I had a PFM crown made by Mazzotta after chipping my second molar, the crown was obviously too high and had been preventing me from being able to close my mouth entirely. Mazzotta filed the crown down until the metal underneath the porcelain was showing and the crown was still way too high. To make the crown fit, he shaved my opposing (completely healthy) tooth without informing me he would be doing so. I didn’t even realize he was drilling on my healthy tooth until I started to feel pain. After leaving the office, my healthy tooth has been completely unable to eat most foods due to sensitivity which has lasted for around 5 months, even brushing my tooth is painful. On top of the tooth being sensitive, the cusps of the tooth are so flat that I can no longer even chew softer foods with it properly. My new dentist described one of the cusps that was shaved as being removed entirely and says I will need a crown for my once completely healthy tooth. I wish I would have been asked and informed before my healthy tooth was drilled down.

Avoid this clinic. If you want to reach to a condition that you should extract your tooth, if you like to experience low hygiene dental equipments, and if you want to meet a doctor who refuses to give you a copy of your x-ray, then here is your place. Otherwise, there is nothing good about this doctor. Yes, the office building is nice and the secretary is a nice lady. Thats it! I wish I could give him a better review, but he doesnt deserve it.

Been going there for years, very nice hygienists and dentist. However, some things cant be overlooked. When I asked about a billing issue, I asked for records of what was sent to my insurance and an explanation for the payment, they got upset, refused to show me anything but the handwritten notes. This was not the first time this happened and I have, in the past, asked the receptionist to provide me with documentations but she stated I dont know how to do that. She isnt new and should know how to do her job. She also isnt very personable. I decided to stop seeing them because they always have an issue with staffing, they dont know what theyre doing for insurance and billing, and they cant provide documentation. Theres nothing wrong with handwritten things but you should have SOMEONE on staff who knows how to look up documentations of what is being sent to the insurance. Very disappointed as I and my whole family have been seeing them for over 6 years but enough is enough.

I finally had to say goodbye to this dentist today. I have been seeing this dentist for over 10 years. Ive had 3 experiences with them that made me feel undervalued as a client. A couple of years ago I had an appointment with them and showed up but it somehow got erased in their books and I had to reschedule. I almost switched dentists that day because of this experience but one of the staff members called me a day later and apologized for the situation was very emphatic. This kept me as a client for a bit longer. The second time this happened, I showed up for an appointment, waited 20 minutes, then was told I had to reschedule because of staffing issues. I understand things happen that are beyond our control, so I made an exception for it and move on. But today I showed up for my appointment, waited 15 minutes and was told I had to reschedule because of understaffing, AGAIN. At this point, I was done with this dentist. They very behind the times. Everything they do is still paper-based. Nothing is electronic, even their appointment book! On a more positive note, all the staff Ive interacted with are very personable and pleasant. Mazzotta has a quirky personality and his dental skills are very good but it doesnt make up for the poor operations of his office. I wish him and his staff the best. I hope they figure this out before they lose more clients.

Always friendly, always gentle, always nice. Tells me my teeth are nice too, which not all dentists do! Highly recommend. Only issue is the location is odd - its behind a plastic surgery institute. Could use better signage. Other than that I love it (as much as one can love going to the dentists office)

Ive been going here 13+ years, lotta changes in that time. I know all the staff on a first-name basis. The old office at Page Manor burned down 10 yrs ago....it was an 18 min drive, but now I drive 28 min to the office in Centerville. The new office is way better and spacious, and Dr. Mazzotta actually owns the property/building, which is located in an upper middle-class neighborhood. They have just enuf help to do the job, most everyone is polite, courteous and competent, but I really think they need to hire another dental tech cuz if anyone calls in sick, it really puts them in a bind, and the receptionist should do only her job instead of being multi-tasked to help out with dental procedures too. Twice Ive been called the same day as my appointment to be told not to come in for it. First instance, I had an appointment, but it somehow got erased in the books and I had to reschedule. The second instance, the dental hygienist, who was to clean my teeth, didnt show up for work...not sure if she was sick or not, but it was last-minute. Their billing is unusual. In my experience, usually a dental office bills you and then settles-up with u after your appointment based on your EOB (Explanation of Benefits) which arrives in the mail after your insurance looks at the bill. Then the dental office says u owe us so much more $ or they cut u a check and say u over-paid. They must keep a running total of your account either in a computer or an old-school paper ledger log, because Ive never been given a reimbursement check, but once I was told I owed $25. They also rely on the old-school photographic film X-rays instead of the relatively new digital ones which are way more detailed. Theyve helped me out with fillings, crowns and root canals as Ive aged as well as cleanings and exams.....seems my one crown is gonna graduate to a bridge very soon cuz that poor tooth is just worn out. For root canals, they refer you to a specialist or to the weekly visiting dentist (currently Dr. Dubell) if your insurance accepts his plan. A Big Plus: They do accept Care Credit now, which is a credit card that can be used for dental bills and is interest free if paid off in a certain amount of time (6 months at this dental office). They give u free mini tubes of tooth paste and book your next appointment before u leave and really work with you when scheduling days and times for appointments. Emergency visits are expensive, so avoid them. One added note: Jade, the new younger receptionist there as of July 2019, does her job well and has perked up the place nicely, but has been a bit rude and abrasive with a touch of attitude towards me and others. She worked at this current office location in Centerville 10 years ago until Dr. Mazzottas Page Manor office burned down and everything was moved to his current location in Centerville. Vonda, the old receptionist whos been with Dr. Mazzotta for 25 years and the entire 13+ years Ive been going there, is much better in her interaction with patients and her telephone etiquette, not to mention shes got things down pat with running the office area as well as assisting Dr. Mazzotta with various dental techniques when needed. Ive never had any bad experiences at this office as far as dental procedures go and would recommend it, but, Dr. Mazzotta is getting older and probably will be retiring soon. This means Ill be looking for a new dentist....wish me luck in finding one as good as Dr. Mazzotta!!!

First time customer went in for cleaning after waiting 2 weeks. Sat in waiting room for 15 before dr came out and asked me why I was there. Then told me I would have to reschedule because both of his “girls “ got sick. I told him I would have liked a call this morning and he said he couldn’t because he was the only one there. His phone didn’t work? He was very nonshalaunt and acted like he could care less for the inconvenience. I had to go to dr to get anxiety medication to go there. Guess I got lucky and didn’t and won’t go there. Wish I would have read the reviews first.

It took more than a month for them to figure out how to use insurance and schedule me an appointment. After I finally got an appointment to get a crown, Dr. Mazzotta proceeded to drill my tooth and GUMS until he had destroyed the tooth, then told me I would have to have it pulled because he apparently doesnt know how to do crowns. I got a very painful infection from all the cuts in my mouth (approximately the size of a dime, even the hygienist described it as a massive ulcer). When I went back to get the referral to the oral surgeon to have the tooth pulled, they wanted me to sign a statement saying I was declining getting a crown and chose to have the tooth pulled instead. When I said I would rather have a crown but Dr. Mazzotta said he couldnt do it, they became very confused and said that they couldnt see any possible reason that it couldnt be crowned. I explained that he must have, since he stopped drilling and sent me away, but I had to argue with them just to get the referral that Dr. Mazzotta said I needed to have.I am sure that if I had seen any other dentist, I would still have my tooth and it would have been crowned successfully. I will not be going back.

Worse than one star. Fillings fall out, incompetent billing, and adversarial about it and didnt want to hear it when I tried, politely, to tell him that things arent right. Dont go here.
