I am pleased with the way Cascade West is coping with the Covid situation. Their staff have always given my pets good care in the past and that hasnt changed because of Covid 19. I wont go anywhere else for pet care.

Love this place and the people that work there. A very courteous and professional facility. I had to take my cat Harley in for an abscess that formed behind his ear. He is part Ferrell and they did very well with him. They took things slow and were very patient with him. Everything went great! Sad to say I’m down to my last pet. Had have several pets that I have taken to them for help. I have never had any type of issue with any of the staff.

When my Chester was sick, they figured it out quickly and treated him so that he got better. They were there no matter what we needed for him or if we had questions about his progress. They have always been wonderful with both our dogs. Highly recommend to anyone looking a wonderful , trustworthy place to have their pets treated.

Have taken my pet pals to Cascade West for almost 10 years now for quality, compassionate care. All questions answered in a patient and detailed manner no matter who you speak to. Entire staff works as a team to make a good start to finish visit for pet and pet parent.

Office staff was very helpful and got the service to me in short order. Vet that answered the call was new to me but very efficient and skilled. Over all a very good experience as i have come to expect and appreciate from this clinic. I would strongly recommend them to anyone in need of a vet.

Wonder staff. Very friendly. They arent just there to make money, they care about each and every pet and strive at helping your fur babies. I could of lost my fur baby. They did everything they could to save her life, and did just that. They are reasonable price and always ask and go over the findings and bill before they charge you to see if you can afford it. Dr. Chris Affeldt is a great veterinarian. I am always impressed with the care and thoroughness of his exams. The horses dont react badly because of the care they receive from him. I love how he gives you all the information on what he has discovered and the treatment plan. We have to drive 1.5 hours just to see him and it is well worth the drive.

Our choice for our fur babies vet. They take amazing care of our 15 yr old dog and our kittens (one 15 month old and two 4 month olds)

We bring our cattle since we don’t have a large animal vet in our area. Cascade West has always been great to work with. Every vet has been knowledgeable on cattle issues and so easy to talk with. Good to our animals and good to us!

My husband and I value AND trust Cascade West. Not only do they take great care of our livestock when in need (they even do farm calls!!), they are so very wonderful in caring for our house-centric family members!

I have the upmost respect for the veterinarians and most of the staff...that being said, if you have an emergency best start looking elsewhere to get in...There was a time when most vet clinics saved at least 5 spots just for emergencies...Theres nothing more frustrating than to have an emergency with one of your pets and your told theyAre booked out 3 weeks...try an emergency clinic, or another vet...or call early everyday to see if theres a cancellation, and in the meantime hope and pray your pet survives...one of my pets didnt survive and died before I could get him in to see anyone...totally unacceptable and heartwreching...Now I am faced with another emergency and told once again they are booked for 3 weeks, to try the emergency clinic or call everyday to see if theres a cancellation...or other vet clinics...I hope things will change in the future...emergencies cant wait...there should be spots left open for our pets!!!

I’ve had many of my animals seen at CWVH and have always been happy with their service. The doctors are great at explaining the pros and cons of any procedures and I know they have my pets best interest in my mind.

This was my first time using Cascade West as we are new in the area and I wanted to get to know the local horse vet in case I needed someone in a hurry. Dr. Afeldt arrived on time, was personable and took great care in getting to know two of my horses. I anticipate a productive relationship in the years to come.

I have been a client of Cascade West for 26yrs. The greatest points are Amy (Front end Mgr) Vicki (Practice Mgr), ALL of the Vets & most of the Techs as well as MOST of the reception staff! Yes, they are more expensive than most practices but well WORTH IT; No, they no longer have an after-hours clinic but I can see why and hope it returns SOON. THERE was a situation where I couldnt afford the meds needed for my senior dog and they went all out with looking for meds that were already dispensed and I sooo appreciated that they cared enough to look around for some! Definitely a 10⭐ if I could put it I would!

Called to double check the time of my dogs appointment before heading there, to be sure to be on time. Was instead put on hold in response and kept on hold until PAST our appointment time, then told we couldnt come in because we were now late, and finally was hurriedly prescribed antibiotics over the phone by a vet after being treated disrespectfully by the front desk about being late when SHE had kept me on hold for 40 minutes past the appointment time I had inquired about. Will be finding a better veterinarians office that will give myself and our pets the correct respect, time, and care they deserve.

I do like everyone there, the vet assistants are awesome and I would recommend my friends family there. The only complaint I have is that when my cat was attacked by a dog and seriously injured I had to take her to fords prairie vet clinic. End result not all of her injuries were addressed and theres a reason I dont want to go to fords prairie. I know this last year going on 2 has been difficult but I was extremely disappointed I couldnt bring her to cascade. I have been with them since they were Macomber weselius and adfelt and the first time I had an emergency and was turned away

I have been repeatedly very pleased with Cascade West veterinary. The staff are awesome: professional, pleasant, and willing to problem solve to ensure that my pets get the best care at a reasonable price.

