I want to thank employee Stacey R. I am a fairly new customer after my bank I used for a very long time, closed in my town, Regions and with no notice, I was in need of a new bank. Anyway having hardship over 20 years my only daughter, 2 organs transplants going blind etc. I had to relocate my auto deposits and I over drew my account. She helped me out Tuesday, Aug 31st, over the phone. I am at ease and I will be in the positive by October, thanks to Stacey R doing an excellent job and good public social skills. Give her an award!! There are very few professionals today whom even care and cystomers or about their own secure jobs. To many being paid to work sit in their own homes. Stacey did her job today and did it 5*. I again thank her very very very much.

I was having problems establishing an auto payment schedule for an existing loan. I was able to speak with Greg when the initial set up which he did not do, did not work. He explained the problem and walked me through setting up the schedule and offered to go beyond to ensure things ran smoothly. He thought perhaps the timeframe was too short and would check the outcome on the following Monday. He gave me his personal number for contact and this is a true personal touch for any client. We spoke today and was able to confirm why it didnt take place and made me feel better about utilizing the online procedure in the future. Kudos for people like Greg who does not mind taking the time to spend with older and less technical skilled persons. Patience is a virtue and a good way to keep growing your clientele. Thank you.

I spoke with Greg a few minutes ago regarding how to set up a transfer from my external account to pay my VISA monthly bill. He was EXCELLENT!!! He walked me through, offered to stay on the line while I did the process. He walked me through step by step. Amazing customer service!!! I felt so comfortable and not rushed while I was opening different screens on my phone. Greg was very patient, kind, respectful and easy to talk to. He KNOWS HIS STUFF!!! Generally, I bank with Chase as I used to live in the Chicago-land area and they were the most efficient as far as being able to find one anywhere, anytime you needed. When I moved back to Champaign several years ago, I sought out a personal loan from UICC in order to consolidate some debts and boost my credit. They made the entire process feel quick, efficient, and painless and provided wonderful customer service while doing so. Although I have since paid off that loan, I have kept a savings account going through them because I genuinely enjoy doing business there, and may plan to switch over completely in the future.

I had accounts hacked. U if I credit union went above and beyond to secure $2,500 of my funds the hacker attempted to put on a gift card. Their response was immediate and saved me from losing any money.

The credit union is fine for basic checking and savings transactions, but they cannot be trusted to handle anything beyond that. Im refinancing a mortgage (not with the credit union) and found that even though I had requested they close my home equity line of credit, they just zeroed it out. I asked to close it, they sent me a form, I sent it back and was finally told after a week of calling and emailing that it would take *six weeks* to process. Fortunately, the underwriters for the mortgage company agreed to approve my refi application without waiting for the document. Two years ago when I bought the place Im refinancing, I needed to transfer money from a brokerage account into my money market account. Even thought I put the *specific account number* onto the form I filled out, the person who processed it decided that I must have meant my share draft account and transferred it to that account instead. At least that only took an extra 24 hours, but I was trying close in 21 days because I had to be out of my old place and I was abroad at the time so I had to deal with three time zones (California, Illinois, and Spain). I saw another review that said they were waiting on a manager--good luck. Ive asked to speak to the manager for that department via phone and via email several times over the past couple of days and the front line staff are like a protective wall. My next step will be to file a formal complaint against the credit union.

I applied to refinance my mortgage at night, and the first thing that was completed the next morning was a hard pull on my credit. Rather than doing a soft pull or reaching out to me to establish rapport and see if refinancing was a good option for me, a hard pull was immediately completed, and that impacts my credit score.Doing a hard credit pull is part of a mortgage or refinance - I get that. But for that to be the first thing that is done without communicating with me to see if refinancing is a good option for me does not sit well with me. That, combined with not communicating back since I expressed my concern about the credit pull this morning puts a very sour taste in my mouth towards a place I have been a member of for years.07/22/2020 Update:I received a follow up email later on the day, however my issue with the bank was never addressed. I was told it was an authorized credit pull, which is accurate - pulling credit is part of a mortgage. My issue was the hard pull was completed before speaking to go over expectations. Also included in the response was refinances are taking close to 60 days to get to underwriting - that’s expectation setting. Had that been done first without a credit pull, my response would have been, “No worries. That is longer than I want this process to take so I will use another lender.” But instead the response after I raised my concern was effectively, “You authorized the pull 🤷‍♂️.” To their credit, they offered to reach out to the credit bureau’s compliance department, which was a nice gesture. A response from management acknowledging my issue would have been nice, but at this point that has yet to happen. Even if that were to happen, my feelings towards UICCU would not change because this was some of the poorest listening & customer service I’ve experienced, & I am in the process of changing banks.

I made 12 calls and because it’s Sunday apparently no one can help me at all simply unblock my account. Now stuck at a gas station for hours. Without getting into too many specific details, I recently had a horrible experience with the mortgage department. They had awful communication skills, didn’t listen to me, made assumptions about what I wanted to do, and gave me false information multiple times. When I reached out to the VP of customer experience, she seemed concerned but then passed me on to the Assistant VP of mortgage who only tried to justify the awful experience even though he lacked details and then never responded when I pointed out the misinformation that was given to me (even offered to share the emails I had been given the bad information). I would never recommend to anyone based on the awful experience I had and their lack of accountability.

