The sales person at the counter is disrespectful and is not fit to the position. I asked him if there is discount on the item I was to buy , his answer is so disappointing” go Walmart you can get it for cheaper”. This is not the right answer , as a salesperson he should have won my mind with kind words so that I would buy the item with the price tagged. I also asked him where test the other item I bought , his answer was “ I don’t know figure it out .” Is he drunk? By the way , this is not my first assessment of him. I’ve seen him doing everyone I see him working at the counter by himself . There are other helpful salespeople/ cashier unlike him. One time he suggested , “ you are wearing an expensive eyeglass why you ask a discount .” Who is to ask me such question ? Is it his business ? His business is to serve customers. My comment followed after my visit on 08/18/2021 at around midday at Habitat store in 4311 Walney Rd, Chantilly VA. He should be placed somewhere in the back door , stocking or whatever job. Not fit to work with customers. Do your own secret evaluation of him. My observation is authentic and fair evaluation of him.

I went there once, and Im not gonna lie... Im happy with the purchase, Ive been in need of a desk for my crafts, with loads of drawer space, and I got it over there! I love it, it had little bit of scratches here and there, but figured Ill just use Minwax to do my restoration:) The small item area is little bit messy, but some people just pick things up and randomly place literally everywhere, so its not so much of the store issue but the customers. Altho the electronics section definitely needs a touch up, but I wont lower the rating for that, the customer service by both men I unfortunately dont know names of (Im sorry 😣) but especially the older Mister was extraordinary!I recommend this place definitely:)

This store used to be such a great place to go to donate or find items. They have a lot of things but reselling broken furniture for huge mark-ups and the non-marked price so they can quote you a price based on appearance at the checkout is sketchy. You definitely cant social distance here although they have tried its just too much in the space to achieve it.

Many awesome deals to be had. They offer deals on still usable used/ some leftover from a project construction stuff and home fixture goods to get your home in working order on a budget. Items were typically donated when trend followers remodeled their home and salvaged the old stuff, with also a wide selection of used decent furniture, and anything donated under the sun that fits through the door and might be resalable. The Chinese covid-19 has seemly depleted the construction project stuff as of my October 20 visit. Still there are great deals to be had on over 10 year old stereo components (it all sounds the same to me) and used furniture. It was a no luck for me on the used refrigerator for which I was hunting as selection is a very hit and miss situation, but all the profits go to a great charity while saving yourself over 75% on most items compared to new retail. Happy hunting.

Review №28

They get 2 stars rather than one, only because they seem to have good inventory. But it could not be more disorganized and difficult to find things. Piles on piles. And what you are looking for might be at the bottom of a disorganized pile in a crowded aisle and not even marked with a price. The disorganization and dirt make this a hard place to shop.

Ive been their customer since they started at the warehouse. The cashier back then always gave reasonable price with good attitude. This location, Ive been there more than 10 times and I can tell you, something is seriously wrong. One of the main issues is the price. They told me their goal is to price at 30% of retail, but their price is often 90%-150% retail price. Yes, some are more expensive than retail new. Today, there were 5 customer lined up before me. None of them purchased anything because the prices were ridiculous. And whenever customer refused to purchase, each time, the cashier rolled her eye and in loud voice how suck her customers are. My turn, I brought 5 things. Ended up purchasing 1. And this time, she thinks Im cheap. What the hell? Does she own the place or something?Your job is to move the items. You are just hoarding your stuff by pricing them so high. You got everything for free. Price correctly like it used to be. This lady cashier who works on the weekends, shes not only rude, but doesnt know how price anything and blames the customers. This rudeness by their staff need to end. I once heard them making fun of a customer who couldnt speak English fluently, right in front of his face. They do have good stuff. Just need better management and clear pricing on everything they sell. Their current pricing is, you take whatever to the front, and they price whatever is in their mind. So each time you go, even if you buy same stuff, price is always different.I will stop going this location and go to the other one, which has clear pricing on everything. Fire the cashiers, bring back the guy who used to work there at the warehouse. He moved A LOT of stuff.

Store manager ignored customers that were waiting at the checkout desk and kept on chatting with colleagues. They seem annoyed when you ask them about the price of an item. If you are considering donating you items to this store, please dont. Horrible customer service - I understand their limitations and goal - but this is not how you treat people who are trying to donate items. Just sold my couches for several hundred, and had it picked up after listing it on an app because they weren’t upfront reg their strict requirements about “curb front” (we do indeed have a curb - and full length windowsIf you had the decency and patience to talk further). It’s disrespectful, a waste of our family time, and not how you treat people willing to pay it forward. Good bye and good riddance. *this does not apply to other HFH offices which I’m sure are great, just the local office incompetence & confusion*

I dont think this stuff is priced to actually sell. I go in here often enough and the same inventory is sitting there gathering dust. Isnt the point of this place to move leftover material quickly so that more donations can be accepted? And... in turn, raise money for Habitat for Humanity? The prices in here are pretty outrageous for things that can easily be labeled junk. If they were priced to move, turnover and sales would be incredible. So disappointing.

Hands down this is one of, if not the best thrift store I have been to. There is always a great selection of items for sale. Generally I start in their electronics department which is always full of anything you can think of relating to electronics. Sound systems, televisions, radios, computers, game systems, peripherals, etc. and more. I usually try to stay third person in reviews like this but I really, really, would like to thank whoever organized the cable section, you have saved me so much time untangling cables. In that area there is a large selection of old and modern music formats, tons of books, lots of movies, video games and more. Attempting to keep this short, If you come in looking for something, no matter how specific the item is, I can almost guarantee you can find it. There is large sections of furniture, fixtures, appliances, automotive equipment, office supplies, media, building materials etc. etc. etc. Volunteers are always working to move stock and to assist anyone who may require it. As a closer, If you are in the DC area and are looking to purchase something at a low price and want to support a good cause, this is the place to shop.

EDIT: I just went there again on 28 April 2018, and their lighting and organization is *much* improved! Bright almost throughout the entire store, and they have much better shelving in many of the previously chaotic areas -- much more pleasant! There is still some room for improvement, but its a big change for the better! You never know what youll find here - and sometimes you really have to search to make it worthwhile. The showroom is poorly lit, and fairly cramped in places. If you are looking for more than furniture, it wouldnt hurt to bring a flashlight or even a headlamp, honestly. Ive used the light on my phone several times - and still wished I had more light.Their organization has improved a little over the time that Ive visited their store - but some areas are still fairly chaotic. The Manassas store is better lit, cleaner, and more organized -- but smaller than this place. If you dont mind digging for treasure, you can find some great stuff here - just be prepared with some light, and expect some narrow spaces, and occasional haphazard organization!
