Miami valley south is top notch. I heard nothing but good things and the raving reviews led me to choose them for my recent delivery. I can’t say enough good things about them at Miami Valley South. All the staff is absolutely phenomenal. I trusted their care and judgement during my entire stay. My anesthesiologist, Dr Anderson was absolutely phenomenal. My delivery ended up being a c section and he really made the terrifying experience of a c section a breeze. His bedside manner is the best of any doctor I have experienced in forever. He talked me through the entire procedure and made sure I was calm and rest assured in good hands. My labor nurse Sam was wonderful. She tried everything she could to get me the delivery I wanted and even when she couldn’t make that happen she made sure I was calm and understood what was happening. All of my recovery nurses were also wonderful. Whatever I needed they got me and any questions I had they answered with confidence and made sure my understanding was clear. My delivery was a breeze thanks to everyone that cared for me.

On July 12, 2021, my husband and I were left and forgotten about in an exam room at my Neurosurgeons office. This is the Clinical Neuroscience Institute of Premier Health at Miami Valley Hospital South. Everyone that works there literally closed the lights off and left for the day - and left us waiting in exam room 6.I have a tumor in my brain and multiple tumors on my skull. I dont have any clear answers just yet. At this point Im being told a biopsy should be scheduled but, obviously, Im not very important to this clinic. So, uh, no thanks. This is and will continue to be costing us big money. I feel that no one actually cares! That point has been proven by leaving us inside a closed facility!Weve reached out to patient services, tried to make a formal complaint, talked to security (who said they couldnt help), and even tried to get the cleaning lady we flagged down to write a statement - to which her supervisor said no. The hospital is actively doing damage control as I type, and probably started as soon as they were made aware of the issue yesterday! No one will help us! I even talked to the Administrative Officer at Miami Valley Hospital yesterday who didnt take a clear statement from me. They are sweeping this under the rug.I did get an apology from this doctor, and from her assistant - but what good does an apology do? They need to keep this from happening again. What if the worst had happened? I am no longer comfortable with the care provided to me!I keep getting the run around on the phone and patient services has told me that they cant help me and wont record my complaint. No one has even pointed me in the right direction!I am not comfortable going back there!

Ive had an absolutely wonderful experience the last two times I have visited this location. Everyone is very professional and the facility is clean and well kept. My surgery went very smooth from pre-admission to checking out, and everything in between. I was recently a patient on the med/surg unit & I received the BEST care while I was there! I have been hospitalized a few times in my life, and this staff is definitely one of the very best I’ve ever received care from! From the moment I entered the ER til the day I was discharged!! Whenever I rang the nurse button, someone was at my bedside with in just a minute or two with a very caring, helpfulattitude no matter the time of day or nite! There is one particular nurse I have to give an extra special thanks to and that’s Amber, (didn’t get her last name, she works 3rd shift) she was amazing!! Again thank you to all the staff for your hard work & dedication at Miami Valley Hospital South!

Last night, I went to the emergency room. I was suffering from an allergic crisis and I could not breathe. Their treatment was very bad. They did not have a room, so they put me next to the toilet, without oxygen, and no one took care of me. The hospital must be treated, and I have the imaging and I documented everything. Will not ever use this hospital again. My Mom was admitted for one issue, developed another and at 4 days, the hospitalist was going to release her with uncontrolled BP of 230/102 because the admitting issue was resolved. I asked what we were supposed to do if she spiked in the 200s+ after we got home, he said, call your doctor, providing its between M-F 8-5 we were going into a weekend. He said if shes showing symptoms ie: chest pain, shortness of breath, basically a stroke or heart attack) call 911.He kept her at our insistence and finally on day 5 they called for a cardiology consult. Nurses were saying that they couldnt get certain test because of it being a weekend. (Echocardiogram) While supposedly being monitored i got there one afternoon and shes not even connected to the heart rate/ blood pressure machine. My dad had been sitting with her for at least 1.5hours since the nurse had been in before I got there. When the nurse came in shortly after my arrival I asked, shouldnt she be connected to the machine? So you can monitor her?? Most of the techs, nurses were very nice. Would i feel comfortable in trusting my Moms or anyone I care abouts carein their hands? NO!Go to a real hospital!

If you want to walk away with the statement “I guess I’m too old for them to care about” this place is for you. I have taken my son here several times with no issues. Today it was my mother who felt just as bad, just as dizzy, with the same issues when we left as when we showed up. With nothing other than follow up with your doctor. No answers, no help. The techs and nurses were great. But at the end of the day, very disappointed in the treatment she received today.

We had our baby at Miami Valley Hospital South. Our two main nurses on January 8-10 were Kelly and Olivia. They were both AMAZING! They were extremely friendly, caring, helpful, and professional. They taught us so much as first time parents. I will recommend this hospital to others because of how fantastic they both were! Also, on January 8th I had my c section. Nurses, Pam and Miranda, were wonderful! They helped explain to us what was going on and prepared us for the surgery. Miranda hugged me and talked me through the epidural, which was the scariest part of the surgery to me. She made it seem painless. The anesthesiologist, Nate, was very informative and professional. He helped keep us calm during the surgery. Mark, who was the respiratory therapist during the surgery, explained everything going to my husband and myself during the surgery. His excitement to see our baby was contagious and helped make it seem more real to us.After the surgery Marissa taught my husband how to swaddle our baby and give her the first shots. She helped make us feel more comfortable as sudden parents that day.Malia, the PCT, was also extremely helpful and professional. The nurse, Silvia, who checked us out was also extremely kind. All in all we had a 11 out of 10 experience at Miami Valley South and we will be going there again for our next child.Thank you for hiring such WONDERFUL staff!