He was so easy to work with and answered all of our questions. The home buying process can be complex, scary, and long but Phil made sure that is was seamless. I would recommend Phil, and the credit union team, over and over.

The first street branch location has stolen my money. I made a deposit to this location for a shared branch 18 days ago and it was lost in the void. I have yet to hear an explanation that makes one iota of sense. Only that it will be resolved in five working days. IT HAS NOT. My account shows a deposit and a subsequent void of this transaction. I have spoken to 5 different representatives to no avail. Do not use!

This bank is going down hill. It seems like every month it’s something and you cannot count on the staff to simply just do there job. Called to get my card blocked on Friday so that I can have some time to look for it. The guy told me to call back Monday to get it reactivated if I find it. Monday is here and I find out he has deactivated my card. Spoke to one representative and actives like she could care less. Another one told me I should have called on Saturday and another one told me my card was active. I have had an account there since I was 15. Will definitely be closing my account. I have never dealt with such inconsistent, careless, rude, unprofessional people in my life. Still have not received a call back from the manager. Left a message at 9:15a, it’s now almost 1pm. SMH

They are not that bad albeit not terrific. I did notice that the quality of service might have declined over 15 years or so. I got all my cars financed except for the current one. Speaking of a customer service, the first rep for my car I dealt with was horrible. People who helped for the second and the third as well as my first, second and third motorcycles were nice.I need to change the rating. I am trying to purchase a motorcycle with a loan. It has never taken this long. I admit that I have been busy, and the loan officer (Ms. Liz Fair) was out of office for a few days. I think I should get information w/o having to ask her going back and forth. I asked somebody else to take over, and he (Garvin Gerdes) changes the term from 72 months to 63 months, asks me for a bill of sale, which they have, and does not answer my question on when the payment starts. I am looking for some other places right now.An update on Dec. 10, 2020. I contacted Ms. Fair and major issues were corrected. So I went ahead. Not a very good idea. When I applied, I believe I chose an automatic payment although not 100% sure. The first payment was supposed to be Nov. 28. And I get a message yesterday (DEc. 9, 2020) that *I* have not made a payment. And Garvin Gerdes very shamelessly asked me that *I* needed to do the setup. Excuse me? I have had a car loan with them three times before. He wrote things have changed, but they should have tol customers at the time of loan application. Never been in such a situation. Garvin is incompetent and absolutely useless.

I have had it with this place! We currently have two vehicle loans with them and have had nothing but problems on THEIR end. They constantly make errors and are frankly unapologetic for THEIR mistakes. I’m tired of calling multiple times a year to have my loans corrected. Then I’m slapped with late fees (which they rightfully waive), false loan delinquency statements, and/or reports to the credit bureau FOR THEIR ERRORS.I would not recommend their loan servicing to anyone nor would I ever consider getting another loan with them (or any other service for that matter). I am highly disappointed and regret ever getting loans with them in the first place!

If you are an UIUC international student, please, read that CAREFULLY.DO NOT open an account at the U of I credit union. I know that it seems to be very convenient to open your account there, since they have a branch on campus, but you should rather take the time to open an account elsewhere in town. Down the road,you will spare yourself several headaches with them.They are absolutely not professional nor qualified. If you are an international student you WILL struggle to deal with them once abroad.They make an incredible amount of mistakes that ends up costing money to customers. No traceability... and worst than everything, when something wrong happens, they team up to cover up and hide the mistake!!!! They even create narratives to cope with their lack of care, and you will never get your rights with them. They do operations on the customers account without taking his/her consent. They smile, and even will tell you stories, but if an issue happens you lose YOUR money. Here is ONE of the bad things that happened to me: Every month I manually transfer money from my savings to my credit card account to pay back my credit debt ( about $25 due monthly).Recently, I noticed that money had been transfered from my saving account ,without my consent, to my credit card account . When I complained about that, I had to deal alternatively which 2 incompetent employees before the manager of the branch reached out to me and put up a narrative to excuse the mistake ( she of course did not call it so), and told me the money would be transfered back to my saving account. A month later... still no money transfered back. I complained again... again she had an explaination, but this time the following day... my money was on my account! But... after that ,I realised at the time I had to make my monthly payment for my debt, that my monthly payment due for the credit card was higher for $25 due to about $70, and the deadline to make the payment had been changed...At this point, I do not know what I am paying exactly!Also, renewing a bank card if you are abroad or transfering money is ridiculously complicated...I have lived in different countries, and U of I credit union ( or whatever they call it ) is, by far, offering the worst services.Please, if you are an international student take my words into account before running to their office on campus...

Consumer beware. Im trying to close out my deceased husbands estate. When UICCU learned that there were no funds in the estate to pay the balance on his (his alone) credit card, they decided that they would not release my car title (when I pay it off) until his credit card is paid as well. Including all interest, fees, and penalties. This is NOT legal in the State of Illinois.Apparently I need to hire an attorney.

Recently I received a notification from the credit union that my address had changed to Niles. I took the letter in and said this is false information on the letter and that I do not live in Niles. The Credit Union not only fixed the issue and apologized but has since treated me very well and been a solid bank/credit union to be a member of. THANK YOU!!