I brought my horse in to see Dr. Radha, this is the second time she has attended to my horse. She is so very thorough. I’ve never had a vet check all over for a routine dental appointment. She even checked for pulses in his feet. I have been a client at Cascade for nearly 20 years and appreciate them so much!One time my horse was colicking and would not get out of the trailer it was an after hours emergency and the on call was Dr. Raminsky (I think that’s her name). She had to treat him in the trailer after our failed attempts to get him out. She saved his life.

Always takes great care of all of my animals. Very fair pricing and I know I can trust any of the vets with my animals. I have dogs, a cat, cows and horses, and they treat them all. I highly recommend this vet! They do farm calls or you can haul to their facility.

Took my GSP in for her annual checkup, staff and doctor were right on time, very friendly, explained findings to me, never made me feel rushed to make decisions on next steps, and were very thorough. My Maggie actually likes coming here because shes pretty sure theyre all just there to see her and pet her, which is actually true.

After years of care on numerous animals were looking elsewhere to bring our fur family at this point. Theres really 0 friendly, outgoing, cheerful people to deal with here. Professionalism at its worst. Tired of the wait times, whether it be telephone or a scheduled appointment. Its ridiculous. Seems like opening lobby same as a medical building would do them some good. Highly dissatisfied with their service.

They do take care of my pets. However, I really wish the staff was nicer, to put it plainly, and took more time to explain things. Its very much business like and I find little human connection, compassion or empathy within the staff members. Its like youre going into a grocery store, not somewhere where care and feelings are and should be involved.

Weve taken multiple animals for varying services and always get consistently great and compassionate service.

The receptionist worked hard to fit me into their schedule so I could get my injured mule seen. She was attacked by a dog and her nose had a large tear on her face. We loaded her up and got her there and the doctor did a fabulous job of sewing her up. Brought in four cats from Just Care Animal Rescue. I am a volunteer. They are very nice and are always willing to see our cats. Very nice, clean facility. The vet tech and Dr. Ritter were very gentle with the cats.

Ive used them before and some things they are kind of pricey but they have always been really good. A few days ago they neutered my dog and were awesome about it and cheap enough to make it worth it for me. The only place cheaper was the spay/neuter clinic in Tacoma and Id spend the rest in gas getting there and back plus they were so much easier to get in to. They were awesome with handling our newest addition who is still learning manners like no pull and quiet. He has separation anxiety so started howling while in there. They did him earlier than expected so hed be less stressed and they wouldnt have to listen to him. Gotta love them hounds. Im so glad they worked with him and took great care of him. They also came out and checked our mare who was lame with a deep abscess and they were awesome about giving filly her 1st shots even though she was really not happy about it. We will be using them again. Im going to call today about rabies shots for my other dogs who are due. I would definitely recommend them. While pricey on some things they are worth it. I was overjoyed when I saw that they accepted Scratchpay. Another great option for pet parents who need to get into a vet but cant pay that much up front. Ive used it before and it was beyond helpful. Its so easy to apply online. I called the vets office 1st and asked about different prices then estimated a couple hundred more for additional tests that might be needed. I was authorized for $500 but only used $250. Thank you Cascade for taking care of our furry friends needs. They were also incredible when it came time to say goodbye to a couple of our furry friends. They came to the car and you could feel their sorrow as they helped our St Bernard cross the rainbow bridge. They hadnt seen him before but it was an emergency and he was suffering so they helped us and released him from his pain. They are our regular vet now.

Everything is terrific about this place; however, pretty disappointed that they dont have off-hour treatment for dog/cat emergencies anymore. I would hope that with several veterinarian providers at Cascade West that someone would be able to float that on-call position once a month or every six weeks? The closest place would be in Olympia and in a life or death situation that is too far. With a fifteen minute drive into town and another 30-35 minutes to Olympia (under normal circumstances) in an emergency, every minute counts.At the minimum, a phone number to speak with a doctor would be in-line with the rural setting such as our community.

I was here for a well checkup for my latest rescue animal, in the case a pot belly pig. The doctor was very knowledgeable and helpful. She did everything she could to lessen any stress my newest addition. Anyone who has a pot belly pig knows that pbp do not like being held in one spot or touched in some cases. Great staff and service.

The doctors and staff at Cascade West are the best! Theyve been caring for my cats for over 10 years and I wouldnt go anywhere else. There are vets closer to my home, but I trust Cascade West implicitly. They are knowledgeable about animals and treat humans with respect and kindness.

I am beyond disappointed in their most recent response to an emergency situation. My little dog was attached by a big dog and I thought since they were her Vet, they would care enough to want to see her, but no. They said they were booked and we would need to go to Olympia. No questions about her condition before making this decision, no care that she would live or die. I was devastated and she was bleeding profusely, I wasnt sure she would make it to Olympia. I would have expected them to at a minimum, see her and ensure she was stable before sending us to Olympia, but no. My husband brought us to the nearest Vet, where our baby was seen without hesitation, taken care of with the highest concern, and is doing amazing. That was response I would have expected our own Vet, unfortunately not what we experienced. My dogs are like my kids and they deserve better than Cascade was willing to provide.

