I went to schedule an appointment to see if I have cervical cancer and they made it a month out so I waited that month and then the day of my appointment they told me they had to reschedule because the doctor was leaving early and the next available appointment isnt until the following month. Absolutely disgusting. They do not care about you or your health.

I woke up sick two days before a already scheduled appointment so I called asking if I could come in early, the girl I talked to acted as though it was a Absurd request because of my flu symptoms while COVID is a active threat to the public. She transferred me to the triage nurse so I could leave a voicemail and I did and when she called me back, I was told I have to get tested for Covid before I could be seen even if I wear a mask, and if I don’t get tested I have to wait 20 days to be seen. I went to three different places to try to get tested and wasn’t able to, I’m now looking for a new OB!! When I expressed my dissatisfaction I was told “ I’m sorry you feel that way”.

I went here for my pregnancy as it’s closer to home than Olympia is. I had read all the comments about feeling rushed and not listened too by the doctors and I thought oh well, we will give it a try. After all, this is my third pregnancy and nothing was ever wrong with my first two. So first I had a Pap smear which was fine but I found out that I had abnormal cells on my cervix. An email was sent telling me we would talk about it at my next appointment. It was never discussed beyond that. I’d see my doctors for about 2 minutes every appointment and anytime I had a complaint I was told I just need to drink more water. I switched doctors to Olympia OB at 26 weeks. In my very first visit they drew blood, re did my pap to see if there was any change along with gave me options if it comes back irregular again. Did a breast exam. Test me for dilation, and the doctors at Olympia we’re shocked more testing wasn’t done. And then I found out I have anemia and my glucose came back high. Also in my 20 week ultrasound at Centralia they couldn’t see my baby’s lips or nose, and never offered to come back and recheck. I was offered to have that ultrasound redone in Olympia. I guess my point was I felt more like just another paycheck at Centralia. I wasn’t impressed.

Terrible, terrible Staff. The receptionist was not only rude but made anyone else she dealt with just as miserable. Perhaps a job that doesnt require customer service would be a better choice for this woman. My daughter made an appointment for a wellness check up with a few tests. At first the receptionist explained that our insurance did not cover the wellness check up or a PAP, WRONG, then it was your insurance is inactive, WRONG. In my attempt to allow my daughter to see a medical provider and bypass the insurance confusion, I tried to pay for my daughters appointment. The receptionist refused to take my payment, her excuse? I dont talk to anyone but insurance companies. The Providence Womens Center must be doing very well to treat prospective patients so disrespectful. Shame on the HR Department for not being able to find qualified staff to service the people that actually pay their salaries!

