly and eager to help. You cant find a better place to call home in central NC. Whether you are here for a week or long term it is a beautiful, peaceful camp. They have 50/30 amp service at every site, high speed wifi, cable tv, an LP fill station at the park and trash pick up. The sites and roads are well maintained. The outdoor lighting is well done, bright enough to see and feel safe but not blinding so you can enjoy the night sky. Weve been staying here for years and have never had a problem or felt unsafe. Note: There is no bath house, camp store or laundry facility.