I like that they personally know and love our puppy, Kimber. At first we were very FRUSTRATED that they REFUSED to see her when she had an emergency, but neither would any other veterinarian. We had to take her to the e.r. in Olympia. They treated her and insisted that we take her back to Cascade West for follow up care. She had to be seen quite regularly. Cascade West is great with routine care, just DO NOT depend on them for emergencies. We also have yet to meet her veterinarian in person or be be with Kimber for exams. I hope that all changes as we are getting over COVID. All in all, we have been with Cascade West for 15years and will continue to utilize their services.

I have been to several vet clinics in this area over the years and this is by far my favorite. A great big shout-out especially to Amy and Jesse on the front desk, two of the nicest, kindest, most patient people you will ever meet. I tend to be a worrier, and my old beagle is especially important to me during the pandemic. Also appreciate every tech I have ever talked to. They have been consistently kind, patient, understanding and helpful. Cannot recommend every doctor at the clinic but would most recommend Dr. Duda, and Dr. Rocky, if Dr. Duda is not available. Keep up the good work, you all!!

This is THE best clinic I have ever had experiance with. I have a pure breed english bulldog and she has some very complicated needs. Their staff is knowedgeable and is always wonderful about making sure I understand everything that is happening. They also are very good about working with my budget as well. I truely feel like they love my little girl as much as I do. I would send anyone to Cascade Vet, I dont have enough good things to say about them.

When we had a have to have help NOW problem they were on it even thought it was a Sunday. And we even got two vets! turns out we needed them both as a C section was needed and even after hours of work at home and a couple more at the office our cow and calf are both alive and doing well. we thanks the whole crew that helped us in our time of need. Above and beyond, 5 stars.

Best vets in Lewis county. Dr Affeldt and Dr. Humpheys are the best! I would not go anywhere else around here.

My issue with this place is that most of the staff is rude, cold, uncaring- except for Dr. Ritter and (I think) Jamie. Anyone else Ive spoken to there is just flat out rude and acts like they dont give a flying F. I know its part of their job to remain calm when pet owners are emotional, but theres a difference between calm and uncaring/rude. Really need to work on either hiring better people who actually like their job/care about animals or have your employees go through some kind of how not to be an A-hole training. Literally just floored me how I was spoken to today.But *****HUGE PROPS**** to Dr.Ritter, she is amazing, kind, compassionate and is the ONLY reason I continue to take my animals there. I can get over rude front desk people as long as my pets receive the kind of care and attention they deserve; and Dr. RITTER delivers that. Thank you Dr. Ritter, youre the best! ♡

Ive only got to experience this vet with covid restrictions so Ive only talked to the doctor on the phone but the greeter staff were very friendly and caring with my fur babies. I confidently and proudly say that this is my vet clinic.

Dr Everson saved my girl when no other vet including the 4 er vets I called would take her. It was a bad snow storm and he said to bring her in and I did he saved my girl and 8 puppies even during a power outage!! Everyone was great. I would recommend them to anyone

I would recommend Newaukum Valley Vet, they are amazing I now take all of my animals there and have only been treated with respect going there.

I went in to have my 16 year old dog put down, the staff were really nice and friendly. I had plenty of time to say goodbye to my girl in a nice quiet room. The whole thing was very painless and they boxed her up for me and gave me a print of her paw to bake at home. 100% recomend this animal hospital.

After calling around to a few vets to get my kitty with an abscess in to be seen, I got nowhere. Im new to the area, so I called Cascade and they got me in within an hour! They didnt try to do extras to up the price, she was straight to the point and fixed my kitty up. Very professional, convenient and affordable. Great staff as well.

My family has been taking our pets to Cascade since the beginning when they use to be across the street. Over the years Ive seen good changes and bad. They are very pricey. I have also noticed that prices very depending on which doctor sees your pet. Look at your receipts and keep track of them. We are in there every couple of months and have caught mistakes frequently on our bill. I would also recommend you get your prescriptions through Chewy if youre looking to cut costs. It can take weeks to get a pet seen here and its 50/50 whether you get a polite or rude front desk person. All the veterinarians have been very compassionate... but the front desk is another story.

My cat suddenly became sick and wouldnt eat. So i took her to Cascade West. Tbey were very thorough and genuinely cared. They were very understanding of my financial situation. They were honest and and helpful. And when it was realized that my baby needed to be put to sleep because of a large tumor in ger abdomen, they allowed us to come inside and spend time with her. They let me hols her the whole time. I am so grateful for thwir compassion. Would recommend Cascade West any day. Thank you, Cascade West.

Really clean facility. Spacious & easy to find right in town. My first puppy & my first experience with a vet. They were very kind & helpful. Even after my pick up I was able to call in if i had any concerns with her health. We live over an hour north in Federal Way, so its comforting to know they would still take my calls & help me with concerns. My new puppy & my 90 year old aunt were both in the hospital & came home the same day.Its like having two babies!

While they do cost a bit more than some of the vets in the area the folks at cascade west are super helpful, always take the time they need with each pet and help you to be comfortable. I have quite a few pets and they all go to Cascade West.