This is going to be long, but I sincerely hope it helps someone else not go through what I went through.First, we will start out with the small stuff. During my intake appointment for my pregnancy, I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time in an empty lobby with no real explanation as to why. It was extremely early in the morning and there was absolutely no one in there. Its fine, I can deal with waiting. Finally get taken into the back to see the nurse, who does a quick pregnancy test. I was told it was a faint but definitely positive test. Now I am anxious because my at home tests were dark so now I am thinking the worst. I get sent for blood work and I am told that I will have my results by that afternoon. I only received partial results that afternoon, with the ones most pregnancy related not showing up until almost a week later.Onto the more serious stuff. I started spotting at 6 weeks and I called the OB. I was told to wait it out. This went on for about a week, with each time being told to wait it out. When it turned into more of a bleed at 8 weeks, I called and was told that if I was still bleeding in 24 hours, then call back. The bleeding worsened throughout the day and I called back and told them I really feel like I need to be seen because something is very wrong. They reluctantly set up an appointment and I went in with my husband. No pelvic exam was done that day. My bleeding was not checked out. I was given a very quick and impersonal transvaginal ultrasound where I was told your baby is still there. I see no bleeding in your uterus. It is too early for a good ultrasound. First things first, my dates were exact and when I tried to say anything, I was cut off, a few jokes were said, and I was sent on my way without any further information about the bleeding, what could be causing it, or my quite obvious threatened miscarriage. Truth be told, he took measurements that day and I was measuring at 6 weeks 2 days, which I only know because I saw the screen after all was said and done. We were barely shown the screen before we were shoved out of the office and told to go get blood drawn. That night, I received results (partial again) that indicated my progesterone was low. I expected a call from the office the next day to further discuss what may be happening with my pregnancy, though I already knew what this implicated when combined with measuring so far behind. I never received the phone call I thought I would. I was still bleeding. I mentally prepared and used google to learn what to expect during a miscarriage because my OB had failed to give me this information. My bleeding turned into something more serious Saturday afternoon and I was sent to the ER. There, I received a full work up and much better bedside manner. They did a thorough exam and ultrasound. They confirmed my miscarriage and the stress lifted because, as much as I had wanted this pregnancy, I at least had answers now. Someone had finally done something to help me and give me those answers. I was no longer brushed off or treated like I was overreacting. I wasnt rushed off and told youre still pregnant.I tell my full story to get the point across that my care was dismissive and rushed. My concerns and fears were not addressed and I was brushed off from the moment I started expressing fears when I was spotting, something I have never done in pregnancy. I am educated. I know they could not have saved my pregnancy. What I needed was understanding, empathy, and honesty. I needed someone to hold my hand and honestly tell me that it looked like I was going to miscarry then give me the information related to that. I didnt need jokes. I didnt need to be rushed off with false hope, prolonging my pain. I shouldnt have had to use Dr. Google to help me determine on my own that I was having a miscarriage and what I should do if and when that happens.I would never suggest to anyone to go here. I have never had a miscarriage. The bedside manner and humanistic care of pregnant women was garbage.

First, go somewhere else if your not pregnant! I and my daughters went there and we were half hour early before our appointments or even more. You sit and wait while others (pregnant moms) come in after you and are called before you. I know they have to pee but so do the rest of us since its an hour away! My one daughter was there for 2 hours waiting while others were taken in & out before she was called! Once you are in you are rushed! There might be a pregnant woman waiting that needs more time than you apparently! Very poor service! NEVER AGAIN!

Enjoy the essay I wrote about my experience.I had a referral sent over to get an iud put in. I never received a call to schedule an appointment, but when I called to get an update on my referral I was told that I was ready to be scheduled, they just hadn’t gotten around to me yet (this was three weeks after my referral was sent out). I called three times to verify that I was getting the iud put in at this appointment. Three times. Upon my arrival, and after waiting 30 minutes past my appointment in the waiting room, I was called back only to find out that my provider would not be able to do the placement of the iud because my insurance (both of them) had not been sent a request for authorization. Apparently after three calls to clarify that the placement of my iud would be that day, there was still a misunderstanding and my appointment was a consultation. Fine. I can put up with that, I understand that mistakes happen. I was informed that my insurance would be contacted for authorization and then I would get a call to schedule. Two weeks go by and I still haven’t received a call. After I call the office to get an update I find out that they tried to contact my insurance, but couldn’t get through to them. The number that the clinic called to reach my insurance wasn’t even close to any of the numbers on my insurance card THAT WAS SCANNED INTO MY CHART. So I read them the number on my card for both pre-authorizations and general questions. Two more weeks go by and I call again. I was told my insurance had not been contacted yet because the clinic had been “too busy to call”. I have been waiting for two months to get my iud. Y’all I work for a medical clinic. I understand the process of contacting insurances. It’s not the best of fun, but it most definitely isn’t difficult. The least they could have done is at least call me and let me know that I wasn’t forgotten about. It was ridiculous. I called and had my pcp send a referral to a different clinic. Dr. Mvundura is a good doctor, but the clinic that he works at is highly unprofessional. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If you want to get the run around, this is your place. If you just want to get your business done and over with, don’t waste your time coming here.

