If I could give zero stars I would.The best advice I can give is if you don’t want to pay extra money for ER visits to other vets for the mess ups Pender will cause your pet, then just avoid the whole place entirely.They are extremely unorganized, the front desk staff is rude and careless, and all they seem to care about is charging you extra money (even if it’s them fixing an issue they made).To top it off, they’ll mess up your pet and then blame it on you (and/or the ER Vet that you had to take your pet to to have their mess up fixed).When we took our puppy to the emergency vet, we found out he had an infection in his ears (due to Pender) and when Pender found out, they denied denied denied that that was ever the case and actually asked us what vet we had seen at the ER.. almost as if to confront them. Super childish.Dr. Kelsey Gerbig at Pender came out to talk with us and figure out was going on and was very sympathetic to our frustrations. However, she seems to be the only good one there and you have to go through a lot of bullsh*t to get to her.Luckily we found another vet who is AMAZING and is currently working with us to fix everything Pender messed up with our puppy.Don’t go here. Please.

Had a check up for my dog 6 months ago. Great service. I reached out via email to schedule his next. Was told Id have one scheduled in 1 business day. That was two weeks ago. Reached out again and got no response. I also never got the results of a fecal test from his first exam. This place came highly recommended but I cant see the hype if I cant get an appointment or professional service. Id recommend going somewhere else until they get scheduling tuned up.**UPDATE** 4/23Pender has finally contacted me on the matter and resolved the issue of the appointment. However its worth noting that this happened after the above review was posted.**UPDATE 5/1**We were able to see them, finally, after the whole situation was resolved. The missing decal exam was done again at no extra charge. The staff was willing to see us late after closing. Overall the care was great and so was the service.In closing, things started off rocky but the business showed great effort in making things right. My advice is to call to schedule and make sure you get results for tests being conducted. One thing to note here as well is that they dont take pet insurance.

If you are looking to get your Dobie ears cropped Dr. Johnson is the person you want to see ! Very professional and Dr Johnson was very informative on the after care for the pups. Now my pups ears are healing perfectly fine ! For the price it was reasonable!

The staff was very friendly the facility was very clean and organized. I felt very confident that our family pet was in good hands and would be taken care of and not at risk of any danger. The Dr. briefed me before and after the surgery which was a success. The cost was extremely reasonable. It was far from my home but worth the trip. Thanks Pender Veterinary.

Our senior dog recently developed an ear infection. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next morning. We had a very brief wait in the parking lot before the tech came out to pick up my dog. The vet that evaluated my dog was not our regular vet but you would never know. He gave her a thorough check, made clear suggestions for care and provided instructions on how to make medicating my dog easier for both of us. Pender has always provided excellent care to all my dogs!

From scheduling the ear crop appointment with Dr. Mark Johnson, from being received by Sharon upon arrival, the overall experience was very pleasant. I really appreciate how responsive Dr. Johnson was after reaching out to him with questions, post surgery. It was certainly worth the slightly over an hour drive to their location in Chantilly, VA. Thank you for taking care of Mocha (Cane Corso). I look forward to seeing the final ear crop result and share the pictures with the Pender Vet team!

I have brought everyone of my pets to Pender Vet for 35 years. They are so caring, gentle, reassuring and professional. You never feel rushed and they answer all of your questions. We would never think of taking our animals anywhere else. Thank you, Pender for all of your help with our beloved, fury family members!

During the pandemic they are taking precaution and have worked out a great system to curbside care. I feel safe taking my pet to Pender and we get the same great service and care. This way everyone stays safe including the Drs and pets. Love love love Pender.

Pender was extremely professional and organized with their COVID procedure. I arrived and parked in a numbered spot so the technicians knew where to go to pick up my pet. Parking spots were separated by cones so they were distanced from each other, and everyone wore masks. I waited in my car during the appointment, and the doctor called me directly to discuss her findings. My pet seemed happy and comfortable when they brought him back out to me. I have a Greyhound, and they were experienced in their special medical needs. The only downfall is that the exam fee is $144, but I expected the expense because it is an emergency hospital.

Everyone is kind there but I remember 1 year or two years ago they were hiring and I had a working interview for 4 hours and should’ve been paid. Kept calling and asking If I’m supposed to get paid. They kept leaving notes for the manager to call me and never received a call PLUS they called a reference of mine when wanting to tell me if I got hired or not, the reference gave them my number and they never called me after to let me know what they decided. I recently passed by their building and instantly remembered that I was supposed to review them and here I am now :).

Dr Johnson is the absolute best! He takes his time to go over everything. Such a delightful caring gentleman. He cropped my dobie’s ears and does a wonderful job!!!

As expected, Pender went above and beyond to ensure my pups knee surgery went well. Just wish they had frequent flyer miles type of deal. :) Thanks Pender for always being there for my furry & scaley friends!! -V

Dr. Voell is a wonderfully caring and incredibly competent doctor. We are very thankful to Pender staff and Dr. Voell for helping us through a very difficult time with our 14 year old German Shepherd. We cannot say thank you enough.

My senior dog went in for her declaw bc it grew to long for us to cut. She also got treated for an ear infection. She apparently picked up something from one the other dogs according to the emergency hospital we took her to, she died today (3 weeks later) from severe lung issues and breathing difficulties.

Pender Vet is amazing!!! So impressed with how they handled our recent well check for our dog Rosie! I felt super safe driving COVID and got top notch care and attention. Thank you Pender for being awesome!!!! 😁😁😁

Best place to bring your fur babies. I love the curbside service offered since the coronavirus pandemic. They do an exceptional job. Dr. Flanary is our regular vet here & he has helped us through some challenging times with really great outcomes. I have liter mate Dobermans that we bring here, & a asthmatic cat. Everyone is happy & healthy thanks to the amazing care.

Hands down, best vet I’ve been to in the area. I’ve taken my cat, rabbit and dogs there. Outstanding service and expertise. Highly recommend!

Doctors and techs are the best anywhere. They have taken excellent, caring, care of my dogs over the 25 years of coming here.

Wonderful place - not necessarily a good value in terms of cost BUT I wouldn’t want to cut corners on the care of a member of my family and I can truly say that leaving our exceedingly challenging German Shepherd in such good hands means that I’m not worrying about him when I’m gone - he is well taken care of, safe and sound - which for me is priceless! I’ll keep coming back.

2nd year in a row: They took great care of our cat, who is not the tamest!Dr. Hendrickson is fabulous with both the cat and us humans. ALL of the other technicians were also fantastic.Kitten got her checkup, shots, and then (1 year ago) had to have a second appointment to get some more teeth removed. Obviously that was stressful for everyone involved, but everything turned out fine. They were very nice to her and provided a high level of medical care.

Wish I could leave no stars at all. I am not impressed with this place. It was our first time AlMOST visit... The staff in front desk is careless. I was trying to explain some details about my dog (food, medication...) but I got feeling they didnt even listen. I feel like I was bothering them... The girl was keep yawning.. One more crazy dog owner... Ok, I got it. after they called runner, young girl who showed up to pick up our girl. She showed up all prepared with they standard leash, they refused to use ours. She put a choker on my dog neck and start pulling her. My dog started to cough... But she was still trying to pull!!! I had to ask her to stop! I am sorry but that didnt look right to me, you can call me crazy dog owner. I went to the car, sat and thought for a minute, went back and picked my baby. I couldnt leave her there. Please do your research and read reviews.

I’m shocked by the single review being so horrible. My dog loves it here, and they’re always very attentive and take good care of her.