The worst treatment by nurses that I have ever seen in 50 years. The consistent verbal abuse was unbelievable. When I finally spoke up the nurse lied and called security to have them tell me I am not allowed to respond to her in any negative way even if she is abusive. I decided to leave. Very sad how some nurses can be so mean and unprovoked. Kind of scary when you are really sick and vulnerable. I prayed over this quite a bit. If you do go to this hospital just be careful with how you handle any kind of abuse you receive.

Finally when the baby was born they never weighed her when she came out nor took the claims of the umbilical cord when she came out! Dont go here! This is not a hospital; it is an ER and transportation business. They have been open for 13 years and only have 60 beds. They will transfer to their other hospital in a dangerous neighborhood. It is quite a racket they have going on charging around $800 for the trip. Go to a Kettering Hospital if you can for much better treatment. The staff in the ER is threatening and nasty. The first thing they want to do is run a lot of tests that have nothing to do with why you can in. No wonder health care is so expensive. If you dont cooperate with what they want, they threaten you (in my case they would not let my husband know where I was). They violate many of their patient rights. If you lodge a complaint, they dont get back to you regarding the resolution. Even the head of the hospital, JoAnn Ringer, or the head of the ER Specialists do not respond. They just dont care.

I wish I could rate lower. I went to this ER because it was closer then driving downtown. I want the 2 ER nurses that worked the night I came in to understand how horrible their insensitivity and actions can make a patient leave without being seen to go to a hospital out of network. I live alone and had to drive myself it was hard to do in so much pain. But when the 2 of you were to busy reading off medications Id had not been on in years and looked at each other and prejudged me as a addict. Then when I couldnt go to bathroom the nurse got an attitude and was irritated like how dare I come I to ER. Well I left went to Southview and was diagnosed with a actual problem that was giving me pain and refused pain meds even though the RN and Dr at Southview kept insisting because I was crying from pain and how I was treated by the nurses at Miami Valley South. I left crying from Miami valley south and not one staff member came to try and persuade me to stay. Nurses are suppose to be compassionate no matter what the reason a patient comes in. I work in a ER and yes some patients can test our limits. But when you treat everyone in pain like that when they need you ,you should look into another field. I WILL NEVER COME TO Miami valley south AGAIN. I will never send family or friends there and will continue to tell the story of how much there is no compassion there.

I had an unpleasant experience in the ER but a very good experience with one of the orthopedic doctors in the sports injury clinic. I had fallen and twisted my knee. I came by ambulance to the ER because I could not walk. The ER doctor in charge said that I had a contusion and needed an ace bandage. Since I was having trouble walking, they let me try walking with a walker but when I was leaving they were telling me to leave with the ace bandage only. I asked for a brace and walker which the doctor signed for via one of the nurses working with me.Two to three weeks later, one of the orthopedic sports injury doctors, the ER doctor had not given me any after care instructions, said that I had sprained my medial collateral ligament (MCL) and had bursitis in my hurt knee. He was extremely helpful in telling me what to do to help fix my problem. I would give the ortho doctor a 5. The Er doctor would get a 2 or less.I am reluctant to ever go to Miami Valley Souths ER. Still no explanation as to why it had to happen. During the stay my baby was only 5 pounds at almost full term, one nurse asked me several times if I drank during my pregnancy. Which i didn’t, I actually had a condition that made him that small. Then on the day I was get discharged to leave the baby got the okay to go in the morning but we had to wait until almost 6:30 pm for me to be able to leave because someone forgot to tell my obgyn i was ready to leave. No one called her the whole time we were there either. So she had to come back into work after she had already left for the day. I’m very disappointed in the care I received. I’ve waited months to rate because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t the hormones. It isn’t, it was a traumatizing experience. Update: My elderly parents have gone to the ER a few more times, and they have both received nothing but excellent care each time. Today, Dr. Kohls, NP Maggie, and especially Nurse Marsha provided thorough medical care with kindness and compassion. Grateful to all the staff!4 years ago: My mom had wrist surgery here today. All of the staff from check-in rep and pre-op nurses to the anesthesiologists, surgeon, and post-op nurses were fantastic! Clean facility, efficient operations, great communication, and a friendly staff that answered all questions and provided excellent patient care. Especially grateful for Dr Al-samkari and Dr Nalabolu for their great bedside manner and patience in answering questions. Nurses Julie, Pam, Kourtnie, and Angie were amazing!

Staff was very devilish and rude to people with mental disabilities. I had to crawl off their property after faiting because of fear they would call the cops. Sad I know Jesus is going to kill them for how they treated me.

Awesome. Everthing I have had to be taken to MVS, my experience has been one where I had the ultimate care and attention given to me by Staff ,above and beyond what I had ever received elswhere. Mostly their desire to TRULY help me. Thanks you are gr=at.Vivian J Kemper.

$1200 after insurance for 5 stitches. Thats what the birth of my son cost at Kettering.ER services were sketchy with nurses trying to shake hands with gloves on and biohazard materials left on the chairs in the room.