This clinic has the worst office staff in the world. They are nice & friendly at quick meetings, but just hope you dont need them to do anything. Like say, fax a prescription properly. I fought back and forth for literally 6 hours on the phone with the office staff to get my prescription faxed where I needed it to go (probably 10 phone calls). They closed at 4pm and I needed the rx asap since I was heading out of the country the next day. I walked into the office at 3:56, my phone ringing in my ear to them, as I saw them turn the phones off and send me to voicemail!! As I approached the counter, I was shown the fax they sent.... To the wrong #, despite verbally giving it to them 3(!) times over the phone that day! I then (again) requested she write Urgent on it as directed by my pharmacist, and (after being told she had) saw the paper with nothing of the sort on the cover sheet. She them informed me she was unable to write the word Urgent and that only doctors could.... Who had all already left for the day. Long story short, it never got filled and I went on my trip without my medication. Oh, I later googled the rx and there was a warning for use while pregnant... Nothing of which Dr. Than had discussed with me. I wouldnt have taken it anyway, saved the huge headache and the full day I lost to fighting on the phone and driving pharmacy to office. The other times I have been to this office (3 mos) the office visits have been rushed. I left without a shot I was supposed to get once (but turned around and reminded them), left without my checkout paperwork another time, and was not given something at the end of my visit that I was supposed to get taken care of elsewhere. I will not be back to Providence.

I don’t think this place even deserves 1 star. Terrible bed side manner, especially after losing my baby. The first thing out of the drs mouth was to ask what birth control I wanted?! Um no. The follow up after the miscarriage lasted all of 10 minutes with no counseling of what to expect or when to try again or anything. Never going here again.

The last appoint I had was at 11:30 am, I arrived 10 minutes early, I was taken in to be seen at 11:55 am. I watched 3 people arrive after me and go back before me (and Im not counting anyone who was taken in before my actual appt. time of 11:30 am) 2 of those people came out of their appt. before I was taken back. After I was taken back to the room and had my weight, bp, etc. checked I sat there for another 15 minutes before someone came in (12:15 pm). In my appointment no matter how much I said I CAN NOT take birth control, I kept being told thats probably what Im going to have to do. I had to list all birth control Ive taken since I was 16 (thats 13 years ago) to clarify why I cant take it and Ive tried. I was literally told Well youre going to have to weigh your options. So basically my options are continue to be in pain or have my hormones extremely unbalanced. Which come to find out there is other options besides taking birth control but thats apparently not allowed to be my first option. Now lets fast forward. I had an ultrasound done and I have a cyst which is bleeding and most likely the source of my pain, I was advised to do a check up in 6 months to see if its healed (this pain has been happening for almost 4 years) which means if it is the source of the pain its not going to just heal and Woohoo! Im all better. I was then instructed if I was in pain I should go to my doctor and have them refer me to a pain clinic. I asked what am I supposed to do if I dont want to take pain medication. I was then informed, Well you could have the cyst removed. So HOLD ON you recommend pain medication FIRST??? THEN you offer an actual solution to my problem? Im in the process of finding a different clinic. This whole thing has really pissed me off.

I absolutely love Centralia Womens Center! I have gone through this office with both my pregnancies the first with Dr. Mvundura and the second with Dr. Scalici. Both were amazing and super compassionate. In fact when I was scheduled to have my cesarean the birthing center was overbooked by mothers who had gone I to labor over night so Dr. Scalici went out of her way and got me booked in Olympia and drove up there to deliver my baby. The office can be overcrowded and sometimes you have to wait longer than expected but as said by others these are baby doctors and most of the time babies dont stick to a schedule. Its worth the wait so have patients. The nurse, medical assistants and receptionists are also wonderful.

Had an appointment today at 8:10 a.m. and then got told that the doctors are running late and would not be until 8:30. Then got told that it could be 9 to 9:30. By that time the lobby is full of people. I did not get an apology - nothing. I cancelled my appointment and said that my time is just as valuable as theirs. I totally dislike those signs that say if you are 10 min late for your apt then you could be charged for missing your appointment Then I asked for my co-pay back and I got told that she would have to talk to her biller! What the heck! It was like there were going to keep it because I chose to cancell my appointment that was suppossed to be 45 minutes ago! Will not ever go back!
