I inherited CFO Orthos accounting services as part of a business acquisition and had a poor experience throughout our limited time together. There were numerous errors in the tax and accounting documents needed for the business transition that led to postponements in the process (to the extent that my lender even suggested finding a new accountant). Then, in our one month of work together, our CPA Shane 1) canceled our Quickbooks account prior to running the months books without consulting with me or my new CPA (despite being paid for it), 2) subtly tried to get out of even running our last payroll and giving that task to my new CPA and denied it when called out on it (again, despite being paid for it), and 3) argued that all his intentions in these actions were to lessen the burden on me and to be friendly (though they increased the burden and felt dishonest rather than friendly). Exchanges with Shane felt uncomfortable and questionable, and his intentions felt very strongly as if they related to collecting money while doing the least amount of work. His manner and service was a stark contrast to my other CPA. I strongly dissuade people from working with him at CFO Ortho.
